UnaliWear is a medical alert company seeking to help vulnerable populations increase their independence while maintaining dignity. UnaliWear’s main product is the Kanega Watch. The company's founder, Jean Anne Booth, got the idea for the Kanega Watch when trying to get a medical alert system for her aging mother. Her mother would not wear a neck pendant and Jean Anne, as an electrical engineer/entrepreneur, felt she could work with her team of developers and investors to create a best-in-class medical alert alternative. The Kanega Watch is that alternative.

The only medical alert watch with built-in fall detection, designed to be worn everywhere (bed, shower, out shopping, visiting family, etc.), uniquely connects to both WiFi and cellular (for the best coverage) and never needs to be removed to charge – so you can truly be protected 24/7. To get help, simply use your voice or the watch’s alert button or automatically via the watch’s fall detection functionality.

Any of those will immediately connect you to a 24/7 emergency response operator based in the United States with a TMA 5-Diamond and UL certification. The operator will seek to speak to you through your watch. If you are unresponsive, they can contact your emergency contacts as well as dispatch emergency services to your GPS location.

Customers are charged a one-time fee upfront along with monthly charges to cover monitoring and cellular service. The cost of the Kanega Watch is more expensive than others on the market; however, the watch’s unique fall detection, voice activation, continuous wearing and multiple connectivity features rationalize the increased expense for many wearers – particularly those turned off by neck pendants that can be more stigmatizing.

The watch comes in three accent colors: rose gold, black, and champagne gold. The watch is resistant to sweat and water making it easy to wear in the shower or while exercising. The design is both sleek and discreet making it a great companion for everyday activities.

Keep reading the pros and cons of choosing the Unaliwear Kanega Watch.

The Good

  • Fall Detection Machine Learning
  • 3 Ways to Get Help (Including Voice Activation)
  • 30-Day Risk-Free Trial
  • No Need to Remove to Charge
  • Wide Call Coverage

Fall Detection Machine Learning

Over time, the Kanega Watch learns your daily routines and movements to create a more accurate fall detection feature. You can also customize how sensitive you want the watch to be. The watch can detect when you’ve fallen and contact the operator to send emergency services. This automatic fall detection is a patented technology exclusive to the Kangea Watch. The technology is meant to cut back on the false fall alerts that notify medical alarm call centers even when there is no emergency.

Other companies often charge for an additional pendant whose sole purpose is to detect falls. UnaliWear offers the convenience of having these features along with others all include in one device.

3 Ways to Get Help (Including Voice Activation)

Pressing little buttons on a small watch interface can result in a frustrating experience. When you’re in an emergency situation, you need to be able to communicate quickly.  That’s why UnaliWear created a watch that uniquely offers three ways to get help – fall detection, button, and voice. You can also press the watch button to connect with the response center based in the United States. The watch wearers can also set up medication reminders in the online portal.

The watch does not require a landline or cellphone to work. The Kanega Watch has its own Wi-Fi connection and LTE technology. This gives you the freedom to leave the house without a phone while still keeping a communication device on you.

30-Day Risk-Free Trial

All purchases include a 30-day risk-free trial. That means if you are not satisfied with the product within the first 30 days of purchase, you can return the watch for a full refund. Risk-free trials show that the company believes in its product quality and value.

None of the plans include a contract. You can cancel at any time for a pro-rated refund of all the unused months paid upfront; by simply returning the equipment back to UnaliWear in good condition. The initial set-up fee is not refundable after the 30 days have passed.

No Need to Remove to Charge

One of the most convenient features of the Kanega Watch is its long-lasting charge. Each purchase comes with four rechargeable lithium batteries. You never have to worry about remembering to charge the watch at night and put it back on in the morning. Just swap out the batteries daily to stay protected.

Watch batteries are easy to replace and require minimal finger strength. There is also a backup battery in the watch that provides GPS location and enough power to make a 15-minute call or remain on standby for up to 8 additional hours.

