It has been relatively simple to make appointments, and the reps are quite helpful. I just don't like the fact that it is almost impossible to replace a broken or near dead item. My HVAC is from 1995 and it really needs to be replaced. But you all will not not do it

Quick response to calls for repair. The customer service is not always the best because you speak with people all over the world who can't speak good English. The company gas replaced a hot water heater at cost of $1700, and our part was only $400. Also replaced heating and air system unit and we only had to pay installation.

AHS is fairly good to work with. They do not always have the best contractors though. I had a service from GREENWAY HOME SERVICES on 06/01/2022. I used a different vendor to install a HVAC Condenser as it saved me and AHS serious money. However after repeated calls to AHS i still cannot get my cash out. They have called Greenway at tleast 3 times to get the diagnosis but to no avail. How can AHS not force them to send it? I have had the work completed and still no cash out.

The appliance or issue is a rather serious one, you report it and AHS says the contractor will be in touch to schedule. Each time I've requested service it's a week or more out which can be problematic if it's a major appliance like a washer or dryer. It doesn't give me peace of mind if it's this length of wait especially if it's something major like a roof leak, a fridge that's completely failed or worse. I even called in a leaking skylight and still have t heard from anyone yet. That was two months ago. Im it feeling totally confident in my protection with AHS.

I scheduled my furnace because I had water leaking out of it. I called a few days later and asked them to ADD my air conditioner in case I needed it. When service person came he said he only had the AC on his service notes. I was Not happy at all. However, he was awesome and helped me with the problem and educated me on a few items.

AHS sent me the information of who was going to hit my Air conditioner. It was triple digits 100 plus and the company they sent to me said I had to wait 7 days before they could come to look at it. I called and told AHS that was unacceptable there are seniors in this house and to send someone else. Know they want me to wait another 48hr before they come look at it. I ended up paying for the service myself to get it done sooner. It's been 2 months and I still haven't received my check yet. I had called 3 times and was told the same thing twice. They said they were still waiting for the receipt which I had emailed them 2 months ago. They said I'm getting a check then it was I'll receive an email for my cash app. Then it was a check again, wait 2 more weeks. So yes I am not very happy with this service. AHS takes our deposit right away before ed anyone even comes but when it is time for your money to be given back to you it takes months. That's totally rediculas. That's why I gave AHS a 2. This rsting is not on the company that repaired my A/C. They w er re great.

The individuals addressing my main oven informed me I would have to find a contractor to disconnect the gas so the repair could be done. How ever on the oven downstairs AHS staed the installation of the replacement oven wouldinvolve the das being disconnected but they (AHS) would handle that. THis seems to make no sense to me why the gas disconnection for the main oven uptrairs is not handled by AHS.

Getting the washer/dryer service call problem resolved took multiple days of calling. In the end it worked out great, but it took over a week of calling daily to get things moving after the initial service call tech came out and then caused more damage than we had initially (the company let him go and AHS assigned a new tech to come out, but he said he could not do anything because of the damage done by the first tech). Then things went round and round with AHS until finally someone got things moving through the proper channels.

Call service was good, vendor response was good, but follow through and repairs not good. You might want to call me to get more details, but it seems like if the vendor can't get the part then you are denied for abuse or misuse. 14 1/2 year old cooktop is very good condition except the gas knobs that you can hardly read the temperatures was denied due to abuse or misuse. How can that be? 14 1/2 years of use and the only thing wrong is you can't read the temperaure on the dial????? Also, first appliance person came in and said he couldn't fix my refrigerator, I would get a new one, asked about the rubber seal that was failing, he made a comment why should he fix when I was going to get a new refrigerator. Second appliance company sent, on July 28th since hasn't called back with when the parts would be installed.

American home shield has changed in the last two years. No matter what service you call for when their contractors come to fix the issue there are so many excuses why they can fix it or do anything. There answer is your home warranty won't let us do this or that. They just look at the issue without trying and make up stories why they can't fix it. I just had a service call for a clogged drain a very simple fix the plumber only. Had a large snake and said he didn't have smaller snakes to fix my drain. He is a plumbing company they should have all size snakes. I ended fixing the issue for $12 just wasted $75 with American home shield. I am not the only customer with this happening to check Nextdoor and yelp apps. American home shield has very bad ratings and so does their contractors

For one issue- plumbing leak- they approved the fee and sent a good contractor. For the other issue related to a wall ac unit, they never sent anyone out and I am having to pay. $371 out of pocket when it should have been covered by this warranty.

