Dear everyone. DONT USE THIS SYSTEM. Long story short it’s truly the WORRRRST system I’ve ever used. These overpriced cameras don’t work. Sensors fell off the door setting my alarm off in the middle of the night. Tech took my old security equipment with him without my permission and vivint is not taking responsibility for that. I’ve had alarms on my homes for a decade and I’ve never experienced something so bad. DON’T BUY INTO THIS.

They talked us into getting the wireless thermostat. Once our contract was up we cancelled their service. After paying on a thermostat for 4 years we have a worthless piece of equipment because our wireless thermostat no longer works. They locked us out of our app!! With what I paid over 4 years for this thermostat I could have purchased two thermostats and still have access to them. Such a ripoff that they lock you out of the thermostat

Horrible scam. Monitoring service fee very expensive. Have to pay off equipment before you can cancel which I did after 18 months. Can not possibly rate them any lower. After cancelling two months ago they have continued to charge me and I have to call to get it credited back. Stay away, stay away. Horrible company. My opinion and its justified. Did I say stay away? They are terrible.

I have had Vivint for over 3 and a half years. I have had problems with the camera, sensors, auto front door lock, router, and main control panel during that time. During phone calls I have been directed to online troubleshooting and told to have a nice day. Only after complaining online was I offered a tech. All of this for over $700 a year, 5 year minimum.

Listen to these negative reviews. This company is terrible. I can't see how they have ANY 3 star reviews let alone a 4 or 5. And my mind, they are all computer robts. Fake profiles. Terrible service. My equipment failed 4 months into service and it will cost me to have them send someone to fix it. Just so it can break 4 months later. I take 60 dollars of hard earned money a year, and throw it in the trash. No monthly service from them I just pay to have broken equipment in my house.

They’re a terrible company to deal with. The cameras haven’t worked in over a month and I have 13 months left on the contract yet they refuse to fix it unless I extend the contract 48 months. Now I have to pay for an entire year of non-working service or they’ll turn me in to collections or whatever. I’m basically paying for a product I can’t use and they’re trying to extort another 48 months out of me.

The installation process is riddled with smoke and mirrors. 3 cameras, 2 sensors, and 3 door sensors for $1,500. On top of that its $50/month to monitor, which has to be an industry high. Our first technician broke stuff in my home and did not tell us. Wiring is a mess and holes in the wall. Now I cannot get out of the contract. Go with someone else.

I have been with this company for a while and do not know how they are still in business. Just google the company and you will see all of the complaints. They increase the price every year and the service if crap. The equipment is just as bad and this company seem not to care. What a horrible experience charging a monthly service fee for equipment that does not work.

The installation was a nightmare. We had an installer who came at 10:30, almost 11:00 P.M., complained about how tired he was, and went home. He did not come back for nearly a week, and then cancelled the next appointment by calling in as me, the customer, to cancel. The company did nothing about it. The service is expensive, and while we live in a safe neighborhood, I cannot wait until we have paid the freaking loan so we can get out from under this lousy company. They are extremely unresponsive to customer concerns and issues, and seem unable to understand that the customer comes first.

I signed up for service. The representative told me the contract was for a year. After I started experiencing problems I found out the contract was for 5 years. I called to complain and cancel and I couldn’t cancel. The service is no good. The equipment fails and I have to pay for a technician to come out. I am very unhappy with this service. I was lied to by the service representative. I see why because that’s the only way to keep customers.

We have three places with Vivent Equipment and Monitoring. I wished I had researched them prior. VERY DISSATISFIED. After install service terrible. Most recent, my residence, Main Module keeps locking up and door cam goes on and off. I have had several visit since the initial install, 4 months ago. It still keeps locking up and I cannot reset, activate or anything. I called and spoke to "MITCH", will not stop talking to listen. Poor Service and cheap products. DO NOT BUY!

I made the mistake of buying this equipment, the seller told me that they had a lifetime guarantee, the sad reality is that this system does not work and if you stop paying the subscription you do not have any guarantee for the equipment you bought, the other problem with this service is that they are happy triggers reporting the police every time the alarm sounds regardless of the owner is identified and report that it was false, the police charged $ 100 for each false call.