Wide Call Coverage

The Kanega Watch stays connected to Verizon’s cellular network at all times. In addition to the cellular connection, the watch also has Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities to keep your connection strong while you’re at home. Not all homes have reliable cellular service so this Wi-Fi connectivity helps ensure fast and consistent service.

The Bad

  • No Wearable Neck Pendant Options
  • Higher than Average Monthly Cost

No Wearable Neck Pendant Options

The majority of providers offer medical alert pendants you can wear around your neck or wrist. UnaliWear only sells a smartwatch, rather than wearable pendants. However, this may not be seen as a disadvantage if you prefer a smartwatch over a wearable pendant.

Expensive Monthly Cost

UnaliWear offers a monthly and an annual payment plan. The annual plan includes an upfront cost of $199 for the watch and an ongoing service fee of $59.95 per month, paid upfront for the year (with a prorated refund for canceling during the year).

The monthly plan is a little more expensive with a one-time fee of $299 and a $69.95 service fee per month.

Other medical alert smartwatches have comparable up-front prices with a range between $49.99 to $199.00. Some medical alert companies offer the equipment for free on lease and only charge you a monthly service cost. Based on our research, UnaliWear has one of the most expensive monthly service charges for its smartwatch. This is something to consider if you are trying to find an affordable medical alert option.

Note: The company offers discounts for individuals buying two Kanega watches in the same location. You can also get a free month of service if you are an AARP member or a family member of active duty military or veteran.

gavel

The Bottom Line

UnaliWear has taken medical alert smartwatches to the next level by including several exclusive features such as voice-activation, smart fall detection, and Wi-Fi compatibility. The long-lasting battery makes it easy to wear the watch day and night. Individuals won’t have to worry about forgetting to put it on every day.

The Kanega Watch is priced above other traditional medical alert products. This watch may not be the right fit for you if you have a tight budget and need a very simple medical alert pendant.

The company does not offer other medical alert devices. However, the Kanega Watch is a versatile product that works in the home or when you are outside. UnaliWear’s watch is a good fit for individuals seeking a simplified device that provides safety and independence; particularly for those looking for a fall detection device that does not require wearing a neck pendant.

I'm a 73 year old who is fortunate to enjoy reasonably good health and mobility, so I initially thought that a personal monitoring device might be something I would need "someday". However, I live alone, and came to the shocking realization that "someday" is NOW when a friend took a fall and wasn't able to get help for several hours in spite of living with family. The Kanega watch has all the features I was looking for: automatic fall detection, waterproof so I can wear it in the shower, a unique charging system that means I never have to take it off, and an attractive design. Equally important, customer service at Unaliwear has been excellent when I needed help with a couple issues that came up. I love the watch and have recommended it to several friends.

Instead of pointing out the obvious of a wearable 24x7 watch I'd like to point out 2 things. My mother has had one fall since having the watch. The watch detected the fall. Fortunately she was not seriously hurt and we didn't have to get help but it brought her, and us greater confidence in the product. Secondly any issue that we had with the watch, including a replacement band, damage to the watch itself, and battery replacement for not taking charge was shipped to us typically in 2-3 days after reaching out. The customer service is wonderful, easy, and no questions asked. My mother would much rather have a leather watch band just for comfort reasons and hope that becomes available soon.

I chose Unaliwear Kanega Watch first of all because I did not want something hanging round my neck. I aery deaf and already wear round my neck a volume control device. The first day I wore it, I took it off when I went to bed and put it down on the bedside table - obviously I laid it down a little hard, but, as I was not wearing my hearing aids, I did not hear the prompt that suggests a fall. The result wa that the emergenc system set in motion a call too my daughter, she arrived sometime later (by that time I was fast asleep). As she wa assured there was no emergency, she took care of cancelling the alarm. Since then, I have had the Fall Detected alarm come on when I have made an abrupt movement, but have no had a fall. It is simple to press the button and assure there is no emergency. I had a problem with setting the batteries early on - I was probably pushing them too hard - and the service call wan answered by a very kind, clear spoken gentleman who arranged for replacements immediately. So, every dealing I have had with the company has been resolved quickly and courteously. In the spae provided for this review I cannot read back and corret any errors, you will have to do that, or show me a printout. Thank you.l for y earing aid

