I had told the person on the phone what it was, and they said we will schedule someone to come out to fix it. Not good, very confusing!!!!

Sure the company took my money Immediately, scheduled a contractor the next day, and never heard from them. After three calls to the contractor and no response, now four days later, I call HS and talk to a representative. I ask for another contractor after requesting to speak to a higher manager. They schedule me another contractor who sends a text to meet between 12-4:00. After 5:00 I call them. He answers and comes over. This is a week later that the repair is done. Then a few days later the original contractor continues to call and text me about setting up a time to come and fix my problem. Seriously? I am disappointed. I have been with HS for many years and touted your company praise. Very POOR follow through. You state within 48 hours! Also ticked they wanted to charge me another $ 75 for the contractor change. Hope I have made this clear

I requested service 4/13 and GE responded quickly. It was determined parts were needed to be installed 4/26. 4/26 the scheduled service was cancelled as parts were no longer available. AHS was to contact me within 48 hours for replacement. I called 4/28 and again 5/2 and again 5/5 and finally through special connection I talked with a Manager, who escalated the request - he needed additional information which beyond the service tech and GE had provided finally on 5/13 I was cleared to schedule delivery. Today 5/16 the broken appliance was delivered and installed after 1 1/2 month of several phone calls and incompetent customer service staff.

Most responses have been positive, but I had several bad experiences through the many years I have been with AHS. First, I had been with AHS many years when my AC died and still had to pay a large amount for a new ac unit. Secondly, when I got negative responses from two service provider, I was unable to talk to anyone of authority in AHS in a timely timeframe. All agents said their rehearsed speak with promise to get back to me.

Good rates, good service packages but the inability for the consumer to see what local service provider options / service ratings amongst AHS policy owners is unfortunate. AHS doesn't look at outside reviews & doesn't seem to offer transparency to policy holders to inside reviews. If I have a bad experience with a provider AHS assigned to my request I don't have any recourse in selecting a different company & it looks bad for AHS, because they are my advocate to repair my items if they are not catering to AHS members then what are we(policy holders) paying for?

I have had this company for more than 10 years and it is very good service, my silver plan cover many appliances and they come to my house usually within 48 hours to fix the problem. I did not like when I changed to platinum plan because you pay more and the benefits are almost the same, that is way I go backed to silver plan.

They always come and either fix, or diagnose. If a replacement is needed, the wait time for a replacement can be inconvenient to the homeowner. However, the services that they provide are worth the cost of the warranty coverage. It won't be any less unless you fix it yourself if you can.

Referrals to service providers are fast and local. The service call isn’t cheap, $100 for my plan, but they do all the repair needed for that one price. I’ve had clogged plumbing, a burned out oven unit, and a washer overflow all fixed in a timely manner.

1. Almost impossible to get someone that speaks english on the phone. 2. Harder yet to get anyone that has any power to change anything (we asked for a supervisor and were hung up on). 3. No ability to elevate claims to "rush" status - even AC failure in the middle of Las Vegas summer. 4. unreasonable cash out offers. My AC coil developed a leak. I was told it would be $2000+ for AHS to repair. However, I was given only $867 cash out when buying a new unit makes it less likely to need to use AHS. 5. No ability to influence with contract repair company is called. 6. Horrible, worst in class, customer service.

Twice they've given her a contractor that no longer exists, pools r us. She repeatedly told customer service not to request them and again that's who she was given. Most recent experience, originally approved part replacement only for 32 years old system, then after almost a month without AC, approved replacement of air handler only. Less than a week later, the 32 year old compressor gave out. Waiting to see how long will be without AC again. Both parts should have been replaced at the same time. This is our only cooling unit, so very hot and not pleased. Reported duct work and nothing done for that. AHS being cheap has been uncomfortable for 93 year old mother living with us, and 2 pets. I would have been better to make replacement myself with AHS.

However, when I had my garage door opener replaced, the technician said that the garage door spring needed to be tightened and said it wasn't covered under the AHS plan and he charged me an additional $75 to tighten it. A year ago I had a/c problems. When filling out the claim I basically have to diagnose the problem. I said the outsde fan wasn't working. The guy came and replaced the fan, never checking for anything else. There was a freon leak and bad capacitor. The whole unit had to be replaced, and AHS did nothing for me. My last claim was for black stuff coming out the kitchen faucet. A guy came out and cleaned the insides. I said I need it replaced, but he said AHS wouldn't pay for a replacement, just a cleaning. The black stuff is coming out again, and the guy I talked with from AHS said I could file another claim, pay another $75, and AHD would send a different guy out to clean it.

