BLUE RAVEN IS TERRIBLE! Most incompetent company we have ever tried to work with. We started a project to install solar on our home in May of 2023. We paid a ~$30 k deposit about a month later. As of September 2023 (been 4 months), they still have not scheduled an installation date. Instead, we keep getting excuses about permits not being approved. However, when we contact our City, our City says everything was approved, but Blue Raven failed to pay the required application fees. When we reached out to BR about this, they promised to make the payment that day (either electronically or by driving to our City offices). Of course, Blue Raven didn't follow through. Instead, they keep making excuses.

This company is totally unprofessional. The door-to-door appointment setter dropped the names of several neighbors, so we grudginly agreed to do a quick (30 minutes or less) review of a preliminary report they would prepare for us. The first appointment they scheduled was a 8 pm on a weeknight; the sales rep called at 8:36 pm, stating that his previous appointment ran late, and that he was still about an hour away. We rescheduled for 5 pm on a Saturday. Saturday was another no-show, but this time they outdid themselves by not even bothering to call. If this is they way they act before they even try to earn my business, I'm out.

Would give 0 if I could, salesman provides you with wrongful information just to get you in, then rush you to sign in, they told us about great promotion that just ended but they can still owner it if you sign within 24hr, when you sign everything they just ghost you! Our energy bill is triple now, we used to pay $120 now it’s $370, what a great deal, they don’t tell you anything about hidden fees and additional cost. Stay away from this company, working with legal team to teach this company a lesson as lucky we have recordings of what we were promised by salesman. Good luck everyone and be safe out there! Don’t trust sales people and do your own research.

At the beginning of the project, we received a bill reflecting less than two weeks of usage, which was not something we could provide an exact estimate on. Rather than usage, our team designed the system based on the average residential usage for the square footage of your home. Edit: After posting the original review below, Blue Raven Solar contacted us and told us that they would give us the money to repaint our entire ceiling, but only if we deleted all of our reviews. Some people might call that a bribe, what do you think? They don’t care about fixing their mistakes and taking care of their customers, they only care about protecting their reputation so they can pretend to be a decent company and take more peoples money, in my opinion. Terrible experience. Dishonest and Dishonorable company, IMO. Our installation started on Monday 10/31/22, I was told that the install would be a 1 day install when scheduling it. The crew did not get finished that first day, and said they'd be back the next day. No one showed. Called for an update, was told they'd be back on Friday, I complained that my panels were just left leaning against the house, and they had the crew back the next day to finish. The crew was very kind, however, they did leave a mess in the yard. Shingles laying about, tubes of caulk, drink cups, etc. 11/4/22, luckily I was home during the day, because there was water coming from my kitchen ceiling.Turns out the installation crew missed a rafter when installing the brackets and put a hole in the roof.I called Kristen and and they had someone come fix the hole in the roof right away. After the leak Kristen assured us that the company would handle the repairs to our ceiling. Coming from construction I know touch up paint on ceilings doesn’t look good asked if the whole ceiling would be repainted. She assured us that the company would handle the repairs and told me specifically that she told her manager that the whole ceiling needed to be repainted, and that it shouldn’t be a problem. Then came the next 6 months. Blue Raven Customer service rarely reached out to me, even though when I spoke with reps I was told that someone would contact me soon. I had to continually call them every couple weeks and ask for an update. Every single time the update was something about how they couldn’t get ahold of their paint contractor and that they would start looking for a new one. In February, I spoke with a rep and they asked me if I had the paint on hand for when they found a contractor. I explained that no one told me I needed to get that. I discussed with the rep how much paint and we agreed on two gallons to ensure there was enough to repaint the entire ceiling, I purchased the paint the next day and they reimbursed me for the two gallons. Finally in April, when I called in and they gave me the same excuse of not being able to get ahold of their paint contractor and that they were going to start looking for a new one, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was transferred to Steven H. - Work Orders Lead. Steven told me that they were not going to repaint my entire ceiling and that they were only going to be repainting the affected spots. I explained that I had been assured by my sales rep Kristen and multiple Work Orders Reps that my entire ceiling would be repainted, and even explained that his reps told me to purchase two gallons of paint to ensure that we had enough paint to cover the whole ceiling. He didn’t care. I reached out to my sales rep Kristen, and explained the situation. She washed her hands of us saying she had done everything she could and that we had to talk to work orders. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a company to leave your home in as good of condition as when they entered, especially when they are the ones who caused the damage in the first place. I was assured by multiple parties on multiple occasions that my ceiling would be repainted after they put a hole in my roof. Now, after 6 months of waiting, being the one to reach out for updates and trying to move the project along, and being told they would handle the situation multiple times, I have to be the one to pay out of pocket for my ceiling to be repainted.