I think coverage is adequate in most cases except for your coverage of refrigerant for air conditioning. You allow $10.00 per unit. The charge is actually $175.00 per unit. I believe you should allow more. I happened to need 3.5 units.

AHS fixed my dryer and everything went good. However, my hot water heater started leaking on July 13th, 2022. When I called AHS, they assigned me to a plumbing company which was very professional and good. After that is when the problem started. I was without HOT water for 3 weeks before the tank was delivered and brought to my home for installation. First the water heater was too big for the space where it had to sit. The box was damaged and the drain spout was sticking out of the box. With these things occurring, I refused the tank. At this time it is being sent back and a new one ordered. I'm still without HOT water. By the time I get it, it will be well over a month. I don't feel that was satisfactory service from AHS. Honestly, I feel I should have some type of compensation for the time I've had to wait for my hot water heater to be installed.

We are waiting for an oven hood to be changed for last 3 months. It was broken last October. After waiting for so many months ultimately home shield sent a new ovenhood but last 3 months we are waiting to get it installed. Every time, home shield sends it to a company but they are not contacting us. Every week, we call home shield and they are sending a new order to that company. That's it. Our sump pump was gone. We called home shield to give us a repair person ASAP since our basement was flooded. Home shield said , they cannot provide it anything right now. Then we told them if we would repair it and send the form for reimbursement. Answer is "You are your own.

When our refrigerator wasn't working it took one month to get the part. It is taking over 4 months to get part for our stove. W e have had to pay previously to have American home shield out for our stove and it was never really fixed so we are having to pay and wait again. The stove just needs to be replaced. We have had one item that was a quick easy fix which was our microwave. The cost has gone up substantially from when we originally signed up.

I didn't like AHS referring a contractor to me that was not approved by the Better Business Bureau. There is a lag between the time the service payment is made and when you receive service. If it's an emergency, you need that time shortened. When I phone the call center, I have a REALLY hard time understanding what the service rep is saying. There is a LOT of background noise and there is poor communication. Their English language is not clear for me to understand and they, sometimes, don't understand me. That is VERY frustrating for me when I'm trying to get support/assistance.

They took the monthly payment out of my account two days early and overdraft er my account. Then they said they gave me two months premiums for free for the inconvenience. And now they are sending me emails every other day saying my payment is behind. Every time I call I get somebody in the Philippines that doesn't understand what I'm trying to tell them. My dryer appointment was canceled twice. Yet I was the one that had to go to their website to reschedule. Ridiculous, I wasted days taken off from work. AS withdrew the money from my account and yet the contractor has yet to do the work. In addition, without authorization the contractor shipped parts to my home which is an inconvenience to me . The coverage is pretty solid for the price, at least when you first start. They doubled our monthly rate in only 2 years. As for the contractors they sent out, it was about 50/50 on if they really fixed the issue or did so temporarily so that it'd break again in a few months. Their customer service was tricky to navigate, especially when trying to cancel your plan. I ended up going with another company due to them continually raising prices.

The two times we've needed immediate help, they were unavailable. First poor experience was when our tenant experienced a backup in their plumbing, and AHS plumber was unable to get out to take care of it....which then cost us $600......next situation is actually happening as I type. Tenants air conditioning went out ( in Arizona with 100+ weather) and caused the family with two small children to have to go stay somewhere else. Could not even guarantee they could get a tech out there on Monday. Very disappointing. Very likely we will have to obtain our own A/C tech and once again pick up the tab.

Dishwasher went on the blink. Called for service could only get on the schedule one week later. Serviceman repaired but two washes later dishwasher went on blink again. Got on schedule again another week later, scheduled for an afternoon repair. Repairman showed up in the morning and, of course, I was not home. Tried to schedule again but the only time slot was while I was out of town. Scheduled again after returning. Again was given an afternoon appoint and repairman showed up early. I missed him again. Called repairman and he said he only does repairs in my area in the morning. Made another appointment, scheduler tried to give another afternoon appointment. Told scheduler the repairman only worked in my area in the AM so she changed the appointment for a morning repair. Repairman worked on the dishwasher for over an hour then declared it could not be fixed. Said he would let the office know and they would make a decision to give me a new dishwasher. Instead of ordering me a new dishwasher, I've been given a different repair company. This has been about 6 weeks without a dishwasher. This is the first time I've used the AHS service. Pretty poor start and not as advertised - if we can't fix it, we will give you a new appliance.
