The Good

  • 3 Customized Plans
  • Customer Protection
  • No Contract Required

3 Customized Plans

The Starter Quarterly Plan is best for homeowners without a yard or only concerned with controlling pests within the home. The starter plan begins with an initial consultation visit to your home, followed by four pest control treatments every three months (four in total in the first year). Four visits will be made each year following. Treatment covers pest control for over 20 pests including fire ants, carpenter ants, black ants, Argentine ants, acrobat ants, black widow spiders, wolf spiders, house spiders, earwigs, centipedes, millipedes, beetles, and silverfish. Rodent services are not offered with this plan.

In addition to services covered in the Starter Quarterly Plan, the Advanced Quarterly Plan includes a yard treatment of 30 feet outside the home. The company’s website also mentions that services in this plan cover an additional 20 pests; however they are not listed. This plan does, however, include rodents, ticks, chiggers, and fleas.

The Ultimate Quarterly Plan offers the main benefit of termite protection, including an extra visit (making six visits in total for the first year and five for each of the following). The treatment includes the use of Sentricon System® with Always Active™, placing bait around the home to prevent and eliminate future termite infestations.

Customer Protection

If unwanted pests enter the sprayed area between scheduled visits, Bug Head Pest Control will retreat your home at no additional charge. This is a common best practice in the pest control community, making Bug Head Pest Control a competitive company in the industry.

No Contract Required

This promise could well be Bug Head Pest Control’s catchphrase as it is advertised clearly on its website and sign-up page. While little information is actually given, it suggests no upfront full-year payments. When choosing a plan on the website, the option to request quarterly billing for yearly plans is available.

The Bad

  • No Yard Services in Starter Plan
  • Difficult to Communicate
  • Limited Locations

No Yard Services in Starter Plan

Many other pest control services include some yard service in the most basic package. Bug Head Pest Control does offer an exterior inspection including eaves and dusting weep holes in its Starter Quarterly Plan; however, full-fledged yard services are only included in the Advanced and Ultimate packages. Even then, there is only treatment 30 feet outside the home, not covering the whole yard or outdoor space, and does not specify if yard services include more than dusting weep holes and eaves.

Difficult to Communicate

Some reviews from Bug Head Pest Control complained of difficulty in reaching the office staff over the phone, making it challenging to reschedule appointments, correct charge issues, or schedule a retreatment. While these issues are normal in the industry, making sure agents are accessible is important.

Limited Locations

Bug Head Pest Control services are currently only located in Texas, specifically the Richardson, Dallas, Plano, and Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The Bottom Line

Bug Head Pest Control is a valuable option for pest and rodent control. For a basic plan, homeowners can receive treatment for the most common pests with no contracts or hidden fees. If looking for yard treatment, however, only more advanced plans offer this service.

As a family-focused organization with a history of two companies with excellent customer service, this is a good option for pest control in Dallas, Texas and surrounding areas.
