Founded in 2007, Frontpoint Security Solutions LLC is a nationwide do-it-yourself security option with optional professional installation services that can be added for an additional fee.
Frontpoint offers five security packages, all including a completely wireless security system monitored by a certified monitoring station through a cellular signal.
Frontpoint home security does not require long-term contracts for its alarm system, making its services month-to-month agreements. According to a number of Frontpoint reviews from customers, Frontpoint's main competitive advantage is its exceptional customer service.
Frontpoint strives to combat many of the issues prevalent in the security industry, namely a reputation of high-pressure sales, poor customer service, and hidden fees. According to current customers, Frontpoint's overall service is unmatched in the industry, and some even claim it's the best customer service department they've ever worked with.
Frontpoint's home security services start at $44.99 per month. Upfront package costs range from $255.96 to $479.90. The higher-priced packages include additional security equipment, security cameras, and live video streaming. Frontpoint also has no hidden fees for its monitoring service or.
Frontpoint offers 20% off its smart home security every day as part of its standard offer. This price will be additionally discounted for seasonal specials. The prices we list below take into account the 20% off offering.
Frontpoint doesn't want to stick you with a standard system with limited options. Frontpoint believes you should have the versatility and customization to create a home security system that will work best for you and your family, so the company gives customers the ability to build their own home security packages.
You can create your own customized package on Frontpoint's website. 40 percent of Frontpoint’s customers choose to build their own security package.
Every piece of equipment on the home security company's website includes a picture of the product, a detailed description, and the exact price of each item.
If you are on Frontpoint's website and are going through the customization process, you will first start with the Frontpoint Hub + Keypad, which is Frontpoint's central station command center that comes with every purchase.
Second, you will select your add-ons, such as intrusion sensors, video doorbell, indoor and outdoor camera, environmental sensors, and home automation products.
If you decide to select a pre-arranged security package, Frontpoint has five to choose from:
In addition to a variety of home security packages, Frontpoint has multiple professional monitoring plans to choose from. Both plans include 24/7 protection, home security control, as well as home automation capabilities. There are two monitoring plans to choose from:
It's important to note that all Frontpoint security systems come with safe and reliable cellular monitoring at no extra cost and easy and portable wireless monitoring at no extra cost. All of Frontpoint’s security systems also come with geo-location services as well as Crash and Smash protection, ensuring burglars can't disarm the system by destroying the control panel.
Frontpoint is an authorized GE dealer and offers equipment options beyond the traditional control panel and door/window sensors for its alarm systems. Frontpoint’s Hub and Keypad system has 4G LTE, making emergency communications up to 100x faster than many security companies in the industry. Additionally, tri-path connectivity allows for Wi-Fi, Cellular, and Ethernet connection.
Frontpoint equipment provides full protection from intrusion, fire, environmental, and even medical emergencies. Home automation devices utilize z-wave devices and technology for easy setup and control.
Frontpoint equipment also has Crash and Smash protection and 24-hour battery backup in case the power goes out. Equipment is also compatible with Alexa and Google Home. Frontpoint equipment and individual pricing is as follows:
Frontpoint systems, including all Frontpoint security cameras, are compatible with the Frontpoint mobile app for remote access and adjustments. The mobile app is available to all new customers and is free to download on all mobile app stores. App functionalities include the following:
Additionally, the company has a no hidden fees policy, meaning what you see is what you get. As such, Frontpoint is upfront with monthly costs and individual equipment cost. The security provider even provides individual specs for each of its products online, so potential customers know exactly what they're getting.
Frontpoint also has a price-lock guarantee, so your monthly monitoring cost will never fluctuate.
Frontpoint's easy, DIY home security installation takes less than 30 minutes, and because all equipment is 100 percent wireless and operates on cellular monitoring signals, there's no need for wires or tools.
Frontpoint pre-programs all equipment to make the installation process as simple as possible, and all equipment is easy peel-and-stick installation. This means no installation fees for customers. Frontpoint’s mobile app will also walk you through the installation process.
All Frontpoint alarm systems come with a 30-day risk-free trial. This money-back guarantee takes the pressure off a long-term contract and ensures you are completely satisfied with Frontpoint's service.
Frontpoint offers a three-year warranty for all of its security products. This warranty is available for all new customers. If any of your Frontpoint equipment malfunctions within three years of purchase, Frontpoint will replace the products free of charge.
All new Frontpoint customers will not have to sign into a lengthy contract agreement. All plans are now month to month. This is an improvement from Frontpoint’s old requirement of 12- to 36-month contracts. This also means Frontpoint no longer requires cancellation fees.
Most home security companies require three-year contracts, so Frontpoint is ahead of the competition by not requiring long-term contracts and cancellation fees going forward.
Frontpoint will soon provide financing options to its customers through Affirm. The date this will be available is to be determined, but it is in the works. Once this financing is available, equipment costs will lower and customers will not have to pay any money upfront for their chosen security plan.
Frontpoint does not require a credit check to receive financing, so customers don’t have to worry about their credit score being affected or influencing their eligibility for financing.
Because Frontpoint has high-tech, robust security packages, upfront costs are a little high. The upfront cost for a security system may reach as high as $479 if a customer chooses the most advanced plan.