Thank you for your 5-star review, Oonagh. We appreciate the confidence you have in your Kanega Watch and that our Customer Success Team served you with professionalism, empathy and speed - as that is what we strive to do everyday. In addition, please note that, unlike every other medical alert system available, the Kanega Watch learns your specific movements the longer you wear it, thus reducing false fall alerts. All the best and stay well and safe.

Since I hike and bike, I would never consider wearing one of those clunky pendants around my neck instead I have an attractive Kanega watch. There is no cell phone signal here, so the WiFi capability of the Kanega is extremely important I need coverage at home, and during hiking- and bicycling-time. I never have to take the watch off, (for charging or shower), so 24/7, I have help immediately. I can cancel the call, or the operator will call my emergency contacts, and if necessary, call 911. That happened recently when I stumbled badly, didn't hear the Kanega respond because I was in a building with a tin roof during a hard rain. I finally heard the watch, and was able at the last minute to tell the operator to cancel the ambulance. On two other occasions, I have been contacted to inquire if I was OK when I had fallen but didn't actually get hurt. It is such a comfort to know that there is always a quick, and courteous response to my (perceived) falls. I love that the watch has become attuned to me, and responds appropriately. So, Kanega is the perfect choice far better than the alternatives that all have to be removed for charging, have no WiFi, and/or are ugly. Plus Unali's customer service gets 6 out of 5 stars!

I really love my Kanega Watch. I never have to take it off, which is really comforting, and I don't have to look like an old person with an alert device around my neck. Customer service is great and I have contacted the response center through my watch several times and they are always prompt and professional. Company makes a great product and I recommend it to all my friends.

I have a love hate relationship with my watch. I recently had a fall and it did its job. However, there was was no followup from the company to make sure help was recieved. My other issue is the cost of this device. Very pricey and the watch and the charging station are both very bulky. The watch is also very sensitive and goes off when I just brush against my couch.

First of all, we are happy to hear that the watch did its job in your time of need. That is our North Star. Regarding follow up, we reach out to every wearer when an ambulance is dispatched. Did your fall detection lead to an EMS dispatch? Regarding price, you are actually not buying the watch - you buy the service and the watch comes with the service. As you know, you sign no contract and can cancel the service at any time and receive a prorated service refund just by returning the watch and charger to us in good condition. The watch face is about the size of an Apple Watch, but the band is bigger, since that is where the rechargeable batteries go. Our wearers find that design fits their needs, as it ensures they never have to remove their watch to charge (unlike every other medical alert device on the market - as well as the Apple Watch). Regarding sensitivity, our Customer Success Team will reach out to you to adjust the sensitivity on your watch to your liking. All the best and stay well and safe.

For my mom's use it has tended to be too sensitive and she can't hear the responses very well. We have had quite a few false alarms and 2 911 responses because of that. Most of the problem is due to her inability to feel the bumps and hear as her hearing has been failing more rapidly now. Your service response has been great in attempting to make adjustments to suit her need

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are doing our best to match the watch's alert features to her lifestyle. Thank you for working with us. Please contact our Customer Success Team if we can be of any further help in customization/optimization. One thought if you have not already tried this - the watch has one of the most powerful speakers in the industry. You can make volume adjustments only to a certain point on the watch, but we can increase the volume further remotely (it will cause some distortion, but might be a good trade off for your Mom). All the best and stay well and safe.

I have had several problems with the watch itself and am on my fourth replacement watch. Problems included microphone not working; watch draining battery power too quickly; chipped battery compartment and broken hinge. However, I do have peace of mind knowing that I can reach a live person at the monitoring service 24/7 if I am in trouble. Customer service has been excellent in providing quick responses to each problem I have had with the watch.

