My family has worked with WindMar in Puerto Rico for years, so I trusted them when I decided to install a solar system in Jan‑2025. Unfortunately, this led to a serious and ongoing problem: the system was set up under a 25‑year lease with SunStrong Management — a decision I now strongly regret. I want to warn others to avoid entering into a lease arrangement like this. Shortly after installation, the system began reporting issues related to the Mid‑Circuit Interrupter. I later learned this appears to have been a wiring or installation problem dating back to Q1‑2025. Because of this defect, my system produced less than one‑third of the expected electricity for an entire year (about 2,500 kWh instead of the ~10,000 kWh originally projected). This defeats the entire purpose of going solar. The situation became worse when I discovered that WindMar Home cannot perform warranty or technical work without SunStrong Management’s approval. SunStrong has repeatedly failed to follow through, leaving my system underperforming. The result: I am locked into a 25‑year lease for a solar system that does not deliver the promised production, while still having to pay both LUMA and SunStrong — with no meaningful savings or benefits. WindMar Home ends up stuck in the middle, unable to resolve issues because they are forced to wait on SunStrong’s decisions in Houston, TX. Bottom line: My experience has been extremely frustrating, costly, and far from the “clean energy savings” that were promised. Based on what I’ve lived through, I strongly recommend avoiding solar leases with SunStrong Management. UPDATE: As of 25FEB2026, WindMar had scheduled a technical follow-up visit. SunStrong has replied to my BBB customer review but NOT to my inquires through their customer portal.

Initial meetings were very informative and responsive. We did have a lot of difficulty with the main office and getting our services scheduled back in 2021. The scheduling was a terrible experience with missed appointments and long waits on rescheduling because we had very little to no communication with the front office. With this being said, once scheduled and the installers arrived, all was great again. The installers were very knowledge and professional. We are happy with the end product!
