The Bad

  • No free shipping
  • Product and service issues
IKEA does not have the option of free shipping. Depending on where the customer lives and what they ordered will determine the total shipping cost, but "free" is not an option. IKEA has had some complaints concerning delivery and collection issues in the past, such as not receiving products by their delivery date or not receiving products entirely. Other issues individuals have shown concern for include problems with the product or service they purchased. These vary depending on the item and are consistent with other major home furniture companies. Similar to delivery issues, problems are handled by their quality customer service department.

Not just build it yourself furniture. Scandinavian designed furniture from Ikea offers a contemporary and casual atmosphere at reasonable prices. No pressure sales and warehouse shopping is great for self-service buyers. Although it can't be avoided, pressed board or particle board components are heavy and are not durable, as opposed to solid wood. I opt for the real wood in any of their products.

Ikea is a great home and furniture store where you can find anything and everything related to furniture. They have a wide variety of styles and colors. The store is fairly large but it is separated by sections. The only thing is sometimes the instructions can be a bit confusing when building the furniture. All furniture must be built on your own so you do have to be pretty hands on with setting it up.

I think IKEA is so awesome mainly because they have a kids play area where you can leave your kids!! Suddenly it becomes a positive experience for both mom and kids! My kids hate coming with me to the store now and I don’t love taking them either, but IKEA makes it fun for everyone. I do with the layout of IKEA was A bit less maze like and more organized by category of item than style or rooms

Most of the organizing items in my home come from Ikea. Their products are reasonably priced. I have bookcases, desks and toy organizers now for 5 years and they are still going strong. When I have time I browse the store. When I am short on time I bypass the displays and go straight for the marketplace. I do not enjoy spending more time standing in the checkout lines then I do at other stores. It is always the slowest process of my visit.

They offer unique, diverse, and relevant products at really great prices. The distinctive Ikea style of manufacturing has come to be a staple in my home and the homes of many of my friends and family because their products fit our needs as customers: to feel thrifty, practical, as well as stylish. The store is notorious for its maze-like lay-out, but the atmosphere they try to create is tied to the experience they want you to have with their products. I would argue that a trip to Ikea is generally well worth your time.

Ikea is cheap for a reason. The quality of goods you receive from Ikea are what I deem "college dorm level" - basically you really wouldn't want to have this stuff once you're a working adult. It's good for kids rooms things, too, though. But honestly, everything is made with MDF and cheap parts and you have to assemble everything yourself. Over the years, I've bought couches, TV stands, bed frames and a myriad of other goods. The bed frames will last about 5 years. The couch was horribly uncomfortable after about 6 months and I wouldn't recommend buying a couch from them. The bookshelves and TV stands are OK, but they damage easily and aren't very sturdy. Kitchen goods are slightly better. They have some really decent tools (garlic press, I'm looking at you) and they have decent storage solutions for small spaces.

IKEA as a whole is more than just shopping for furniture, it’s an experience for the whole family. With the beautiful/interactive furniture displays and the delicious food court, I am able to take my children shopping with me for hours without them getting bored. In addition to this, the workers at IKEA are extremely helpful in finding me exactly what I need. The wide variety of furniture options (color, size, style) makes it easy for everyone to find something that suits their style. My one complaint is that, because of the quality of the store, it can often get crowded with people. But, that just goes to show how well-loved IKEA is!! Online shopping with IKEA can solve that problem. It’s easy to find the same products online, and they can ship them right to your door!

IKEA is a great place to find affordable and cute home decor and furniture. It is so easy to put rooms together with my findings from IKEA. Some of the pieces I have purchased have lacked in quality, but I also knew that when I purchased.

Ikea is great if you know what you need exactly. It is hard to try to make it through the entire store and find what you need. Then to decide what you want only to have it not be there. The online experience is somewhat better.

When my kids were little, we purchased lots of items for their bedrooms from IKEA. The quality was decent and the prices were good. Most of those items are still in our home and have held up fairly well. Whenever I am shopping for furniture, I always check to see what IKEA has to offer. I love having an IKEA within 10 minutes of my home.

You pretty much get what you pay for with IKEA. Their furniture can be pretty cheap, but so are their prices. They have tons of variety and most of its pretty cute! The store can be a bit overwhelming, but they also deliver. Perfect for college students.

Ikea is great. Most of the things in our home are from Ikea. They have very modern furniture that is sold at a very reasonable price. You do have to be willing to put all the product together once you get home. So as long as you have someone who is handy you're in good shape.

Ikea is a great place to find home stuff for a good price. Because you have to put together your own furniture is probably not ideal for someone who physically can’t or isn’t good at putting things together. But we love all of the contemporary and affordable options there!

Awesome prices! The quality is a little on the cheaper end, but over all its a great place to get good prices. Especially the kid section. We've bought numerous beds and furniture from there and have always had good experiences with it.

Even though it takes a brain surgeon and 10 hours to put together an Ikea table.... and then another 5 hours because you left a part out that you missed in step 2, I have been very satisfied with Ikea and the quality you get for the money. Very affordable and is a one-stop shop for most of your home decor and furniture needs!

Every impressed with the customer service that IKEA provides. I bought a large off white area rug. When I asked if I could return it if it didn't look good in my room, I was told I had one year to return it. Now that's a good return policy!!

IKEA can be overwhelming when going into the store, but if you have a purpose and know what you're getting, you can get in and out of the store fairly quickly. Like other reviews have said, much frustration has been caused when I, as the customer, did my own assembly with no explanation, just pictures. It ALWAYS takes longer than you plan.

I think Ikea has good quality merchandise for the price they charge. I have bought several things from them. They really have it all when it comes to merchandise. I get frames and plants and I really like their kitchenware. Their store is a huge maze though, and there is hardly anyone around to help out. I always feel like I am not being helped.

