Moni Smart Security systems not only monitor you for medical alerts, but also monitor water, heat, smoke, freeze, carbon monoxide, and burglar alarm monitoring. The vast majority of medical alert companies don't do this.

Truthfully, Moni Smart Security is primarily a home security company, so you have to purchase a home security system in order to qualify for the medical alert service. This means you won't only be getting a medical alert button, but you'll be investing in a control panel, door sensors, window sensors, motion detectors, the works. If you want a home security system, that's great, but it also presents a myriad of caveats listed below.

Activation Fee

There is a one-time activation fee of $149 when you purchase a Moni Smart Security system. Some top-rated home security companies won't require an installation fee at all, and certainly not medical alert companies.

Long-Term Contract

A contract with Moni Smart Security lasts a minimum of 36 months. It's rare for a medical alert company to issue any kind of long-term contract at all, but absolutely standard of a home alarm company. Most top-rated medical alert companies deal with month-to-month payments so you can feel like you can cancel anytime. With a long-term contract, you'll likely have to buy out of the monitoring service if you decide to cancel early.

Lack of Equipment Details

Moni Smart Security offers little details on the medical alert aspect of its systems, other than you can wear it as a pendant or bracelet. There isn't any information regarding its range, battery life, or mobile systems.
