The customer service is HORRIBLE. Been waiting 3 MONTHS to finish getting our refrigerator fixed and all the parts have been sitting at our house for 2 MONTHS!!!! They have pushed us out farther and cancelled our service appointments more than once! This company takes your money with NO RETURN OF SERVICE!!! Also, NEVER PAY IN CASH!!! Good thing I kept my receipt as they tried to say a previous bill was never paid and threatened to send to collections. However, I keep all my receipts, thank goodness! Sent those in and voila, all taken care of. Not only do they not want to do the actual service repairs, but they also try to make you pay twice for a job that is done! Completely ridiculous!

The reason I signed up for Sears warranty was that it was to be care fee if anything broke down. My dryer quit heating on the 1st of Sept. I called Sears and scheduled me for the 16 of Sept. On the 16th a service person showed up and said he needed to order parts and would get back to me the next week, that they had the parts. the next week came and went after several calls to them. They informed me that parts were on back order. after two months and several calls. Still with no dryer, they offered me a new dryer or $644.00. I took the new dryer thinking it would be the quickest way to get a dryer again . A week goes by and no dryer and no phone calls. So i call again and they say the dryer they offered me was not available. Well why did you offer it to me? So I did some research and Sears close to me had three of the same dryer in stock and I called a couple of service company's and they could get the parts. So I call Sears Warranty (Cinch) and told them I had found a dryer and I also found a place to get the parts and could they just contact either one of them and get me a dryer. They said no they could not do this. Will everyone claims this is because of the pandemic will my thing if we are claiming this pandemic why can't we step out of the box and do a little more for our customer instead of this is our policy and we can not do anything else. So after waiting all this time I took the money and had my dryer fixed with in the week. So what good is a warranty? Also I tried canceling the warranty and I get lip from the agent about they have to charged me another month and she was rude and the phone connection was horrible. This to me is not customer service in any form.

I am going with one star because a negative star rating is not given as a choice. Avoid this company at all costs. It’s very easy to enroll and they make collecting your monthly payments extremely easy. Those are the only easy things about this unprofessional group of people. We have had nothing but bad experiences when trying to get them to live up to the claims they make in your welcome package. There’s absolutely no access to any kind of a professional person you can speak to, just representatives that are masterful at stonewalling good honest people. Our story is long and unbelievable, just heed the warning!!! We will not be renewing the agreement, and will be contacting our credit card company to block these unscrupulous, dishonest people from collecting any more payments.

They don't show up for scheduled appointments. Often cancelling the day of the appointment because they dont have anyone. My washing machine took so long for them to repair in flooded the house and they didn't not cover a dime of the expense of replace the Washing machine You are on hold on average of at least an hour to talk to someone and always get transferred. The hold music is horrible! When parts need order it takes forever to get them and than you have to wait until they have an appointment available. Whatever you do don't get a Warranty with Sears We have had them for 20 years plus but the last 2 years have been a nightmare dealing with them

Had my water heater covered under the home warranty. When it recently began leaking, I called Sears. I was told that since they no longer carried 50 gallon Kenmore heaters. They would buy out my contract and pay me the cost to replace the existing one with plumber and installation charges. coming to $1,199.00. I sign ed the release and sent it back to them, via email as I was told. Then I was told to expect a check within 21 days. That was over a month ago and today, I received a phone call from Sears, stating that I can now go to any Sears store and they will replace my water heater. GREAT! What was I supposed to do? Wait a month without hot water? How stupid. I have emailed another copy of the release to the warranty dept. But still no word and no check. WTF. This is good business? An attorney would cost me the $1100, but now, it seems like this is the only route, that I have left. Is it any wonder, that these companies ate going under? Who would patronize these scum? If I could give them a minus 3 star rating, I would. Never deal with Sears, anywhere, or anytime. Make their death quick and relatively painless for everyone.

They had me on hold for 4 non consecutive hours to fix a problem that began six weeks ago, and they still have not responded. They were supposed to call me last week and never did. When the repairman showed up 3 weeks after my initial call, he discovered the wrong control panel was in it, which could only have happened due to a previous service on that machine. Since Sears is the only service company I’ve ever used, it had to be them who did it. I’m still without a dishwasher to this day, six weeks later. I was also told by a repair man that there was nothing wrong with my clothes drier when it wouldn’t dry my clothes on the sensor setting. Another repairman said YES, the sensor was bad, but they weren’t being made anymore. At the very least, they should answer the phone in the warranty department, and return calls when promised. I know Covid has made things more complicated, but this is sincerely ridiculous. I’m shopping around now for a home warranty that gives you what you paid for. ANYTHING is better than this!

