eTagz is the first Digital Medical ID tag that is revealed by scanning a QR code. The code is imprinted on the eTagz Medical ID that you can use or wear as a bracelet, necklace, keychain, helmet sticker, fridge magnet, zipper tag, shoe tag, etc. In an emergency when medical personnel or someone needs to know critical information about you, they scan your eTagz medical tag with a phone camera and they will have your medical information within 5 seconds. The medical tag also includes live GPS tracking.
You never have to buy a new Medical ID Tag if your personal information changes, as your eTagz Medical ID comes with an online profile you can update whenever you'd like. The information on your medical tag can be changed as many times as needed. This is more convenient than your typical engraved medical IDs that need to be reordered anytime your personal information changes.
In addition to bracelets and necklaces, the medical IDs also come in the form of small plastic tags that can be made to go anywhere. You can choose a tag with an adhesive backing, which is perfect if you want to place it on a bike, helmet, car window, or any other dry, hard surface.
eTagz also makes tags with a magnetic backing to be placed on a fridge in your home.
If neither of those options sounds right, you can get the tag with a metal ring to easily attach it to a key ring, jacket zipper, backpack, or luggage.
Something to be aware of is any information you put on your medical ID tag will be visible to anyone who scans your QR tag. So it's important that you only put the information you're okay with others seeing.
Once you've purchased and received your eTagz, you'll need to create a profile. To do this, all you need to do is go to eTagz.net's website and register. Once you've registered, the site will have you complete an emergency contact form and fill out your MEDWALL information.
Your MEDWALL is a brief but informative medical newsfeed that provides first responders and medical personnel with your personalized information. Your MEDWALL might include several emergency contacts or just one. You can include information about food allergies, blood type, current medications, your doctor's name, and more.
The best part is that you decide what is included on your MEDWALL. If you prefer not to have your blood type listed, you don't have to. You can also change and update your information as much as you'd like.
Whether you buy a bracelet, necklace, magnet, or sticker, the purchase comes with a 1-year subscription. This means you'll pay for the first year upfront ($48) as well as the tag you choose. The bracelet and necklace will cost you $19.99. Once your first year is paid upfront, you'll pay $4 per month.
While many of us think that Medical ID tags are only for the elderly, there is no age requirement. The founder of eTagz started the company because he felt there wasn't a way to easily access personal information in emergencies. eTagz are for people of all ages.
When browsing eTagz's website, we felt that the pricing information was not clearly communicated with consumers.
When visiting the website, it's not clear that eTagz is a subscription service — unless you visit the product page. You'll then find out that all tags, magnets, bracelets, and necklaces include a 1-year subscription — keep in mind that "included" doesn't mean free; you're paying the $48 upfront. After that first year is over, you'll pay $4 per month.
However, when you visit the company's Facebook page, the About section states, "Anyone can create an ECI (Emergency Contact Information) record on their own secured dedicated profile. For a one-time fee of $19.99, they will receive a lifetime membership to the website and one key chain QR Coded Medical ID tag."
This is extremely frustrating for consumers since the information is contradicting. If we had to assume the correct pricing structure, it's more likely that the subscription plan is the correct one since that's what is on the website. Whatever the case, it would be helpful if eTagz would update all of its social media platforms to include the correct pricing information, simply to ensure there is no confusion when checking out.
There is no refund policy listed anywhere on eTagz's website. Return policies are fundamental to include on a website and the fact that eTagz doesn't have one is worrying.
A general return policy will include the following information:
Since there is no refund policy listed for eTagz, consumers don't have any of this information. That leaves consumers wondering if the company even accepts returns or if they can trust the company to refund their money if they are unsatisfied with the product.
eTagz's motto is simple, "We speak for you when you cannot." The company's products make it easy to access and view medical information in an emergency.
Although we like the motivation and idea behind eTagz, there are a few concerning things we believe consumers should look into before making a purchase.
First, the company has contradicting information regarding its pricing. It would help if the company to clearly display its pricing structure upfront on the website, so people know exactly what they are paying for.
The other thing that's a bit concerning is the lack of a return or refund policy. If eTagz doesn't allow returns, that policy should be stated clearly on the company's website.
