Most doctors are In Network. They sometimes provide incorrect copay information to providers. They discontinued my plan and moved me into a plan that is not as good.

Waited and waited for pre approval for my ACL surgery and finally decided to reschedule my surgery and apply for disability in the hopes that maybe if I cancle my insurance and make less money I can apply for government paud healthcare so maybe I can get my knee fixed and stop living in pain. I paid $500/month for insurance thats seems to be almost useless. I pay more for thier services than I do for rent and they not only have horible customer service but they are only in business to take your money. Go with a healthcare savings plan and dont get ripped off.

The blue cross and blue shield in sc is a piece of work!! my father is diabetic and could die with out his insurance. here is what happen he was paying his bill and they charged him a little over 300 dollars and he called to find out way and there response was a smokers charge WHEN he DOES NOT smoke. he can't afford over 300 dollars for insurance every month!!!

My company forced me to use Blue Cross Blue Shield. It was not a good experience. They limit your physician choices. Many of my doctors were not on their panel. Their customer service was not as good as my prior health insurance provider. They are OK. Certainly better than not having health insurance.

Refuse to cover necessary medical tests for my pregnancy unless I deliver at the hospital THEY want me to deliver at. I'm currently paying over 1000 dollars in bills and it keeps piling up because they refuse to pay on anything. They won't even cover the blood work I had to get at my first appointment. Also if my baby is a boy they refuse to help cover the cost of a circumcision. Absolutely ridiculous. They want me to deliver at a hospital over an HOUR away from where I live. Will be switching insurances.

BlueCross BlueShield is my current insurance. I haven't had any issues with them. Even living in a tri-state area it is not a problem using services in 3 states. Customer service is OK. I wish they were cheaper, and my deductible was lower, but overall, they're pretty good company.

I am not a big fan of any insurance companies. BlieCross BlueShield is just “okay.” I feel that every time I have had to use my card, it’s just a long, drawn out process. The process of deductibles is very inconvenient and customer service seems like days when I have to call for a question to be answered.

Been with them for over 16 years, and all I can say is, they're a necessary evil. I'm glad I have insurance, because I'm sure I've saved some money over the years. But man, some of the idiocy you get when they DON'T cover something, can be very annoying.

BlueCross offers decent coverage, but it is expensive! We pay over $1400 a month and still have a $5k deductible. Their customer service is very kind when you can finally talk to someone. It will take days for them to respond via the email option on their website. Overall, for an insurance company, a solid 3.5 or so.

Rhode Island region healthcare coverage is great! But patient portal is not intuitive. It's unclear what you actually owe as a co-pay, but the insurance coverage is so good that it's usually $0-10.

We have been using Blue Cross Blue Shield for about 3 years now and we really haven't liked the high deductible plan we have had or the coverage. We have a large family with a lot of expenses so it's hard to pay so much for our deductible. This insurance company hasn't covered things as well as some of our past providers. Our dealing with customer service has been fine though. It's also hard to have IHC Hospitals out of their network as we have needed to take our children to the hospital near us and not been able to.
