Welcome to our OmniGuard Security review! OmniGuard Security is a locally owned and operated security alarm company who serves the Portland Metro area, as well as the Oregon Coast and Southern Oregon. They offer residential and commercial security alarm services and a wide variety of automation functionalities. Unfortunately, OmniGuard Security doesn't publish any pricing information on their website; however, in this review, we'll go over in detail what they have to offer. Then you can decide whether or not you choose to contact them for a quote.

Top Ranked Companies

The Good

  • Glowing Reviews
  • App
  • Cellular Wireless System
OmniGuard Security has glowing reviews such as an Angie's List Super Service Award Winner several years in a row, a multitude of five-star reviews on Yelp, and won the 2015 Best of Lake Oswego Award. Additionally, this company utilizes the app so you can interactively control your system remotely. The app will allow you to arm and disarm your system from any mobile device, view your home in real-time and control all your home automation features. It will also allow you to setup geofence mobile alerts that will trigger if you've forgotten to set your alarm, etc. The OmniGuard Security systems are completely wireless so they don't require any landlines. They use wireless sensors and control panels that can be easily installed with adhesive tape. Additionally, they use cellular connectivity which is the most secure option you can choose because there are no lines that can be cut. Additionally, a cellular system doesn't rely on the internet either.

The Bad

  • Prices Not Disclosed
  • No Contract Information Provided
  • Warranty or Money-Back Guarantee Not Transparent

Unfortunately, OmniGuard Security does not provide any pricing on their website. That means you have to contact them if you want pricing for anything they have to offer. However, that could also mean they will customize a plan for you so you don't have to pay for features you don't use. But they don't specify either way on their website so you'll have to contact them for more information. OmniGuard Security doesn't disclose whether or not they require you to sign a contract for their services on their website, but on the phone they stated they have 36-month contracts. Additionally, they don't state what their cancellation policy is and how much it would cost if you choose to cancel your services prior to the end of your contract if they have one. It's also not clear whether this company offers any type of money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied with their products and services. Additionally, it's also not clear if they offer any type of warranty either. We would like to see them provide these peace of mind features and prominently display them on their website. This could provide their customers the extra assurance they need to make a commitment to OmniGuard and to using their products and services.

The Bottom Line

OmniGuard Security has a wide variety of positive reviews and awards to show they are meeting or exceeding their customers' expectations. And, they use that allows their users to access, monitor, and control their systems remotely and in real-time. We also like the fact that they use a totally wireless cellular system which is the most secure type of system available. However, we would like to see them add some pricing examples to their website, or at least a starting price for their services. This would help their customers determine whether or not they can actually afford those services before wasting their time having to call. Additionally, we also feel they should add some basic contract information to their website so people can make an educated decision about whether or not this company is a good fit without having to take the time to call.

Neil L Bend, OR

I became an OmniGaurd customer in January of 2016. I selected them because I was told there was no long term agreement. I even justified their relatively high monthly cost due to this (mis)understanding. The document I signed clearly states there is. Although the blame is mine, I feel I was verbally misled. With all the legaleaze that accompanies so many services one buys, I want to alert other customers to pay close attention when dealing with this company. The sums involved are quite large. Their agreement is 36 months and the prices are high. Terminating would cost me just short of nine hundred dollars. That said, I really can't stomach the irony of these guys protecting my house from thieves.
