Sunroof Solar is a solar power, solar battery, and roofing provider mainly operating in Long Island and the surrounding areas of Staten Island and the state of Connecticut.
It advertises that it has both lower prices than its competitors in the solar industry and superior know-how when it comes to assessing and installing electric and solar systems for your home or business.
Rather than offering a one-system-fits-all solar solution for your home or business, Sunroof Solar recognizes that you as the customer deserve to have as many options as possible. Thus, it offers at least eight different solar panels and a wide range of solar/roofing combo packages and financing options.
Sunroof Solar’s CEO and president is Ruth Guzzone, who holds two licenses from the Department of Financial Services. Her background is in banking and insurance, and she has been the president of companies in these fields as well as done consulting work for businesses seeking financial counsel.
Not only does Sunroof Solar boast that its pricing is the most competitive in the industry, it also includes actual screenshots of customers’ utility bills after these customers made the switch to solar.
These bills show significant savings, with some customers paying as little as $6 to $12 for their monthly utilities after installing a solar system for their home.
Sunroof Solar offers solar panels from a number of different brands, allowing it to customize your solar system to your needs and the layout of your home or business.
The company offers panels from all of the following brands: Sunpower, Solaria, S Energy, Hanwha, LG, Trina, Panasonic, and Certainteed Solar. This variety allows you to choose what features are most important to you, whether that’s price, durability, sleekness, etc.
Sunroof Solar also installs roofing, and offers low-interest financing in 5-, 10-, 12-, 15-, 20-, and 25-year terms, but we don’t know much more about its roofing offerings.
Other company offerings include electric vehicle charging stations and solar energy backup batteries. We also don’t know much more about these offerings, but the company's website does include a nice comparison of two popular batteries: the Tesla PowerWall and the Generac PwrCell.
Sunroof Solar mainly operates in New York and Connecticut, but also has locations across the country in all of the following states:
Sunroof Solar’s website is difficult to navigate. There are many places where you can enter your personal information to get a call back from the company, but it’s a little unclear what you’re actually signing up for.
The pages aren’t very clearly organized, so it’s hard to find answers to specific questions or really get a grasp of how the company operates.
Overall, compared to competitor sites that we’ve seen, Sunroof Solar’s isn’t as user friendly.
Sunroof Solar doesn’t have much of an online presence. The links on its website to social media pages are broken, and we can’t find much information about the company or ways to engage with Sunroof Solar online.
This makes us a little skeptical, especially since so many of the company’s competitors are much more approachable online.
We’d really like to see more information about Sunroof Solar (pricing, offerings, etc.), both on its website and on social media, before we’d feel comfortable fully recommending this company to you.