This has been a complete nightmare. Do not get sucked into their service. They came out in June to repair an icemaker. Waited 6 weeks for icemaker to come in. Then had to wait two weeks for them to come out. The icemaker was installed. Didn't work after technician left. Waited another two weeks for them to come out. They didn't show up. Had to call again to schedule another appointment. Apparently the icemaker was a dud. Had to order another icemaker. Another icemaker came in within a week. Had to wait another two weeks for technician. Installed and still didn't work. Must be the valve he said. Ordered. It is now six weeks later and no valve. Can't get an answer from sears. In the meantime they suckered me into the warranty at $69.99 a month but I had to keep for a year because they gave me 50percent off the labor for the icemaker. Just called to cancel the warranty and they charged me $150 the other 50percent from the icemaker install that still doesn't work. I've spent countless hours waiting for technicians, time on the phone that I can't get back. Beware beware beware do not use this service.

When I bought the warranty I knew I would be moving. So, I asked up front whether the covered address could be changed/updated. They said yes. I called and updated the address and they said it would take 24 hours for the update to process. Two days later, it was still showing the old address online. I just tried to update the property address again via phone and was told I had to cancel the contract and renew, paying an additional $49.99. I informed them I had already paid for this month and they told me that was the only way to update the covered property address. So, I cancelled. Sears is notorious for horrible products and horrible service. It’s no wonder they’ve filed for bankruptcy. I would give 0 stars if I could.

When it comes time for Sears appliance warranty to pay up for new units , they "lose paperwork" , only have one phone number to a rep that reads whatever is on the screen in front of them, complete run around with no direct contact with anyone who can actually expedite a claim. Hold times are ridiculous, over 90 minutes, with no email or chat contact to be found . They dont want to have a "transcript" of what is actually feed to the consumer. Will be seeking legal counsel with a contractual attorney if my claim is not handled by end of week. Bought absolute lemons from Sears, kenmore washer & dryer have had numerous service calls and repairs, sometimes waiting months for parts. Now the units are unservicable and dealing with this nonsense. Unacceptable and illegal!

Do not get this product. They lie, This company does not deserve a star at all. We paid 3 weeks ahead of time for a service call. We cancelled it the day before and requested a refund. We still have not received a refund and they say every week since 09/06/2020 that it will be 7-10 business days. I don't think you should get the warranty. Just save the money for the warranty to put towards a new appliance. This company is not trustworthy, reliable, have quality, not a good value for my money. They are liars. You cant cancel this warranty as you are tied into it for a year. They will deduct your money and make you pay it regardless. It is not worth it

Sears has not resolved the issue with our washer for more than 7 weeks. They made and changed the appointment 4 times on the day of the visit stating that the job requires 2 person and they did not have the second person, hence they have to reschedule. I asked them to write that on the ticket after it happened the first time. Every time that is the excuse; the second technician was not available. I have sent my feedback to Sears a couple of times but no one seems to read it or take any action, or call me back. Their service is pathetic and I will never recommend Sears Warranty Service to anyone.

I would not recommend SHW because they were at my home to repair my freezer 8 times between Feb2010 and Aug 2020. My freezer is still not working as my ice is melting together in the unit and drops frost all over the inside compartment. Unacceptable at any point. This is what I receieved as a paying memeber under contract for 6 years. R Clamme

RANT: I HATE LIARS! Thurs my husband called Sears #sears to see if we had a warranty on the washer. No - but here's a great deal. Pay $129 & someone will come to check it out & it will cover the visit & parts. $49.99 every month starting next month but can cancel anytime. Service rep here Sat - have to pay $129. Checked CC & they had billed us for $49.99. Called today. Explained that we had been lied to not 1, not 2, but 3 times by their rep! Long story short -after 2 HOURS on the phone with the 1st hr just waiting to talk to someone & then transferred x 4!! - refund $49.99 & cancel everything but you also owe $33.22 for the part. Not what we were told!! $129 was to cover EVERYTHING. They could give us a $50 gift card! HELLO!!! You can't waive the $33.22 but can give me a $50 gift card?!?!?! NO THANKS! We will NEVER purchase another product from Sears!! #HATELIARS #NEVERPURCHSEFROMTHEMAGAIN #WHATAJOKE #greatwarrantyisajoke #longwait

i bought new washer and dryer from sears with a full coverage warranty plan. the washer broke down and it took sears a month to get here. I have been waiting for a repair to be made since Febuary. we have been renting an appliance since. i call sears and am on phone sometimes two hours or more and get nowhere. they finally sent a local repair man out that does not want to do the work because of what they want to pay him. the repairman tells me that one of the parts is on back order. i still have not got a call through to sears in several months. never will i or anyone i know buy another sears product. one star is lowest will let me rate

