The Bad

  • Service Area
  • Missing Accreditations
  • Subcontracting

Service Area

Greenfield Solar serves only Western Massachusetts, making its service area very limited.

Missing Accreditations

Greenfield Solar does not appear to be certified with the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, an accreditation that many highly rated solar companies hold.

Subcontracting

Greenfield Solar partners with Torrico Electric for electrical contracting services. This can make the customer experience less convenient versus working with a company that doesn’t subcontract, as it depends on Torrico Electric and Greenfield Solar each communicating efficiently with each other and the customer.

The Bottom Line

Greenfield Solar offers roof-mounted, dual-axis trackers, pole mounted, and ground mounted solar photovoltaic systems, giving customers a variety of options depending on their building and energy needs.

Greenfield Solar holds several certifications, yet does not appear to be NABCEP-certified, which makes the company less competitive against other solar companies that do hold NABCEP certification.

The solar company also subcontracts with Torrico Electric for electrical services, which could make working with Greenfield Solar less convenient.

Greenfield Solar doesn’t serve customers located outside Western Massachusetts, so interested customers located elsewhere need to contract with another solar company.

The biggest advantage to working with Greenfield Solar is its experience in the solar industry. While many solar companies are relatively new, Greenfield Solar was founded in 2005, giving it more than 15 years of experience.

Greenfield Solar is an option worth exploring, alongside other solar companies, for those in Massachusetts.
