Freedom Home Protection offers warranties that cover all sorts of appliances and home systems. The company networks with thousands of technicians across the country, so when you have a claim, it puts you in touch with a licensed service provider in your area to come out and fix your broken appliance.
Freedom Home Protection is different from home insurance companies in the fact that it covers appliances and systems that break due to normal wear and tear, as opposed to home insurance which covers damage from fire, natural disasters, etc. According to the company’s website, it offers the most comprehensive home warranty coverage on the market.
According to Freedom Home Protection’s website, the company has the most robust network of licensed and insured service providers and contractors in the home warranty industry, with over 40,000 in-network service providers nationwide.
These service providers are licensed and individually contracted, and they are regularly evaluated by customers of Freedom Home Protection to ensure they are meeting the high standards set by the company.
Freedom Home Protection partners with local technicians across the country, so you don’t experience down time between when you submit a claim and when a technician schedules to come to your home. All technicians go through a screening process before being accepted as a partner with Freedom Home Protection.
Freedom Home Protection states on its website that it looks for technicians who value quality work, cost effectiveness, professionalism, and responsiveness.
Freedom Home Protection offers two warranty plans with a number of optional add-ons depending on what your needs are.
Its Basic plan includes warranty coverage for all of the following appliances:
Its Premier plan covers all the appliances of the Basic plan as well as the following appliances:
As far as optional coverage, Freedom Home Protection offers coverage for the following add-on appliances:
Freedom Home Protection offers a free quote on both its Basic and Premier plans.
Freedom Home Protection will cover appliances old and new under its warranty protection as long as they are in good working condition. You will not have to produce maintenance records or have your home inspected before you can get a warranty from the company.
Freedom Home Protection has one singular phone number to call for claims, questions, and any other customer service needs. You don’t have to go digging on the company’s website to find the right number. However, this may mean longer wait times when you do call the company.
We would love to see pricing information on Freedom Home Protection’s website, as well as content on the company blog (currently empty) and more information about the company’s terms of service as they relate to specific types of customers, such as buyers vs. sellers, etc. This is something we have found on some of Freedom Home Protection’s competitors’ sites.
In general, Freedom Home Protection’s online presence is not as robust as it could be, which makes it hard to learn more about the company. The social links on its website are broken, and we couldn’t find the company’s pages even after a search on Facebook and LinkedIn.
Compared to Freedom Home Protection’s top competitors, an $85 service fee is on the high end. We’ve seen a lot of companies that charge between $45 and $70 for this fee.
