The company launched nationally in March of 2012 and is currently available in over 4,500 cities and over 300 airports throughout the United States. Turo is supported by top-tier investors, including August Capital, Google Ventures, Shasta Ventures, Canaan Partners, and Trinity Ventures.

The Good

  • Variety of Vehicles Available
  • Simple Sharing Process
  • Rental Prices and Fees
  • Insurance Coverage

Variety of Vehicles Available

To cater to individual preferences, the company offers over 800 different car models to choose from. Renters can choose from cars, SUVs, minivans, trucks, convertibles, hybrids, and vans. One can also filter by rental period for long-term rentals, the vehicle make, features like all-wheel drives, and more.

Simple Sharing Process

Turo has an easy, user-friendly, and customizable rental sign-up. In order to sign up for car sharing, create a Turo account by simply signing in to your Facebook or email account.

The first time you sign up for a car, all you have to do is enter some general information, choose a car, rental date, and time. You can either decline additional insurance or purchase the Basic or Premium option, each with varying physical damage and liability protection.

In order to get the car and the keys, all the renter needs to do is meet the Turo host and show them their driver's license. Some owners will even deliver the car right to the renter. Returning the car is simple, as the renter just needs to return the car with a tank full of gas to where it was initially picked up.

Rental Prices and Fees

Turo rents vehicles priced approximately 35 percent lower than other car rental options. The price ranges depending on what car one gets. There is no membership fee and cars generally go for a flat rate of $40 per day.

In addition to rental fees, buyers may be charged fees for additional miles, parking tickets, and cleaning fees. To get the car's trip price, one must multiply the relevant trip rate advertised on the vehicle by the duration. There are also the following fees:

  • Trip Fee — 10% of trip price
  • Protection Fee — varies by if one chooses a premium (40% of car's rate), basic (15% of car's rate), or the decline option
  • Young Driver Fee — 20% fee of the trip price for people under age 25
  • Delivery Fee — varies based on owner's settings
  • Airport Fee — 10% fee of trip price if the rented vehicle is involved in the Turo Airport Lot program

It should also be noted that payment information, including debit card and credit card payments, is made through the Turo app or website, not the rental host.

Insurance Coverage

With Turo, there are private and commercial hosts. When it comes to Turo's insurance, owners can either use Turo's policies or decline coverage to be eligible for a commercial, third-party insurance policy.

When owners decline Turo's insurance coverage, they are considered a Commercial Host. As such, they must have their commercial rental insurance policy verified by Turo prior to renting any of their vehicles.

Turo's originally offered three different tiers of protection for owners to choose from. The Premium, Standard, and Basic plans (available before July 1, 2020). All three plans came with $1 million in liability coverage and physical damage protection that covers the value of the car, up to $125,000. From there, the plans differ in host deductible, cost, and other amenities.

As of July 1, 2020 Turo offers five vehicle protection plans: the 60 Plan, 70 Plan, 75 Plan, 80 Plan, and the 85 Plan.

All five plans provide up to $750,000 in third-party liability insurance (offered by Liberty Mutual) and varying levels of contractual reimbursement (reflected in the plan names) from Turo for physical damage and theft. However, bear in mind that the level of available reimbursement will vary depending on the chosen plan.

We recommend consumers thoroughly read Turo's detailed terms and conditions for more information regarding Turo's car insurance.

Guest Protection

Just as you would when you rent a car with other rental car companies, before you complete your booking, you have to choose which protection plan you want for your trip.

If you choose a commercial host, then the host will provide you with options. None of the guest plans cover mechanical or interior damage.

If you already have personal insurance, Turo's coverage will supplement your existing coverage. Policies differ in the amount of liability insurance, deductible payment required, and damage protection. We recommend you refer to the company's website for detailed information on each plan.

The Bad

  • Car Retrieval
  • Variable Restrictions
  • Availability Limitations
  • Caring for the Car

Car Retrieval

Since Turo does not operate with clients out of a specific agency, it utilizes car owners that do not use their cars on an everyday basis. Renters must meet the car owner personally in order to pick up the car. Renters may have to go out of their way to retrieve the car if there is not a Turo already at the airport.

Additionally, each renter must show the car owner his or her driver's license, which does have personal information that people may not feel comfortable sharing with a random person.

