Although subscribers should be aware that all offers require credit qualification, 2-year commitment with an early termination fee, and eAutoPay.

With select packages, customers will receive a free 3 month trial of premium channels from SHOWTIME, STARZ, and Disney Movie Pack.

*After 3 months you will be billed $30 per month unless you call and cancel.

DISH High-Speed Internet Add-Ons

One of the advantages of investing in DISH TV is the additional discounts that you will receive when you bundle your service with other services offered by DISH. For those that add high-speed internet to their DISH TV plans, pricing can start as low as $20 per month. This high-speed internet service will provide speed for surfing, streaming, and gaming.

*Internet services and pricing are subject to availability and some restrictions apply. For more information, it would be advantageous to speak with DISH customer service representative

Whole-Home HD DVR

The Hopper 3, DISH’s award-winning Whole-Home HD DVR and secondary receivers allow customers to watch TV in any room in the house. Users can start watching a show in the living room and when they get tired can pause and resume the show once they’re in bed. Customers can also say goodbye to recording conflicts as DISH lets customers record 16 programs at once. Perhaps one of the most unique features from the Hopper 3 is the ability to watch four channels at once.

For customers with more than 2-3 TV’s in their home, DISH offers a small but powerful complimentary receiver, Joey. A Joey connects multiple TV’s in the home with the Hopper to help create what DISH calls a “whole-home entertainment experience.” The Joey has all the same benefits as the Hopper and can either be wired or wireless.

*All offers require credit qualification, 24-month commitment with early termination fee and eAutoPay. Prices include Hopper Duo for qualifying customers. The Hopper, Hopper with Sling or Hopper 3 is $5 per month or more. Upfront fees may apply based on your credit qualification

Free Professional Standard Installation

Unlike most service providers, DISH will mount the satellite dish and install the Whole-Home DVR system for free. The company is extremely transparent about what customers can expect on their installation day and what the installation includes.

Customers can expect their DISH technician to:

  • Conduct a site survey and provide recommendations to where the satellite dish should be placed
  • Assemble and mount the satellite dish
  • Install DISH receivers (Hopper, Joey, etc.) for each television included in the service, in up to 6 rooms
  • Program DISH remotes to work with the TV and DISH Receiver
  • Answer any questions
  • Provide prompt and courteous service

24/7 Customer Service

Because of the company’s focus on customer satisfaction, DISH has technical support agents standing by 24/7 to help troubleshoot, resolve issues, and get customers back to watching their favorite show. DISH has nine call centers located throughout the United States filled with customer service agents who are ready to help answer and resolve any questions.

Voice Remote with the Google Assistant

DISH offers a voice remote that is compatible with the Google Assistant. This has been done by integrating the smart assistant directly into each DISH set-top box. Users can change channels, open apps, search for specific actors or shows, ask questions, and even manage daily tasks like adding food items to the shopping list. Other features include a remote locator, backlit keys, and the ability to personalize specific hotkeys.

Does Not Offer NFL Sunday Ticket

While DISH does not offer NFL Sunday Ticket, customers/sports fans can get the Multi-Sports Pack which includes the NFL Network and the NFL RedZone.

Weather Conditions Can Affect The Signal

As many customers have noticed, a satellite dish is affected by the weather. Storms, clouds, and snow will all mess with the TV signal. While this isn’t a problem for cable TV, DISH customers should be prepared to deal with this. However, customers can still watch their DVR recordings during short-term outages.

The Bottom Line

Customers who want all the bells and whistles from their TV provider should definitely look into DISH. The company offers reasonably priced TV packages — each with a great channel lineup and a 2-year price guarantee — 24/7 live and award-winning customer service, the industry’s most advanced DVR system, and the ability to watch and record shows on a mobile device with the app. As far as getting your money’s worth with DISH there are plenty of options.

Customers should be aware of all DISH’s current network fees. However, the company is transparent about all its fees and customers can easily find them on the website.

DISH doesn't offer NFL Sunday Ticket. However, if this isn’t a deal-breaker, then DISH is an excellent choice.

We recommend customers call or visit the site to see what offers and promotions DISH has to offer.

Dish is really good when you have no trees or other houses around you to interfere with the signal. It's awful when it rains too, because the signal might go out as well. Satellite internet is good, but can also be hung up by signal. Wen everything does work, it has a clear picture and no lag or latency. Customer service is also really easy to work with.