I love the Kanega watch and the extent to which it is designed and engineered for older people including those with arthritis or other dexterity issues. The only problems i have had with it are the difficulty in getting a stretchy band small enough to fit my wrist snugly while allowing it to slip over my enlarged knuckles (small magnetic mesh band is still too large); and secondly, the batteries fall out and get lost rather frequently. However, Unaliwear has always been quick to replace the batteries at no charge, and to work with me in trying to get an ok fit on the band.

My mom has been wearing the Kanega watch since Sept 2021. The watch has broken twice. The company has replaced the watch free of charge thus far which I am grateful but it seems like it broke without being abused. In the last few months, the watch is detecting falls when Mom is sitting at rest. I have watched Mom when a fall was detected and she barely moved. Another time, when we were driving it detected a fall when we went over a medium sized bump in the road. Mom gets agitated when it goes off for no apparent reason and feels like she needs to get help. One day the display on the watch was flashing the ear and vibrating or buzzing. We couldn't get it to stop by pressing the crown button so I took out both batteries until it stopped. That was really agitating her. Sometimes the volume is so low that even I can't hear it. I asked customer service what I could do to make the volume louder and they just referred me to the instructions. I never did find anything on volume but the next day it was a little louder. The representatives have been very helpful and courteous. I would rate them as excellent. When I have called to report problems with the watch, I really haven't had my questions answered. Replacement of the watch has been prompt and without hassle.

The technology is very good but not great. While I like the mobility for being able to use these devices in the home as well as when you are out and about away from home, they are still not intelligent enough to separate regular spoken words, say while talking on the phone, from a real and demonstrated need for emergency services. These interruptions are annoying. Additionally, because the devices are made with sub-par cheap plastic, the battery clips break very often and need to be exchanged out. I really like the product idea, but its ugly, bulky and cheap materials make it something that I don't want to wear. I think they need to go back to the design team and come up with something that is intelligent and looks great with quality materials.

Hi Phyllis, we do have a very small percentage of our wearers who break the battery carriers over time. Mostly this is due to improperly changing of the batteries. Contacts are very responsive, but the ultra-sensitivity of radiio contact has created some unnecessary alarms that have brought help when none was needed. This mornng, for example, the watch picked up a radio commentator's voice and reported it as an alarm, while we were still in bed. Responders came and woke us up. I suppose this can be considered "a learning experience."

UnaliWear Logo

Reply from UnaliWear

We are sorry you are experiencing this, Shirley. Note that the Voice Activation feature is listening to activate the watch if it believe it hears the wake word and Get Help - so lots of ambient noise (like a loud TV or radio over extended time) can sometimes trigger it. Note that you can contact our Customer Success Team to reduce the sensitivity of your watch's Voice Activation. We can even turn it off remotely, with your permission, if that is something you would prefer. The most important aspect of the Kanega Watch is that you wear it, so if you are finding these alerts annoying, know you have options to make it better for you and your lifestyle. All the best and stay well and safe.

November 3, 2022 Kanega I am a 92 year old, fairly active and cognizant woman, who has been using the UnaliWear Kanega Watch for 6 months. And I have a few comments. I find the watch very bulky to wear & it leaves bruises on my arm I took a trip in July and decided I could not take it with me as the charger was too bulky & I don't know why it needs 3 charging ports.for 2 batteries When I got home I couldn't get the watch to work properly so sent notice to company for help. You sent me a new watch. During this time the new watch has fallen off my wrist twice. And I have lost 2 batteries so now I am working with only 2 batteries Other reactions: As much as I like gadgets and would love an Apple type watch. This would not be the watch for ordinary elderly people with low hand/finger dexterity to change the batteries every day. Asking Fred Astaire for the time is not always appropriate. It detects too many falls that are not falls & it may be just sitting down that triggers it. I think you have a great idea in the watch which will detect falls, etc. if you can improve the latching mechanism; have batteries that last longer; a less bulky charger (when you are away from home we need the extra protection). Thank you for the opportunity to test this watch.