Variable Restrictions

Since Turo does not own the cars, rules and regulations are inconsistent. Some owners allow renters to drive 200 miles a day, while others allow only 100. Each owner has his or her own set of restrictions, so Turo does not have an overall list of rules for the available cars.

Availability Limitations

Turo does not offer cars in New York. People under 21 years of age cannot rent a car, and people under age 25 have to pay additional fees.

In fact, people under 25 may need to demonstrate at least two years of current U.S. licensed driving history, and potentially can only rent out certain cars because they are considered "high-risk."

Caring for the Car

One thing that is different about the Turo experience is that guests are expected to care for the car as if it were their own. So, if the exterior of the car is significantly dirtier or if it has junk food crumbles inside from a road trip, you have to take it through a car wash and vacuum it out before returning it. If not, you may be charged a cleaning fee between $30 and $250. This is a big difference between standard car rental companies and renting a car with Turo.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Travelers who want a cheap or out-of-the-ordinary rental vehicle will be satisfied with Turo's offerings. Users can choose the car model, location, and Turo host.

Finding a unique rental vehicle, on the low or high-end is made easier through Turo's growing community, where owners can use this portal to the sharing economy to make some extra money.

However, keep in mind that service is not available in New York or to potential customers under age 21, and people under age 25 must pay extra fees while renting.

I did Turo once. I signed up for a car and got a discount because I did it far in advance of my trip. Somehow, either Turo's fault, my error or the car owner's error the pick up time was put down as 3AM instead of 3PM. The car owner caught the problem and said to go in and change the time - NO PROBLEM! So I changed the time - 12 HOURS LESS TIME - and Turo said that I changed the contract so they charged me $81 for 12 hours of less time. After some hassle, I finally got the right supervisor and he fixed the problem. Everything with the car went great - I would have given a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the $81 charge that had to be corrected.

I wish they extend the Mileage the customers can take without having to pay extra. Also in the insurance part, if they could clarify things further. I know with other Rental Companies, i don’t have to add extra protection since i’m already covered from my own car insurance. Also using certain types of credit cards has advantage of the other. I wish they just show all of these, for the customer and the host just so everything is clear! If the Turo does this, i wouldn’t hesitate to give it a 5star, and this App has the potential to be the Airbnb on cars 😉. Think about it, to the developers, directors and CEO of the company. All was good until I went to use the windshield wipers on david Hyundai eleantra. They were very worn and didn't wipe the windshield and also the passenger side wasnt even big enough or meant for that car. So I could hardly see in the rain. Also his wife was about 10 to 15 mins late and the car sat there running cause it to go down one bar on the gas gauge. 2 days after the trip eneded David try to request payment of $30 from me for the gas gauge claiming it was under by more than 1/4. He uploaded a picture 22 minutes after the car was picked up. And was picked up late, causing a delay of me getting onto my flight on time. All was well and I forgave her being late and the windshield wiper issues. But trying to charge me $30 2 days later for 1 bar of gas missing because they were late picking up the car is insane. I won't use them again!

This is the first time I used Turo but it won't be the last because it's the only way to rent a Tesla Model 3, which I have an extreme bias for because it's my car at home. For that reason I am grateful the company exists but I did not give the platform 5 stars for 2 reasons. First, it does not operate in Australia or New Zealand, the other places I have needed rental cars in the last couple of years. I can't really hold it responsible for that but I was really (very...) dissapointed none the less. But more so because I felt the check in/check out process was completely out of touch and needlessly sloppy. My main complaint is that the app never even texted me a reminder (much less required me) to search the car for damages, or to do anything at the time of acceptance. We arrived at night with the car parked on a public street and the owner unlocked the car remotely so there existed a chance that neither party would have known if the car had been hit right before I picked it up. The first time it occurred to me that I had neglected to check for damages was when I was walking back to the parked car the next day and I saw it had been freshly side swiped on the rear corner. It wasn't a big damage but I knew it would be very expensive to fix because I have the same color and am aware it's a 3-step paint job which costs a lot more money to fix than the other colors. I had a mini 'hear-attack' before quickly remembering Tesla cameras record everything. So I spent 30 minutes checking the car's video clips to make sure the damage didn't happen since I got it before I could relax. Later when I texted the owner about it he volunteered that the damage had occurred the day prior to my rental. Eventually when all cars are made to record their surroundings, then the renter won't be so vulnerable but had I rented anything else on the market today, I could see this as having completely ruined my vacation. That being said, I will continue using Turo in whatever locations they operate but will know to set an alarm to remind myself to check for damages before driving away.

