The Good

  • Identity Protection Plans
  • Early Warning System
  • Money-Back Guarantee
  • Monitoring Services

Identity Protection Plans

Privacy Patrol offers three separate identity protection plans to consumers: one for individuals, one for couples, and one for families.

Privacy Patrol's family plan account provides coverage to everyone living at one address. Additionally, the couples plan account covers two people who reside in the same location.

The company's identity protection plans start at $12.95 per month. Each plan is designed to protect customers' personal data and other personal information and includes 24/7 identity monitoring, full restoration services, lost wallet services, and a no-deductible insurance policy.

Early Warning System

The company offers an Early Warning System that is designed to detect potential identity theft threats before they can occur. According to the company's website, "this system includes name and alias monitoring, phone number monitoring, and address monitoring."

Money-Back Guarantee

Privacy Patrol provides a 30-day free trial on all of its offered plans, as well as a 30-day money-back guarantee policy.

If a member is not satisfied for any reason with the company's identity theft protection service, they can contact Privacy Patrol within 30 days of purchase to receive a full refund.

Monitoring Services

Privacy Patrol offers a number of monitoring services that aim to reach the average customer's expectation of privacy and security.

These services include credit monitoring from all three major bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion), 24/7 internet monitoring, and social security number monitoring.

In the event that suspicious activity is detected, the company will issue a fraud alert to the customer.

The Bad

  • Lack of Recovery Services
  • Limited Insurance
  • Limited Website Information

Lack of Recovery Services

When it comes to identity recovery, Privacy Patrol is not of much assistance. Unlike many other identity theft protection companies, Privacy Patrol does not offer help with personal, financial, medical, criminal, or tax identity restoration.

Limited Insurance

Privacy Patrol offers up to $25,000 in identity theft insurance, which is better than nothing but significantly pales in comparison to the $1 million insurance coverage offered by many other companies in the identity theft protection industry.

Limited Website Information

Privacy Patrol lacks some information on its website regarding its money-back guarantee qualifications, whether or not it provides a mobile app, whether or not it offers to help with pre-existing identity theft conditions, and so on.

The Bottom Line

Privacy Patrol offers monthly plan options for individuals, couples, and families. The company also offers a good money-back guarantee policy, and comprehensive identity monitoring services. Privacy Patrol also provides lost wallet services, an Early Warning System, and full restoration services to all consumers.

In terms of customer service, Privacy Patrol customers can contact identity theft experts at any time in an event of an identity theft emergency.

Overall, the identity theft protection service strives to protect customers' personal information and data. However, the company's personal recovery services are lacking, its insurance coverage is limited in comparison to what other companies in the industry offer, and it lacks some information on its website regarding its services.

Those who want more identity theft protection services or who want to receive a higher amount in identity theft insurance may want to look elsewhere within the industry for that coverage.

Potential customers are encouraged to conduct their own research and contact the company in order to see if Privacy Patrol's services are right for them.

Let me begin by saying, people have selective hearing. Those that call into this company are always in a rush to get off the phone, so that they can go about their daily life. If one person took the time to "HEAR" what was being said to them, and ask questions if they do not understand what is being said, then they would not feel this company is a scam. Are there any rude csr agents that work there? Of course, but they do not last long. It is an idenity thieft protection company and they do NOT scam people. People just do NOT pay attention to what is being said. Once a person rather old or young gives out their cc number they KNOW what they signed up for and that NOTHING is free. ALl of these complaints about the company are nothing but buyer remorse and all companies get it. It is far to easy to scream scam and point fingers at a company. But the scam and the finger should be pointed at the customer no matter how old or young they are. If a elderly person has a credit card, knows how to shop on line and can hold a converstation, then they KNEW what they were doing and their children should just agree that mother or father did some thing with out their permission and will lie to get out of what they have done. Stop blaming the company and take full resposibility of what you know you signed up for. Buyers remose is over rated.

Very impressed with the service I received from Privacy Patrol. My husband's identity was stolen, but because we had the Family plan, he was covered also. We called the hotline that was sent to us when we signed up at 11 PM. To my surprise, a representative answered. On that same call, they helped us to issue an instant credit freeze for my husband, file a police report, obtain our current credit report and stop all of our debit cards. Ashley (the representative we spoke to) said that she would personally handle our entire case, and once the police report was ready, she would begin removing all of the fraudulent credit lines from our credit report. She assured us that our situation was very minor, and that everything would be just fine. I wouldn't have know where to start without their service. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

My elderly father's identity was stolen, as well as his driver's license and so on. Privacy Patrol was able to straighten out the mess that the thieves created. They were on the phone with us every single day, explaining everything and walking us through each and every account that was touched and that the thieves fraudulently created under my father's name. I do not know what we would have done without their assistance. It is so scary when it happens to you. I don't wish this on my worst enemy. I can not say enough good things about the Privacy Patrol team.

My mothers identity was stolen, she was a victim of IRS fraud. She had an account with Privacy Patrol. When I called the customer service number for her I spoke to their manager Renne. She was able to transfer me to the help desk where I was then assisted by a nice women named Lori. They contacted the IRS on my mothers behalf and were able to fix the false tax return filed in my moms name. They were a tremendous help during this crisis and very highly recommend this service to everyone.

I signed up for this service about 4 months ago and called in for the first time yesterday. I lost my wallet while I was out of town, and their Lost Wallet Service really saved the day. They had all of my credit cards listed and the representative called each credit card company with me on the line, and had all of my cards cancelled and new ones resent. Very pleased with their service.

My Identity was stolen 90 days ago and I found out when I applied for a credit card. I called the 800 number that Privacy Patrol sent me and I spoke to a representative named Melanie. Melanie became my hero - she helped me file a police report, freeze my credit, and submitted evidence of my situation to the credit bureaus. I would have been completely lost without her, and she even calls me every week to give me updates. I can say the damage behind me and I am so lucky I had this coverage.

Was contacted by Janine in their NJ office because my credit card declined. It happened because I lost my debit card and my bank cancelled it. Janine was very polite and updated my payment info, then thanked me for being a customer. Great service for the last 9 months that I've been a member.

Great service! Not to mention they cover an entire family for one price. No other company in the industry does that.