Thank you for trying the Kanega Watch for free as part of our partnership with your local support organization. We are sorry your experience was not more positive, but it was also quite unusual:
1. The watch is not heavy to wear (our oldest wearer is 103 and she wears it religiously 24/7) but the "bulk" as you indicate, comes from the watch band - where the rechargeable batteries are stored. Respectfully, it is not a flaw, but a feature. Our patented battery system ensures our wearers never have to remove their Kanega Watch to charge - particularly at night when they are most vulnerable. It is true peace of mind for our wearers and those that love them (many loved ones say we are giving them back the gift of a full night's sleep - as they no longer have to worry about what might happen to the wearer at night).
2. We don't know why your watch is falling off your wrist, except that you might not be securing the clasp. Again, this a very unusual experience for our wearers.
3. Losing batteries is also highly unusual. The batteries easily snap into the watch band and, again, very few wearers have to get additional batteries because they are lost.
4. Regarding ease of changing batteries, our 103 year old wearer is a good example. She has been changing her batteries regularly for over three years and has never had an issue (when her batteries start to lose their rechargeability, we send her new batteries as part of her service).
5. Our voice activation is a huge benefit to all our wearers. Fred Astaire is the watch's wake word. You can certainly ask your watch for the time, but you can also just turn the watch to your face and it will automatically light up for you. Since the watch uses clear/large black on white lettering, we hope it was easy for you to read the dial info.
6. The sensitivity of the fall detection can be adjusted to meet your needs. In addition, the watch gets smarter about your specific movements the longer you wear your watch.
We wish you all the best in finding an alternative that best meets your needs. We believe you will not find a better alternative on the market. We'd love you to return as a wearer, if you discover that is actually the case. Either way, all the best and stay well and safe.

The batteries fell off of our first watch. The watch and band were replaced. The metal adjustable part of the new watch band is of lesser quality the the first band. I guess 'flimsy' is the word I would use. It works but it is not as formidable as the first watch.

I love the concept, but there have been problems with the watch itself. Battery prong broke and the casing for the attachment of the batteries to the watch began to chip away until the one side no longer made power contact. The staff was wonderful and responded to my needs immediately in a very pleasant manner, but, I now have concerns regarding reliability of the physical endurance of the watch itself.

Reply from UnaliWear

We are glad you like the concept. We have wearers who have had the same watch for over 3 years, so durability is not an issue. The main reason the batteries break is that wearers try to force the batteries into or out of the battery cases on the band. There is a very helpful instruction visual that comes with the watch and our Customer Success Team can also walk you through the best practice for changing the batteries, which should prevent this issue from happening further, if that would be helpful. All the best and stay well and safe.

I have had multiple issues with my watch, cracked battery cases, batteries that failed to hold a charge for 24 hours, false fall detections after adjustments were made for that reason, and another issue with the webbing part of the band. The plastic material that makes up the casing of the watch is brittle and cracked lbs easily. It has detected a fall while I was sitting and the watch was motionless and a k so when I was changing batteries. It is too sensitive for anyone who is physically active, even after adjustment. The concept is great, but mire work needs to be done in the sensitivity of the watch and the quality of the materials that make up the watch. In fairness to the company, the service for repairs and time taken to make repairs has been extremely good!

We are sorry for your experiences, as they are not reflective of the vast majority of Kanega Watch wearers. We are glad our customer success team has been responsive. In addition, note that the watch has two forms of automatic alerts - Fall and Voice. It's likely that the watch's voice activation went off while you were sitting motionless, not the fall detection. That said, if you contact our customer success team with the date and time of that activity, we can look at the watch logs to see what happened. We have many wearers who wear their watch while exercising and doing other physical activities and have no issues with false fall alerts. You note that the fall detection sensitivity can be adjusted, which is true. So can the voice activation sensitivity. If you would like either/both to be adjusted lower, we can do that for you. Just contact us for support. All the best and stay well and safe.

