Because Frontpoint has high-tech, robust security packages, upfront costs are a little high. The upfront cost for a security system can be high when compared to other home security companies, especially if you choose a more advanced plan.

Possible Long-Term Monitoring Contracts

Full-service monitoring subscriptions are either month-to-month or require a 36-month contract. The length of the contract depends on the type of system package purchased. 

Those who subscribe to the 36-month contract are subject to an early termination fee of 80 percent of the remaining monthly charges of the contract term. Customers should check the subscription policy of their selected package before checking out. 

Frontpoint does not have any self-monitoring options, unlike other DIY installers. This equipment is useless without a subscription to the monitoring service. However, the benefits of the monitoring service may outweigh the higher cost.
