The entire experience has been great but when it came to receiving my retainers, there have been tremendous delays and even a mistake in sending the wrong ones. They have been nice enough and try to correct the errors though.

I noticed a huge difference in my teeth! I was able to avoid braces and the retainers are keeping my teeth aligned. However, some sets were cutting my gums and were quite painful to put in. I filed them down but would sometimes still experience pain and cuts. The plastic is very hard to file down.

After speaking with Josh he transferred me to speak with a licensed Orthodontist to address some of my concerns and after speaking with her, I felt even more Positive about choosing Smile Direct Club! The impression kit was fun & simple! Be sure to actually take your time & read over the instructions pamphlet especially if your struggle with comprehension like me lol I read it like 3 times! Just to make sure I didn’t mess up! After I completed it. I sent it back in the given package & received a text and email in no time! I just viewed my 3D image of what my teeth will look like once my treatment is complete & I am so pleased! I can’t not wait for my first set of aligners to get here! I’ve literally waited forever for this moment! My smile has always been my biggest insecurity! If your like me and you have to read a 1000 reviews before making a purchase! Lol! Stop procrastinating & finding excuses! You deserve it! You are worth it! & if your concerned for financial reasons, just trust & have faith that Jesus will make a way! I reviewed my experience 1 month into my journey.( I’ve copied that review and pasted it below. ) I promised to come back at the end and give an update. Wow! I can’t begin to tell you how nice it is to have my new smile. Everything went as planned, until the very end. I had a tooth I was concerned about and I guess I didn’t finish ordering my retainers the day I tried to do that. First, they sent me text reminders that my order hadn’t gone through. I called the 1-800 number for customer service, both people I spoke to were so amazing and really helpful. They were positive and very efficient in helping me out. They solved both issues right away. There were times that I needed to file edges on my braces to keep them from hurting my lips or gums. There was even a pair that I slightly trimmed off some plastic that was hurting the inside of my cheek. Most of that happened about month 2 and 3. By the last month, I didn’t need to make any adjustments on my braces at all. There are also times that you go to put on your braces at the beginning of a week and it seems like it might be impossible to get them on. They can be very tight, but they have to be that way to move those teeth the way you want them to. Keep working at it and use those chewies they gave you. ( On those nights, I would take a couple of Advil too.) I want to thank Smile Direct Club for my new smile! They made it such an easy and positive experience. Here is my first review from 1 month in: I read the reviews on this site the night before my appointment with SmileDirectClub. It scared me to death! I walked in telling them I had read terrible things, but I ended up going with them. I’m finishing up my first month now. I will be happy to submit a review at the end too. 1. I was fortunate to have a satellite site to visit near me. I walked into a satellite site and met with two of their employees. 2. They scanned my teeth into the computer ( instead of me having to make and send in an impression on my own, I knew that wouldn’t have been as accurate) 3. I asked about the orthodontist that would be overseeing me and where he was located. (Two miles down the street, easy to find if needed) 4. Employees at the satellite office told me IF I had any trouble at all, I could come by and they would make sure things got straightened out) 5. The price! It was almost a 1/3 of what my personal dentist had quoted me for Invisalign. 6. My purple box showed up in about 2-3 weeks to begin It contained everything I need for my entire program. All aligners for every week organized and ready to go. 7. Some people mentioned that after the first week their aligners didn’t fit down on their teeth—- these aligners are moving teeth, they are very snug. My third week they didn’t easily fit completely down onto the tops of my teeth, BUT, they give you “chewies” rubber cushions to bite down on to help seat the aligners. With a few bites, they fit right on the teeth. 1 month in and I already notice a difference! I can fit dental floss easily between each of my teeth when I floss. I used to break 1 -2 floss strings every time I tried to floss, my teeth were that close together. I’m excited about this process and the SmileDirectClub. They have been awesome for me so far. I’ll come back on and let you know if I feel the same way at the end.

