Synchro Solar furnishes solar energy solutions to customers in Oregon and parts of Washington. Founded by a solar energy veteran, the company delivers not only solar power to customers but also solar hot water systems. The company was one of the Northwest first solar companies and continues to grow today. It is heavily involved in commercial and residential projects and even equips farms with solar panels to help harness the sun's rays for solar power. Environmentally friendly, Synchro helps customers take advantage of tax credits as well for maximum financial efficiency.

The Good

  • Help Before, During, and After
  • Expertise at the Top
  • Quick and Painless

Help Before, During, and After

Sometimes when working with a company, you find customer service to be helpful during the initial stages but then disappear once you have your product in hand. Synchro doesn't take this approach. The company will be close by from the time you first express interest in a solar energy system even after your solar panels are atop your roof. Synchro professionals will continue to provide follow-up and checkups on your system to ensure you are completely satisfied and that the equipment is working at an optimal level. It's rare to find customer service with this level of commitment.

Expertise at the Top

Though Synchro is a newer company, it does not lack in experience or competency. That's because its leadership and staff come with years of industry work at their disposal. The company is comprised of professionals who understand solar power and how to make it work for you. Be assured: You aren't dealing with amateurs with Synchro.

Quick and Painless

Installing solar panels on your roof and implementing a solar power system is not a simple process in theory, but Synchro makes it much less painful than many other home improvement projects. Technicians can actually take care of the installation in as few as two days. You'll have minimal disruptions, and you'll be able to resume your normal activities all while benefitting from a new solar power system.

The Bad

  • Unclear on Warranty Information
  • No Online Monitoring Information
  • Purchasing Uncertainties

Unclear on Warranty Information

Curiously, the company does not talk about warranty information on its site, leaving this essential feature to the imagination. For a project as large as a solar power system installation, a warranty providers the homeowner some peace of mind knowing they are financially responsible for untimely damage or malfunctions of the solar equipment. If Synchro indeed doesn't have a warranty, you're putting yourself at financial risk if you purchase their equipment.

No Online Monitoring Information

The website also give no information about whether it offers online monitoring for the system. Many companies include this as part of the package, and customers love the convenience of being able to see how their system is doing simply by going to their computer or mobile device. It doesn't appear as though Synchro has this solution available to its customers.

Purchasing Uncertainties

Synchro does a great job describing the wonderful tax incentives available to customers, but it doesn't do well at promoting purchasing types. There is no information on buy vs. lease options, nor do customers have online access to information regarding financing their solar power system. Because all customers are different, various purchasing options are helpful to have, but Synchro doesn't even address these.

The Bottom Line

Synchro has some positive elements to it, but there are just too many unknowns about the company. At first glance, one doesn't know much, if anything, about warranties, online monitoring, contract length or payment options. Doing business with Synchro almost seems like a bit of a gamble. Be careful in your research and find out as much about the company as you can before deciding to enlist their help with your next solar project.
