The Good

Customer Focused

Ambia Solar’s primary mission is to help people improve their lives through sustainable products and services. The company promises clients white-glove service and a brighter future.

The Bad

  • Website Lacks Major Details

Website Lacks Major Details

Although we love the message Ambia Solar promotes, providing sustainable energy to homeowners everywhere, the company’s website lacks some important details that would help consumers decide whether this is the right company for them.

The website doesn’t mention what manufacturers it works with or which panel brands it installs. Consequently, there won’t be any information on warranties or company guarantees.

Another thing the website needs to include is what kind of training or experience its technicians have. Most companies will at least say how much experience a team has combined, but others will go as far as to get NABCEP certified to ensure they provide consumers with the best service possible.

Lastly, there needs to be more information on how customers can pay for their system. Ambia Solar will likely accept cash or financing, but this is something to ask about during a consultation. Few companies offer leasing or PPA solutions, so if Ambia Solar does offer these payment options, it would be nice to know that upfront.

You want to ensure you trust the company you’re hiring — especially since a new solar system is not cheap. Providing this information upfront would help consumers immediately know whether this company is right for them.

The Bottom Line

At this moment, it’s difficult for us to thoroughly compare Ambia Solar to other companies, as the lack of information hinders us from writing a comprehensive review. It would be nice if more information could be provided on the website so consumers know exactly what they are getting into when working with Ambia Solar.

An Ambian Solar sales person knocked on my door and was super polite. I decided to not set up an appointment, but I appreciated them being so knowledgable and not using high pressure sales and I will look into using them if I do want solar in the future.

Pros: -Installers are nice, knowledgeable and willing to work with you. -Install work was done well. Cons: -Not communicative with you. -Last minute changes on day of install I was not aware of. -Office lacks ability to communicate between departments. -Customer support does not have vital information available to them, I.E. contact info for department managers. -I had to be the one calling to make sure things got done. The experience I had with employees directly was good. However, there seems to be issues in the way the company is structured making communication difficult. If these issues are able to be resolved, I can say that they will do a great job. The end product was excellent, I just wish the process of getting there was smoother. The Solarado install team and their electricians did a quick and good job installing the panels.

I am a new customer and found Staff professional and not pushy. Follow up is timely. Installation was fast and workers were courteous and left no mess. Would recommend

Absolutely seamless installation process, saving a ton of money while my neighbors pay the jacked up rates, actually got a good laugh in at the expense of my neighbors since they are so frustrated with their utility bill. Would highly recommend Solar, and would highly recommend Ambia.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Still no replies from your company. Phone calls offer the same "still in permitting". That means you installed the system without proper approval from the AHJ. You should lose your license over that alone. I've negatively reviewed your company with the facts to the Better Business Bureau and a formal complaint with the State Attorney General. I will also broadcast your lack of ethics widely on social media, specifically LinkedIn. Sorry Conner, you organization has really dropped the ball. I need action on the promises made by your company with all dispatch.

Although they took over for another company that didn't complete the paperwork for our system, they've largely sat on this project for 10 months now. We just discovered that someone told EverBright (panel owners) that the system was complete and functional. The only problem is, it's not operational because it's still shut off. Everyone we've contacted for the past two months has said this is an installer's job, to turn on the system, and nearly 8 weeks later we finally received an email saying I could turn my own system on, or wait another 2+ weeks for them to come out and do it. We cannot get a straight answer here, the system has been installed now for over a year, everyone EXCEPT Ambia (today) has said we're not supposed to turn our own system on and we've lost $1000's waiting for this to be operational and "on" without so much as a "we're sorry" from these guys. EverBright says any rebates, discounts, back pay has to come from Ambia, and, you guessed it, Ambia says that anything like that would come from EverBright. Meanwhile, we've lost money for nearly 12 months now and have to go start the system ourselves which is exactly the OPPOSITE of what everyone else has told us we're supposed to do.

Not happy with the performance of this company.. Everything went fine at the sales presentation but down hill from there.. After a month of not hearing anything I sent a message to the sales rep Oscar asking if the engineering was done and he responded that we were too impatient and without our consent cancelled our contract.. Now they say we have to start all over... Does not speak well for this company...

Rep didn’t waste our time. He told us that the long term savings are what’s really worth it, it made sense numerically, so we went for it. We,ve been with Ambia since May now (in Ohio) and loving it!

Tanner answered all my questions. Communication is primarily over text, which I prefer. Project managers respond in a timely manner. System activation can take a minute but my understanding is that’s a function of the utility company not ambia

The project coordinators I talked to are pleasant and understanding and helped ease some concerns over logistics with my home and scheduling. Even though solar ultimately didn't work out for my particular situation, Dexton stayed to answer all my questions.

I contract with Ambia solar on July 19, 2023. It is now NOW Dec 22 2023 and they have not got my solar running. Broken promise after broken promise. I am filing a lawsuit now. Whatever you do don't contract with Ambia.

The worst experience ever. I agreed to solar panels in June of 2022...they took 4 months to install. Today is Oct. 26, 2023 and still not a functioning system. What a waste.

They are inefficient . We have been working with them for over a year and we are still not up and running. They also made a whole in my kitchen ceiling and never repaired it.
