The Good

  • Superior Panels and Storage Options
  • Competitive Warranties
  • Additional Home Upgrades

Superior Panels and Storage Options

EHS sources top level solar products from leading manufacturers as a way to deliver maximum savings to its customers. These include high-efficiency solar panels from LG and Aptos, and leading micro inverter technology from Enphase. These components alone ensure that each EHS solar energy system will rank among the highest in the state for energy efficiency, and will translate to actual savings that homeowners can plainly see on their electric bill.

On top of these Tier 1 solar products, EHS also installs solar energy storage solutions from Generac. The Generac PWRcell is one of the most widely used backup battery models in solar; it provides up to 9 kilowatts of continuous electricity backup to the home.

Solar energy storage is an effective way to boost the efficiency of your solar panel system because it allows homeowners to use surplus energy during the night time, or save it in case of a power outage or other emergency.

Competitive Warranties

EHS also provides some of the most competitive warranties in the industry, meaning nearly every aspect of the solar power system is covered for its projected lifetime:

  • 25-year panel production warranty
  • 25-year panel performance warranty
  • 25-year workmanship/labor warranty
  • Lifetime roof penetration warranty
  • 24/7 system monitoring
  • 12-month energy assurance guarantee

Additional Home Upgrades

As the name suggests, Efficient Home Services is equipped to build in a number of home efficiency upgrades beyond its PV system offering, including the following:

  • Roofing — roof installation, repair, and replacement; roof and attic insulation
  • Windows — energy-efficient windows that meet the EPA's guidelines
  • HVAC unit installation — includes SEER-, EER-, and HSPF-rated upgrades

The Bad

  • Post-Evaluation Financing
  • Only Available in Florida
  • No NABCEP Certification
  • Few Reviews

Post-Evaluation Financing

While readers can assume that EHS makes its solar energy systems available for purchase, the company does not appear to disclose specific financing options until after the homeowner obtains a free quote and energy consultation. Possible financing options could include third-party solar loan financing, solar leases, and/or power purchase agreements (PPA).

Only Available in Florida

EHS is only available to Florida residents. Given the narrow availability of this solar company in a highly competitive market, EHS may find itself at a disadvantage compared to larger solar providers with more nationally recognized brands. Promoting verified EHS solar reviews could be an effective way for the company to stand out.

No NABCEP Certification

EHS does not appear to hold a certification from the NABCEP. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners is an industry-recognized organization responsible for the most rigorous and respected technician certification programs in the solar industry.

The lack of an NABCEP certification is no criticism of the company's quality of workmanship or service; however, such industry certifications can make a difference to homeowners who are comparing multiple solar providers.

Few Reviews

As yes, few verified EHS solar reviews have been posted to Best Company, so getting a feel for how the solar provider actually treats its customers might be difficult for readers evaluating multiple companies.

The Bottom Line

If you live in Florida and are looking to upgrade your home with solar panels or other repairs or additions, Efficient Home Services could be a good choice. Each EHS solar panel system comes with a number of robust warranties and is built with the best solar products on the market.

That said, customers will need to obtain a quote from the company prior to seeing what financing options might be available to them. As always, we encourage readers to check out the latest Efficient Home Services reviews and compare them to the top solar companies in their area before they decide on a provider.
