Previously known as Florida Health Alert and Technology, Florida Telehealth has since rebranded. Florida Telehealth is a mobile medical alert system that is waterproof and GPS-enabled. The company is based out of The Villages, Florida, and has been in business since 2001. The completely mobile medical alert system is ideal for seniors who live an active lifestyle and for seniors who have served in the military.

Florida Telehealth's Family Response packages (unmonitored) give customers the option to send alerts to only family members. Many families choose this option to avoid the unnecessary over-response of EMS and Fire associated with the traditional monitored options.

The company also offers synced Chit Chat Packs that give couples the ability to communicate directly with each other through their two individual Florida Telehealth devices.

Unlimited Range

Most medical alert systems will operate based off a range that the pendant can communicate with the base unit. With Florida Telehealth, the base unit and pendant are essentially the same device. As my mom's mobility began to be questioned, my wife and I reached out to evaluate some of the "medic alert" companies. When we called Rescue Touch, we shared our circumstances with the operator and were transferred to the owner of the company Scott Lepper. Scott walked us through the features of the device and evaluated our needs. I was totally unaware that the technology existed to have my mom's device call me OR call 911. A great feature by the way. My mom can call using this device and I can call her as well. This way, I can make the determination as to her condition before 911 is called and emergency services are rendered. My mom is even thankful for this feature in that she sometimes "can't find her phone". Thank you Rescue Touch and Scott Lepper for alleviating my mom's concerns, as well as our own.

They keep us informed of any changes in the company that will affect the users. And I love that there are multiple levels of service. We choose this company because their service offers GPS location of the monitor. That way if there is an issue with my father outside the home we know where he is at. Another amazing feature is that one level of service will call or text us if my dad hits the button. And can actually pick the people it notifies.

This device functions the way we want it to. We wanted a device that allows our mother to leave the house and still have access to us if she would fall. If she activates it, this necklace device will call up to 5 of us sequentially and she can talk directly to us to let us know what she needs. We have not needed it thankfully, but we have tested it and it works as advertised. It also has a GPS location feature.Our mother doesn't go a lot of places, but it gives her the peace of mind and freedom to do so.

Rescue touch one of the inventor Scott answered all my questions two times before I bought the device for my brother very informative and through the process after purchasing we had some questions after the fact it has A fall feature so when a patient falls the device instantly calls family members to help first a few times my brother fell slowly which the device didn't detect but then he could press the button when he was on the floor so he did get help .He use the device for four or five months.

It was a product that was easy to use by my father. It did not require a landline or cell phone to operate.It worked the way is was presented. The fall detention was accurate. We had confidence in the product. I discontinued the service when my father was admitted to an assistant living facility after surgury. He has gone home now but with VA benefits he does receive a call device for free. The VA product is dependent on a phone line. There have been two times in a month and a half where my dad did not have service. I am reconsidering going back to the rescue touch product.

Rescue Touch offers a top notch AND unique product and their service backing it up is equally impressive. After much research, the feature that stood out to me was the ability for me (and others) to call my blind mom through the pendant! And, she can call me directly at the touch of a button. This feature eliminated her reluctance and has been a boon when I’m running late or she wants a quick word. What I didn’t know, when doing my research, was that Scott and his entire staff are absolutely dedicated, competent and caring. Service is instantaneous, and, when every second can count, this is crucial. In addition, when the SOS button is activated, my brothers and I get instant alerts and can call mom on the pendant! If the company can’t reach mom on the pendant, they call her landline, then my cell. We had one incident when they couldn’t talk to anyone to confirm that mom was ok - EMTS were there in 9 minutes. Would love to see a watch version, as mom has a lipoma on her neck . We replaced the lanyard with one made from cotton yarn. We have had this system for over a year now and recommend it highly.

Nothing but good things to say about Rescue Touch and our experience with their service over the past year. I found the company through online research and they had he technology I wanted for my elderly Mother who needs "backup" if I am away for a few hours. She has used the button once to get assistance for a fall, and it worked perfectly to reach the local 911 center. On the tech side, I liked Rescue Touch over the other available options because it is cellular based and directly contacts 911. The pendant itself is small and acceptable to my Mother who was very picky with what she would wear. While she has not tried this in the shower, it seems to be properly built to handle normal splashes of water. The other big plus is that this is a small self-contained unit that does not use a "base station" like so many others systems do. What's the point of having the call button around your neck if you have to be within talking/hearing distance of a base station in another room? The cost of the service is also very reasonable as compared to other options, and being cellular can be taken wherever the wearer goes. Highly recommended, and I am very glad I chose Rescue Touch.

