The Good

  • Works with Top Brands
  • Solar Detailing Service
  • Buy, Loan, or Lease Panels

Works with Top Brands

Westhaven Power only works with top solar brands to build its solar power system. Manufacturing partners include Q CELLS, Solaria, Panasonic, and LG — all of which rank among the most energy-efficient solar panel modules in the solar industry.

Westhaven Solar also sources solar inverter technology from both Enphase and SolarEdge, as well as backup battery solutions from Generac and Tesla. Homeowners also have the option to upgrade their system with a charging station from their electric vehicle.

All Westhaven Power solar panel systems come with a competitive 25-year manufacturer's warranty.

Solar Detailing Service

Westhaven Solar VIP customers qualify for the company's solar detailing service, which can improve the performance of their solar system by as much as 45 percent. A licensed solar technician will climb onto your roof and professionally clean your panels of any dust, pollen, or ashes that may be inhibiting its solar output.

Buy, Loan, or Lease Panels

Westhaven Power provides customers multiple ways to finance their solar panel system. In addition to direct purchase, which provides the fastest and most profitable return on investment, the solar installer offers the following payment options:

  • Solar loan — zero money down; start saving money on day one; qualifies for tax credits; paid off in as little as 15 years
  • Solar lease — fixed rate, fixed payment; no installation or maintenance fees; easy to transfer to new homeowner

The Bad

  • Only Available in Northern California
  • Not NABCEP Certified

Only Available in Northern California

Westhaven Power is only available in the Bay Area of California. Homeowners interested in working with this locally based solar installation company, as opposed to a national brand, are encouraged to read Westhaven Solar reviews.

Not NABCEP Certified

The solar energy company has not been certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). This certification signifies that a company employs highly trained, industry-recognized technicians.

The lack of an NABCEP certification takes nothing away from the decades of experience earned by Westhaven Solar; however, it can make the difference to a homeowner comparing multiple solar companies.

I looked into three company's before I selected Westhaven Solar. I selected the 20 year lease. I'm locked in to one payment for 20 years no matter if my power company goes up or down, and I'm 64 years old and never seen it go down so I'm not worried there. They also take care of any problem that may come up for 20 years and guarantee the panels will produce so much or they will fix the problem and cut me a check to make up what it did not produce. Only took two days to install 24 panels and all the electrical items required. It took longer for the city inspection than anything. They took care of everything from day one until the panels are turned on after the final inspection and nothing cost me a cent and I mean nothing! I pay one monthly fee each month and it will be the same for 20 years. They also use Copper in their panels and not the cheep tin. In my research I found This company uses only the best panels made,

From start to finish, Westhaven was very professional. I had always told previous companies that I was not interested in Solar, however, I gave Adam from Westhaven a chance and he was very thorough and explained everything to me. I now own my system with affordable payments and have the backing of a reputable company behind my system with a great warranty. The installation took no time at all and was completely handled by Westhaven.

We paid $35,000 for solar panels and were told we would pay less than $200 a year for PG&E. It turned out to be over $1200 in the first year. Westhaven said that they did not guarantee a dollar amount, just KWH produced. they admitted that the system did not produce enough and offered us $5800 based on KWH not produced over 20 years. The system is guaranteed for 25 years and the amount they were willing to pay was based on 13 cents a KWH which is what PG& credits, but PG&E charges 23 cents per KWH. Could they possibly have done anything more to discount the offered amount? When the inverter quit working, the representative wanted half of the $5800 returned as he had run up legal fees. What a horrible company to do business with.
