The Good

  • Multiple Refinancing Options
  • Get Rates Instantly
  • Low Minimum Credit Score
  • Prequalify with no Impact to Your Credit Score

Multiple Refinancing Options

AUTOPAY offers multiple types of refinancing:

  • Traditional refinancing — lower your interest rate, reduce your monthly payment, shorten the length of your loan, and find a lender that better fits your needs
  • Cash back refinancing — get as much as $12,000 cash back and use funds to pay high interest debt
  • Lease payoff refinancing — keep a car you are currently leasing at the end of your term and even pay off the lease early

With these options you can more easily tailor your refinancing experience to your specific needs and circumstances. It is important to note that not all auto refinance lenders offer cash back refinancing or lease buyouts.

Get Rates Instantly

No matter the reason you're refinancing your vehicle, AUTOPAY works hard to make the process short, simple, and entirely online.

To start, you will need to provide some basic information. This includes things like your name and whether you're applying alone or with a co-borrower. You'll also be asked to provide your address, previous address, current employment status, and information about the vehicle and your existing loan.

Once all the e-paperwork is filled out, AUTOPAY will present a list of loan offers from different loan lenders.

Low Minimum Credit Score

With a minimum credit score requirement of approximately 600, AUTOPAY recognizes that not everyone will have a perfect credit score, and is committed to helping everyone refinance their auto loan. AUTOPAY will work with you to get the best rates possible.

Prequalify with no Impact to Your Credit Score

To see your rates, AUTOPAY does a soft credit inquiry or a soft pull (which does not affect your credit score). This is great for those who are merely comparing quotes and shopping around before committing to an auto refinancing loan.

Once you select a loan offer with AUTOPAY, then a hard credit pull is required.

The Bad

  • Not a Direct Lender
  • No Refund Policy

Not a Direct Lender

While it isn't necessarily a bad thing that AUTOPAY isn't a direct lender, processing and underwriting loans in-house, it does have a few drawbacks: rates are subject to change depending on the lender you choose from AUTOPAY's network, and fees may also vary.

However, refinancing through a marketplace lender, such as AUTOPAY, does provide you with greater flexibility in finding the best loan option for your needs. But it is important that you reasearch your chosen lender to know what fees and terms they might have.

No Refund Policy

AUTOPAY has a no refund policy. Don't expect any refunds to be provided for payments made to your AUTOPAY account.

gavel

The Bottom Line

AUTOPAY is a good option for anyone who has recently improved their credit score and would like to start their search on a refinancing company.

AUTOPAY is not a lender, but is a lender marketplace (meaning you fill out a form and will receive offers from multiple lenders in AUTOPAY's credit union network). Most auto refinancing companies operate under the same model, providing a borrower with the ability to view and compare various refinancing loans and rates. A benefit or working with AUTOPAY is that a list of lenders will be populated after you enter your information online. Many other companies require a phonecall with a company representative before a borrower can access a list of lenders.

After submitting your application, AUTOPAY will do a soft credit pull, which does not affect your credit score. If you choose to work with a lender, then a hard credit pull is required.

There are currently no AUTOPAY customer reviews, and so we are not in a position to recommend this company at this time. If you have refinanced an auto loan through AUTOPAY, please leave a review about your experience to help future consumers.

Worst svc. Gimics, Reference # APxxxxxx8567. Their sales person Ms.Aley, not asking question but sound like INTEROGATING that I might did something to my car. Simple questions got very deep sensitive. Hard to understand her. Incorrect answers for my simple question. Made a BIG mistake that I tried them for my Refinance. Will never ever recommend them to any of my friends or family. I guess I got saved before they Hit me hard.. as they already hit my credit score hard. God Saved Me though!

Don't fall for it. This company just contacts lending companies for you. You're better off doing it yourself. They insist on trying to call you every two minutes while you're at work and can't answer your phone for personal calls. I've read other reviews on Google and AI searches on thier ratings where they use bait and switch tactics with phoney "progress" displays trying to reel you in further, when in the end what they "found" for you is worse than what you already have. The last thing that makes them one of the worst companies out there- they sell your info like you email address. After you sign up, you'll start getting hundreds of spam emails daily. I used to get 20 or so spam emails per day. After creating an account with Autopay, within 24 hours I started getting 20-30 spam emails every 2 hours. One day, during a 24 hour period I received over 200 spam emails. Avoid Autopay.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I applied for refinancing as the “pre qualified estimate” for what I’d pay was great! Go ahead and apply and somehow the offer they decided to give me was double the length period and double the interest rate. After going back and forth with someone from auto pay, I was able to get another offer for 60 months. Went ahead and told him I’d like to pursue this refinance with the 60 months. Immediately then tells me that HE inputted the interest rate wrong on the link he sent me. Resulting in little to no difference in interest I’m paying now with my current bank, with the monthly payment going up. In the end I decided this clearly wasn’t the right place to go through for my auto refinancing

Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with a car loan. Was told that I was approved but then was constantly bombarded with “we need more information, we lost your paperwork, we need a new paystub” even though they had already changed the lien holder on my insurance. They are scandalous and disorganized. After 3 weeks of spending all my days off trying to gather information I told them to forget it and cancel my application. Steer clear!

Biggest piece of shit company I have probably dealt with in a long time. Sending me multiple notifications to refinance a car they then turned around and told me I can’t refinance. It’d be one thing if I approached them, but no, that was not the case. Emailing me, texting me, telling me they are going to call, then they don’t. When I was told you call them, I get sent to voicemail. Literally a waste of time. Avoid this company at all costs, I will be contacting the better business bureau about them.

The worst. First, they kept asking me for more and more documents. Three weeks had passed, they all of a sudden realized that my truck loan was done in Texas. I had to go to the DMV and get the mileage verified. A week after that, they needed an updated paystub, because the one I submitted a month ago was too old. I said enough. I went with another refinance company and they had everything done in three weeks. No trip to DMV, no submitting documents for a second time.

I didnt follow through because I was promised a rate in which did not become reality. Even after being told that is what it was going to be and at that term. And I constantly had to reach back out to see what the status was, I had no such experience with rate genius I will say. I will also say, I will not be a returning customer. The person handling my case was nice, but never have I been told a rate that was not true and filled out ALL those papers to be told it was going to be MORE than my current rate. Very upset. As most working individuals would be that are scraping to get by. Unless someone higher has something to say about this review, I will NEVER be back and NEVER recommend this to anyone. Rate genius has never promised me anything they did not fulfill. What a waste of time.

If don't even do it, don't waste your time, they will run your credit for nothing, just to tell you there's are going to be the same interest and payments, just to let anyone know I have a credit score of 790 and nothing at all bad on my credit and they still couldn't come up with anything. So if you don't want you credit score to go down, do t do it . I don't wright reviews unless it real going to be bad for someone else. And I always try for other people not to get fooled.

I was going to do business with the company until the agent, Christy, was trying to rush me to sign the document. I asked Christy to please give me until Monday to read over the paperwork, and she stated no, we need it signed by tomorrow, which was Friday. It received the documents on Thursday (today). She stated that if you don't sign, we will cancel your application, and you can't apply again for 6 months. She also told me to sign it now and read over it afterwards. If I decided not to use the company, they would cancel it. We all know that isn't true, right? That became a big red flag for me. Only I said no, I would like to read over it first, she said I will cancel your application and hang up the phone. Afterwards, I received a text message that it was cancelled. I was so shocked by everything that happened. I was going to do business with this company, but thanks to Christy, she helped me avoid making a mistake. She was very rude, and I was very happy, so was rude. Below is the text I received from her and the cancellation. Beware of the company. Here's the text I received for her. Keep in mind, I don't know if the information was going to her spam folder. "Hello I do see your messages please try not to spam my email. I do work with 40 other people when I am available I will always reach out. " Other text: Application AP25........... closed due to stipulations not fulfilled. Just because I wanted to read over my contract. She closed out the application. I only asked for a couple of days to get everything together. Beware of bad customer service and being scammed. Thank you, Christy, for showing me the true colours of this company by the way you acted on the phone.

This started out ok and I followed all the instructions. When it was time to sign the contract I did not see where it asked for Down payment. I asked Monica what about the down payment she specifically said don't worry about the down payment because the lender is funding the loan in full. I was like ok Great this is awesome. A month later, the previous lender called to say I still owed. I reached out to auto via email to Monica. She called me furious saying I need to pay the $2400 now, so I was hold on wait a minute this was a month ago you told me I didn't need to and I've already spent that money. I mentioned that I would make an arrangement with my previous lender to clear the balance and she basically said no if you can't pay now the deal is off I'm going to cancel the transaction. Keep in mind they've already funded the loan and my due date was in a few days. I emailed her and she basically replied making it seem as if I was the problem when they did not have proper checks and balance. This by far is the worst experience I have had and I'm putting the world out there for everyone to stay away from autopay.