My father is 94 years old and enjoys walking my dog around our adjacent rural properties - a combined 10 acres. I needed a device he could use to alert us if he was in trouble. It had to be very simple to use. I was concerned about wasting EMT resources so I wanted it to contact family. The Rescue Touch meets these requirements. Once you figure out how it works, it is very easy to reprogram. I like that it texts everyone initially and then starts calling. It's good that the phone auto answers, so my Dad can just respond to my questions. The Rescue Touch is now programmed so my mom can call it if my Dad is gone too long. Scott has been very helpful - from explaining the phone, to solving initial problems, to making suggestions to help get my Dad to use the phone. The Rescue Touch is a very good device and I recommend it highly. The fact that the service can be month to month is important because my Dad is starting to have trouble remembering to carry the phone.

I highly recommend this product and company! Their product is exactly as advertised. Customer service is excellent - help is available whenever needed, the representative is always friendly and efficient. We received a call letting us know that a newer product had come out, and they wanted to replace the one we had with the newer one. It was handled free of charge, all programming done in advance, and on receipt the new one was ready to use. The pendant arrived in 2 business days. Billing is flawless, and the product is very easy for my 90 year old mother to use. We are very happy customers!

Thank God I have not had occasion to use my Rescue Touch unit for an emergency. However, I have tested the unit on several occasions and the Rescue Touch monitoring team have responded immediately and thoroughly. I particularly like that the unit also alerts friends or family that I designate. Most particularly I like the size and weight of the Rescue Touch unit. It is smaller and lighter than other units on the market. It fits easily and comfortably in my pocket or clips on to my belt loop or may be carried on the lanyard supplied with the unit. When I first got the unit I had a service matter that was immediately handled without question and a new unit was sent immediately. I highly recommend the unit and the company.

Rescue Touch was there when my husband fell and broke his hip. I was 2 hours away at work. When I got the text alert, I called and Rescue Touch was already talking to him through the device. It was such a relief to know that someone was taking care of him. When considering options for a fall detection service, we looked at dozens of options, but Rescue Touch stood out to my husband because of two factors (1) its a company created by people who understand emergency situations and how to evaluate and assist (2) the device itself is small and attractive and did not embarrass my husband as one of the other options would have. We were impressed by the thoroughness of the information they wanted on file, the instructions and advice given, and the owner himself followed up with us.

After several falls and a medical emergency not too long ago, I knew it was time to get my father, who lives alone, some type of medical alert system. I spent a month researching the various companies out there. Most were either too expensive, required a landline, or only worked within his home. He needed a device that worked anywhere he went, but also something that was affordable and reliable. When I finally found and researched Rescue Touch, I knew it was a no-brainer. I believe I spoke personally to Scott on the phone, and he was very helpful in getting our order placed. We saved money by paying for a year of service up front, and the unit itself was only $99. The best part of Rescue Touch is that the unit works wherever my father goes. It was shipped quickly to us, and my father was surprised at how small the pendant was. He is able to wear it comfortably under his shirt or jacket. Activation was fast, instructions were easy to understand and follow. We even tried it out to make sure it worked and we were able to hear the 911 operator loud and clear. My father now feels safer at home and on his daily walks at the park, and I feel better knowing that help is at his fingertips!

I bought this in September for my sister. She wasn’t so sure at first but she has used it twice. The second time she was having a coronary event. She had been originally suffering from a stroke. The first time was a fall. Although she didn’t have it on her, she lassoed it and the neighbors came as was her preference. I like that feature as there are options. I would say it saved her life! Scott is our contact. He delivered the device within a week. He is very available for clarification and service. I prepaid for six months so haven’t gone into the next billing cycle. The device works as advertised.