They are extremely helpful and patient on the telephone for questions. Reading the numbers on the batteries is very hard to see. I keep track of batteries just put in watch and those in charger. Then I know which ones work best.

My watch frequently sends an alert when it shouldn't. I do prefer it to those worn around the neck. One of the contacts, James, often answeres before listening to the complete question, answers before he knows what I asked and makes noises when he is on the phone, so I am not sure what he is doing.

Thank you for your review. Regarding the alerts, please note that the Voice and Fall Activation sensitivity can be customized to your preferences, which would reduce the number of alerts you are getting. Please contact our Customer Success Team if you would like to discuss those options further.

Excellent operator support but watch goes off far too often, when there is a phone call, when there is a loud voice, when the tv is high. Sensitivity is supposed to be adjusted after the first few weeks but still having many "false alarms." Customer support for batteries and trouble shooting is excellent.

Very responsive service very helpful with any issues with the watch. It is a little oversensitive for my case but they're able to modify that from their end. Still in all I would rather have a oversensitive rather than an under sensitive watch and it gives me a great piece of mind when I leave the house. Knowing that if for some reason i'm not reachable and some reason she does get hurt there will be e m t's. In fact once I left and was not accessible and for some reason she could not hear the watch or the phone call and since I didn't answer my phone. The e m t ended up at my apartment within like fifteen minutes while I was not available which also gave me great peace of mind.

At 83, I was dismayed to find that quite suddenly it seemed, within just a few months, I was having difficulty with my balance. At first I dismissed it as just an occasional problem. But then, for no reason I could discern, I fell. And two more falls within the following two weeks. Fortunately, I was not seriously hurt but it was a wake up call. At my doctor's suggestion, I shopped for an effective fall detection device. I could only find heavy, cumbersome pendants. I tried two, and hated them. I finally found Kamega, little known but the only watch designed for the purpose with a truly responsive medical center behind them. It's a treasure -- easy to wear, easy snap in batteries, safety even in the shower. Quick response team -- medical, general and tech. Friendly, patient and knowledgeable personnel. This product is a bit pricey, but worth every dime. Oh, and if you should lose your house keys and need help, they're there for that too.

I have had a Kanega watch since January of 2023. I love it! I am actually on my 3rd watch. My first watch stopped working and my second watch had a problem with the crown button. Both times that I called, I was sent a new watch within days. Sending the previous watches back to UnaliWear involved packing the previous watch into the box provided and taking it to a FEDEX drop-off location---easy and fast. I am a 61-year-old that recently retired. I am physically active in Martial Arts and wanted the watch for its ability to detect falls. I am sure that I am not a typical Kanega watch wearer due to my age and active lifestyle. I have shared the Kanega watch information with medical providers in my community, as I am very happy with my choice for a medical alert system.

I had early problems with my first watch. It did not show any settings other than the date, and I could never tell how much charge it had. It was replaced with one that ran perfectly, but had a plastic body that broke. When I called, I was told the material for the body had been changed to prevent the cracking and breaking. That watch was replaced and I have had no problems with the 3rd watch. The only other issue I've had is that it occasionally announces I've fallen, even when I'm sitting still. I've been able to push the stem to override that so far. Lori has been very helpful with all these issues.

Thank you for your review. Yes, we were having issues with a very small percentage of our wearers repeatedly breaking the battery carriers. As you noted, we replaced your watches for free, as part of our service; and we have found a new plastic blend that has solved this issue for wearers that were experiencing these breakages. We hope you have a wonderful experience with your Kanega Watch going forward. Also, as a reminder, we can reduce the sensitivity of your fall detection remotely if you request that from our Customer Success Team - Lori or anyone of our other awesome team members. All the best and stay well and safe.