Purchased and had this installed in my home about a year and a half ago. Equipment doesn’t work correctly. Control oanel constantly needs reset, indoor camera connectivity is terrible, and now they won’t allow me to cancel service until rhe eauipment is paid off! What!?! So that is how they trap you, don’t buy a system through this company!!!!!

I am very unhappy with Vivint and still have over 2 1/2 years left on my 5 year contract...I am paying over $85 a month for equipment and monitoring...Some of this equipment is not working well then they charge over $50 to come out to repair the equipment after spending hours on the phone. I was not told about this service charge in advance....The equipment still didn't work after they came...I can't wait to have my contract end so I can go to a better security company...I am a very unhappy customer.

I have been with Vi'vent for over 2 yrs now and they are terrible. Camera's don't work all the time,panel loses contact a lot. They did not tell me it was a 5 yr contract. I have moved 2 times a year apart. Each time they charge $129. to disconnect and $129 to reconnect. They also try to force you to buy new equipment even though you have new equipment already. They are the worst company I have ever had service of any kind with. It's like impossible to get thru to someone to help you with a problem. Please don't ever get any products from this company, they will rip you off big time.

This company is a joke. They told us that we had three days to cancel the transaction for installation payment and 30 day trial period. The equipment malfunctioned constantly and they canceled work orders and never let us know. Now they are trying to tell me that the 3 day transaction cancellation was for the contract and that we were never given a 30 day trial period. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This company needs to be shut down and also reimburse all the people that they have ripped off. HORRIBLE COMPANY. BEWARE!

I wouldn't refer this company to an enemy. Me and family went out of town for a graduation and my house was burglarized and the alarm company didnt call the police or notify me or any numbers on my account. Only thing they said was call my insurance company and they will come out and put a new panel on. I told them why would I pay for a service that didnt work the first time and after them not trying to compensate or fix it. They said give them 90 days and I did just for them to send it to collections. DONT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. WORTHLESS. I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A 0 STAR.

Don't waste your time here with this company. They charge you an hundreds and have crap equipment. When you have problems with there equipment, they charge you for a technician,... now repeat every other month, and lately, make that every week, wasting an hour or more on every call, plus waiting hours for the technician to arrive and di his job. THIS MUST BE WHAT HELL IS LIKE, REPEATING OVER AND OVER AND OVER.......

Vivint is horrible ..... I’m paying for equipment that I never received and when I called them about to they said it will be another charge. They are a ripoff. The camara barely works and the network is always off. Someone broke in my outhouse 3x and each time the system was offline smh. Earlier this year some guys broke into my friend home and stabbed her son to death. They only the police was able to catch the guys was one of the killers blood at the scene. Again Vivint system was down. This company is awful so please say away from them.

It took Vivint 6 service trips out here to finally get it right, excluding the first technician who drilled holes in my metal gutters to mount the cameras. The cameras rusted out and had to be replaced. Once they "hard wired" the cameras, my system has worked perfectly ever since,but having 6 technicians in my house over a 9 month period was not fun. I'd recommend you go elsewhere.

This is useless to use Vivint. We had a person walk into our yard where the cameras are in focus and the person went onto my patio of the back of my home again where the cameras are and I was not alerted nor did the cameras show the person entering my yard, patio or anything other than this person's truck pulling up to my home. Not the first time this has happened. and they won't let you out of a contract. What is the use to having Vivant and cameras if it doesn't alert you when someone is on your property. Never use.

Agreed to get the salesman give me his pitch. He was polite and nice when he thought a sale was going to happen. After discussing and asking questions, decided to decline. He became rude, made nasty personal comments to me and my husband. Price was outrageous and they wanted to install that same night - it was already 8:30 pm and he hadn't even scheduled the installation yet. Very high pressure, horrible sales staff. Will NEVER use Vivint.

First, my front door would lock remotely, then the garage door wouldn't open remotely, now my thermostat will not work. Each phone call resulted in the agent not being able to fix so for a fee a technician can come to the house. I had to wait to close my account, I get emails trying to retain my business but still no attempt to fix my issues. This is why contracts are a bad idea. This is the worst service I have ever experienced.