Please read this before you purchase solar panels from Blue Raven. Signing a contract with Blue Raven is the most financially detrimental decision I have ever made. Most people have left positive reviews for this company. I would have as well if I hadn't done my homework after I received the panels. I waited a full year so I could get accurate data from every season and then verified the energy savings from my panels. The cost of the loan they sold me for the number of panels I received is $120.89 per month. The average savings I get per month from the panels is $60.76. Summer months are higher and winter months are lower. But on average it is costing me double to pay for the panels than the energy savings I get. The panels are rated for 25 years with a known decrease in production of roughly .5% each year. So every year I am loosing over $700 by signing a contract with them. So over the life of my loan I am going to lose an estimated -$19,178.50. All my panels have been verified to be working properly so it isn't a technical issue. I have had both the power company and Blue Raven themselves verify my numbers and both say the numbers are accurate. Blue Raven actually agreed with my complaint and asked me to continue collecting data for them for another year. I did so and was able to validate my continued losses for them. At the end of the 2nd year they told me that there was nothing they were willing to do to make it right. So I am stuck now paying double for my utilities instead of saving money like they promised me I would. I feel it is extremely unethical for a company to promise you savings and then sell you a contract that ends up costing you double. My email is in the spreadsheet if you have questions.

Poor poor poor communication! We started this process in July 2022, and at November 29, 2022 the solar panels are still not on and our first payment is due next month for a product that doesn’t even work. Specifically in the Cincinnati, Ohio area - to say the team here lacks professionalism is a major understatement. Tree removals were part of what we were told had to be done. The company (Jeremy with Texas Tree Master) our Blue Raven Representative referred us to, took our money and NEVER FINISHED THE JOB! Anytime we had a problem it was one Blue Raven team member pointing their fingers at someone else.

Its been months since my installation and they still haven't fixed the problem that I showed them on installation day. Said they would come back the next day and they never did. I have called Blue Raven multiple times to get them to send someone to fix the problem, each time they said they would but never did.... So the last time I called them they said I should probably just email their work order people myself since they cant get them to answer.... so I did..... have they fixed the problem yet..... NO..... They have emailed me back to say they would send someone, but no one has ever come. I guess that's their game, make a promise and say someone is coming but never send anyone. 4.9 star rating my a$$. this has been horrible... especially since its something they could probably fix in minutes. Sad and Pathetic. If I could id have them come and take their stuff back, give me my money back and ill go with a company that actually takes care of their customers.

We installed solar panels for our house from this company two years ago. In two months, our celing started leaking. When we called them, they said squirrels were making nests underneath the panel and causing the damage, so they asked us to pay extra to install the guards. We spent and got the guard installed, but our roof was still leaking. We called them again, and a guy came and told us that the gaurd was not only installed entirely but also not done correctly. He would send someone to fix it. We have been calling them every month for someone to come and fix it, and they promise to come, but no one has shown up. When we ask for a supervisor, they just say the supervisor is busy at the moment and will call us back, but we never hear back from the supervisor either. We are not sure about our options at this moment.