I agree with other reviewers that this is a total scam. PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP!!! My washing machine has been out of service for over two months. They came to look ($75 charge) at it and said it needs a new transmission. The tech told me they wouldn't be able to find the part (the unit is old) and would call shortly to replace the washing machine per the terms of the contract. Of course that didn't happen. When I call the warranty company they tell me that the service department is still looking for the part so they suggest I call them. When I call the service department they tell me they have listed the part as unavailable and are NOT looking for the part and suggest I call the Warranty department . ...and so it goes over and over. So I'm left frustrated with no solution. I'm cancelling the monthly charge through my credit card company and taking my losses. They used to be really good but not anymore.

Very poor service. We started our claim back in January 2020. The first tech came out and ordered a part for our freezer. We paid him $75.00 Once it finally arrived, another tech came out and said it was the wrong part. Then he said he could not find a part and he would let them know the appliance needed to be replaced. Our claim was approved on March 6, 2020. They said we could either get a new freezer delivered or we could have a check. We opted for the freezer. A few weeks went by and no freezer. We called and they said that the freezer was back ordered. So we waited. We called again and they said that we could get a check so we said yes. The plan was cancelled on May 6 2020. Now we get a letter saying we owe them $384. Um no. Poor customer service is not our problem. The claim was approved over 30 days before we cancelled. No wonder they are going out of business.

Why I cannot rate zero stars is beyond me. Please do yourself a favor and do not sign up for Sears Home Warranty. I signed up and had my HVAC go out on June 17,2020. The earliest I could get someone to come out was June 25, 2020. When they arrived they said it needed a compressor and of course they had to order the part. They scheduled to fix it on July 10, 2020 which was 24 days after it was reported. When they arrived I was told the part was damaged and they will return on July 14, 2020. They never showed and rescheduled for July 18, 2020. The night before they rescheduled yet again for July 22, 2020. The forcast is calling for a heat index of over one hundred degrees and my A/C is still not fixed. Customer service says they understand but cannot do anything. I requested to find the part on my own but they refused. I asked to have a reputable company fix it and turn the bill over but they said that is not covered. So I'm still without A/C. They clearly "understand".

This warranty is fake! I had three different professional company's come to my home to look at my ac unit and all three disagreed with what the SEARS technicians stated. If my unit was improperly installed as they stated it would've stop working the very first year it was installed back in 2002. They just made that up to denied the repair. The unit just met its life spam and it just needs to be replaced. I asked for a refund for the 8 months of payments I have made and yet have heard from them. This warranty is bogus and I will be reporting them as well to better business bureau as well they will be hearing from my attorney for the way they handle themselves with the scam they are running.

Purchased a Kenmore Elite for $2200 in Oct. of 2016. The linear compressor went out in June of 2020. The Sears technician came out today and tried to sell me on the Sears Home Warranty plan for $600/year. He originally quoted me a labor cost of $800 - $900 without the plan’s discount on labor. I was first given a lead time on the compressor of 1 - 2 weeks. When I told him “I am not interested in the plan”, the lead time on the part went to indefinite. He told me there was no incentive for Sears to get the part in sooner. Also, it was not until I said “no” to getting the plan, then he takes the back panel off again and states that my computer will also have to be replaced. The computer in the refrigerator never gave me a bit of problem before. Lastly, he told me the service call would be $53.00. But then as he is leaving, he says the bill is $153.00 because I did not purchase the Sears Home Warranty plan while he was there. What a scam!!! I will never purchase anything from Sears again. No wonder they filed for bankruptcy and have closed so many of their stores.

