Green Home Systems was pretty easy to work with. We had issues with the first project manager assigned to us for not communicating, and they assigned us another project manager that seemed much better at communicating. We had tons of delays due to our electric company absolutely dragging their feet and the whole project took 6 months, but between my husband and I, the installers, and our Green Home Systems project manager harping on the electric company almost daily, we eventually got the project done the day before our loan was set to expire.

Upgraded my solar with a battery backup. Install went well. Did not need it the first year at most used 5% of battery at a time for minor outages. this year Ian took out power for 1.5 days with no sun the day before outage used 80% battery. It fully recharged when sun came out in 3 hours. was charging station for nieborhood.

All the terms were described very clearly and while there were some delays in the permitting process, the site lead for the installation always kept in touch and set expectations. Overall, I had a great experience. I went back to them when I looked to expand my solar system again.

I am a contractor that was hired to perform work by Green Home Systems. I have been owed a total of $30,000 for well over a year now. This company does not pay it's bills and continues to sell solar systems to unknowing customers throughout the US. I actually just called and got a quote last week. They are criminals and should be in prison.

I agreed to have Solar installed in October 3023 & through lack of communication, false promises, delay planning & 2 Project Managers ( the last had no experience)I was forced to cancel 6 months later in March 2023! The last limited conversation was they were having trouble finding an installing contractor!!

Tried to get a quote from them, after lots of "We are going to blow your mind with how much money you're going to save" and "We are such a legitimate company and we are amazing" I was asked to provide some details before they would quote me for any work. Other than obvious questions like "Can you send a detailed report of your electrical usage" they began asking for my credit score and income per year. I asked why they needed the income and credit information as I would be paying for the system outright. They pressed me more to get the info for me, at which point I made it clear that I do not need to provide that information to them and if they were not okay with that then I would move on. They dropped the subject and said we could move forward with a quote. The next day I received an email stating they need my credit and income to give a quote. Here is a word for word quote from the email: "I need a ballpark annual income-to calculate your federal tax credits, Fed Gov provides you 30% reimbursement on Taxes-calculated by income and system and solar law-we calculate the amount we have more than 1 option on everything." This statement is incorrect, the credit is 30% of the cost of the system and has nothing to do with income. I asked them what "solar law" they are referring to, since maybe they know better than I do? At which point, they said we "are not going to be able to work together". Sounds like I dodged a bullet on this one. Lot's of red flags from the get go with them, sure maybe they have installed plenty of systems that work great, but they lied to me about what is required, so I can only imagine how the install/support would go as well.

Joe, I'm sorry that you took offense to our solar advisor asking questions. They do that so that our estimator can give you a valid quote. I'm not sure what the "solar law" is but possibly they were just referring to the tax credit etc. We work hard to make sure our advisors do not give out any false information so the best thing we can do is ask questions to make sure our quote is accurate. I don't think that this attention to detail deserves a 1-star rating. Since you didn't do business with us, then there should be no rating from you.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I contracted with them last year in September and was promised our project would be done by winter. After a bunch of excuses and more false promises, it is now June of the following year and my project still is not done. We had no issues with financing or any know problems that came up. The panels were put up and all parts delivered two months ago, but they still have not come back to set it up even though I have already been given 3 dates in the last month that it was supposed to be done. I have to call several times to my project coordinator and his manager and all I get is another false promise.

We considered Green Home Systems; however, after the presentation we choose to go another route. The representative could not answer simple questions. We asked about how well solar panels work in the winter in Minnesota. She kept repeating "well its still sometimes sunny when it snows." When she finally understood that snow would be on the solar panels (duh!) she said we could just get a ladder and clean it off. Obviously she had no concept of snow and ice! The bigger issue is that Green Home Systems has sold my phone number to several solicitors. I've been getting upwards of 5 spam calls per day recently. I should also mention that when we declined their services, I received an email from them on their new offer, which was a marked reduction in costs. They clearly inflated their original price.

UPDATE- I am updating a former positive review that I gave Green Home Systems. They had provided good customer service throughout the long install process due to Xcel Energy being extremely difficult, however, now that our project is complete it is impossible to reach our project manager or anyone at all. We were promised to get something that shows our energy consumption. Our system has been operating since February and we still don't have what was promised. We have tried numerous times to get an answer to what the hold up is. We even currently have 2 open tickets with the company and still haven't heard anything. We are at our wits end with this, and just want to be done. I do not look forward to the day that our panels may have issues, as we will not be able to get a response from this company. It is a full time job just trying to track them down after the project is complete.

