We have used TurboTax for years and initially had no issues with the software, we even bought one of the versions that gave you access to their legal tax auditors for questions about tax issues. The ease of use has seriously degraded over the years until finally this year we switched over to H&R Block software (this is because TurboTax this year required you to file by February 15th). Two years ago we bought the version that gave you access to their tax experts who actually knew nothing about the several questions we called and asked them. It ended up being a more expensive experience since we had to call an actual tax expert after talking to TurboTax's experts. Waste of money!

If you follow the prompts correctly their free tax filing is fantastic. Just make sure you don't get click baited into the paid version which will cost you like $100 when you do federal and state.

TurboTax is a fantastic option if you commit to doing your taxes with the tool every year. It’s hard to use other tools after using TurboTax once, but they don’t give you much reason to switch from it other than saving $20-50 per year. As long as it makes sense financially/your return is going to be more than $80, TurboTax is well worth it.

TurboTax is a super great program to use for taxes. There are instructions along the way of what needs to go where which makes everything super straight forward. However, if there is anything out of the 'norm' that you did in the tax year, it is hard ti figure out how to report it like capital gains from stocks or selling a house.

Overall I did well doing my taxes with TurboTax. I liked the plain speech used to provide directions. Maybe I missed something, but I was disappointed that I couldn’t see and review the actual forms before filing. And in my mind the price is a bit steep compared with the competition.

The software is easy to use, for the last 15 yrs, however, this year I could upload the updates on my new computer and found a workaround on you tube. I am sure to is aware of the issue, would have been nice to found the resolution on their site.

mostly like it --sometimes it is hard to correct weird errors. For example I couldn't delete an incorrect entry on Sched D this year. Overall it's very intuitive and thoroough.

I like the ease of the software. I have been using it for 15+ years. This year there was a huge glitch, with Windows Defender not allowing Turbo Tax to save any files. I have to disable virus protection to save my work. It took four tries before I even found someone at Turbo Tax to help.I received a new download, it did not help. I bought a new CD; that did not work. I spent way too much time trying to speak to a human being at Turbo Tax. I am angry and frustrated.

I found it very, very good. Though we had an unusual twist that the system didn't accommodate and I couldn't locate online help. My CPA relative determined how to enter data in a way that resulted in the correct result. Again, it was great for everything else such as investments, LLC and gifting.

I have found that the program is very useful, I've gotten a lot of deductions using the product, but it is a very long, tedious process to use, and it usually only produces the results I expect. Sometimes I have to do a very long process for each deduction, I would like if there were shorter summaries of each deduction, and then if I choose to attempt that deduction I would get more detail.

I like using Turbo Tax. We buy Turbo Tax from Costco and can do our taxes ourselves. The instructions are easy to follow and help you through the process. Our taxes are pretty simple as we do not own a business or have complicated deductions. However I believe Turbo Tax could do these too. I would recommend Turbo Tax

I was pleased with how easy it was to download the software and input my information. I was able to complete my return in less than 2 hours and felt confident that all the information was correct. I was so grateful to find a way to avoid paying hefty accountant fees when I could manage myself!

I like TurboTax because it has a completely free version and is simple to use and finds ways to get you the biggest refund. It also saves your progress as you go so you can finish later when you come back to it. It also stores your returns year after year which is nice when you can't find the paper copies.

I love Turbo Tax. It has really taken the anxiety away from filing taxes every year. The very easy to use guide takes you through every possible deduction and liability, transfers previous years information and auto fills any necessary details to your current return. My only negative experience is it seems rather pricey, especially to add state returns, compared to similar programs or paper filing yourself but the ease of use is worth the extra cost in my opinion!

I've been using TurboTax since I began filing my own taxes over 25 years ago. At first, I used the desktop install and once the offering became available online, I started using that. TurboTax has and continues to be my default choice for DIY taxes. I've tried TaxAct and a couple of others, but none are as trustworthy and solid as TurboTax.

It is usually free to file as well, which makes it quite appealing when other software or tax preparation companies charge alot. Very quick and easy for both simple and complex taxes. We've used Turbo Tax for almost 20 years. My favorite thing is that it automatically plugs in information from the previous year that was needed and inputs our federal straight into our state taxes. Because we have a house and I have a 1099 it really lets you just plug your numbers in and moves you right through the process of filing taxes.

For the most part this has been a really useful tool for my husband and I getting our taxes done usually for free or at least pretty cheap. Last year we had to pay a fee because we had some different form we hadn't had before, but I don't remember it being too expensive. For young college students trying to figure out how to get taxes taken care of, it has definitely met our needs and I would recommend.

Let's face it, filing taxes is something we cannot and should not avoid doing no matter how much we might want/try to. TurboTax makes this complicated process a tiny bit easier. It provides instructions through every step and guides new users in a helpful way. However, the amount of steps depending on how much information you have to file and how complex it is, can be overwhelming. There are so many instructions TurboTax can give someone who has never filed alone and although it might seem convenient, the many errors we make on their lead to a lot of paperwork. Lastly, you need some type of background knowledge of how to file your taxes to be able to even gather the information to use on TurboTax.