Hi Tanille, I'm so sorry to hear about this experience. We always strive to be as clear as possible during contracting, which is when a down payment is agreed upon. Since the down payment came as a surprise, then we would love to talk to you soon so that we can research this further so we can make sure it doesn't happen again. It took nearly a month to complete the process due to Autopay sticking their foot in the middle of everything. What I thought would be a mutually beneficial relationship turned into a very one sided transaction. I had nearly no control over the process or access to the lender directly which is primarily the reason this took so long. Ashly was very helpful but I found that her timelines weren't accurate whatsoever and on TOP of that when I finally received my check it was misspelled. I'm aware this doesn't affect the ability to deposit the check but It seems Autopay is shouting ‚ they're unprofessional

Hi Steven, thanks for your review, and the critique. Feedback like this helps us to improve, so we're very grateful. We'll be working with your loan specialist and our general process so we can be as accurate as possible with our timelines.

While most deals are wrapped up in just a week or so, some loans can take longer. When things take longer, it is generally because we are trying to make sure your paperwork is 100% in order so that no confusion happens once you leave our hands. I'm sorry we weren't able to complete the deal sooner in your case.

Please feel free to give us a call at 844-290-5731 so that we can receive more of your feedback.

There were many problems with paperwork not being correct (addresses not matching, etc) much of this was blamed on Penn Fed (new lender). The agent "Xin" claimed that he was in contact with my existing lender, they claimed to have no contact from him, someone is not telling the truth. The new lender Penn Fed has funded my loan (sent the check to Autopay), the existing lender has not received anything from Autopay after a ten day delay. So currently I am being charged interest on money sent from Penn Fed to pay off my car loan. My current payment is late to my existing lender. This late payment will negatively affect my credit score. No one seems to know where the money is. I am very frustrated that the process is not transparent. I am frustrated that the Autopay employee assigned to my "deal" seems to be less than forthright about what is going on in the process (either he does not know, he knows and doesn't want to say, or doesn't know how to find out). The interest rate reduction on the refinance is great. The process is terrible. If I had known what I was getting into I would have searched out a service that was better organized.

I applied twice with AutoPay to refinance my vehicle because they advertised better interest rates that looked like a great opportunity to save money. The first time I applied, I saw a rate lower than what I currently had. After submitting the application and speaking to someone, they told me they could only match my current rate—not lower it. But they had already run my credit, which caused my score to drop. A few months later, I tried again to refinance my Ford F-150. I currently have an interest rate of 7.77% for 84 months, and I saw they were offering 4.94% for the same term. It looked like a great deal, so I applied again. But once more, after running my credit, they told me they could only offer the same interest rate I already have. My credit score dropped again for nothing. This company gives misleading offers just to get you to apply, and they’ll run your credit without giving you the rate they advertise. I do not recommend AutoPay to anyone. Please learn from my mistake and avoid wasting your time and hurting your credit.

I had used auto pay for my loan refinancing a while back and it went seamlessly, but that’s not why I’m on here to review. My daughter needed to refinance her loan to get me off as the cosigner and because I had such a good experience the last time I sent her the link to apply She lives 2 1/2 hours away from me so coming down here to do this is not easy. They did not give us enough time. We had to redo it multiple times because they gave her false information and the paperwork was not right. It was the most excruciating experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend for the future, especially if you have a cosigner.

Holly at Auto Pay on behalf of Affinity Credit Union was extremely condescending and insensitive to me today over the phone. Auto Pay has inconvenienced me for months due to the DMV requesting a new POA and the company offered me $50 for the inconvenience in 2023. I responded and never received the documents. However, this wasn’t something as a customer that I believe I should’ve been responsible for, hence why I was offered compensation. I’ve been going back and forth to the DMV for months as they could not find my car registered in Georgia but only in Montana. I’ve never lived anywhere other than Georgia. Since January 1st. I haven’t been able to legally drive the car that I make payments on faithfully every month due to a mishap on Auto Pay’s or Affinity Credit Union’s end. Today after visiting the DMV I was told that I owe $610.25 to transfer the title. I called Holly as she told me she would call me back or have her manager call me to discuss how I can be compensated for this lengthy inconvenience. She laughed at me on a recorded line and said that I’m insane to think that they would pay my car off. She called me insane multiple times and said, “no we won’t compensate you, it’s your fault and I’ll disconnect the line if you keep yelling.” I explained that I wasn’t yelling at her and it was unfair to call me insane for requesting any type of compensation for this. I’ve been asking for months and I get ignored. Holly should not represent Auto Pay or Affinity Credit Union. I’ve been in management for 15 years and I would never talk down to a customer the way Holly did to me today. She laughed at me and didn’t empathize with me at all. She didn’t seem to care about me being inconvenienced and made it clear that she wouldn’t help me before hanging up in my face. I would hate for this to happen to someone else. It’s such a sensitive situation and customer service reps should be in place to help and serve not be rude and condescending. Please help me with this. She has since ignored me again after her manager told me to reach out to her regarding this matter. I reached out to her at 7:56am this morning and it took for me to reach out to her manager via text for her to respond 6 hours later. This experience has been horrific and I would love to please hear from someone.

