I have nothing good to say about Alder. I’ve left a review before and my opinion has not changed at all. I can’t get past the rudeness of the lady that answered the phone when I called on day 29 of receiving my system to tell them I hadn't tried it yet. And the sales man was pushy also.

Well to be honest my back door sensor went out 3 months ago. I talk with customer service bout this was the second time it went out no response. My alarm was triggered because door was not fully closed the response team called and ask if it was a false alarm and I said yes but still had the local mpd come out and I was charged.

They are not a company that I will ever use again. They are shady and unwilling to work with its customers. They try to trick you into a contract when you clearly state you can not be in a contract. Then they try to make you pay an outrageous price for their service that you will not even be getting.

Equipment is out of date. Lots of false alarms. When you call them you go through 4 it 5 different people and you still get no correct answer. Alarm was going off and they could not shut it off and could not come out for 5 days. Unacceptable.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALDER, I rarely write reviews but I just need warn people that this is an absolutely horrible company to deal with. AVOID them at all costs or it may cost you a LOT. I ordered an alder system over a year ago but for many family and health related issues have not been able to install the system. The system has never been activated yet I continue to be charged $58 dollars monthly for nothing. I have paid all the bills to date thinking I may have the opportunity to install the system but have not been able. I recently (20 Dec 2023) called to again ask them to cancel my policy and told them I would return the unopened equipment and they could keep all the money I have paid them to date for no service. They now tell me that I have a 60 month/no-cancellation contract and have NO choice but to pay the remaining contract fees to buy my way out of the alleged contract or keep my system. They then offered to install it - but I would have to wait over three months for that to happen. But honestly, I've lost total faith and all good will with this company!!! This has taken way too much of my time and energy at this point in my life. This company has no heart, no compassion and in my experience is unscrupulous in its business practices. My advice - AVOID ALDER SECURITY ALTOGETHER!!!

THIS IS A TERRIBLE SECURITY COMPANY. If I can give them a 0, I would. My camera had just gotten fixed on 12/9/23. They had stopped working on 5/16/23 which is 7 months. I was charged for June and July payments. I was told that I was going to get a refund, but they saying it wasn’t showing up in the system. What I noticed about them, when you call them, they don’t put everything they or you say in the system. I can’t tell you how many times I have talked to them. Everytime I call, you have to talk to 2-4 people before you end the call. Everybody is always telling me something different. They just there for the money because they don’t know anything. Alder needs to do better with their business. Also, I’m getting emails about my battery is low for my living room and back door motion everyday. One of the representative was rude and told me she was going to call me back last month on a Friday to schedule for a tech to come out. I heard anything yet. I has been over a month ago, because it was the first part of November. I had to call one of the personal tech phone myself. The TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT IS AWFULLY! I had one tech told me to go outside and get on a ladder and remove the SIM card out the front card and put it back in after I told her I don’t own a ladder and it dark outside. Then, I told her what if I was elderly and couldn’t get on a ladder, what I supposed to do? She said well that’s I need to do. I told her I don’t get paid for that, they do and that’s not my job. I’m paying them. Also, she wasn’t the only tech that didn’t have any respect. So, after they didn’t come fix my cameras after they took my June and July payment, I stop the payments from coming out of my checking account. They’re not getting anymore money until they give me my refund that they lied about. It so more much I want to say about problems I’m having with representatives and get my refund back, I just can’t type it all. I’m just going to return everything back to them and not RECOMMEND them to anyone. I’m going to let everybody know, they’re not the one. They just a scam! I need to know who owns the company? One of the representatives who work there, don’t even know unless she’s playing dumb. AGAIN, I DON’T RECOMMEND!!

We PAID for installation ilon Jan 3, 2023. Was told in 7 days everything the camera's, door bell camera, panel, window and door sensors, and detectors would be installed Well a guy shows up installs the panel,, window and door sensors. He tells us that a guy will follow him in 2 days with the camera's. A week later the camera guy shows up with everything but my door bell camera. He also has no way for me to view my camera's from my cell when not home. He tells me they didn't send him a doorbell camera and I needed to call Alder and schedule someone to come out. At this point we are about a month in. So I call Alder and was given a install date of March. No one showed. Then another date of May was given no one showed. A date in July was given guess what no one showed. So at this point 7 Months in still paying for the full system and I'm getting the run around from these guys. So one day a random Alder guy knocks on my door and ask if I want a system upgrade. I snapped. Dude I don't have my full current system, I explain all to him and he gets on thr phone with them. They tell him to upgrade our panel for free and install my doorbell camera. I'm like finally, finally! Well NOPE!!He has a wired camers...the one I ordered and paying for is wireless. He can't get back to me for 6 weeks my July appointment which was the next week was canceled when he arrived so I had to get back in rotation. While waiting the entire system ztopped working, panel went out completely window door sensors not working NOTHING@! Call thrm in August and was given a September appointment. No one showed. I called and explained everything all the while being threatened thst o cant stop payong or ill be sued and id hsve to wait until October before the could fix it. October comes no one showed. So given November a guy comes 1 day early installs doorbell only says someone will come tomorrow to fix panel and NO ONE SHOWED. I call them explain, I was told I would receive call back with answer in 24 hours that was 4 weeks ago...I have heard nothing I'm sick of calling. I'm sick of it all. So my next call is to the BBB and my lawyer. This system, it's company and reps are TRAGIC AT BEST!!

