Sunternal Solar’s main goal is to help homeowners from the rising costs of electricity. The company aims to do this by providing consumers with the most efficient, advanced, and cost-effective solar solutions in the industry.

The company’s partnership with solar panel manufacturers QCells, LG Solar, and Solaria ensure that consumers are getting reliable products that will last a lifetime.

Top Ranked Companies

The Good

  • Price Match
  • Lifetime Production Guarantee
  • Supplier Partnership

Price Match

Sunternal Solar states that it will match or beat any competitive quote (based on equivalent equipment and warranties).

Sunternal does not disclose all the terms and conditions of the price match guarantee, so consumers must call and ask for more details. But if you qualify, it could be a great way to save on a new system.

Lifetime Production Guarantee

Sunternal guarantees its clients' energy production for the entire life of the systems. Again, Sunternal does not disclose the terms and conditions for this guarantee, so it’s up to the consumers to call and get more information. However, if this guarantee applies to your situation, it’s a great deal.

Supplier Partnership

Sunternal is partnered with three of the most well-known and highly respected panel manufacturers in the industry: QCells, LG Solar, and Solaria. These companies are known for making high-quality products that not only are reliable and durable but come with extensive warranties. This means not only are you getting a high-end product but you’ll have decent coverage should anything unexpected happen.

The Bad

  • Workmanship Warranty
  • Financing Options

Workmanship Warranty

Solar warranties will vary depending on what products you buy and what company you buy them from. Some companies will offer 10-year product warranties others will offer 25-year warranties.

There is also a difference between product and labor warranties. Product warranties typically cover the panel itself promising it will not break for a set period of time and if it does, the cost to fix or replace the product is covered by the company. Workmanship warranties protect consumers against component-related issues or labor-related defects — something that happened due to an error from the installer or during the installation process.

It does not appear that Sunternal offers a workmanship warranty to consumers. This means if something was incorrectly installed, consumers are responsible to pay out-of-pocket.

Financing Options

It is unclear what financing options are available to Sunternal clients. We would assume that Sunternal allows consumers to pay cash or through a solar loan, as those are the most common ways to pay for a system. However, it would be nice to know if Sunternal allows clients to lease their system or if PPAs are offered.

The Bottom Line

Although a smaller company, Sunternal takes renewable energy seriously and encourages others to do the same. The company is partnered with QCells, LG Solar, and Solaria to offer the best of the best products and Sunternal works hard to treat clients with honesty, transparency, and respect.

As with all solar companies, we encourage consumers to get all the nitty gritty details on the company’s guarantees and warranties. This ensures that you are getting the coverage you expect and are not surprised if something goes wrong.