With a last-minute need for a rental car AND not able to use a car agency at LAX ( due to previous plans), I had no idea what to do. When I “Googled”: rental car delivery Los Angeles ( using several different word combinations, Turo kept coming up. Suspicious as many are of Internet “promises”, I cross-checked Turo with Trip Advisor and BBB. Also referenced reviews. Then, with fingers crossed, proceeded to rent Art’s Ford Fusion..... So thankful because all steps of process “fell into place” and our vacation was salvaged and actually enjoyable. Whew! Thank you! Will recommend to friends, not foes.

Overall, it was much less than going with a traditional car rental company. We had a good host so we were provided with a step by step as far as where to go and what to do once we arrived at the airport and once it was time to drop off the car. I will say that it's important to factor in the additional tax that some host charge because the tax will cause your overall cost to be a little higher than what you are seeing. Also, know that you will be asked to share your personal ID with the host, this was strange for us particularly since we weren't given any personal or business info for them, so that's something to keep in mind and be sure you're comfortable with. Lastly, pay attention to the mileage on the car that your getting, because that will affect the way the car drives long-distance or in areas where there are lots of hills.

The vehicle and pickup were perfect. The customer service for IT assistance was a huge hassle. I ordered in the weekend and because TURO is based in California my credit union rejected the transaction. I had to wait until Monday to fix this and wait in hold for hours to get ahold of someone who actually knew how to add my promo codes back becayse they had been"used" although the transaction never processed. Two simple things can fix this because apparently this is a common issue cards being rejected. Making a note to inform customers to inform their bank that a transaction coming from California or out of state will be processed from Turo and that it is approved. Or changing the system so that when a transaction does not process that the promo codes stay applicable. Or both. Or even better allowing the transaction to wait and be attempted again once our bank approves it. It made me start a whole new transaction and was a huge hassle most would just give up and use a rental car company.

Turo had charged my card before my trip basically when I booked it when it clearly stated that my card would NOT be charged until my trip ( or maybe it was after). It was not stated "at the time of booking". Also it would have been nice that when I picked up the car that I would have been forewarned it was going to cost 15.00 to get out of the parking lot. The owner was very communicative except about the 15.00 parking charge. I was told to wash and vacuum the car which probably should be the job of the owner. I actually had to vacuum up other people's messes. I felt like I had to keep checking to make sure I still had it rented because i saw alot of reviews that said the owner cancelled the rental leaving the renter high and dry. There should be some financial guarantee that this does not happen as it would be alot more expensive to rent a car for the renter of the car. When the person who owns the car for what ever reason they cancelled the scheduled rental. Maybe it was a better paying rental who knows but there should be some financial compensation to the person renting the car if this happens so the person who owns the car doesn't cancel unless some unforeseen event like the car was in an repairable accident or something then they would have to supply proof Your question below have I ever been a paying customer of turo. This a weird question because I would not be filling out this survey if I had not been a paying customer of turo. I just paid turo . Does this count as a paying customer? I did not get the car for free. This was my first time renting. So maybe your question should be not counting this rental have I previously rented from turo. That answer would be this was my first rental. So i am marking no for that reason.

Car was as expected, employees were very friendly, pick up spot was farther than expected. I had a good experience and have no gripes with it other than the pickup spot for the car being farther than I had hoped. I live in Redondo beach and I was under the impression that I would be able to pick up my car in this area but the app wasn’t specific with my location and so I ended up driving all the way to Venice to pick up my car was was a hassle. Also, I feel like for what I ended up paying overall I probably could have rented from a typical rental company and perhaps gotten a newer car than what I drove with Turo. I had an overall satisfactory experience I just don’t know that I saved money compared to going with a rental car company.