Just got scammed/ripped off by Sears Home Warranty. So my frig hasn't been getting cool for a couple months now, and ice maker not working for the past year or so. Finally decided to put a call in and was told "$109 diagnostic fee, plus parts and labor." Then was given the option to buy a Sears Home Warranty plan and here are the details that were given to me, and I bought it: - $50/month, plus $75 service charge per call. I had to pay the first month up front, so $50 was charged to my credit card right then and there. Now, all I needed to pay was the $75 when the tech comes out (today) - EVERYTHING is covered for repairs. No out of pocket expenses aside from the $75 service charge. - Also covers my dishwasher, microwave, washer, and dryer. - If the technician cannot fix the unit, Sears will replace it with a new one. I NEVER buy service contracts I used to sell them, as an electronics tech decades ago, and as a finance manager for motorcycles. I've always thought they were a ripoff and that's why I made so much money selling them. But this time, I figured I'll stop being such a skeptic and go with the flow. Buy the contract for "peace of mind" if nothing else. Service technician comes to fix my frig, and informs me: - I need to pay $75 plus $50 (again) for a total of $129 for today's visit...in addition to the $50 that was charged up front. (So, in actuality, I was charged $50 more than what I expected to pay) - The maximum limit per call on the service contract is $500 (but the guy on the phone, who sold me the warranty, didn't tell me that!). - The icemaker needs to be replaced, and that will cost $1200 minus the $500 limit, so my out of pocket would be $700 in addition to the $125 stated above...for a total of $825 just to fix my frig, for which I purchased the Sears Home Warranty plan. - No, Sears will not replace my unit with a new one, either, if the technician can't fix it. The bastard on the phone outright lied to me on that one! Of course, I declined to pay $825 to fix the icemaker. And the reason why my refrigerator side wasn't getting cold, is simply because the vents are frozen over. So the tech instructed me to unplug the frig and leave the doors open for a day, to defrost everything. For that little piece of instruction, I paid a total of $175 ($50 to get on the warranty plan, $50 for the first month, and $75 premium for today's visit). WHAT A RIPOFF!!! Do NOT ever buy a Sears Home Warranty contract...or ANY service contract, for that matter. I never did because I used to sell them and I know better. I should've remembered that.

I purchased this warranty in April and in May my dryer stopped working. Called for a repair. They ordered parts for me and they never got to me. I followed up with Sears Home Warranty 6 times now and the issue is still not resolved. They keep telling me they will follow up with me about the parts but they never do. I have to call them every 2 days for them to resolve my issue. They don’t want to take accountability to replace my dryer. There is never a supervisor available to speak to. We are in at the end of June and still have a broken dryer even though I have paid 3 months of the warranty. I regret getting this warranty!

Purchased my front loading washing machine in February 2020. Was making a knocking noise, called Sears Home Services. Repair person from AF Services came, said needed shocks to prevent the knocking would order parts. Received a call stating they were coming at the last minute said tech had to rush his wife to the hospital and unable to do repair. On June 9th he arrived with three shocks which I thought was unusual since would expect the machine to have four shocks. He left after replacing the shocks, did not test the machine to see if the knocking noise was resolved. Later that day tried to use the machine, could not no power nothing. Called AF Services, said repair person would be here on June 10th, do not arrive, again called them, they said June, 11th again no show, Received an email saying would be here on June 12th, no show. Finally had it purchased a same model washing machine. It arrived today June 15th. Received a call from Andrew U saying he was coming to fix the machine. My son spoke to him and said too late we have a new machine do not bother. Filed a complaint with California Department of Consumer Affairs about AF Services. Contacted CBS Two on Your Side about the poor service received from this company. Will file with Consumer Affairs about Sears Home Warranty which uses subpar contractors. The washing machine is still under manufacturers warranty, since it purchased February 2020. Cannot go to the laundrymat because of COVID-19 I am 81 years and have an autoimmune disease. Next stop is the courthouse for a Small Claims lawsuit.

The washing machine and dryer guy is great. Everyone else cancelled. I got talked into the 799 plan, thinking great now I can get some extended use out of my current appliances, not one person has showed up for the refrigerator, they canceled and made it look like I canceled, and they charged me a deductible for each and every price. This was supposed to cover my plumbing too, so I had this local guy out, and it turns out he 'had no idea' this was under a warranty plan (yeah, right) and he charged me this exorbitant fee, because it was 'going to insurance' and the plan rep said, no, this would be going to my deductible. I got sucked in, and now with COVID 19, I won't be able to get service anyway if something breaks. I wasted my hard earned money on a plan that did nothing for me. oh, yeah, and they changed hands and no one even told me. no notice. none.

