Bryton Power provides residential services to clients looking to have a photovoltaic solar system installed or roofing repairs or replacements conducted. As a residential provider, Bryton Solar is committed to helping homeowners lock in current utility rates to eliminate the financial strain caused by consistent utility spikes as it relates to energy consumption.

The leadership team for Bryton Power is led by Mike Hayes, David Hosking, and Shaun Hayes each of whom have their own unique contributing experiences and background within the industry. Together, the three assembled operational efforts to launch Bryton Power in 2022. Since then, the company has worked to provide residential property owners with customized solar solutions that allow for a locked in energy rate.

The Bryton Power team has streamlined its process to provide an overall beneficial product and service for its clients. Past clients have publicly shared positive experiences with the Bryton Power team upon the conclusion of their solar project and affirm the company’s ability to install and design quality solar systems.

Financing Solutions

Solar has long been viewed as a positive and economical investment. Unfortunately, it has not always been attainable for homeowners as solar equipment and the cost to have the system designed and installed can range anywhere from $15,000 to $25,000 on average. As a result, many homeowners have had to forego solar solutions.

To accommodate these situations, solar contractors started to offer a range of alternative financing options. Generally, solar companies will offer one or two of the standard financing options. However, Bryton Power offers three different forms of financing: power purchase agreement, loan, and lease.

This flexibility does not exist with all providers, but it does with Bryton Power.

Services Available

Bryton Power works to upgrade home’s by improving and making adjustments to energy related contributors. First and foremost, Bryton Power is a solar company that helps homeowners lock in current utility rates by designing custom solar solutions. These solar systems will then generate most or all of the energy needed to power the home, drastically reducing the monthly utility bill.

Secondly, Bryton Power also offers roofing upgrades, repairs, and replacements. Roofs that are poorly situated can lead to energy issues with air conditioned or heated air escaping and costing the homeowner in the long run. Bryton Power can make the necessary upgrades to any roof and stop this from occurring. Not all solar providers also offer a competitive roofing service like Bryton Power does.

Complimentary Consultations

Interested clients can easily access a free consultation directly through Bryton Power. Some solar companies will charge for these energy assessments, but Bryton Power will do this entirely free of charge without any sort of upfront commitment required. The process is threefold:

  • Initial phone call with Bryton Power representative
  • Home consultations with solar professional
  • Site assessment where a solar technician will visit the property and relay a proposed solar layout and design

This service can cost homeowners a couple hundred dollars depending on the provider, but with Bryton Power it is entirely complimentary. It will likely address any concerns a prospective client may have and provide the information needed to make an informed decision.

The Bad

  • Undisclosed Equipment Information
  • Unknown Warranty Details
  • Experience

Undisclosed Equipment Information

Solar sales and solar contractor companies essentially serve as the middle man between solar manufacturers and solar clients. As a result, most solar companies create partnerships or operate as dealers with tier-1 solar manufacturers. These relationships allow solar companies to sell and install that particular solar equipment.

Generally, solar providers will disclose these equipment partnerships and publicly list the manufacturing party that it works with. Companies will generally list the following equipment partnerships for each item below:

  • Panels
  • Inverters
  • Batteries
  • Mounting/racking systems
  • Monitoring software

By disclosing equipment partnerships, potential clients are able to quickly assess whether or not an installer can provide the type and quality of system desired. Bryton Power has chosen not to include this information in its public forums making it difficult to determine equipment quality and models.

Unknown Warranty Details

Warranties are a staple in the solar industry. Due to the financial investment many homeowners make to have a solar system installed, it only makes sense that guaranteed protections are put in place to safeguard that investment. As a result, most solar providers offer one or all of the following warranties:

  • Equipment warranty
  • Production warranty
  • Workmanship warranty

Generally, the equipment manufacturer will handle the equipment and/or production warranty. It will then be available to the solar installer’s clients. The workmanship warranty is usually covered by the contractor. These warranties together cover nearly every aspect of a solar system’s functionality.

Unfortunately for Bryton Power clients, there is no public information on these warranties. There are no details in terms of contract length or warranty types. In fact, there is no way to say for certain that warranties are available to Bryton Power clients. Most providers within the industry offer up all of this information, even using it as a selling point. Bryton Power has failed to disclose any information regarding warranties.

Experience

Solar is a relatively new product for mass consumption, particularly for residential clients. Due to its hefty upfront costs, solar was not necessarily a viable option for most homeowners for a long time. Due to federal and state incentive programs, that narrative started to change. With these financial incentives, more and more solar contractors started popping up all across the country.

Even though solar is still a relatively “new” form of energy for homeowners, Bryton Power is still in its infancy even compared to other competitors within the space. The company has only offered solar services since 2022, while other providers have hundreds of successful projects already completed.

While this does not mean Bryton Power is unqualified for the job, it simply means that other solar contractors have more experience and have faced complexities Bryton Power has yet to encounter.

The Bottom Line

Bryton Power offers residential solutions for homeowners looking to make energy efficiency upgrades. The company believes in providing the financial flexibility needed to help all interested homeowners make solar power a reality. Options to utilize power purchase agreements, loans, and leases are all available forms of alternative financing through Bryton Power.

Interested clients can take advantage of both of the solar and roofing services available through the Bryton Power team. All prospective clients interested in what the company can provide will have the option to utilize the complimentary consultation service available with Bryton Power professionals.

Despite offering beneficial services to its clients, there are transparency issues to address when it comes to Bryton Power. It is unclear what solar equipment the company has access to or utilizes in its residential installs.

Additionally, there is no public information regarding warranty details or whether or not these forms of protection are available to Bryton Power customers. Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that Bryton Power is relatively new to the industry in comparison to its competitors having just launched operations in 2022.

Considering what is known, and what has not been publicly disclosed, it is difficult to make a sound recommendation regarding the services Bryton Power offers at this time.