Overall it was a very good experience. First time I've used Turo so didn't really know what to do. Realized I had to download the app to check in and out and had to communicate with owner a few times which was fine. The instructions for the process were a bit confusing and not very detailed, but I was able to wade through them and figure things out. The owner has quite a few cars in his stable at an off airport site which is in an industrial area and pretty dark at night. Not sure I would have been very comfortable with pickup and dropoff if I was a single woman doing it. One downside is having to clean the car before you bring it back. I went to seven different car washes and they were all closed or wanted $50+ to clean. That's always included in a rental car which makes it much more convenient when you're in a hurry to drop off the car. Overall, very good experience and I'd use them again.

I had a good experience with Turo, considering it's my first time renting a car through them. My overall thinking is that I ended up spending about as much for the Tesla model 3 I rented as the bigger rental companies wanted to charge me for one of their clunkers. Things you could work on to make it better: your initial search parameters needs some work in my opinion. For example, I was searching for a car in New Orleans, and different cars came up if I put in the NO airport and NO by itself, and the $25 credit you advertise. I submitted several email addresses and never received it; seems like a sham, and like people want more unsolicited emails! But I think overall you've got a good deal going and look forward to your ipo!

First time using Turo. Why not 5 stars? Even though they give you a price "estimate" before you commit, there are a BUNCH of add on's (Insurance, car cleaning) that basically double the daily cost. It's like Airbnb and other services like this. Seems like a good deal - in the end, it might have been cheaper or the same cost and less of an imposition (I felt a need to be extra careful because you do meet/talk with the owner) to rent from a regular car rental service. It's a community thing. If you're looking for a rental to beat on, go elsewhere. If you can take care of someone else's property like you would a friend who cares about their car, then go for it. The cars are more interesting than regular rentals but there is a price to pay in that you should be treating these vehicles with more than average care.

I have been a member of Turo since before it was Turo. This was the first time I had rented long distance. The woman I rented from met us curbside at the airport both coming and going. I was without question the smoothest transition I have ever had in all my travels. My experience with Sabine (the owner of the car) made my whole trip better. If you are going to Orlando, see if one of her cars is available, she is phenomenal to work with. The Turo app... well, lets just say that if not for the amazing experience I had with Sabine, this would be a much different review. There were several glitches in the app that i have already reported, the worst was after we returned the car, I tried to view some of the pictures that she had uploaded to the site. It took 15 min just to get two pics to come up so I could view them (at the time I had full signal bars and an LTE signal, it's not like I was in a hole somewhere. I signed onto a wifi signal and it wasn't any better. The IOS version of the app needs some serious attention. Overall, after the experience I had, I have already recommended to several of my friends that are traveling to Orlando to use Turo if at all possible.

Overall, I did like it. There was an issue with the cab company/driver from LAX and their use of the Curb app. Essentially Curb short-changed the driver because of an apparent $19/minimum charge. The driver was just short of irate about the situation, but I had no further information than that of what’s a Curb had provided. Once I arrived, the customer service was maybe a 3. I’m sure it’s not the greatest job and I assume Turo doesn’t pay the lot attendants enough to go above and beyond. People trying to drop off were stuck at the bottom of the gates ramp and there was no acknowledgement that the lot attendants even noticed you. I experienced the same thing upon return. The drop off, aside from the aforementioned acknowledgement was pretty effortless although I almost missed my Uber. The Uber went to the Custom Hotel valet and not the Turo area. Maybe that’s what they are supposed to do, but it wasn’t communicated to me. Overall, I like the service and it was pretty cool. I will definitely use again, although I’m not sure I’d use the valet lot again. I was hoping it was more like the Hertz Gold lane, but overall a good weekend.

It's definitely very different from the mainstream car rental companies I'm used to dealing with, that's for sure! Customer service representatives I dealt with, Ray & Larissa, were, VERY professional, patient and communicative. I rented an older model Lexus ES 330 (I owned exact same car!!) and it definitely had obvious wear and tear scratches and dents. So, out of habit, I took photos before and after to protect myself. I did buy basic insurance through Turo, for my own peace of mind. I never saw an actual person nor did I sign any semblance of a contract. You pick up and leave the vehicle in a designated area, car unlocked with key under driver's sidemat. Works for me!! I liked the process and would definitely use them again! Mahalo-Andrea Roberson