A Dish rep came to my home uninvited in September. She saw the offer that I had received in the mail to switch to Dish and receive a $500.00 prepaid Master card. I told her that I wanted to keep the same programs that I had with Direct TV. She took all my information and said it would be installed on Saturday morning. Well, Saturday came and by late afternoon no installer. I called the rep and her boss called me back saying that another installer would be out. All was good until I tried to set up my dish account. Figuring that if I went to the Dish retailer things would get straightened out but to no avail. He called the rep to see why and was hung up on! When I was finally able to get signed in I found that my name, phone number, and email, and programing was all listed wrong. Now after 5 months, I am still getting the runaround as to getting the $500.00 prepaid card stating that it was set up by rep as a transfer from Direct TV which would only get $300.00. My point is their rep did everything wrong including the Master Card info so why should I be denied the offer. I have had nothing but the run around with this and Dish is doing nothing to fix the problem. So beware of offers and reps from Dish!!!

Average for how businesses handle customers - clients these days. Not the top of the line experience that someone like Warren Buffet recommends as the correct model for success. Heavy clouds or snow will often interfere with signal ... but that is not uncommon for any satellite based system. VERY frustrated at the inability to keep their local viewing guide current and up to date. When you record a special event, sporting event or new show... and ... it is a completely different incorrect program, we find that extremely frustrating . When a client calls for support or help on such an item, PLEASE just get them the help, DO NOT first have them listen to a recording trying to up sell them on a new product or bundle and stop trying to guess at advise as to the top likely issues they might be calling about. Client time is valuable and they do not like hanging on the phone waiting for a service representative or for a technician.

Dish offers a generally good variety of movies available for purchase that can be recorded. HOWEVER, in some cases, they limit the amount of time one has to watch the movie. And, once one begins watching, there is only a 24-hour window to finish watching. Once the time limits are reached, the program can no longer be viewed. Yes, this is annoying, but moreover, it's unfair. The price for the limited access movie is the same price as a movie that is fully available. At $5.99 a recording, one should be able to watch the movie at leisure. A fairer way might be limiting viewing to a single time. Or, if Dish wants to limit the time of availability, lower the price and give the viewer a choice in the matter.

Dish techs have been great - but I was sold on the hughesnet internet services when I had DLS - was told they were faster ! NOT true and what Dish tells you is that you can cancel hughesnet if not satisfied in a 30 day money back guarantee - that is incorrect they cost me $173.00 for the installation after I cancelled Hughesnet would not return that fee plus they want $400.00 to cancel - which i did not pay-had to argue with management - but am still out $173.00 for the installation - had to cancel terrible internet service ! Don't use hughesnet ! Dish stop telling people this information !

Dish has an excellent picture, as do Directv and Time Warner Cable. Dish seems to go out whenever there is any rain at all so that can be quite annoying. I signed up with a 2 year contract with the first year being a great deal and I am now in my second year and as noted at time of sign-up, my price increased. I also had one referral which lowered the cost by $5.00 a month for 10 months. I have no gripes with the cost because it is exactly as advertised. The package I have is the "Smart Pack" and it is sufficient for me and my grandsons although I do miss HGTV, TLC, A&E and Lifetime. I have had no issues with any of my equipment and no issues with billing. The only gripe I have is I tried at one point to get the Hopper and I was told it would be $150 plus shipping to get it and then another $12.00 a month, I believe. I just told them never mind.

Dish has MUCH better organization of their channel lineup than Direct TV. and their equipment is smarter. Their remotes are fully programmable and can learn any other remote. They also can use either IR or RF. If you;re geeky, DIsh is a better choice. Not that you need to be geeky to work it. NO CONTRACT REQUIRED. Unless you go with a package deal. Your choice. Where we finally went crosswise with them was over a billing error. Theirs. A $2.56 "pro rated fee" for a programming change was added to the account, but NOT to the bill. I paid the bill less the fee. On time. I was late the next month by two weeks. Because the pro-rated fee was added the previous month, they deemed the $2.56 over 30 days late and shut off the service. Wife and I had been traveling (the reason for the late payment) and didn't even notice. We found out when we got home. A phone call resolved the monetary issue...BUT....They had SHUTOFF my Internet account access. We couldn't see where the problem was because of it. The bank showed the previous payment made on time for the full amount (of the bill. without the $2.56 add-in). I was livid. I understood the service cancellation. I WILL NOT accept having my account access suspended. I dropped the service immediately. That's no way to treat customers.

Who Knows

My experience with Dish network has been decent, but not the best. The thing i like about dish was the affordability. The problems I have are the pricing for extras such as remotes and cable boxes etc. They charge you for everything. You are charged every month to "rent" your remote and cable box. The main problem I've experienced was the signal going out every single time it rains, or get cloudy.

I was a dish customer for many years. The service was always good but the bill kept increasing over the years and no one could ever explain exactly why. You will get a good introductory rate and then it will gradually go up over time. Also, they will get into yearly disputes with local ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates and you will lose them for a time (usually when there is a game on you want to watch).