I bought a bunch of desks and chairs for the new office that I'm working in. They were a really good price and so far they have done a really good job at lasting. The hardest part about buying from Ikea is just the setup once you get them. Other than that everything has been perfect.

Assembly instructions are sometimes the worst and can sometimes take multiple hours to assemble furniture. But I get that is why their furniture is so cheap. We have a lot of Ikea furniture and although the price is cheap, I have never felt like the quality of the pieces are cheap. Ikea is a great place to buy furniture on a budget.

I had first visit on this store this year and i was trying to find out good furniture for my newly build home and i like the layout of the store very pleasing environment to shop , each section was clearly marked and labelled for removing confusion while decision making which is great initiative for the customer experience . The quality i find here is just of amazing standard. I notice that the staff have very friendly behavior and they are quite knowledgeable and helped in purchasing best deal products which i find very helpful.

I enjoy building my own furniture and items. The designs usually are very simple and trendy. The assemble manuals are usually easy to follow. The price from the products they sell are usually good price and good buy especially for college students and young professionals. However, the quality sometime may not be great and won’t last after a few moves from place to place.

I have purchased several things from IKEA. I enjoy the experience of walking through IKEA and seeing what they have to offer. I do not appreciate how long it takes to walk through their store though! It is a day trip for me to go because I have over an hour and a half travel to get there. But, I do it because the quality of their furniture is generally good for the price. Especially with kids and not wanting to commit to the furniture I use with kids for my whole life, it is a good price.

The showroom is amazing. It's a really nice experience to walk through and find something you like. What I don't like is the poor quality or durability of the items purchased. or the fact that sometimes the instructions seem to have been put through a translator but never really read for proper English phrasing. The quality of the furniture seems to drop all the time.

IKEA offers affordable and stylish furniture and home decor options that I love. Their in-store experience is fantastic. However, the downside is their shipping and assembly process. Shipping is costly, and assembly, while a cost-saver, can be challenging. If you're patient and handy, it's worth it for the price and design, but it's something to keep in mind before making a purchase.

You can't beat the price with Ikea and as long as you are willing to do the installation work it can provide great value. I recently purchased their closet kits and built an entire walk in closet system. I was quoted $4000 from a local closet company but was able to purchase a comparable system from Ikea for $1700. Putting everything together took me a couple days but it was well worth the savings.

I love IKEA! I love shopping there and seeing the rooms set up with furniture and decor! It’s like cruising thru a very large and beautiful home, seeing every different style in bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms and baths. We furnished an apartment for our two daughters at college. Everything was purchased at IKEA at a very affordable price. The only nightmare was assembling it! That was 10 years ago and the furniture is still holding up nicely!

I love their style and the value. I know their quality is not the best and sometimes assembly is not the most intuitive but I have found out that when you are in a limited budget, the cost Ikea offers is good enough to get by. If you treat the furniture kindly, it will last quite a bit. Their furniture is optimal for a limited budget and space, modern look, functional and fun.

I love IKEA and their affordable selection of housewares. They have fantastic ideas for small spaces and great quality yet inexpensive options. A great go to when stocking a new home and sending my kids off to college. The only thing is make sure you have on your good walking shoes because there is no quick way in and out. You’re in there for the long haul and there is no cell service. Great products!!

When we renovated our kitchen and a bathroom we used Ikea extensively. We bought and mounted 24 kitchen cabinets which we put together ourselves. The quality of the cabinets and drawers with "soft-close" functionality was very good. We sat with an Ikea representative who helped design the kitchen using their software. Everything came out great and it saved us a lot of money. We will be using Ikea in the future - highly recomended.

IKEA has a huge selection of all sorts of home goods and furniture, and their presentation in store is unlike anything you can find anywhere else. It's a great place to go whether you're hunting for a deal or just looking for decorating inspiration. The one drawback is that you have to assemble the furniture on your own, and that can be kind of confusing.

We live down the street from Ikea and it is our furniture store of choice when we need drawers, shelves, anything to help us organize our stuff. My kids rooms are filled with Ikea furniture. I love that the stuff is sturdy, it's affordable, and it looks modern, clean, and it's timeless. I've got stuff that is almost 15 years old that we still use in our toy room today. If you're looking to spice up a room or a space on a budget, Ikea is the best.

Ikea is a fun store to walk through and get ideas for storage and decorating, especially in small spaces. The products I have bought there, small storage organizers and bookshelves, have served their purpose well and were a good price. I've also picked up a great stockpot and other kitchen items at a great price and have been pleased with the quality.

Ikea is a great place to find anything you need for your home. They normally have very affordable items. Some things I'd avoid as they are not top notch quality. We've had two book shelves that have not lasted very long at all so I refuse to buy more from Ikea. But, they have modern/trendy items for good prices on most things. I have lots of pictures frames in my home from Ikea and end tables. I've also purchased toys from their kids sections and bedding as well. Quality can be a little lower, so don't expect too much! It's sort of a headache to return anything there.

Love Ikea. The kid place is awesome and being able to see things put together in rooms or how to use them is great. I love the prices and don't mind having to put the items together once bought in order to keep prices low and get them home easier. Returning items is usually always a longer wait and I wish they would get more employees to help out there, but I would guess that's just an issue for my store and not the company as a whole.

I have used IKEA for a variety of different products. My overall opinion is that these are products priced to sell and to fulfill an immediate need. Larger items (such as bookshelves and a desk) did not hold us as well over time. They were made of synthetic materials and they peeled within two years. Small items such as (Lanterns, vases, dishes, and other household decorations) were priced well and have held up well. My recommendation would be purchasing small decor items here. Larger items will work for a little bit, but they will not hold up for long-time use.