Turo is amazing. I am a giant fan of this service. Owning 2 cars and a boat its hard to own a dream sports car. But with turo i'm able to rent cars ive never driven and olny dreamed about owning. It really is a cool business. Its like the airbnb of sports cars. I will say its not perfect. Much like zip car if an owner is late returning his rental, although he pays a fine, it still eats into your current slot. Many times you are not aware of this until he is late, so you are already at the locations waiting. Also it seems like a lot people in Manhattan dont own there car but rather have gone into it with someone else as buisness rental venture, so the calender system is not perfect. Many people advertise "delivery" but then decide they wont do it for one day rentals. Many people are not there to show you the car they have a delivery guy... i dont know, there could be imporvements but it is a great service all together. I also think the insurance is a little high. I do love the company and hope they continue to make improvements and I cant wait until my next sports car rental . -JIM

I love renting with Turo. All the fees are laid out for you, the photos are accurate, and I especially like the convenience for pick up and drop off. For me to rent from a standard company, I have to pay more to rent close, or spend an hour shuttling to the airport. With Turo, I can usually find a close convenient pick up for no additional cost. The only complaint I have is about payment collection. With Turo, you never know when Turo will take the payment for your rental. It states in the policy that payment is taken upon booking, but I have booked up to a month in advance at times, and have had payment taken anywhere from the time of booking up until 2 days after my trip started. Minor, but can be annoying to people depending on how they manage their accounts. I love renting from Turo because the owners really know what to expect from the car, and are open about stating if a car is great for snow, better for the city, and the full functionality of the vehicle. Owners are always helpful and usually easy to get a hold of. I rent just about every weekend instead of owning a car and I love it!

My Turo host from Scottsdale AZ was great. The previous renters turned in the car with a cracked windshield. Scottie called me and told me that he would not have enough time to replace it. I asked if it was drivable and when he said yes I said no problem. He documented the crack with pictures and I was off. Good service, good car and great rate. Thus was my first time using Turo and I would do it again , especially through Scottie and his partner.

I like Turo. All was smoothly and convenient. But the only thing was dissapointed to me, After my first car booking "Turo support" starting ask me to send them ID photo and credt card photo. For understanding, I already did it right after registration before my first booking. So I almost sure that was SCAM. Be careful! They writes from toro.com domain and it seems very fishily and suspicious.

Easy check in and out, and a nice clean vehicle. My only complaint is that when booking the vehicle months in advance it was supposed to be for pick up/drop off at the airport...I messaged the owner days before to let him know the flight changed by 30 min and he informed me that I made reservations before they changed it to an extra $120 for airport drop off? I think I should have been told about this, the Uber ride there and back was $60...I would have chosen a different vehicle. Oh well, something to look out for next time.

When you do have a problem with Turo it is monumental because you can't really talk with anyone. Like so many companies nowadays, they cut costs by trying to make too many things automated. When Turo works like it is supposed to, it is great! If there were an easier way to speak with someone, it would easily get 5 stars. Due to a lowsy chat feature being your only outlet for contact, it doesn't get that just yet.

it was good, but very precarious - the hosts are not fully committed to the time frame: one host cancelled on us an hour before, claiming they actually need the car; the second host said it might not be ready on time, though eventually it was. this almost disrupted our entire plans and it seems like there is no penalty for a host to do that, whereas I would have had to pay more had I brought the car back later than agreed. Also, booking fees are very high.

The vehicles and owner on turo are great love the service and stress free booking. However lately turo has recently went up on their fees making the fees almost the same amount of the car which is unfair to the owners and us as renters. This fee is daily which almost makes you not wanting to rent and this was just a recent thing. If they get that figured out then it will then be a excellent service all over again

As a host with more than 80 rentals I was a big fan of Turo. Lately however I lost my "All Star" status due to necessary cancellations which were caused by major repairs (engine replacement). Not only was my profile downgraded, but I had to pay penalties for cancelling reservations. So I paid over $4000 for repairs, lost $500+ in rental fees, lost All Star rating and paid penalties for cancelling reservations which were explained to all renters as soon in advance as I could under the circumstances. I have been emailing Turo Support for months to get my good rating restored to no avail.

