If you're choosing between Nationwide and National Life Group, you're choosing between two good insurers. Both have demonstrated financial stability by standing the test of time and earning high financial strength ratings. Financial stability is one of the most important parts of choosing an insurer because you don't want your beneficiaries to have difficulty receiving a payout.
The biggest differences between the two insurers are their policy offerings, information provided on available riders, and the ability to get an online quote.

Their agents are unreliable! All this company cares about is making money and not about your actual retention or customer service. They don't even care if you supply all the documents that you need for your discounts to stay on, they don't upload them and then next thing you know they're removed!!! Nationwide is a joke of an insurance company! Save your time and frustration and go with someone else, you'll be glad you did!

I have been a client for 8 years now and I have an IUL that’s performing incredibly amazing. I’m very satisfied because I never had the stomach to market fluctuations and risk. This product will guarantee my retirement and it is Tax Free! After my family and I watched the documentary The Power of Zero, this strategy started to make sense for all of us. And NLG is a leading company on this product. Overall we are super happy. Thank you National Life Group.

Nationwide offers term, universal, and whole life insurance. Its universal policy options include indexed, variable, and guaranteed policies. These policies have different investment options for growing the policy's cash value. You can also purchase a survivorship universal policy that insures two people. The death benefit is typically paid out after both of the insured individuals pass away.
Nationwide's whole life insurance policies have two payment options: you can pay for the entire policy in 20 years or make level premium payments until you turn 100. This flexibility allows you to find a payment option that best fits your budget and financial obligations.
Nationwide also offers good rider options that people can add to their policy for more protection or coverage. Not all riders are available with every kind of policy. Nationwide's riders include an accidental death benefit, a disability premium waiver, and an accelerated death benefit. The ability to customize your policy with riders to get the kind of coverage and protection you need is a benefit of working with Nationwide.
Another benefit of working with Nationwide is that you can get quotes for each type of policy online. This convenience is nice for people starting to research and price out policies.
National Life Group also has a good selection of life insurance policies. It offers whole, universal, indexed universal, variable universal, and term life insurance. Whether you are looking for a permanent or term life insurance policy, you can find a good option from National Life Group. If you are interested in a survivorship policy, you'll want to work with a different insurer like Nationwide.
National Life Group also offers an accelerated death benefit rider. This allows you to receive part of the death benefit early under certain circumstances outlined in your policy, including terminal illness, chronic illness, and critical injury. This rider is nice because it makes your life insurance policy a resource to help pay unexpected medical expenses. Information on additional rider options is difficult to find on National Life Group's website.
As you consider working with National Life Group, keep in mind that it is part of a class action lawsuit for alleged involvement in a pyramid scheme with Premier Financial Group. While National Life Group's policies were being sold by Premier Financial Group, you should learn more about the case and be mindful of sales tactics when working with representatives.
Both insurers are financially stable and have a good selection of life insurance policies. Nationwide stands out for offering online quotes, good information online regarding policies and rider options, and for offering survivorship policies. National Life Group also has good permanent and term life insurance options and has more industry experience.
We're on a mission to empower consumers to make the best decisions and connect confidently with companies that deserve their business.