When our alarm went off..someone call right away and sent the police asap....we were so relieved nothing was wrong, and our pets were safe!!!
Nothing..horrible products and customer service
Needs better equipment not to happy with this system.. It hasn't been active in months. Gives out false warnings all the time.
Customer service is the best! Always responsive and friendly.
Chun Hao Yang
Every time when I contacted customer rep when having issues with the system, I always receive prompt responses to resolve my issue.
Whenever u call they are so helpful and patient.
Used to like more. Last issue I had to call twice and rep wasn't the friendliest. Also alarm has gone off for what felt like a long period and no one calls. If there was a serious situation...... so I dont feel safe and feel I pay too much for what I get. Will be shopping around soon.
Their customers service is great. But some of their sales reps are slimy. The contract signed will make you continue to pay for the plan throughout a certain time frame- no way out period. This is in the contact, you even initial next to it. I was in a dangerous situation with an ex when I called and should have read what I was initialing next too, granted. But they NEVER said this. They never literally said this is a 2year contract or you will have to continue paying this until the contract ends. Buy out is not the price of equipment either, it’s some stupid high percentage of what you would have paid if you finished out the contract. For this reason, I don’t recommend them. I think that it’s slimy to treat people who truly needed help that way and then say “whelp, you initialed so there’s nothing we can do” I agree I should have read the fine print I tested of trusting them to be upfront and open and honest like a 3 company would be.
Worst experience ever! I can only presume that Frontpoint’s Mission Statement is “We’ll secure your home, but we’ll invade your bank account!” Frontpoint made an unauthorized debit of $191 from my bank account in January 2021. I had just called in payments during October, and November 2020; having opted to call in payments rather than authorizing them to make recurring debits. Despite that arrangement, and despite the two recent payments I made, Frontpoint charged and withdrew nearly two hundred dollars without any prior verbal consent from me to do so. I felt violated. The company could have utilized appropriate recourse instead; they could have simply terminated my service, forwarded my account to collections and followed due process. But instead, they behaved like the proverbial “thief in the night” themselves!
Wait times for customer service can be extremely, long sometimes
Loved being able to setup everything myself
So far it's been 3, great customer service. No need to improve.
I was a customer for 4 years and last year I started having problems. one early morning the alarm went off and it was so queit I couldn't even hear it up stairs with the house dead silent. Nothing was tripped but for some reason it went off for minutes and I never received a call from frontpoint, I'm glad me or my family weren't actually hurt and in need of first responders.... Then a few months later the system wouldn't even let me arm it and kept giving me errors. I went online chat multiple times and they said they passed the word along and someone would be contacting me and nobody ever did. Then after calling multiple times and being put on hold I finally decided enough was enough and I was done with their poor customer support and was going to cancel. I called in december of 2020 to cancel and when I told them I wanted to cancel they kept trying to tell me they had new equipment to upgrade...why were they just now telling me this? I said I wanted to cancel anyway and he kept putting me on hold trying to get someone to give me a deal or something to change my mind even though I didn't want it. I assumed I had cancelled but then January comes around and they billed me $45 dollars . I called and talked to the rudest individual I've ever dealt with in Customer service. He said I had to fill out some form to actually cancel and that they would be charging me another month as well before it went though. I said absolutely not. Nowhere in my contract that ended over a year ago did it say I had to fill out a paper to cancel and then pay for an additional month that I wasn't even going to use...what type of craziness is that??? He basically laughed in my face. So I called my credit card company and changed my card number and dealt with all the hassle of having to redo all my other monthly bills that were on that card just because frontpoint treated me that way. Then, I just look and somehow they have charged me for FEB!?!? I honestly think I should be reimbursed for the 6months of having an unusable system but I absolutely am not paying for JAN and FEB. I would rather spend $20,000 in legal fees to sue Frontpoint than to give them one more penny. This company will act like you are so important to them when you are purchasing their product but then they will treat you like garbage once you are a customer. Take it from me, this is how they treated me after 4 years of service. I never ever write reviews for anything good or bad but I am making it my new mission in life to tell as many people as I possibly can to stay away from this company as possible. I'm in the process of paying someone to build me a website dedicated to informing the public of just how terrible this company really is.

They are helpful answering questions and walking you though set up; response is quick if alarm is triggered
Very dependable in an area where others could not provide services.
Terrible; camera rarely works especially when needed. Issue persisting for 2 years with no resolve. Told I'd be sent a new camera and never was. Randomly stops recording and storing videos for no identifiable reason. App won't pull up live feed most of the time. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I'll be switching when my contract is up.