There comes a time in one's life when vulnerability rears its head. In my case it was when I tripped, at night, on the way to the mailbox. Silly me, what was I thinking. I'd noticed some of my lady friends, in out Grief Group, were wearing pendants not because they had fallen but because they lived alone and might fall. So, I tried one. It was not for me. I kept forgetting to put it around my neck and my cellular signal throughout the house was sketchy. I expanded my research to include watches and found that Unali's Kanega Watch is the ONLY one that offers fall detection. It uses both Wi-Fi and cellular for complete coverage. Wearing a watch is second nature, you put it on, forget about it, change the batteries once a day. Simplicity.

There are many things that I like about UnaliWear. The pre-purchase customer service was excellent. All of my questions were answered. Most important to me is the fact that the watch is able to connect to my home WIFI system. I live in a little "valley" and do not have cell service inside my home. This is the ONLY device that has this capability. Without it, I would have no protection inside my home. The watch was shipped very quickly and the customer service has been excellent since that time. I needed to have the level of the microphone adjusted and also needed a replacement battery that was sent quickly. I cannot say enough good things about this company!!

Luckily, I remembered to put my neckless pendant on after charging it overnight on a remote charger. I fell and collapsed a lung. I woke p three days later in the ICU in the hospital. After that incident, I wanted something more pernenent than a neckless that I take off to charge. I found Kenaga. What a joy! I never take it off and only switch batteries once a day. It has automatic fall detection, verbally tells you the time and day, and reminds you to take your meds. Also, the company is fantastic. They will bend over backward to help you. I am very pleased with both the watch and service

I have had one of the Unaliwear watches for about a year. i have been pleased with their response to my questions and requests. zi needed a set of batteries and they appeared in a couple of days, I had damaged my watch and they replaced it quickly and at no charge. Their monitoring service is very effective. I was on my garden tractor mowing the lawn and the tractor bouncing caused the watch to detect a fall. The noise of the tractor engine drowned out the alarm on the watch. My wife came outside to let me know that the dispatch center had gotten an alert from the watch and wanted to be sure that I was ok. It worked as described in their literature. I have been pleased with the device and the support. Paul Emch

We subscribed for my father-in-law, who lives with us. After having the watch for just a few months, he fell in the bathroom and knocked his head on the floor. He was dazed and confused and the watch did its thing. It called my wife and me (the contacts listed in case of emergency) but we were both at an event with our phones off. The system then called the emergency system and a fire truck and ambulance showed up. They appropriately took him to the ER all before we even knew he fell. The watch worked exactly as it was designed exactly when needed. Service from Unali on many fronts before and during the incident has been extraordinary. We are very grateful for this excellent product.

Find the watch very sensitive and goes off just by holding a phone to my ear. This has happened a lot. Also the batteries do not last for a full day and I find the battery on the far side of the watch is difficult to change.

We are really sorry for your experience. We don't understand how an alert could be sent to the monitoring center without the watch speaking to you and providing other warnings, as designed. In addition, the monitoring center would have sought to speak to you through your watch ("UnaliWear Emergency Response, how can we help you?") and, upon not being able to speak to you, trying your primary phone number prior to reaching out to your emergency contacts. Our Customer Success Team will reach out to you today to determine any specific issues with your watch. We can also lower the sensitivity further, at your request.

It is annoying as it reports a fall several times an hour. It's embarrassing and I don't want to wear it as I find it very inconvenient. I'd like to know why it has reported to me "calling operator to report fall"so,many times and most of the time I am sitting perhaps having a conversation or eating a meal at a restaurant. Id like to find an alternative

We are very sorry for your experience. Please note a few key points:
1. Our Customer Success Team can lower the sensitivity of your fall detection. That will quickly reduce and likely eliminate the false fall alerts you are getting.
2. You may be confusing an alert from a fall with an alert from voice activation - where the watch thinks you asked for help. This would match where you are finding these alerts happening. For example, in a restaurant, with lots of ambient noise, it is possible the watch thought you asked for help. Again, our Customer Success Team can lower the sensitivity of your voice activation, as well.
We will have our Customer Success Team reach out in hopes of connecting with you and making these adjustments. All the best and stay well and safe.