I had a great customer experience at the office where I had a tech do the 3D imaging for my kit. Got the kit quickly, love the UV whitener and the LIP BALM, amazing. I'm about two weeks from being finished (5mo plan) and can see a solid improvement in both top and bottom. I had wisdom teeth removed right before SDC and ended up getting osteomyelitis in my jaw diagnosed about 6-8 weeks into my SDC treatment. Had to pause for nearly 8 weeks (jaw wired). That first tray back was rough but I was able to continue without any problems really. Never had any issues with trays (one or two have cracked after about 5 days) being unwearable etc. Overall I'm very happy with my SDC journey and think it's a good value for how quick and convenient this whole process was.

So far so good! I'm on month 1, week 4 of 3/4 and they feel good. I had braces when I was a teen and now in my 40s the aligners don't hurt half as bad as the metal braces. The aligners are moving my teeth with less pain, could be because I had braces before and now my teeth are moving right back onto place. The 1st week was the hardest because you need time to adjust and to get familiar on how to handle them. I did bend up the edge of the first set trying to pry them out while I was at work the very 1st day. I was able to bend the areas back the best I could, nothing major because they are very strong and it was just around the edge. I discovered it's better for me to use my fingernails when the aligners are very tight (I wash my hands and nails before each time) to remove the aligners instead of the removal tool . I start from the back molars on the outsides and I'm able to slowly shimmy them out. Best to switch to new aligners right before bed. I did need to use a file for a few sharp areas where my tongue was getting rubbed by a tiny little snag in the aligner that I couldn't see but I could feel. Will check back soon. Feb. 2020 Update: Just did my 90 day check in and I'm on track. My aligners are fitting well and I'm starting to see a big difference in the alignment, my teeth are getting straighter and my over bite is getting corrected. My bite alignment is good and I'm keeping and eye on it just due to reviews I have read. I'm very happy so far, no issues..... Complete! I'm very happy! I recieved the results that the 3D model projected. I will post before and after photos as soon as I take new pictures. Also my retainers arrived when expected and I love that I can order replacement retainers for $99 forever💗 the reason my teeth moved in the first place. I would not recommend this type of teeth straightening if you have weak teeth because the aligners put some serious pressure on your teeth so you may want to see a Orthodontist in my opinion. So far so good!! After reading mixed reviews I am assuming the people with the problems are the ones that did the mail in impressions. I opted for an office visit and the Green Bay location was amazing. The women there are fantastic. I am only on my 1st set of aligners and they fit great and I can definitely feel the pressure on my teeth so I know they are working. I have had to file various edges/areas of my aligners so they don't cut my tongue as other reviewers mentioned, but it's something new in your mouth and its going to take time to adjust. I feel like my mouth and lips are dryer with them in. The lip balm is awesome!! I really like it. SO Pros and Cons: I did a black Friday special and got a free office visit, $200 off my package with full payment plan and a free teeth whitening kit. I also received a $25 Amazon gift card via email - CON - it didn't work!!! Amazon said it was not a valid code!! Aside from that I got an email with an offer for (2) more lip balms and another set of teeth whitening gel pens FREE. Even free shipping. Can't beat that!! Oh and the chewies work great. I wish I used them sooner. I went a couple days of just putting the aligners in and pushing them in place with my thumbs but I noticed that after chewing on the chewies, the aligners fit much better and helped eliminate areas my tongue was rubbing on. PRO: Initial office visit - CON: processing. I was told that I would get an email in 3-5 days from my visit, showing what my new smile would look like and would then have 90 days to approve it and order my aligners. That is false... I was there on a Friday, the money was taken out of my account Saturday morning and I didn't get my email until Tuesday and I think it was Thursday that I got an email requesting my insurance information. I do not agree with that process. I actually wanted to wait until after Christmas to pay/start the program and after having my office visit, the company pretty much assumed I was going thru with this and took the money out. After calling them I was told I had (90) to cancel my order and get a refund. That's not right!! Customers should have (90) days to decide and then pay. There was no window of time for me to "think" about it. Aside from their assumption I was 100% on board, I am happy. Again I just started but my experience has been pretty good. The cost was a huge factor for me - they are very reasonable and I am only looking for a slight adjustment on my teeth. I noticed with age my front teeth are starting to shift so by not needing extensive orthodontic work, insurance coverage was not an option and these were very affordable. I would highly recommend customers to go to an actual office and get a more accurate scan of your mouth and see and feel the product before you go with it.