My hosts, Maggie and Alex, were flexible and fair. Beware pushing the "refund" button, as it may take up to 10 business days to get that refund. I spoke to several different agents, but none of them were able to expedite the refund process. I still renting a car through Turo, but I wish that there was a disclaimer informing the consumer about delay in refunding money. After I rented the car, my family and I had a great experience and my hosts made it a good first experience as well.

It was a good experience overall. However, since I am new to driving an electric vehicle, it would be helpful if the owner gives us more information on daily operations, for example, a more detailed video. We let the car being charged at the station without realizing there is a charge for idle time if the car is left at the charging station past the time. It would be helpful if the owner would call instead of texting us to warn us.

Loved the Tesla, loved our vacation, loved the looks we got when kids popped out the back seat. Did not like the reception we were met with at Turo pickup in an obscure location. A better topical map defining area, taxi pickup, etc would have helped with our maiden voyage. Did not get any direction with first time Tesla driving nor did they want to show me. I had to figure out how to put car in drive. The rest is history.

Had an awesome experience renting a cool Jeep Wrangler in Houston, TX with Carlos!!! You can see from the other Turo reviews that it is all about the Owner- Good ones=Awesome Experience. Carlos was very responsive at all times and helpful. So much better than Hertz!!!! We needed a little help with the Jeep Soft Top, and he was there for us! Only reason I gave Turo 4 Stars was that the app was confusing because it required a 24-hour trip, and ours was less. I couldn't find a way to end the trip early.

Communication with the car owner was excellent. He was responsive and obviously familiar with the app and what we needed to do to make changes in pick-up/drop-off locations. I gave the experience a 4 because it took me a bit longer to figure out the app then I thought it would and ended up sending a couple of messages via text before figuring out how to update in Turo. User short-coming.

more filters on car selection - ie airport delivery (no charge or charge less than $25) overall my experience was great - very easy, informative and timely. I returned my car early (confirmed with owner - no problem). Even though I followed the return procedure on the Turo app, it didn't reflect that the car was returned nor a receipt issued right away which I would expect. It was only after the original return time that I received notification. I'd prefer to know all is complete - esp as I was headed to the airport and had no recourse or opportunity to address missing info.

The first time using Turo and I am pretty happy with it. Due to some regulations, I had to pick up the car outside of the airport which is a bit inconvenient. But the owner is very nice and the car is fun to drive. The warning lights went on twice, and the owner responded to my message immediately and solved the problems. They are not critical mechanical issues, just some maintenance problems, but I still hope this could be improved and leave it really hassle-free for the renters. Overall, pleasant jouney and good experience.

It took me a while as a first time user to figure out that I needed to find a car near my hotel for easy pick up and that I should choose by map v. list. I cancelled the first car because it was to far but that was easy to do. Overall, it was easy and convenient! The host responded quickly, had a great car and was flexible about return times so that helped.

We have only used Turo twice. Its a good alternative to all the other rentals out there. We only use it if its cheeper or more convenient. We fly standby and this last trip we decided to change our plans. We contacted the car owner and he was great to work with. We had an issue with extending our vehicle directly with turo. They couldn't do anything else to help us.

Turo the company itself is great, you just have to be aware of some host, beware if you have to pick up a car and the host is not present but leaves you instructions to where to find the key, make sure you take pictures of EVERY LITTLE MARK ON THE VEHICLE. Because the host will try to file a claim for everything, even if was there when you get the vehicle.

Love the idea of this, but the execution occasionally has hiccups. My drop-off time had to change a couple of times during my "trip" due to complications (we were getting our own vehicle repaired and unforseen issues arose during those repairs). The app wouldn't allow me to adjust the time if it was too close to the return time, unless I purchased another day. I think the return time should be a little more flexible, because you're already paying for that day.

Victor was very nice and patient with me as my first time using this app However the car itself needed work engine lights on, dirty inside, some tools on dash did not work, difficult to adjust mirrors, hard time starting feared getting stuck somewhere. My plane was delayed for almost 11 hours and car was parked I didn’t use it all day but was charged anyway. Requested a credit but was refused- this is enough to make you choose other cars also. Overall I would spend a few dollars more for a more efficient newer car - lesson learned Hope this was helpful

I thought the experience went well. I picked up the car at the airport. I was a bit confused about check in. I thought I would have a place to enter mileage, etc. Maybe the pictures were supposed to include those. Then I was supposed to take pictures of the car inside and out. I picked it up in a dark parking garage. The process with the owner went very smoothly though they weren’t there to meet me and never actually asked for ID or anything.

