The Bugserv pesticide is effective against over 100 bugs and is shipped out according to your climate zone’s hatch cycles, so when you sign up for a subscription, you don’t need to keep track of when you should do the next treatment. You can cancel your subscription anytime.

In regards to customer service, Bugserv offers a re-service component: If you aren’t seeing results with your first box, Bugserv will send you a box for re-treatment, completely free.

The Good

  • Low Pricing
  • Easy Enough for Beginners
  • Location Component

Low Pricing

Compared to technician-based pest control applications, which can cost hundreds of dollars per visit, Bugserv is considerably more affordable. A one-time purchase of the solution and DIY spray kit costs only $42 and the price-per-box drops with each subscription commitment level ($32 per kit when you pay every three months and $29 per kit when you pay yearly for four kits).

Each pest control kit covers homes up to 5,000 square feet and includes the following:

  • Professional concentrated pesticide
  • Sprayer wand
  • Application bag
  • Gloves
  • 4 glue traps
  • 2 fly traps

Each delivery includes an instruction sheet which explains how to use each part of the box for your pesticide application.

In addition to the spray solution, Bugserv sells professional-grade gel ant bait, effective against ant colonies around your home, though pricing for ant solutions is not disclosed.

Easy Enough for Beginners

It can be daunting to take on your own pesticide application if you’ve never done it before. But Bugserv equips you with all the necessary materials and step-by-step instructions so you can do-it-yourself confidently. If you have additional questions, the company’s customer service team is available to provide extra assistance.

Bugserv’s process looks like this:

  • Fill the bag to the fill line with water.
  • Pour in the pesticide.
  • Put the sprayer bag cap on and gently move the bag around to mix the pesticide with the water.
  • Using the sprayer, apply a liberal amount around the foundation of your house, two feet up and two feet out.
  • Spray around all entry points of the house, including doors, windows, decks, porches, gutters, window wells, cracks, garages, and crawl space entrances.

Interior spraying is not generally needed, but if you do spray inside your home, be sure to adjust the sprayer tip to the fan setting and mist baseboards and cracks. Adjust sprayer tip to fan spray.

Keep children and pets away during application, but once the solution has dried, it is safe for exposure to children and pets.

Location Component

When you set up a subscription, Bugserv will take note of your zip code within your order form to confirm its solution is suited for your home’s location and climate and plan subsequent shipments synced to your climate zone’s hatch cycles. This is unique for a DIY subscription service.

The Bad

  • No Unlimited Re-treatment

No Unlimited Re-treatment

Bugserv will send you a free box if your first one doesn’t yield the results you’re hoping for, but it doesn’t offer unlimited re-service treatments like many other pest control companies. Therefore, there’s not as strong a guarantee that you will be able to eliminate pests.

The Bottom Line

If you’re ready to take your home’s pest control into your own hands, Bugserv is an excellent choice for the beginner DIY-er. This company offers a professional-grade pesticide, detailed instructions, and a customizable component to its subscription service.

But if you want a more hands-off approach so you don’t have to do any mixing, application, or re-treatment yourself, you’re better off sticking with a traditional pest control company.

Is cost your number one consideration? Bugserv would be the way to go due to its low price point. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for salesman commissions and technicians, you can pay a fraction of what most companies charge and do it yourself.