Well, to be 100% objective, the service provided while in use was Good. they responded promptly when things arose, and contacted us when power was out. However, upon my father passing away 4 months ago i still haven't been able to do anything about cancelling as the service is no longer needed and was told the remaining buyout balance would be required to be paid by the estate. I mean, i know its a contract but these are not previously provided actions or objects. so why wouldn't the contract be nullified upon death as its for future services that don't need to be completed. Seriously I thought they were just getting hate from a few outliers unhappy with the service until this happened

Service was good....customer service is the worst I've ever experienced for a service that I paid for. I literally had to hang up on the rep because she wouldn't take NO that I did not want to renew my service. Wished I had read the reviews before signing up for your service!!! Hope I dont' have to retain a layer to end this. I did my part and paid for the 5 years I signed up for. Never missed or late on a payment, now do your part and honor my wishes to end this!

In The 2 months we started with Alder I have spent many hours on tech support calls. We had Brinks and no problem, but Alder could do more and charge less , the sales guy said . It was a 60 month contract not 36 months . It is cheaper but I have spent so much time it was not worth the savings . The techs have all been very patient and helpful trying to solve issues with false alarms and inaccurate information on panel and Changing sensors . I am very frustrated with spending so much time and I am Not sure the system will work with all the sensors working while in away mode . I’m very sorry now that I switched!

The sales rep are very friendly I was aware of the 60months contract, unfortunately I was under a contract with Brinks and Alder could not pay off the whole contract decided to cancel with the 3 days with Alder no issue just the long hold times to talk to someone other then that they are true and honest with their fees so its mind blowing how so many people just don't read the contracts. You get one in person and by email.

Was offered a home security system by a rep of Alder about a year ago. While the equipment, instalation sevice, and operation has been fine, the reprecentive was dishonest. No paper copy of contact was provided. We were asked to sign a tablet after represintive told uswhat was there, many key points were untrue. Turns out this is a 60 month contract not 24 as he said ( wife as witness) Charges applyed are way higher than web sight quote. Cancellation clauses were never covered,etc. Because Alder did NOT provide two copies of written contract as stated which is a breach of contract, and because rep. Lied to us, I will be turning this over to my lawyer soon. Regards David Creson

I was originally an AP customer; however Alder bought them out and so this review reflects the experience I have had with Alder. One. Customer service is sales driven only and not there to HELP a customer. My fire alarm/freeze alarm went bad, a week before I was heading out of town for the holidays. I tried calling and no calls were returned, I also tried contacting on their website. I never heard back nor wa there any follow up. So lifetime warranty of equipment and 24/7 service help was a LIE. once my contract was up my phone has been non stop calls about new deals and rates allIhave to do is sign into another contract! I even explained my past experience and this was met with no apologies or even a token credit! Another thing that surprised me is that when Alder took over I was not not notified; only caught the change on my bill! upon calling it was explained and I asked for new placars and stickers for my house, rep said they would send out right away! I am currently trying to cancel my service and I still have not been able to successfully do that simple task! I have called and left emails; now I start to leave stunning reviews online! Needless to say I still have AP placards and stickers on my house. morale of story do NOT do business with this company

My house was broken into this weekend. I missed the called from the rep but immediately called back because I was out of town. I took a long time to get a rep on the phone about 5 minutes or so. After reaching someone she told me they had to call everyone on my contact list and send an email before dispatching the police. Not sure why police was not notified after I didn’t answer. I thank God I wasn’t home but if I was it could have been bad with the time delay of Alder. The robbers got away with a 60 inch tv and a laptop. And they completely destroyed the alarm panel. I called to get a replacement was told it will be a two day shipping, called back to verify after two days now they say it’s a four day shipping after it gets approved of which it hasn’t been approved. I asked to speak to the person who approves and was told that an email will be sent to them. So I didn’t get to speak with higher authority. I feel very uncomfortable being in my home with no security at all. Looking to go elsewhere if not resolved.