We sold our house and the new buyer wanted to keep the system from Vivent. The house was no longer ours as of Feb. 20, 2018 so we had no problem paying for Feb. The problem was they took out for the month of March also. Since March I have made many many calls to try to get my money returned to me. Each time they tell me that I should receive a check within two weeks. The weeks come and go and still no check. And each time they say the same thing. The check is in the mail. The amount be only 59.00 but now It's the principal of the whole thing.

Vivint Home Security is a total "Rip Off", if you payoff your equipment, they'll have you paying the same amount until you notify them that you paid the equipment off, and won't give you credit for the over payments you made. They also tell you that they'll give you a discount on your service if you extend your agreement for 36 months, but they don't tell you that they are only give you a discount for 12 months. I would have never agreed to that if I knew that. You fooled me once Vivint but never again you scam artist!!!

Absolutely terrible system. Continuous problems with the doorbell camera, the door alerts don't function, the glass break function no longer works, would not recommend to anyone. Called customer service and had to go through quite a few people who all told me I needed to talk to someone different. Finally got someone who told me there would be a charge to come fix it. Do NO use this company. You will regret it.

If I could give it a zero I would. I made an appt in April to have my service transferred June 25 to my new home. They canceled THREE minutes before the appt and I still do not have one and spent HOURS on the phone with them. I have to pay my bill but I have no security system. I am at a loss as nobody will help me from there. HORRIBLE to treat customers like this. A travesty!

WORST EVER! In Alaska we are charged $70/mo. The equipment is unreliable, the techs seem to be uninformed, the salesmen are LIARS!, and once you are locked into your 5 YEAR CONTRACT, good luck trying to get out. I will spend as much time as possible trying to discredit these crooks. DO NOT GO WITH VIVINT. Read these reviews and you will see for yourself.

They set up the payment system in a way where you are unable to cancel your service until the length of the term has occurred. There is no buy out fee because you have financed your equipment which makes you use their service until the equipment is paid off. With other companies you can at least buy out the contract and save money if you choose to do so. This company has figured out a way for that to not occur.

We had been longterm customers of Vivint, and very satisfied. Then in January 2017, they needed to update our panel. Okay. But that started a new contract with them, apparently. We then sold our home, moved South to a trailer in a county park where there is poor to nonexistent phone service. Vivint came out, ascertained we could no longer use the service, and we were assured we would no longer be billed. That was in November. We are still getting their bill automatically deducted from our credit card account. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THESE PEOPLE TELL YOU.

Vivint is the worst company ever. I had it installed in november 2017, 2 months later it went off line. They claimed it was the internet(lies). In Feburary it worked o k until one of the cameras were changing colors on me. Then in March, it went off line again. I called customer service and demanded they close my contract. The woman told me they will charge my cc# on file the remaining balance plus a fee, i said fine just cancel my contract i'll take the loss. What a waste of money. I feel like an abused woman. Stay away!!!!!!!

I've had to call this company several times for the same issue. The equipment will go offline. when I call the company I will have to stay on the line 30-40 minutes for them to run test and reboot the system, which never works. The will always have to send a tech out and charge me $45.00 for have him come out to fix their defective product. I have requested this contract be cancelled and they will not cancel it without charging me 2 arms and 3 legs. I will never refer anyone else to this company. I can't wait for this contract to be up. I will never do any business with this company again.

I would give them a zero if possible. I had signed up for a consultation appointment. In the meantime, my plans changed and needed to cancel. Their customer service department transferred me three different times, and each time tried to use high pressure tactics to get me not to cancel!!! Why would I want them to keep my $50 for three months that I would not be moving.....Bad experience, would never use them when I do finally move!!!!

After asking please do not tamper with the intercom system while attempting to install doorbell. My request was completely ignored....they broke my system as well as failing to install doorbell. Three yrs later “no doorbell”! Problems have been endless. I have tried numerous times to cancel my contract to no avail. It seems the bottom line is their only concern, not their customers. Their only redeeming quality ....majority of their employees!!! Other than the employees I give them NO stars!