I purchased service for my father. We were concerned because he is living alone at home. If he had an emergency and couldn't make it to the phone, he could have a device within reach to contact help. What we like about Rescue Touch is that when the button is pressed, we are called. If the push of a button contacted emergency services, we feel he wouldn't wear the device. My father has already used the device when he was locked out of the house. We were called and were able to help him out. If there is a need, he only needs to push the button. The device would call us and we could call EMS if needed or just check on him. Not every emergency requires EMS, so this is the right system for us. A funny story about the device--my father wears the device on his belt loop. One night he forgot to remove it from the belt loop when getting dressed for bed and let his pants drop to the floor. The device detected a fall and my sister was called. She immediately called the house and was relieved to find out that he was fine. We now know that the fall detect feature works! Customer services has been great as well. When our device wasn't charging properly, Scott sent a new one to us immediately (with a postage paid envelope to return the other one). Finally, my dad is very proud of his service to our country during the Korean War era. The fact that veterans are recognized through a discount makes the program appealing to us as well.

We had a unique situation when I talked with Scott about a medical alert for my grandmother. We needed it to work with a cell signal, which was very uncommon at the time. No other company that I talked with was willing or able to integrate their system to work with my grandmother's phone. Scott worked for several days to accommodate us. Thank goodness he did because my grandmother relied on them on several occasions. She was able to live independently until 104 years of age. Rescue Touch was reliable and delivered everything we expected. The personal assistance we received was far above anything we could have gotten from a larger company. I highly recommend them.

I researched A LOT of medical alert companies and learned that RescueTouch has a really unique feature that sets it apart from the rest. You can set it up so it will contact family or friends rather than instantly calling 911. This was very important to my Mom, who is extremely private and didn't want ambulances, fire trucks, and paramedics coming if she fell and just needed a little help . The owner of the company is also super nice and knowledgeable, and you can tell when you speak to him that he truly cares about his clients. RescueTouch definitely deserves 5 STARS.

We bought this for my 91 year old mother, who lives alone. The most important feature for us is that it will call preprogrammed numbers to family prior to calling 911, which in our case assured that she will actually use the device. Our past experience has been that she didn’t want to risk “bothering” strangers in the event of an emergency, so refused to use anything like this! To date we have received one call, after she forgot that the device was in her pocket and threw her slacks on the floor. It worked perfectly! Great pricing and service. Love it!

I wanted to get my grandfather something that would give us peace of mind that he could get the help he needed quickly if something went wrong. I chose a RescueTouch Help Alert for my dad because he occassionally needs routine personal assistance (like help getting out of a chair). RescueTouch was the only device I could find where he can call me and my brothers directly and not an emergency paramedic dispatch center. The text message notification feature is great because it alerts all of us when he presses his button. We can even call him (and GPS locate) if needed. Great service for only $19/mo with no contract. I have recommended RescueTouch to several friends and am very happy.

My mother needed something that would alert family members if she needed help. She did NOT want 911 called. All the other medical alert programs we looked at involved calling 911. Our fall detection is unlike others in the industry. To my knowledge, ours is the only one with adjustable sensitivity. Let's take a shot at making yours more sensitive to pickup less significant falls. You're right about AT&T, like a cell phone there's spots of weaker cellular signal. Was delivered quickly and has very good coverage. Luckily have not needed it for an emergency but I know I can reach my mom anytime as I have used it to contact her when she wouldn't answer her phone. I like the advance notifications on the billing too.

Living alone, having Rescue Touch as my in home helper in case of an emergency, puts my family at ease. My three contacts have already called because of a button which I pushed by mistake. I do feel secure knowing help will be on the the way if I should fall.

This is a great product! I wanted something for my mom that would allow me to call 911 and not the product. This does that as well as having a talk feature. When you call, you talk to the owner, a real live American that speaks American (lol). Its easy to program, inexpensive and my mom actually wears it!

The only downside is we did not expect to need to purchase a signal booster to operate properly inside the home. The system works off 3G and was not strong enough in a rural home with a metal roof without a signal booster. The customer service was great and the product works as advertised. We love the fact that it has the ability for us to call local family members instead of a call center.

When we were looking for a product we review several products and settled on Rescue Touch because if the options and price. Since we bought it the customer service is what will keep us with this company. They are personable and respond quickly to issues. I recommend Rescue Touch to anyone looking for a medical system like this.

I like this device because it allows me to choose what services I want or need. My mother currently doesn't require monitoring service so I didnt include that. The device still allows me to speak with my mother in the event that she is injured, at a later time when her needs require more attention I can upgrade to monitoring services

This device allows us to keep tabs on dad from a distance as I and my brother work out of state and the panic button that dad can use anywhere is a good feeling. Dad is almost 98 and still independent and living on his own and active. He works a job and goes bowling and golfs and it is nice to be able to track him wherever he is at.
