Bright Future Solar Energy provides solar solutions to commercial, residential, and agricultural clients in the central, coastal region of California.

Bright Future Solar Energy was founded by Heath Braddock, Kelly Robinson, and Chris Lewis. The group had worked as professional engineers with experience in the impending solar energy revolution. As a result, the three joined forces to provide a host of solar solutions to a wide range of clients.

In addition to installing solar systems, Bright Future Solar Energy provides energy management solutions, hybrid vehicle installations, and digital control systems. As a locally owned and operated company, Bright Future Solar Energy is dedicated to providing a personal and customized service to each client.

The Good

  • PG&E Net Energy Metering Aggregation Program
  • Agricultural Solutions
  • Financing Partners

PG&E Net Energy Metering Aggregation Program

Clients that utilize Bright Future Solar Energy for solar installation services have the option to enroll in the PG&E net metering aggregation program. By enrolling in this program, clients can further maximize their solar investment. A special net meter will be installed to measure how much energy your personal solar system produces.

This meter will also keep track of the energy consumed by the property. Whatever is left over is net energy. This net energy is then sold back to PG&E, benefiting the client financially and environmentally. Not all solar installation companies have the ability to provide a net metering option, but the relationship with Bright Future Solar Energy allows clients to enroll in this PG&E program.

Agricultural Solutions

A vast majority of solar installation companies target commercial and residential clients. Most fail to expand solar offerings outside of these project types. Bright Future Solar Energy has taken the initiative to offer sustainable solutions to agricultural clients. Bright Future Solar Energy can service clients like winery owners and farmers, as well as agricultural communities.

These types of clients often use energy to power water pumps, boilers, heating and ventilations systems, lighting and production equipment. When electricity is not used, expensive fuels are purchased to power this heavy equipment. By offering solar solutions to these types of clients, Bright Future Solar Energy is helping agricultural clients reduce utility costs while utilizing a sustainable source of energy.

Financing Partners

Clients can always pay for solar solutions in cash, but that is not a feasible option for all prospective solar customers. Fortunately for Bright Future Solar Energy clients, a host of financing options are available. Clients who decide to purchase the system outright will receive help from Bright Future Solar Energy to obtain tax incentives to reduce the upfront costs.

Bright Future Solar Energy has also partnered with Sungage Financial to provide lease options. These lease options are often still less expensive than the traditional monthly electric bill.

Additionally, Bright Future Solar Energy has partnered with California’s First Financing to benefit clients who may have bad credit and do not qualify for a loan or lease. Not all solar companies are as flexible when it comes to financing solar systems and installation.

The Bad

  • Undisclosed Equipment Information
  • No Warranty Details
  • Limited Service Area

Undisclosed Equipment Information

Solar installation companies do not actually manufacture the solar systems they install on clients properties. Instead, solar installation companies like Bright Future Solar Energy will typically partner with a tier-1 solar manufacturer and install that equipment as part of its services. These equipment partnerships are generally made public as they play a role in many prospective customers’ decision making processes.

However, Bright Future Solar Energy has not disclosed any equipment partnership information and it is unknown what solar equipment the company uses in its installations.

No Warranty Details

With the high costs associated with solar, most companies protect clients by offering a number of warranties. Most of the industry offers solar clients an equipment and workmanship warranty. The equipment warranty is generally 25 years and covers parts and replacements as well as production rates.

Workmanship warranties are usually offered by the solar installation company and are an average of 10 years. This warranty protects clients from any issues associated with the installation process. Despite it being an industry standard, Bright Future Solar Energy does not appear to offer these types of warranties.

Limited Service Area

Bright Future Solar Energy prides itself on being locally owned and operated. As such, the service area is relatively restricted. The company services clients from Santa Barbara up to the Bay Area in California. Outside of this service area, Bright Future Solar Energy does not provide solar solutions.

It is not uncommon for solar companies to provide services in a geographically limited area, but some companies have found ways to expand into other states and regions. Bright Future Solar Energy is not one of these companies.

The Bottom Line

Bright Future Solar Energy works to provide residents in central California with sustainable energy solutions. Clients that decide to use Bright Future Solar Energy can opt into the PG&E net metering aggregation program, maximizing solar system ROI. Bright Future Solar Energy also provides agricultural solar solutions installing massive sustainable energy projects on farms and within the agricultural community as a whole. Bright Future Solar Energy has also partnered with a solar financing partner to help clients access the cash flow needed to have these sustainable projects installed.

While Bright Future Solar Energy provides a number of high quality solar solutions, there are limitations prospective clients should be aware of. First, there is no equipment information disclosed making it difficult for potential customers to determine whether or not Bright Future Solar Energy is who they want to use as their solar installation provider. The company does not appear to offer any sort of warranties and the service area is fairly restricted.

Taking into consideration all services and limitations, agricultural clients considering solar solutions would likely benefit from what Bright Future Solar Energy has to offer. However, residential and commercial clients may want to do further research on Bright Future Solar Energy prior to enlisting the company for solar work.
