Black Diamond Pest Control’s mission is simple: provide the highest quality pest control with the best customer service in the industry.

Black Diamond Pest Control has been around since 1940, and its flagship location is one of the largest pest control offices in the country, with over 135 service vehicles and nearly 200 employees.

The company is a member of the National Pest Management Association and was recently awarded the Best of HomeAdvisor award in 2020.

The Good

  • Monthly Pest Control
  • Total Property Protection
  • Additional Services

Monthly Pest Control

Black Diamond prides itself on handling just about every pest there is. The company offers a monthly general pest control service plan. When you sign up for this service, a Black Diamond technician stops by every month and treats the interior of your home.

Total Property Protection

Black Diamond offers an ongoing service plan covering everything from common household insects to termites, bedbugs, and nuisance animals.

Additional Services

In addition to its pest control services, Black Diamond also helps homeowners with turf maintenance and restoration.

Turf maintenance is an excellent solution for those that struggle with keeping their lawn lush and green. Black Diamond uses golf course herbicides and fertilizers to ensure that your lawn is healthy and weed-free.

Alongside all its pest control services, Black Diamond offers a variety of restoration services, including the following:

  • Mold remediation
  • Crawl space services
  • Sump pump systems
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Air-Duct cleaning
  • Damage repairs

Black Diamond specializes in pest control, but the fact that homeowners can hire and work with the same company for several other house-related services is highly convenient.

The Bad

  • Pest Control Exclusions
  • Plan Specifics
  • Service Area

Pest Control Exclusions

If you work with Black Diamond and choose the general pest control package, be aware that bed bugs, termites, and mosquitos are not included in the plan. Black Diamond states that these pests require more treatments over a longer time and will need to be treated separately.

Of course, this means you’re probably going to have to pay a separate, additional fee if you need these services.

Plan Specifics

When it comes to its services, Black Diamond could stand to include more specific information. While the company offers various services, we’d like to see Black Diamond take the time and provide consumers with more nitty-gritty details.

For example, Black Diamond offers a monthly pest control service. When you visit the webpage, you’ll learn a technician will come out and spray the interior (and possibly the exterior) of your home. We say possibly the exterior because the fine print states, “While PCM is mainly an interior service, the exterior of your home may also be treated.” This is confusing as it leaves consumers wondering if they will or won’t receive the exterior treatment. It is also unclear whether consumers will be charged for the exterior treatment or if it's included in the monthly price.

Additionally, Black Diamond offers a Total Property Protection plan. This plan takes care of common household pests, but also termites, bedbugs, and animals. Black Diamond mentions there are plans and tiers of the service, but there’s no way to view these plans unless you give the company your email address.

Only after you’ve entered your email will you be able to view the property plans. While we appreciate Black Diamond offering homeowners a plan that covers an entire property, it would be convenient if the information was available directly on the website. Most consumers prefer to know exactly what service and features they are getting before signing up (even if it’s something as small as giving the company their email address). The fact that the Total Property Protection plans and tiers are hidden may turn away potential customers.

Service Area

Black Diamond’s exact service area is a bit murky. The company has offices in several states, including Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. That said, it is unclear whether Black Diamond services the entirety of those states or just certain counties or cities.

The Bottom Line

Overall, we recommend homeowners do research into Black Diamond Pest Control. The company’s website shows it has a lot to offer, but some of the information is limited and vague. We feel the company should include more specific information regarding its pest control plans and disclose information upfront. That way, consumers know exactly what they’re getting into once they contact the company. It would also be helpful for Black Diamond to be a bit more specific with its service area. As of now, there is some confusion as to where exactly the company’s service boundaries are.

They were prompt and courteous. Did not have issues. Not competitive with prices.