My experience was terrible. I was called/contacted nonstop until I agrred to sign the loan. It then took 6 weeks and 5 failed checks to pay off my original loan. I as the customer had to track down where to send it and spend my time resolving Autopays error. I dont think Autopay should make a dollar on this transaction. I was lied to repeatedly and now no one will contact me back. Terrible sevice.

You should not have your auto text services send messages on weekends when no one is available to assist them. I received a text on a Saturday that documents were needed and no one was even working and it took longer than a week to even be contacted back after I applied and uploaded all my documents. f it wouldn't have been too late in the process I absolutely would have withdrawn my application.

The process was quick, however my agent seemed too busy to really explain to me the conditions of my refinance. i did not need additional insurance, yet it was added anyways and increased my loan by $3000. i guess i should've read the fine print a little bit more, but this was not discussed with me and I did not need an extended warranty. now instead of saving money I will be spending more!

They also kept saying the process was waiting to get approved but then would say they needed more from me days later. didn't hear anything from them and then i got a letter in the mail saying it was approved but it was higher than i was expecting. I was going to hold off on refinancing due to having to come up with money to do it, on top of a very large bill that was about due. I was assured several times that I wouldn't have a payment for 60 days if I refinance. The loan gets approved, and payment goes through to previous lender. Then I get a notice saying my fist payment is due in less than a week. I've been extremely stressed trying to get this dealt with, but now my very first payment will most likely be late. I do have a 100% on time payment history, and now that will probably change. Thanks Autopay!! Horrible experience.

They took about a month to get my refinance together. When everything was finally done, they didn't get the payoff to my old finance company in time. I told them my issue, they weren't listening and just continued to tell me when they sent the payoff out. I had to pay an additional $500 to pay off the rest of the loan and I didn't get reimbursed or anything for it. They stopped answering me when I told them my issue.

Horrible. They show you great pre approvals then run hard inquiries on your credit and then cancel the application and tell you they want $19,000 as a down payment and to fill out another application if you would like to proceed. This was just to do a refinance on a vehicle. I was told to beware of the bait and switch with this place but I didn’t listen and learned the hard way. Deserves 0 stars. Bad way to do business.

So disheartened that a hard pull on credit report is used before u even get an estimate! Other companies such as Capitol One, do a soft pull, give u an estimate, when u agree they tell you they will do a hard pull. It is automatically in the agreement that u check yes, my fault for not reading it correctly however, buyer be aware, your credit score will drop automatically from this hard pull!

I chose five, as they are awesome to work with. From the first day until the closing, I was so pleased with everything! I worked with Harrison and he was awesome to work with. I would recommend Autopay to anyone!

Well, I have been getting told by the company my refinance went through that they never received the title after payoff and now they are telling me I'm in breach of contract and can't get ahold of anyone at Autopay to speak to about this.

was not a smooth transition. Vicky was rude on multiple occasions. I was sent a fedex return postage to send docs for the transfer and the fedex lable was no accepted so I had to pay out of my pocket $60 for overnight shipping through ups and was told I can't be reimbursed. will not recommend this company to anyone

I could never get a straight answer. if I called with a question the response was rushed and did not address my question. I repeatedly submitted documents that should have been accepted the first time. the call in system never worked.

Process took way too long went through 2 representatives to get the job done, and was told I'd have 60 no payments upon loan aproval and my first payment was due in 14 days instead. Strongly feel I was lied to, and very disappointed in the misleading!!!

Hi Kevin, I'm so sorry to hear you weren't expecting payment so soon. Normally, the first payment days are 45 to 60 days from their initial offer. We normally inform you of the payment date before and during the signing process, so if you weren't told, we want to know! Do you mind giving us a call at 844-290-5731 so that we can research this further?

It was one of the worst experiences in my life. They tell you to call them and then all you ever get is a voicemail. They NEVER returned any of my calls. I finally got in touch with them after my approval by email but it took a good week!