We signed a contract with green homes in October of 2022. At that time we were told by Anthony C it should be completed by the 1st of 2023 depending on the winter (which we didnt really have one). We paid in Cash at the time lines we were told. In Feb 2023 we paid our final payment (against my husbands wishes) because Issac T told me we had to to get it finished. It is June 6, 2023 and we are still not up and running. We have gotten the run around and every excuse in the book since then. We have received conflicting story’s between the company and contractor. We are continuing to have to pay an electric bill and myself, daughter and aunt have missed multiple days of work that we are not getting paid for, some of those days no one even showed up to do any work. This is the worst company i have dealt with

I am so disappointed in the service I have received from Green Home Systems. Jeri promised me the world during the sales call--an EV charging system, professional installation no matter how remote I lived, a system that would save me money, and a $1000 rebate if I signed up today. The project manager, Miguel, had a hard time finding an installer in my area--he spent about 2 months trying to find someone. The first one cancelled on the day he was scheduled to come, then Miguel offered to pay my partner (an electrician) and me to do the pre-installation site visit for them so the project could begin. He promised to pay me what it would cost to have an installer come to our remote town to do the visit. We are a couple of hours drive from any sizable town. We sent photos and I drew up a detailed plan of my roof with measurements and sunrise and sunset locations. Of course, I never saw the money I was promised. It was supposed to come through PayPal, but then I was told it would be given as a discount on my loan. Neither has happened and this was promised over 5 months ago. Finally an installer showed up, but obviously did not have a lot of experience installing solar panels. He installed mine in the shade. Before that he recommended I put them on a part of my roof that doesn't get sunlight until about 10:30 or 11 am. He had to come back 4 times, the last time was because the job did not pass inspection--he did not use an adequate number of brackets, did not have things labeled properly, and mounted the inverter crooked on my house with insufficient support--it actually fell off the house when the inspector touched it. My partner ended up finishing up so that we could get the permit, because even after the 4th visit, we still did not pass inspection. The installer also put a hole in my new metal roof when the corner of one of the panels landed on it. He patched it with unmatching metal that was screwed on crooked. After almost 2 months they had an insurance company call me to get an estimate going so I can get reimbursed for a more professional repair, but I had to fight for that. Then it was discovered they gave us the wrong antenna--we don't have cell service here and they gave us an inverter that requires cell service. I've been waiting for someone to install the proper antenna for almost 2 months. I'm also still waiting for the permit from the power company--I asked Miguel to get started on that because I'd heard it takes a long time, but that was 6 weeks ago and still no power to the system. My attempts at communication with the company are usually met with no response. Customer service is terrible! I never got the EV charger Jeri promised, and now Jeri, the sales person, says she made a mistake and it should not have been on the offer she sent me. She offered to sell me one for $1500 (said it was worth $2500), but I checked online and the most expensive one I could find sold for $900. She also made a mistake on the loan documents she amended to provide me with 12 panels instead of 10--I only got 10 panels, which is unlikely to meet my electrical needs. She offered to give me the other 2 panels for just $2000 more, but they sell online for less than $400 a piece. I never did get my $1000 rebate. Now the loan company they work with wants to start my payments, even though Jeri promised that my payments would not start until 60 days after installation. So now I either pay my electric bill on top of the solar loan, or they threaten to affect my credit score. This experience has been a huge disappointment from the beginning! After the installation process began, I started getting phone calls from the loan company trying to persuade me into a higher interest loan and pressuring me to take more money out (with higher payments and interest) so I could experience the peace of having more money in the bank. One loan officer actually hung up on me when I insisted I was not interested. I got the sense that Green Home Systems is more about loaning money than professional installation of high quality solar panels.

I'm a subcontractor for Green Home Systems that has done many installations for them over the past couple of years. Starting out, the company was great to work with but as we continued to install for them, Green Home has become harder and harder to get paid for the services I complete. Suppose to be 30 days net, but is now 90 to 120 days with a lot of promises and "the check is in the mail" story. I terminated our agreement due to non payment of services and I am placing mechanics liens on the homeowners properties until I am paid in full for my services. This is just to let any potential customers of any solar company know of what can happen when they sign up. Always check the company out of any bad reviews and always shop around when looking at any purchase. Don't go with the first quote you get. Do your research.