I'm now 32 days away from completing the whole process. I've had no problems at all. The price is amazing comparing to other solutions. I've followed their instructions to the letter I can clearly see the results. I had a very noticeable overbite but now my teeth look and feel straight. My wife confirmed it is not my eyes only noticing the change. I only had to do some light sanding on some retainers to not hurt my gums but all is great. I'm very pleased. Don't understand or agree with the bad reviews. I looked for places to add my review as I'm near the end but got very disappointed with the lack of civility and/or unreasonable demands.

I’m only on my second week with my first set....I received them in 2weeks from ordering. .I got the night time aligners and already feel a difference. I haven’t had any trouble with them cutting into my gums like others have. I’d highly recommended finding a 3D scan sight like I did. Their very knowledgeable and thorough. It’s worth the time and effort to go. I had one question and called customer service and it was answered promptly. The only thing I hate is taking them out in the morning....can be kinda gross haha But overall I’m please. I’ll do more reviews as time goes on.

My son started using the aligners back in October 2018. He was really excited getting started, his teeth were over lapping. Once he started things were great. He hit a bump in the road where he had to have a back molar pulled out. He had to stop using aligners for a month, till his gums healed. He restarted once again. Yes, you experience some discomfort when your teeth are shifting, then again that is expected. Now all of a sudden his top aligners were not staying in. Called up customer service, explained the situation, they set him up with an appointment. He went this morning and was re-scanned. Cindy was our smile guide, she is located in the Hauppauge, NY location. She was very helpful and pleasant. In fact we were at the wrong location she helped him just the same. Now he will have to wait for his new aligners. Thank you!

I started my aligners in September 2018, projected I'll be done March 2018. I did at home impressions, I received the kit in 2 days. Did the kit, sent it back, did payment, and received my aligners 2-3 weeks after that (estimated time is 3-5 weeks). All my aligners have fit and been no more painful than expected of moving teeth. No cavities have come from it, no gum problems, just movement and improvement! SDC has been amazing to me since day one. I recommend it to everyone and even my mom has begun doing her aligners too. It's cost effective, cheaper and faster than braces. As long as you don't have severe teeth issues- SDC can definitely help you. My biggest insecurity is now one of my favorite part about myself. I also signed up to be an Ambassador for them, and help others with questions and information about SDC, I will receive commission for anyone who uses my code and orders aligners.

Expensive for the minimal aligning of my teeth-have straight teeth from braces and mostly did this for retainer purposes. Should have lower cost options for people that need minimum movement. Also the bottom aligners were all too low and cut my frenum and had to do a lot of work to file them down.

My first set of aligners fit ok. It cut my tongue a lot so I had to do a lot of filing. Then when it was time to switch my aligners the second set did not fit at all. It’s been two months since waiting for my new set. Other than that the service and people are kind.

Was told something different when I bought the program than the final outcome. I asked to have the nighttime program. The woman I spoke to said the Dr. would let me know in 72 hours. No one notified me to the contrary and I wound up with program you are supposed to wear 22 hours a day. Had I known that I might not have bought into the club. My opinion is they are into sales—not care or communicating with patients!

It was kind of far to drive to have the scan done for the aligners. I was given a $25 gift card that did not work. After several calls and countless time on the phone, Smile Direct ended up crediting my bank the $25. I am on my 3rd set of aligners. They have really rough edges that cut my tongue and cut both sides of the gum between my front teeth. Filing didn't help much.