Beyond a very nice sales representative, dealing with Blue Raven Solar became one of our biggest mistakes. The roof inspector showed up on the wrong day. Installation was scheduled for the morning and Blue Raven called and asked if it could be changed to the afternoon. The installation team showed up in the morning anyway. Since we were not ready for them, they said they would be back in the afternoon at their originally scheduled time. I took off work for the installation but they didn't show. Called Blue Raven and we were told that the installation would have to be rescheduled. I lost work for nothing and when asked if Blue Raven was going to compensate me for my time and the inconvenience, they apologized for the mistakes and said they would refer that question to management. Installation was rescheduled for another afternoon. Blue Raven called the day before and said that the installation couldn't be completed as scheduled because their electricians were taking the day off. Another phone conversation and they found an electrician. When the installation was completed, the control panel couldn't be connected to the house WiFi and a WiFi module would need to be installed but the installation team never notified Blue Raven. Another phone call to the company and they said the module would be ordered and sent to the house and Blue Raven would install it. A month later and still nothing. It took another call to the company to finally get the WiFi module installed. The company sales manager had heard about the troubles we had and reached out to apologize. He was told apologizes are nice but the screw ups were not his. I had lost work twice and there were certainly a fair amount of other inconveniences and screwups. I again asked if Blue Raven was giving some form of compensation for their failures and the company sales manager agreed that something was definitely due for lost work and all other mess-ups and he would talk to the management about a discounted amount from the bill. Managements answer was “No compensation” We received the final bill with the full amount due; no discounts. DO NOT CALL BLUE RAVEN FOR YOUR SOLAR NEEDS.

Blue Raven Solar (owned by SunPower) first showed who they were when they tried installing panels that degraded at nearly twice the rate of the panels listed in the contract. Panels that a Blue Raven Employee told me were 20% cheaper than the ones we had agreed to. I was able to stop the install after the first day, but then had to wait nearly a month to get the panels we initially agreed to, while the original half installed system sat on my roof. During this time, I dealt with various Blue Raven Solar employees with varying degrees of professionalism and at one point had to weather the threat of legal action if I continued to push back on them. Blue Raven eventually located the agreed upon (according to them) panels. At that point I fought for a small discount, which Blue Raven eventually agreed to provide. During the second install, it became apparent that Blue Raven had never intended to provide the panels that my salesperson had guaranteed me, these were the correct brand, but not size. Another corporate employee confirmed that for me when he told me those specific panels were never offered in my area in the first place. Looking back at the email (yes I have this in writing) the rep confirmed that I would be receiving a slightly larger system than was written in the quote and eventually contract when you stacked it up against competitive quotes. This was because Blue Raven Solar calculated system size differently, to account for degradation and give consumers a better sense of what the system will actually produce, this was sold as a unique value add that highlighted Blue Ravens dedication to under-promise and over-deliver. I had told the rep I was gathering competitive quotes, so this misrepresentation was clearly meant to win my business, even though Blue Raven could not follow through. Once I realized that I had been lied to, about a material element of the agreement, I reached out to Blue Raven for options on how to sever the relationship. Blue Raven continues to maintain that the lie was a simple misunderstanding and has reaffirmed that I am stuck with them despite it. Neither Blue Raven or its parent company SunPower, have made any significant attempt to address this lie Bottom line is Blue Raven tried to bait and switch me with lower quality panels, the small adjustment we agreed to did not include downscaling my system and the fraudulent misrepresentation of how they calculate system size, which is the only reason I chose them in the first place, has never been properly addressed. Consumers deserve better than Blue Raven Solar

There is nothing I like about this company. Process started over 6 months ago. Going into month 7 and still waiting for Blue Raven to complete the installation. Representative who talked to us on day 1 stated he would be with us every step of the way to answer any questions we needed. Day 2 he disappeared and is unheard/unseen since. At installation which was about 5 weeks ago, they left empty water bottles between the panels and roof (poor quality work), broke the pipe at the outdoor electric panel, and left a huge hole in my drywall at the indoor electric panel. I have tried to contact them numerous times through email (no response) and phone calls but the only line is currently busy and can leave no messages as their box is full. I wonder why… Communication is horrible to say the least. Customer service is terrible. Last time I saw them was a few days ago when they showed up to repair the pipe but somehow did not have the right circuit breaker. How do you not know what you need before coming to make repairs of what you messed up? Maybe they’ll show up this week or next. Maybe next month. Who knows? I surely don’t. Would never recommend or refer them to anyone, not even my worst enemy. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I just hope it’ll get done before 2022 ends!