Green Solar is a terrible company to work with! They do NOT return phone calls and WON’T honor their warranty! After a year and a half of trying to get our system fully functioning, and to get them to respond to our issue , we hired an outside company to fix our system. Turns out it wasn’t properly installed - not even grounded {We’re grateful we didn’t have a fire}! We paid nearly $6,000.00 out of pocket to get the system functioning and SAFE! They refuse to give us the money we paid to get it safe and functioning, want us to sign papers saying we’ll never give them a negative review and expect us to continue to pay for a warranty they won’t honor. Don’t do business with Green Solar/Green Home!

EXTREMELY poor service post sales has cost us nearly $7,000 in lost rebate. The sales rep was always quick with communication, then once the contract was signed, customer service has been beyond frustrating. Our installation was delayed, production reporting to our energy company was incorrect, production was lower than quoted (1+ year in) and trying to resolve our biggest issue has been a true nightmare. When checking on a rebate check from our energy company (paid every year for 10 years), we learned that Green Solar only filed for net metering, not the Solar Rewards Rebate as promised. This lost rebate has cost us a quoted $6,884. I have proven to Green Solar their 100% responsibility in failing to file this rebate, but I have yet to be compensated. I will not accept such a huge financial loss due to their negligence in fulfilling the contract and will keep seeking a fair solution while sharing with others to be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS!!

After a lot of research determining the solar system to install in our home, we settled for a 30kW system with 80 LGNeon2-365, with Enphase microinverters, and 3 Empower 10 batteries for backup. Solar Edge was not the cheapest but competitive among the few that said that could provide such a system. After some negotiation over the contract terms, we signed the agreement on 10.05.2021 with the expectation to have the whole project completed between 120 and 180 days (according to the contract) even though we were assured that almost always they have it finalized within 120 days. After the agreement was signed we were informed that they were sending their local installer (we later learned it was a subcontract). Non satisfied with subcontracting the installation, GreenSolar handed the development of the design and vendor coordination/approval (required for full warranty) to the same contractor. Any time we reached out to the "project manager" for status updates, timelines, we received a response that he needed to check with the installer and once even gave us the installer number to handle directly with their subcontractor. After over 100 days without even a plan having been completed for submission to the township or our utility company, as required in the contract, we notified the company of their contractual breach regarding their "time is of the essence" clause. To our dismay, instead of offering an apology or a plan for resolution, we received an unprofessional response completely avoiding responsibility. Later that day the company Legal Counsel offered to terminate the agreement and provide a full refund. Long story short, we accepted the offer and are yet to receive our downpayment refunded. Would not work or recommend the company to anyone!!!

GST has an F rating from the BBB and it is well earned because they were operating in California without the correct Contractors Permit, and the State Licensing Board took them to court and won. This company installed a 5.2 MG watt system on my home in Corpus Christi Texas but used the incorrect panels. I live one mile from the Gulf of Mexico, and salt mist corrosion resistant panels are required IEC 61701...after three years they corroded and were a fire hazard, and GST refused to replace. I had the installation inspected by the City of Corpus Christi, and AEP the energy transmission company and they verified the issue. DO NOY BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I had placed an order with green solar technology for my system in December 2018 after lot or run around and misinformation given finally got it installed middle of April 2019 system that was designed was supposed to cover my usage and so far. The system is only produced half of my usage on September 8, 2019 my system went down and as of today September 27, 2019 my system is still down cannot get the customer service to get me back up and running the system warranty appears not to be what they say it is her telling me that at this point there waiting for shipment of parts that will be at least two weeks before they ship this is totally unacceptable for anyone looking to go solar I would think twice I would definitely stay away from this company green solar technology