Stay away from this dishonest company!! They do not live up to their contract! Horrible the way they give you the run around! My refrigerator could not be repaired and they will not replace like the contract states. You are dealing with at least three outfits here and none of them takes responsibility. Been without a refrigerator since March 10th, 2020. they replaced the compressor and it worked less than 24 hours. Second repairman said it cannot be fixed since oil is in the lines and it will not hold freon , also he said the first repairman ruined the refrigerator when he replaced the compressor. Now I am being told the Third Party who has the liability policy is the one who should resolve the claim. Can't get them to do anything so far. Everyone is giving me the run around and I still do not have a working refrigerator. My contract states if it cannot be repaired it will be replaced. Don't believe that either. I cancelled my contract, which renewed in October, 2019. I was told I would have to pay the contract out and also pay for the compressor. That will never happen if they don't replace my refrigerator!!!!!!

I used the home warranty on three seperate occasions to repair my front load washer. The repairman would replace a part and leave but never fixed the problem. The last repairman said they would total my washer since the parts to repair would be more than the washer is worth; therefore replace it with a similar washer. My husband and I thought great, the warranty was worth the $69 per month premium we have paid for the last 4 years. However, when we spoke to the claims department they gave us a replacement model that is not even the same brand of our old washer. We were okay with that but then she told us we are limited to the color white. Our old washer and dryer are stainless. We even suggested we would pay the $50 extra bucks to give us stainless. However, they said no and that if we did not want it they would give us cash but is 40% less than the washer they offered us! Really? Therefore, we will have to replace our washer ourselves and pay 60% of the cost to replace the washer. Needless to say, I tried to cancel the warranty at this point and told I would have to pay $210 to cancel. This is such a SCAM. Do not purchase a warranty from Sears! I am sending a letter to the BBB to report this company.

My water heater stopped working. It had a small leak. It was barely 4 years old. They came out right away, looked at it and said it needed to be replaced. When I told them it might be under warranty, they said they checked and it wasn't. They told me I would have to pay a $450.00 charge to bring the new one up to code, that's in addition to my $100 service fee. They came back the next day and put in a new heater exactly like the one they replaced same brand everything. I sat in the garage to watch them and they wouldn't work . After I left the garage they installed the heater in less than 30 minutes. When given a receipt nothing was itemized. My question is how can code violations take less than 10 minutes to repair or replace. I feel that the company "AllState" is not transparent and that they overcharged me. I am going to contact sears and see what they have to said. I was ripped off!

This is beyond bad!! I called to cancel my warranty plan. I was told my refund would be credited to my account in"3 to 5 business days" after making 10 calls over a month and a half time period, I still haven't received my promised refund. I've spent over 5 hours either on hold or talking to an agent who can barely speak English. One was named "Moses" he can part the red sea but, couldn't help me. My advice is to stay away from this company!!! It's based in Florida!! State where most phone and computer scams orginate. Remember, Over a month and a half has passed with no refund. Their scam is having you pay for a home visit and the selling of a warranty plan. Then making you get frustrated and just write it off.

Avoid this company at all costs. I was a customer of Sears Home Warranty for more than 8 years. Last year, I placed a claim for an error message on a wall oven. Sears sent three companies to look at it... one didn't work on that brand, one couldn't get parts, and one was located 2 hours away and wouldn't travel here. Called Sears AGAIN... issue was elevated. I got a call back a couple days later instructing me to have the oven fixed by a local repair service of my choice, get a receipt and submit it to Sears who would reimburse me for the repair. I paid $750 to a local company (the biggest electronics dealer in the Midwest, so very reputable) and got the oven fixed. I contacted Sears and in short, I was told they had no record to me being told to get the oven fixed. Since they record all the calls, I asked if we could pull the transcripts and was told there was nothing they could do. I immediately canceled my service and don't ever want them to scam another person. I would strongly suggest you avoid this company.

