The Good

  • 5-Year Warranty
  • No Subcontracting
  • Solar Removal Service
  • Virtual Net-Metering Program for Churches
  • Unique Solar Carport Design
  • Frequently Asked Questions on the Website

25-Year Warranty

Champion Solar offers a 25-year warranty to its customers. This warranty includes a 25-year equipment, labor, and production warranty. Each solar system comes with an Enphase Enlighten 24/7 online monitoring, so if something goes wrong with the system during that 25-year period, the Champion Solar team will know and will fix it to no extra cost. Homeowners can also monitor their system’s own energy efficiency, production, and power to make sure the system is healthy.

No Subcontracting

Many solar companies subcontract labor and installation to other companies, but Champion Solar doesn’t subcontract any service. All installers and other workers are full-time employees of Champion Solar and share the same company standards. Champion Solar is locally owned and all employees are from the North Texas area.

Solar Removal Service

Champion Solar offers a solar panel removal service to residential homes. If a person needs their solar panel system de-installed to fix their roof and then reinstalled after, Champion Solar can help with that. If for any reason a person wants their solar panels removed from their roof, Champion Solar can have a team remove them in five business days.

Virtual Net-Metering Program for Churches

For churches and other places of worship, Champion Solar has created a virtual net-metering program. This program allows these institutions to take advantage of renewable energy at no cost.

Unique Solar Carport Design

Champion Solar is an energy provider for both residential and commercial solar panel systems, including a unique design for carports. These custom steel carports are specifically designed for solar panels and allow customers to generate solar power and electricity while providing covered parking structures to their guests.

Frequently Asked Questions on the Website

For people who are considering solar panels but don’t want to contact a customer service representative, Champion Solar has a section of frequently asked questions on its website. These questions include information about saving money with solar panels, net metering, increasing the value of a home, and types of roofing and solar panels.

The Bad

  • Lack of Financial Information

Lack of Financial Information

Champion Solar’s website mentions some financial information, such a special program to allow churches to get solar panels for no cost, but the website lacks specific information. Customers can’t see what options are available without talking to a representative at Champion Solar directly.

This lack of information is frustrating when trying to do a price comparison online and when trying to determine if payment solutions will be fixed rate or variable rates. There is also a lack of information about federal tax credit or any other tax credits or incentive that a homeowner could take advantage of.

The Bottom Line

Champion Solar is a locally owned company with employees who have lived and worked in the local area for years. It offers a 25-year warranty, which is better than average in the industry. It doesn’t subcontract its services, meaning all employees work for Champion Solar and share the same values and goals.

Champion Solar offers some unique services, like solar removal and uniquely designed solar carports for large structures. If a person has questions about solar, they can go to the company website to see frequently asked questions, but the website does lack pricing details that would be helpful for consumers.