My experience with Green Solar unfortunately was a very negative one, and I am thankful that the project was never completed. From the start, i talked to Will, he was very patient and explained everything thoroughly, however I was then turned over to Edwin. Edwin was nice enough to work with, however the process was very slow and seemed disorganized. I was told I was approved for financing and chose one of their options for financing, and signed all the necessary 'contracts'. That's when things got a whole lot 'shady'. There was one change after another, with Green Solar wanting to change many of the things they put in the original contract all of which was in the companies favor. Finally they tried to strong arm me into changing the financing, I said, No I want to stick to the original agreement, and was told that they would honor that. I then found out from my utility company that Green Solar had not filed the interconnection paper work and fees as they had said. I was then notified a week later that they would not go forward with the project unless I agreed to the changes they wanted in the financing. I am very frustrated that a project I was told would be no more than 2 months drug on for more than 3 months, putting it to late in the year for me to find a different solar company. I guess I was always under the impression that a contract was legal and binding, but at this point I am glad that it was not, as I wouldn't trust this company ever. False promises, wasted time, I can only imagine how they would of been had the panels been installed and I needed service, Horrible company, does not stand behind what they say or the contracts they create, NOT RECOMMENDED !

Using an out of state company (Green Solar Technologies) who assured a solar panel system would lower my utility costs and was affordable at the same time due to the local utility company and federal tax rebates, the system was agreed upon. A local sub-contractor eventually installed the system on my roof, but had to make numerous return trips to finish the work. (TOTAL installation time took 5 months from signing the contract to interconnecting with the local power company. My neighbor with a larger system through a LOCAL company went from contract to interconnection in 5 weeks! The after-installation support was an uphill battle as the company is in California and they put the problems of my system on the sub-contractor (THEIR contractor), who dropped the ball by not submitting the rebate registration paperwork to the local power company here in Texas. The system was installed without authorization from the local power company. The sub-contractor was their “guy” so they are ultimately responsible for the situation. The system finally works, but I am out over $3,000.00 in local power system rebate funds....

Took my money and provided good service until system was installed. Since then they have been a nightmare....terrible at getting back to me with issues with my local power company which is Pacific Power located here in the Shasta Valley CA! Sub contracted out installation which is probably the normal way the solar business works. I just hope nothing goes wrong in the future because they have been terrible at responding back in a timely manner. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company who I spent a good deal of money $28K. Do yourself a favor and shop around before signing up with these guys. They are great up until it is up and running and then everything changed and they have been terrible with the subsequent issues! I should have taken legal action!

We were told that our solar payment would offset our electric bill. Now we pay $180 solar and an average of $120 electric. Our electric bill has only decreased by about $60. Solar panels are productive for about 4 hrs a day. I don’t believe they were truthful in their sales pitch. We have contacted them and our electric company often, but basically what’s done is done. Panels look nice and installation was hassle free, just disappointed with the costs.

I would provide a 0 star if I could. I signed on with them and my system stopped communicating and it’s been 1 year and 3 months and nothing g has been done . They asked me for $800 more and I was hesitant but said ok need to upgrade to get it to work and they took my money and I have zero resolution and am just being ignored ! Please do not fall in their trap they are the worst company and going solar is a big decision do your research .

Terrible customer service. Once contract is signed, you can NOT get a return call or email. Expensive warranty is worthless as company looks for any reason to claim you voided it, even if it was due to their lack of a response. I don't usually get sucked into dealing with con artists, but this was an entirely regretful decision. Don't be like me, work with another company.

I was lied to told we did not have too go with it just lets sign you up and see if it works for you. I called twice following with in the three day limit no answer till the fourth day and no you cant get out this. Could not believe what I was hearing and now we got to deal with them. this is a scam artist company do not give them any of your info period.

I have no idea if their product is any good because I couldn't get passed the initial people on the phone. The first girl was early 20s, unable to hear anything with her Bluetooth and then tried to put me on hold because she had a client from NY calling her. What?!?! The next guy at least could talk to me like an intelligent human, but didn't go any further because he said it wouldn't reduce my bills to get solar. I couldn't seem to get past them that I wasn't interested in financing, therefore there would be no monthly bill, maybe I'm just actually interested in renewable energy.

They lie and will tell you what ever it takes to make a sale. Like you can sell your tax credit and not to worry they Will handle everything. Not! Sorry I ever heard of them. Now we are paying $8000 more for our system. It wasn't just one salesperson that told us this, buy two This is not saving us any money. Forget talking to anyone about it, you are just ignored, and being several States away you can't camp out in their offices. Don't do business with them.