A month later and I still have no contract in hand. I was told my loan came with warranty and with gap insurance but the loan company says they see nothing on their side. I am no payin $150 more than I was previously (loan and warranty) and 6k more than I owed. This was by far the worst experience I could imagine. Thanks for screwing me royally.

Terrible Terrible communication with my representative. Wasn't very knowledgeable about any of my questions. Terrible response time. It took literally 2 months to refinance my car. Unbelievable! It took me less time to close on my house

They took 8 weeks to pay off my initial loan on a refinance, and then the payment was sent to the wrong place. My car payment for my initial loan was 28 days past due because of the delay. Because of this, Autopay would have to reissue a new payoff check, so I had to stay with my original finance company and make a double car note.

Issues with sending payoff check. Caused my credit to drop 80 points. I was in the process of buying a home. Cause me more money to refinance using a 3rd party payoff company. Communication was off. Pay off check still not received and it's been almost 3 months.

. I had a very disappointing experience with this service. The customer service and sales representatives were overly pushy, avoided answering my questions, and refused to let me speak with a supervisor. Despite following their instructions, I went to three different notaries—FedEx, Proof.com, and a library—only to have each notary signature denied. This process wasted both my time and money over three weeks, with no sympathy or real assistance from their team. I expected better support and accountability, but instead, I was met with frustration at every step. The application had to be printed and mailed back each time for review which was costly and timely. My customer service worker had terrible response times and was very evasive. I would avoid the headache and go somewhere in person. I now have to fight this place to get my car title back because I’m canceling my application.

There are so many good auto loan refinance companies out there, PLEASE choose someone else. AUTOPAY is TERRIBLE! One department doesn't know what the other is doing. Communication was very bad, mostly non-existent. They will put a lot of hits on your credit report to find someone to approve your application. You could do that yourself. They are suppose to know what companies are the best based on your credit profile. We were approved quick but the process after that was terrible. After 2 weeks of calling and leaving messages, we were finally able to get a hold of a so called manager which was no help, just made excuses for everyone else. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH AUTOPAY.

Luis M was assigned as my specialist, and we had a good start to our conversation. During our discussion, Luis presented me with the terms of a new agreement for 84 months. I told him I didn’t want a loan for such a long term and preferred to reduce it to 60 months with a lower payment if possible. If not, I was willing to pay the same amount or even a bit more but with a shorter term and lower APR. He said this was possible, and we reached an agreement. However, when I received the documents, I saw that the term was 84 months instead of 60. When I asked why it was 84 months and not 60, he told me I could pay more and close it earlier. I responded by asking why I should refinance at all if I could simply pay more on my current loan and close it earlier. To this, Luis couldn’t provide a clear answer. This was an extremely negative experience with this employee, who attempted to mislead me!

**APPLICANTS BEWARE** - Deceptive Application Process I recently found AUTOPAY via Bankrate and it was by far the most deceptive application process I have encountered while searching for an auto loan refinance product. The website requires you to enter all of your personal identifying information to populate accurate loan offers – SSN, VIN, DoB, etc. I was thrilled when I saw an option for refinancing that lowered my monthly payment almost $200. All my information was in so I submitted my application. BOOM. 10 minutes I received an email and text from the loan representative congratulating me on my approval. The loan representative and I then hopped on the phone and said "Congrats on your approval. We were only able to get you XXX terms, though, and that only lowers your payment by $30 do you want to proceed?". Excuse me? You just told me I was approved. My expectation was that I was approved for the loan offer presented to me and that I selected. NOT THE CASE. The entire process was deceptive and to top it off, the frat boy vibe from the representative was giving "I couldn't care less". So here we are. An approval on a loan that didn't exist and a hard inquiry on my credit. I would leave zero stars if I could. A complete farce.

This company gave me what looked like a great Refi option for an auto loan, told me I was pre-qualified and all o and to do was accept the offer. I did. After a hard inquiry on my credit they sent me offers that looked nothing like the original offer and where actually more expensive than my current loan. When I questioned it they told me the original offer isn't actually and offer it is an example of the best case scenario offer and that Autopay doesn't actually make the offers they are just a broker. So they make up something that looks attractive to get you to say yes, they run a hard inquiry in your credit and then give offers that look nothing like what they sent originally. This place is a scam 100%. I wasted days with a rep texting me all weekend to send me an offer of a higher payment and the same term but with supposedly 3% lower APR and their $549 refinance fee. How can you have higher rate, same term, and lower interest? The salesman seemed upset when I told him I wasn't going to refinance for a higher rate and higher overall cost and a $549 refinance cost. Bait and switch scam if the worst kind.