I have Dish with the built in DVR to record shows to view later. I pay for no extra channels. My bill is $ 75-76.00 a month. I think this is rather high and would like to go with Hulu or Sling. Just have not gotten around to it yet. Or the Firestick. I have been with Dish for 12 years. I think they are better then Direct. Customer service seems about average maybe a little better then average. I can always understand them.

Too expensive and when I had internet with them it was the WORST!!! They promised it would be lightning fast and when I tried calling back to the customer service number the lady said was her own cell number; NOT! Never an answer so I rode it out to keep from paying the penalty, now I tell everyone to stay away from the dishnet and the TV programs are okay but the price is way too high and way too many sports channels and not enough good movie channels for the price.

The first one that lets you do a la carte will make me EXTREMELY happy. We WILL be canceling our contract in march. Price is too high for the MAYBE 10 channels we watch. We can get our favs online. The only channels we will miss are CSNBA and CSNCA, our Giants games and my YANKEES when they play the A's...So we only have a few more months left with them.

Dish was a little unreliable, but their pricing was better than DIRECTV...for awhile. After a few years, like DIRECTV, Dish started to increase their prices, but our channel lineup stayed the same, and our loss of service stayed the same. I can’t in good faith pay for something, or stay with a company that is more worried about their bottom line than their paying customers...

Real rating is 3.5. We have had Dish for over a decade. It is pretty reliable for the most part. Recently we have experienced more outages and the price is now way too expensive. Trying to convince myself to cut the cord but have too many movies saved on my dvr. Customer service is rarely helpful other than telling you to unplug for 10 seconds and plug back in.

We have had DISH TV for about six years. There are many things I like about the company, but also a few concerns. I like their Customer Service, I like their DVR format, and I like that we can use Dish Anywhere (such a deal!). I don't like that the price keeps going up (higher than teaser rates for new customers), and that I sometimes get varying instructions when I call for technical help. We love DISH but are seriously considering changing because of the price.

I had DISH as our TV provider prior to switching to another provider. I don't have much bad to say other than the fact that it seemed like our service was always being interrupted with technical difficulties. Their customer service was helpful even though their wasn't much they could do. The service seemed overpriced for what was provided. I would recommend another provider before sending someone to DISH.

We were customers for 10+ years. The user interface was lacking and frequently lost local channels because of various disputes. We switched to Comcast and we were much happier. Although, with Dish we were able to watch live TV on their app, but with Comcast, we can only watch certain channels live on the app, or else we have to be home and logged into our Comcast wifi. Dish was nice, but it's nicer not having to clean off the snow on our dish anymore.

Overall, we had a good experience with dish. Installation was challenging because they wanted to place the dish right on the front of our home. Our area struggled with reception anytime there was bad weather. We ended up leaving dish because another provider offered a better pricing with better reception. They came back to get the dish and didn’t repair the holes in the roof so that was disappointing.

We cancelled Dish about 4 years ago. It just got way too expensive for TV service. There really needs to be more cafeteria options so you don't have 100 channels that you never watch. It would be nice to only pay for the few you will watch. And now, many base packages don't even include ESPN and many of the channels I will spend time watching. They also continue to hound us with junk mail since we left

Didn't love Dish when they were our Satellite TV provider. It seemed like we had many outages where we missed watching things live or the programs recorded on DVR were messed up. Their price seemed a bit high as well for the services provided.

The website explains poorly what is included with each level package, especially with what is included with sports channels. Customer service help is poor, but when we are able to speak to a supervisor we have received better help from customer service.

We are current Dish customers and the transition over was a little rough because I felt like we were given incorrect information when we signed up and they would not budge in helping us after we signed up. The service has been OK, but there are things we miss with the previous provider.

Dish Network was a satellite service for several years until the price went up to high and we had to switch to get a lower price. The service is good but as with all satellite service they raise the prices after a time and you have to call in to find specials and thats a pain.

Like the programming but highly expensive....prices need to be lower for loyal customers. Or give me a different approach so I can still have my channels and less pay.

We enjoy Dish, but sometimes we feel that Dish is more worried about getting new customers than keeping the customers that have been with them for years.

We love the flexibility of the channels and the great viewing. One of the biggest problem that we have encounter with it is that in severe weather we can not see what is going on and this cold be detrimental to anyone.

Was happy at first with Dish. Then they started raising prices and adding channels I didn't have on my plan and then charged me for it. And when it stormed ,the channels didn't pick up.

Tony Wilhite ,

I like some of the newer features of DISH but the cost of watching TV is getting pretty expensive. I can't believe how they drop channels left and right and expect us customers to just be ok with it.