Blue Raven solar is a joke.. It's been 10 months since they started. I spoke with Kevin V last week about keeping me up to date. He has done nothing close to it. I have to keep reaching out him and others. I still haven't gotten my thermostat. System been up and running for almost a month and nothing from him. The service is terrible. I will be using all of my social media platforms to let all my friends and family know not to use this company. Bad enough they wanted to give me $300 to revise or take down my review. You would think after taking so long to install, they would try a little harder to please a customer. I would never refer this company to anyone. I wish I had never gotten involved with this company. Thanks alot for my headache. BBB is my next step.

Where to start? September 27, 2021 sign and pay half of what would be a headache, Today April 12, 2022 the system finally seems to work, if 7 months seems little, my headache was not, a disaster customer service Communication with the client was a disaster, but they made sure that yesterday I received my last bill to pay them, I called by phone no less than 10 times to find out what was happening because nobody was able to tell me what was happening, they even told me that I'm sure it would be installed before the end of the year to be able to have the credit from the government (a lie), a total disappointment, the last person who attended me, (I don't remember his name) didn't even care about the frustration I had, I had to call directly to the electrician to solve the problem, which Watts company had already solved the problem 2 weeks before and Blue Raven still said that they had to solve the problem. A very bad experience and company itself. When I told them that the inspector from Sandy city had passed and told me that the system was failed, the person from Blue Raven asked me (yes, me) what the city had told me that it was failing when I had paid half of the installation (which are not a few dollars) for me to tell him what the problem was!!! The truth is that I am very disappointed in this company and never again, if possible, will do business with them. Hopefully the system never fails so I don't have to call them.

This has been one of the worst services of all time! Absolute dysfunction! The sales team did a great job getting in the door and selling the product. Once the papers are signed you never hear from them again! They were quick to install panels on my home but nothing else occurred for a very long time. As they were wrapping up the installation, they found the breaker box needed to be updated before proceeding. Negligence on BRS's part when post installation inspection. BRS agreed to pay for the upgrade. BRS shipped all the parts to my home for the breaker panel upgrade. According to the local electrician the parts were all incorrect. The city came by my home and stated the permits for the panels weren't approved yet and the panels needed to come down. This was all supposed to be taken care by BRS. After weeks and months of calling for a status update on when this panel upgrade would be completed the install occurs 5 months later. This is also after I already started making monthly payments for the solar panel loan which weren't operational. What a joke to make payments on something that isn't operational. I also couldn’t switch over electric companies to obtain credits due to the panels not being operational. Not only due I have solar panels installed but making a loan payment for them along with a full electric bill due to BRS's dysfunction. The excuses I received was "the city is being hard on us." Not my problem! If BRS did their job correctly and well then, these issues wouldn't have occurred. While in conjunction with all this going on I watched my neighbor go through the same hassles. Now I have the breaker panel upgraded and the panels functioning but not able to view the productivity through there Enlighten (Enphase) app. This issue has now been going on for 3 months without a resolution. A technician comes out the first time and states they need to call the installer. Why in the hell is there a technician coming out to begin with if they can't repair the issue. Never say or heard from the installer. Have called in multiple times over the 3 months and advised that it's "on the schedule." It was scheduled for someone to come out two more times for resolution and both were no shows! What kind of customer service is this!?!? Now being scheduled for a 4th time to see what happens. Issue still not resolved after 7 months! The referral program incentive is ridiculous! Filled that out over 8 months ago and took them 7 months to cut a check for it. Why would I ever recommend this company to anyone ever again! Not one call from anyone in management to apologize or offer any type of compensation for the extreme hassle, neglect, and upmost lack of professionalism. If anyone is reading this walk away and do not ever do business with BRS. Take the "R" out and you get your real answer. JUST BS!