I like how I was able to install my own system

When the monitoring company calls they show up as a spam call
Promptly calling us when our sensors are activated. Always very helpful when we ask them questions over the phone.

Easy set up and all calls answered quickly by a real person.
Terrible. Inflexible customer service. Prices are too high. Once you're in. Contract, you can never get out even if you sell the house.

Products work - reliable - responsive - easy to set-up and maintain
My alarm went off a couple of times and we did not hear it
3 customer service, easy to install and use
It just seemed like a good deal but I can play pretty darn easy. When I've dealt with support they've helped solve problems so it's pretty good. Easy to set up.
I chose them for the easy setup and the price. You can have as much or as little as you would like to depending upon your individual security needs, meaning you can use the wireless remotes that you can purchase in addition to or you can use the app on your phone. Customer support is very friendly extremely knowledgeable and you don't have to wait for someone to handle the needs that you're calling in for so. They offered very reasonable prices and the equipment provided is good if not better than any other competitors that's available on the market today.
I like that we own the equipment and we don't lease it. They stay on top of the monitoring. Rates are very reasonable.
You guys always answer any questions that I have a concern.
I like the concept of the wireless mechanism and its the items available from my system, but the monitor is a little expensive. I like the phone app where I can see what all my devices are doing. I actually have two devices, the one is to my home and one is that to another place. I haven't had any failures everything seems to be operating properly. Every time I call them they're right on top of they walk me through it. We get everything resolved and we're good to go. Keep up the good work, I'm satisfied with it.
I've had a lot of long wait time and I've had at times were customer service we are not able to fix my issue. I currently have issues with their products and for some odd reason they're not sure why this is happening.

When I need to call customer service, they connect me with an actual person easily. I like feeling safe when going out of town having this system. One thing I wish they would improve is adding on free things to loyal customers. I've been with them for several years and wish they'd offer new free things to existing customers.
They have more economic pricing for their system. They are very fast and responsive. The installation was easy but I wish their equipment were better quality.
Their customer service department is quick to handle any issues I have. The equipment has no problems and you can arm and disarm the system from your phone.
Their system is easy to use. I would recommend it to a friend.
I went with Frontpoint because they're convenient. Their customer service is good.
Their system is very easy to use. I like the flexibility and reliability of the security system. I've had excellent customer service from them as well.
My friends referred me to Frontpoint and I'm glad they did because they are very quick, concise, and helpful. We've had quite a few sensors stop working unfortunately, but I like that I can use my cell phone to monitor the system.
We went with Frontpoint because of their cost and the ease of installation. Their customer service is quick to respond and solve any of my issues quickly. You can monitor your system from multiple mobile devices and it's very easy to use.
They offer a great price for a wonderful service. Their customer service department has great knowledge and responsiveness. They really know their products and have a long lasting system.
Frontpoint is great at responding to you when you have a problem. Their motion detector doesn't work and will turn off or make a sound when it shouldn't. I like that I can turn the system on and off from my phone.
After I was told I'd get a return call from customer support, I waited over a week and a half to hear back from someone. I've only had problems with one sensor, because all the other ones have worked great. They are good at calling back when an alarm is triggered.
Whenever I've needed to call this company about fixing or replacing something, they send something out to fix it. When an alarm goes off, they're good at calling me back. Their security system is durable and holds up for a long time. It's easy to use and the keypad can be handheld if you don't want to mount it somewhere on your wall.
I went with Frontpoint because they offered a great product and service. Sometimes my system gets disconnected and a tech works with me to fix it. The service was excellent in rectifying the problem. Everything in the system works and on the rare occasion that something goes out they replace it at no cost to me.
I've had Frontpoint for 7 years and have had great experiences with them. In all those years of talking to customer service when I need help, only one of them wasn't very kind. We got two new doors and couldn't find the sensors we wanted anymore since they were discontinued, so that was a bummer. The system is easy to use and makes me very happy overall.
Most of the time that I call with an issue, they get the problem resolved. Lately I've had some false alarms where it'll tell me my doors are open when they're not, so I think there is a lack of quality in their product. The absolute best thing about this company is the ability to access my security system via my cellular device. One thing I wish they would change is creating a doorbell that doesn't have to be hardwired.

I like that you can install your security system yourself. It allows you to talk to your kids on the system.
This company calls you promptly and give you a person to call if you need help with something. I've had their sensors in my house for about five years and I've never had them fail. The system is reliable and easy to install.
I went with Frontpoint to be my business' security system because they have a lower monthly payment than other companies. They are usually very attentive when I call and they answer my questions with no issues. We had some initial issues with the sticky stuff they provided to mount our base, but we were able to figure it out with them. I really like the app they have to monitor and use the system. I wish they had a better system for billing invoices to businesses.
I'm very disappointed with this company. They don't keep true to their word, keep you on hold for forever, and have horrible equipment. The system breaks easily and is overpriced. We had issues with our system and they didn't fix it for a long time then tried to act all nice even though they were not going to help us out.