AHS is unresponsive and unreliable when customer raise concerns. Collectively, the agents are poor problem solvers and not adequately knowledgable what is covered by each warranty. They insist that customer to call back repeatedly rather than follow through on issues they'd rather not deal with. I made at least 7 phone calls on the same issue of replacing a worn out bathtub overflow gasket. They stated that the plumber they sent out categorized the leak I had as was a caulking issue which I could clearly see it wasn't. I asked for written documentation of the plumber's diagnosis and a second opinion. Neither options was followed through even though I asked to speak with a manager. My requests to speak to a manager were followed by promises that a manager would return my call within 24 hours. No managers returned any of my calls. I was told at one point that they were busy and I should call back yet again! When I sought to cancel my warranty because of this unresponsiveness, I found that even the process to reach the "Cancellation Department" is obscure and appears intended to frustrate the customer. When I finally reached the "Cancellation Department/Retentiion Department", managers provided contradictory information and were more focused on me not cancelling my warranty than on solving the leak/gasket replacement problem I had. When it was clear that I would not be manipulated into retaining my warranty after 22 years, a punitive fee equal to a month's payment was levied although I had been informed of a different "administrative fee" for cancellation a few days before. The Customer Retention Department does not listen to the customer. It appears they follow a script that seeks to retain customers whose needs they do not care about. A problem that could have been solved simply lost them this customer.

When things/requests/repairs go as planned, AHS is just fine. We've been satisfied with some of the service requests we've placed over the years. However, when things get complicated, or go wrong, AHS is a terrible company to deal with. We've unfortunately found out the hard way that their structure is such that you are forced to go through their phone representatives to resolve issues. But the representatives have no authority to solve any problems. Instead, they promise a "supervisor" will call you to help fix what's wrong. But the "supervisor" won't call - leaving you in an endless loop of calling, speaking to an employee with no authority to fix anything, with a promise that a supervisor will contact you soon. It's awful. Actually, after writing this out, I'm downgrading my rating of AHS overall. It is so frustrating to deal, and to have dealt, with all that.

Basically was a scam my dishwasher needed replacing you sent me an email said let shop when I went to Lyft shop the dishwasher was no longer in stock this made me take an e-card from Lowe's for only $438 I ended up spending over 1000 actually it was $1214 along with the card I ended up paying for delivery and installation and removal of Cours American home shield knew this at the time when I wrote a review before and contacted customer service I was told that I would have to talk to somebody in the Philippines to get this taken care of because The representative based in the United States would not handle my complaint I was told to send it send an email I'd say nuts for that I should be compensated for the money that I had to put out of my pocket that American home shield refuses to reimburse me on I had a similar thing back in November of last year when my water heater drop dropped out and we're American home shield vendor to get to my house and replace that water heater it was going to take three weeks it was right before Thanksgiving when I had a house full of people I was forced into getting my own water heater which was an identical replacement for the water heater that I had that I had in my home I had a Bradford White 50 gallon and I replaced it with a Bradford White 50 gallon it cost me out of my pocket $1900 when I went to American home shield and ask for reimbursement I was told sorry so sorry sorry sorry sorry now you wonder why I rated you that way because you're a rip off company when it comes to anything major

Reported a leak under my kitchen sink. Made claim and paid $100. You sent repairman. It was damaged food disposal. You determined it was not a result of normal wear and tear. Repairman's estimate to replace was over $100 more than I had it done by other plumber. How am I as a consumer to determine normal wear and tear. Water heater removal and replacement is covered but if leak pan is installed; any pipe work is needed, AHS does not advise homeowner is responsible. There is no apparent oversight by AHS of charges for additional cost so homeowner is at the mercy of repair company.

AHS uses good contractors and work gets done fairly soon. I do wish you had an emergency service option for when heat goes out in the middle of winter or water is pouring out of a broken fixture...often 2-3 days before someone comes out.

AHS, were very fast to respond. The only issue I had was scheduling the installation of my water heater, calling several times, leaving messages, after 3 days of calling, I was able to speak to someone, just another point, the last phone call I was put on hold for 27 minutes.

It seems they hire subpar contractors for the jobs in the past. My most recent dealings were better than I've experienced in the past with American Home Shield actually I have thought about dropping this insurance and looking at someone else if I have continued issues with subpar contractors. I also had an issue with my dryer a year ago and they couldn't find a part for it and no one ever contacted me back from your company and my policy states repair or replace that didn't happen.