I was looking for solar quotes and Blue Raven sent a sales person who showed me a presentation with the wrong house and the wrong numbers. After 3 hours he was able to get his team to fix the mistakes. Told me that in order to get a more detailed quote a site inspection was needed and then I would have 3 days to decide. I initial an online form on his iPad giving permission to access the premises on a later date. I requested further information of the equipment to be installed and could not get a straight answer. After the site inspection all I got was a drawing of my roof with the panels. Therefore, 3 days later I sent an email to the sales person that I had decided not to pursue solar panels with them. Few weeks later they sent me an invoice because it turns out that the form the sales person asked to fill out was their installation agreement and I did not cancel using the proper form. My reliance on their sales person cost me hundreds of dollars.

Customer Support for this company is lacking in both knowledge and empathy for your installed system after 2 years of ownership, this could be the current staff they hired or the company no longer cares for their existing customer systems? My system stopped reporting data 4 months ago (I'm not sure if its working correctly at this point, although the power company indicates power is being produced I'm not certain how much from each panel), so I called Blue Raven customer support. The support person told me that I had to call SolarEdge (the website where you can see your solar panel production details) as its not their problem. There was no further discussion about my system and no indication that they would send a technician out to check my system. The Blue Raven support person did not provide any further help, but reluctantly agreed to contact SolarEdge and open up a support ticket with them. Not feeling like the call went well (lack of empathy and a care less attitude from their customer support person), I open a ticket with SolarEdge, of which they promptly got back to me and said my system was no longer sending data from my site and to contact Blue Raven. This is where I'm now getting very upset, Blue Raven took no accountability with my first phone call, the support person could have asked me to take a look at the panel on the side of my home and see if the system is providing any output details. That would have taken all of about 2 minutes instead of the "you have to call SolarEdge" and speak to them. That is total BS coming from Blue Raven support! Furthermore when a company does not take any accountability for what was installed in a customers home you must ask this question "do I want to do business with them". Blue Raven has no idea if a customers panels are working or not, they don't seem like they care, after all it's the customers system not theirs. This is apathy at its worst, if you want help once your system is online and they got your money in their pocket - I wish you all the best of Luck! P.S. I'm building a new home and will install solar panels but I will NOT use Blue Raven

The installation resulted in several paint and drywall repairs by the crew. We also were totally misinformed about the Duke rebate. When we called to ask Blue Raven about this, we were told that we likely wouldn't have gotten the funds anyway because our project was completed so long after the rebates were awarded for that year. Sadly, the sales person totally misinformed us. We likely wouldn't have gone through with solar this soon had we not been told we would be likely receiving a $4-6000 rebate from Duke. Really disappointed in this company....should have never gone with them. Local is better and should have known.

This is a SCAM!!! They say you get $4000 back on your taxes, that part is true but they do not tell you that you have to put that towards the $18,000 for the solar panels or your payment of $66 goes up. The interest rate is ridiculous. $50+ of my first payment went all to interest! This has been the most awful experience EVER!! And my last two electric bills were over $100!! Also, if they don't tell you, without a battery back up (For an additional $12K that they don't even sell) when the electric grid goes down, you are still out of power. My suggestion, go with a TESLA system, at least they have a battery system. That might be worth the money.

