The equipment used with the medical monitoring system is based upon the latest technologies and offers the customers quality protection in and around their home with the home unit. The base unit and transmitter have at least a 1000 foot range. Personal Response includes fall detection as well as monitoring should the help button be pressed.

The transmitter unit is small and waterproof and may be worn as a pendant or on a wristband, like a watch.

All of Personal Response’s plans work even if there is no landline in the residence and they offer an affordable mobile monitoring system with GPS for medical monitoring away from home. One can select the mobile system and use it both in and out of the home, so there is no need to double up.

Personal Response does not charge an activation fee and all shipping is free for the customers, with a warranty against equipment defects and failure. Personal Response also offers either month-to-month billing or discounts for longer billing terms, which is paid up-front. There is no minimum contract length and customers may cancel at any time and receive a pro-rated refund after the equipment is returned to the company.

The Bad

Similar to many of their competitors, Personal Response offers month-to-month billing terms. However, unlike the competition, they charge a $100 deposit for all customers signing up for month-to-month service. For those on a limited budget or wanting to save money by avoiding the pre-payment of services for several months in advance, this added expense can be quite significant.

The Bottom Line

Personal Response has maintained quality customer service and provided their customers with monitoring and equipment which gives both the customers and their families’ peace of mind. Price

The price plans for Personal Response’s services varies on the terms of the plan as well as which equipment is selected (currently plans are available starting at $21.95/month to $34.95/month). Each plan offers monthly, quarterly and annual payment plans. Discounts are given for longer payment plans and pricing is guaranteed to not increase for the life of the customer’s relationship with Personal Response. For monthly plans, there is a $100 deposit required.

Warranty

If at any time equipment fails, one can return it for a no-cost replacement. Additionally, should one choose to discontinue their service at any point, the unused paid months are refunded.

Activation Fee

There is no activation charge for the Landline Medical Alert System, Landline LifeSentry Medical Alert System or Cellular Medial Alert System. For the GPS Medical Alert System or the Mobile Medical Alert System there is a one-time, non-refundable $50 activation fee.

Mobile Alerts

With the busy and mobile lifestyle of today’s seniors, many are opting for either the GPS Medical Alert System or the Mobile Medical Alert System. Both offer safety and peace of mind out of the home. Additionally, some families of those affected by Autism are opting for the GPS Medical Alert System to help them to keep track of their loved ones should they leave the safety of their home.

All of Personal Response’s in-home equipment covers a range of at least 1000 feet from the base unit.

Contract

Personal Response does not require a contract for their services. They do, however payment plans that are monthly, quarterly and annually renewed. Various discounts are available depending on the length of the payment plan selected.