I would never recommend this company my system has not worked for six months and you call they want you to do all there troubleshooting crawl in the attic 5 or 6 times to reset their equipment go look for power source to reset doorbell camera and you ask over and over to just send out a tec and then they want to hit you up for more $$$$$$$ but when you call to cancel your service they want to get someone out the same day just unbelievable

I cannot rate them at all, they say that when I got a door sensor replace, I agreed to another five year contract, the system isn't even on, the outlet that it was plugged into isn't even working, but oh when I spoke to Elizabeth at Vivint she says that they are still monitoring my home, well they can't be it's not even plugged in, steer clear, system not working, but they still want to charge you. The rep who got me signed the contract was a con artist. He lied about most. I had already security in my house installed so they did not have to add much equipment. When I called customer service that I want installed timer that they promised they said I have to pay for it. When I wanted to cancel contract they would change me over $1000. The equipment that they put up was probably worth $100. Do not sign up with them.

We have been with Vivint little over a year and I hate this security company. We've have had nothing but issues after issues with them. A technician came out to repair the system and I received an extra charge on my monthly bill. I was told initially that my monthly bill would be $39.99 a month and now it has gone up to $69.99. Plus I am stuck with them for 3 years.

DO NOT use this company! We tried to cancel with them, AFTER our contract was up. For months and months they said it was cancelled, but continued to take monthly payments from our bank account. I sent a scathing letter to the UTAH Better Business Bureau via the internet. 3 days later we got a call from Vivint and our money refunded. Our next step would have been the Utah Attorney General.

If I could give 0 Stars I would. Customer service is polite but unresponsive to correct issues with cameras not working. I have had the system for 8 months and have been forced to reboot the system 2-4 times PER DAY! They have replaced the camera and the control panel. They blame my internet speed and bandwidth for the issues. They failed to show twice for appointments and are constantly late for the 4 hour window they provide. I called three time to update the main phone number and they failed to do that as well

My husband and I have had a issue with Vivint from day 1. The customer service sucks. they do not know what to do and you just keep being transferred from one person to another that don't know anything. There's no getting out of a contract with them no matter what. The Rep that signed us up was not the person who signed the contract. And I would consider that fraud, they don't. To them it's all about the money and not what's right. My advice is stay away from these cut-throats.

Worst customer service ever. If you sign up with this horrible vendor, be aware you'll have to jump through hoops to cancel it. My father in law died, my mother in law declared incompetent and weeks after I submitted the requested paperwork, we had a false alarm and another payment was deducted for service. Supervisors won't get on the phone to talk to customers and agents are ill informed and unable to handle even the simplest request. Don't do business with these people!

Would NEVER recommend this company. Their equipment works sporadically and I have had to have repair service several times in the short time we have had the system. Did not realize the contract was long term and thought I was told it was for two years only. AND, last but not least, a car was stolen from our drive. The cameras did not show anyone coming onto the property, but did show them backing out of the drive in the car. The police found the vehicle two days later. System supposed to cover the entire drive, but didn't do its job. Waste of our money.

Vivint installed home automation and security equipment that never worked properly from the first day. Unfortunately we believed that eventually they would resolve the issues. However by the time we figured out Vivint only cares about the sale, we were locked into a contract. After 5 years we had fulfilled our contract and requested that service be terminated via a written letter. After six months of additional charges we had to cancel our credit card on file to ceases the charges. Worst service company we have ever used. Do not use Vivint

Absolutely the worst customer service anywhere! Have had them for a few years....have a problem...they tell us it will take them 1 month to get to us to fix the problem, then when our date arrives...they say their Tech quit...now we have to wait longer. All they do is take your money and provide no customer service when you need it....very limited areas too....STAY AWAY from Vivint!!!

Vivint is absolutely the worst system out there! Don't let them con you into getting one. Not only does it not work properly, but it's waaay too expensive! I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! All I want them to do at this point is come remove the garbage from my house! They're not getting their money anyway, so why not come and repo it???
