My mortgage was sold to Fannie Mae and I have no complaints. We've had no issues since our home loan was transferred to them. When we refinanced because Fannie Mae already owned our home loan we qualified for an appraisal waiver and special loan program that saved us on closing costs.

My loan was purchased by Fannie Mae and was therefore transferred to a new loan servicer. The transfer didn't go smoothly, the monthly payment amount was somehow changed in the process, and it took a lot of time to get it corrected. I don't know how much of that was Fannie Mae directly, but the servicer they use was difficult to work with. I like that they are an old and well know company, but I wish that there were more systems in place to make sure that transfers were accurate.