I enjoyed my first experience with Turo. I was nervous about how this worked but it worked smoothly. I got to rent the car I chose. The owner was nice but late for the scheduled pickup. I was able to easily contact him. I would choose Turo again because pickup and drop off was easy and quick. Signing up was easy and the price was excellent.

The rental companies don’t quote the real cost of rental because they add on significant fees - fees that they Always charge and that could be part of the quoted rate. Turo gives you your actual cost right up front. It’s usually a little less expensive than a comparable hertz or Avis car, but what is actually “comparable”? You don’t know what you’ll actually get at the big companies, but at Turo you are looking at pictures of and info on the exact car you’ll rent. A much better way to rent.

It was great and very convenient on booking the res. then picking up the car and its was easy extending the rental had a few minor incidents with the car acting up but they were very convenient on trading it out so all in all at the beginning it was nice but now all of a sudden I'm needing another rental and I'm getting charged a deposit for insurance when I didn't before so I'm kind of having a little issue with that one I'm not old okay with that.

Overall it beats sitting at Budget rental in line. There are lots of areas for improvement though. I think Turo needs to do a better job of vetting airport pickups. A LOT of the time it's not really a door to door experience. I recently had to take a 15 min shuttle to get to my Turo eventhough the car owner advertised the car as pickup and drop off. What am I paying for if this is not really the option, you know? Also, is it not a policy to wash a car each time? I usually get dirty cars on the outside and the owners say "oh sorry only had time to clean inside."

Turo is so easy and hassle free i love booking with them. You can just pay up front with out worrying about have a credit card like you would a traditional cat rental agency. The only complaint i have is I booked a car and realized it wouldn’t meet my pick up criteria so I canceled the car and I’ve done this before but this time I never received my funds. So that’s disappointing but besides that this is a great company.

Cool selection of cars and lots of variety. Disliked how the renter is responsible for cleaning the car, unlike normal car companies where you are not. Car was a little dirty when I received it and I returned it much cleaner than when I got it mostly due to me being worried about being blamed for a mess that wasn't mine. Found that a little unfair.

The process was easy as far as Eric, the car owner. The wait time on the phone for Turo was excessive. The limited capabilities at this point is frustrating. For instance, changing the primary driver. I was told to cancel the trip, which assesses fees, and reschedule. The customer service rep was friendly and tried to help. I will use this service in the future.

Easy to navigate and reserve a car. Fees differ for different days, not clear if that is being done by Turo or the car owner. App very efficient in managing end-to-end process. Should be fee assessed to owner, and credited to traveler, for reservations canceled by owner at the last minute. Very responsive support personnel, in the event you have a question not already covered in their extensive FAQs.

Turo is a great concept. I don't think all of it's users understand the concept of a community sharing service however. Turo still has work to do with it's booking system as well. I've had several experiences where I booked a vehicle and it wasn't actually available and had to be refunded. All of the vehicles aren't clean when you pick them up either unlike a traditional rental car services.

I am really pleased with Turo except for one thing. .. Before my first trip, I went to the website to use the $25 code, but was unable to. I called customer service, told them the website would not allow me to use the promo, and asked if maybe I could use it now. I was told no, it had to be before the first trip. I'm a satisfied customer, but would have been an EXTREMELY satisfied customer if I were able to get the $25 credit.

We rented our car in Phoenix, AZ. The pickup at the airport was quick and easy, as was the short drive to the office. The same was true on our return. Fast, friendly service. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating is because the car itself was a bit sluggish going through the hills between Phoenix and Flagstaff. The ease of rental and staff were excellent.

Enjoyed the car, it was a great rental and smooth and easy, came into town and had no issues. Really enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend the pick up and drop off for DFW. Easy to communicate with owners and very accommodating

My host met us at the airport and helped us load in our carseats and luggage. He was terrific and so kind. We had a misunderstanding about our return trip that caused me a lot of stress, but he was apologetic and took care of the car cleaning for me. Otherwise, the entire experience was really fantastic