We are normally gracious consumers. But, we have been very frustrated with Blue Raven. We paid cash for our 18 solar panels, but still experience high energy bills. Nevada Energy has confirmed that our solar panels contribute low level energy into the grid. So, what is our option? To buy more panels. Blue Raven calls it “a retrofit.” Twice, we’ve submitted six to ten months of electric bills to document our electric usage. Still, we’ve received no response or a call from Blue Raven to set up an appointment to add more solar panels to our roof. Don’t contract with this company. As far as the sales portion went, the saleman was very friendly and personable. It was nice working with him on the front end. However, this is where the problems first began. We discussed about what would happen if we were to cancel and he informed me that after a certain point in the process, we would be on the hook for a cancellation fee. I told him I wouldn't sign any paperwork unless I got a heads up before I was on the hook for any costs, to which the sales rep promised to do. He also lied saying that that the financing for the solar panels wouldn't end up as a lien on the property even though for all intents and purposes, it is. They sent out the engineer to examine the property and then submitted the plans to the permit office in the area and things were moving along well. Unfortunately, finances became tight due to dealing with Covid so I notified my sales rep that we wouldn't be able to move forward and would have to cancel. He told me he understood but that we would have to pay the cancellation fee as we were past the point of cancellation, to which I replied that he failed to notify me that I had passed the deadline. He basically blew me off and told me I was on the hook for a $1,200 cancellation fee. I tried to discuss the fee with their Finance department saying that their representative broke a legally binding verbal agreement and that I was displeased about it. I also asked for a breakdown of their fee as the cost of the permit was only roughly $600 to which they replied that that was just their standard flat fee and I had to pay it regardless but they provided me the email for their HR department and told me that they would make sure my complaint was logged and responded to. Not surprisingly, I sent several emails and called multiple times, only to continually receive the respond of "we'll get back to you." It has been over a month at this point and I have heard absolutely nothing. Overall, they intentionally don't mention the fact that they will charge you $1200 for cancelling when you are signing the agreement for them to have the engineer come examine your property and will absolutely not give you a notification in advance of when you have crossed the deadline for it. Their HR department has no inclination to actually respond to complaints, even when one of their sales reps makes a legally binding verbal agreement and will blow you off hoping you simply go away. The sad part is that I'm sure the solar panels would have worked well and things probably would have been fine if I had been able to go through with the process but they utterly disregard you if you need to cancel for any reason and are simply interested in ensuring they get whatever cost they can from you and then completely ignore you. Because of this, I will never in good conscience recommend this company to anyone as they deal in bad faith and will downplay the $1200 flat cancellation fee when they try to sell you at the start. If for whatever reason, you do choose to go with Blue Raven for solar and have any requests to be made throughout any part of the process, BE SURE TO GET IT IN WRITING OR THEY WILL NOT HONOR IT.

The company approached from a door to door salesperson. We listened and promises were made about our 2019 tax credit. Once the paperwork was done the company dragged their feet the entire time and refused to work with us about anything. We only asked for the proper paperwork for 2019 and after numerous calls to our Rep and his Boss, they told us "it's not their problem, they aren't tax people." We've filled a complaint with the BBB, to which they lied to them about several things, including dates and responses to us. The BBB wont do anything and we are out money, I will advise everyone who will listen to stay away from this shady business and their lying employees.

The installation proposal clearly states that the timeline is an estimate and may be delayed due to factors out of Blue Raven Solar’s control. Blue Raven fulfilled all obligations by providing a state-of-the-art solar system for her home. The delays in which you are referring to were all out of Blue Raven Solar’s control. Blue Raven cannot be held responsible for these delays as we are at the mercy of the city for all required inspections. At the time of the roof inspection, you were outside of this three-day window. The next series of delays was from your neighborhood HOA. Blue Raven Solar works closely with HOA’s to ensure that all guidelines are met when installing a solar system. We cannot be held responsible for the delays that were caused by the HOA. When you were “assured” there would be no financial impact , this was correct. The tax credit policy states “If by December 1, 2019, your System has not been scheduled for installation on a date before the end of the year, you can ensure 2019 ITC participation by making advance payment to Company toward the cost of the System in an amount equal to 5% or more of the cost of your System. Advance payments should be received by Company no later than December 27, 2019 to ensure timely processing." Blue Raven Solar stands by their work and employees.
Blue Raven Solar has fulfilled all obligations both financially and in regard to the solar system.
