Best Company Announces 2022 Giving Back Award Recipients

December 2022 — Six companies earned this year’s Giving Back Award from Best Company. The 2022 Giving Back Award recognizes companies striving to do good and actively giving back to their community with additional services, funds, and more. 

Best Company is proud to recognize these businesses and highlight their efforts to give back and overall positive reputations below. 

Award Recipients

Better Earth 

Better Earth is a vertically integrated solar company that was founded in 2019. The company currently has over 70 reviews on BestCompany.com with a 3.8 average star rating. 

Better Earth currently services the California, Florida, and Arizona markets and, as a true, full service provider, does not use subcontractors nor third-party points of contact. 

How Better Earth gives back 

Every time the company installs a new solar system, Better Earth donates money to the GivePower Foundation, which helps create solar-powered, water filtration devices in developing areas around the world. 

Better Earth’s website also features a GivePower Foundation donate button, which guides visitors directly to the Foundation’s donation form. 

On its website, GivePower states that its Solar Water Farm Max system “can provide access to clean drinking water for up to 35,000 people every single day.” 

In addition to the company’s donations, a nine-person Better Earth team joined GivePower on a trek in April 2022 to help install a solar microgrid that provides power to a health post in Pakhapani, Nepal. 

Along with Better Earth’s partnership efforts with GivePower, the company strives to educate consumers about sustainability and is regularly involved with local events like community beach clean-ups.

ION Solar has a program called ION Earth that focuses on partnering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Homes for Our Troops to “provide (free) solar solutions to homes, businesses, schools, and shelters in need.”

Vivint has been in business for over 20 years and offers a variety of home security solutions to residential and commercial consumers. 

The company has won several home security related awards including the PCMag Editors’ Choice Award, U.S. News & World Report's Best Home Security System of 2019 award, and more.

Leaf Home and LeafFilter 

LeafFilter is a home improvement company that offers gutter protection solutions. The company has been in business for over a decade and is vertically integrated, which means that it does not outsource work. 

As one of the largest home improvement companies in the United States, LeafFilter services most states with the exception of Alaska, Arizona, and Hawaii, and has over 1,000 reviews along with a 4.7 average star rating on BestCompany.com.  

How Leaf Home and LeafFilter give back 

Leaf Home, LeafFilter’s parent company, is regularly participating in various community initiatives including fundraising events, donations, volunteering, and more.

Gabb Wireless is a cellular network company that provides safe devices and cell plans specifically designed to protect children, empower parents, and connect families.