repair of a Sears refrigerator that was 8 years old..motor control went out . Repair bill was $680..but if we took out appliance warranty it would be $280.00 (which would be reasonable without warranty) Have paid $49.00 a mo for 6 mo..called to cancel policy..was told cancellation fee of $280.00 would apply. (was just told I could cancel at anytime) total amount spent on this repair =$854.00. total scam!! (could not find anyone other than Sears to work on this Kenmore..because as it turns out..it is really a LG)..Plus the lip service I got just to cancel this policy was shameful..they just wouldn't shut up and cancel it! Horrible, horrible, horrible. I had a list of questions explaining my home, my well house, and where my well was located. I described it in detail before ever even signing a contract for the full home warranty program. I wrote down the customer service representatives answers. Things that he said were “absolutely “covered. It ended up that some of those things were not covered at all. Blatant upfront lies of what coverage will be. Now I am very worried about faulty wiring in my kitchen, with my kitchen lights not working correctly. Sears home warranty is unable to find anyone within two hours distance of my home to provide a service. An electrical company two hours away came to fix my electrical problem, and we thought it was fixed, but shortly afterward, is worse with both kitchens light switches now not working correctly. I am terrified there could be a fire in my home because of this. Sears home warranty is fighting tooth and nail to NOT reimburse the electrical company to come (from 2 hours away) and assess and repair whatever the issue is. They are asking service providers to LOSE money on their jobs. They do not care about the safety of their customers, nor their own integrity or morals. One star is too high of a rating for me

Total Ripoff, horrible service, and nonresponsive! I had this service for less than a year and then Sears filed bankruptcy. During that time my heat pump went out at the beginning of the summer, and that began my nightmare! After 8 different service appointments they failed to repair my heat pump, we suffered through the summer and had to buy a window unit! I could not let anyone else touch the unit otherwise it would have voided the warranty. I wrote to all of the senior leaders at Sears several times trying to get assistance and never got one response! Sears canceled my appointment so I reached out to someone else to fix my heat pump and yet that's the day the repair man showed up! I was told that due to bankruptcy Sears warranty was not performing any maintenance repairs. They then double back and said they never said that and tried to continued to make me pay after I canceled my plan! It's no wonder Sears has tanked and gone belly up because their practices and policies answer of us are not only a nightmare and inefficient but a rip off! Beware!

DO NOT SIGN on to this program. Shame on the Sears Company! I wish I had read the reviews before signing up for this program. I will no longer purchase anything from the company Sears! Sears sold me on this program. I have purchased all of my appliances from Sears for the last 35 years, and call them for all of my appliance repairs! I did the whole house warranty at 69.99 per month. I had a pipe burst, and called it in. It took them 5 days to get back to me to tell me they couldn’t locate anyone in the area to do it. They then said to get an estimate from someone local, and then that process would take another few days to approve at an agreed price. As anyone knows, a burst pipe needs to be repaired quickly, so we called a local plumber to fix it. This was the first fail. Next fail, I call in 2 months ago for a dishwasher repair. They make an appt. for 3 weeks down the road to do the repair, (3 weeks is pathetic in itself) A day before, I get an email to call them about the parts delivery. They can’t get the parts. Since then, I call every week, spend hours on the phone, each rep telling me they will look into and get back to me. No one ever calls back. Now, I would just like my money back that I put into this program, so I can just go buy a new dishwasher, or call a local repairman to fix it. They won’t even let you cancel your membership for a year, so I need to continue to pay, and not get one thing done from them, to cover their end of this year long agreement. With all the upset people on all these reviews, I think we should get together and do a “Class Action Lawsuit” against Sears Company! Sears has lost a longtime excellent customer in me, and I am sure many others! This same review will go out to every social media platform I am on, and any company that provides reviews. Shame on Sears for pushing me into this failed program in December.

We have a Sears Home Warranty. This is the most crooked company I have ever dealt with. We made a claim back in September of 2019 for an oven repair. It was originally made on September 5th. It was completed on October 14th. Our tenants were without an oven for almost 6 weeks! The refrigerator has now stopped cooling. We did not want to leave our elderly tenants without a refrigerator for another 6 week repair time, so we bought them a new one and took the old one to our house to have repaired. We were told this cannot happen... and that in order for the repair to be warranted , we had to bring it back and just wait it out. When we tried to cancel the warranty - we were told we owed $200 because they had repaired something for us in the past year. I am BEYOND disgusted with this company and their policies. Heed others warnings!

TN Customer Chattanooga, TN

I have mixed experience with Sears Home Warranty services, and will explain why I rated them so poorly. Getting simple appliance repairs seems pretty easy (e.g., refrigerator, microwave). Getting HVAC or Water Heater repairs are a nightmare. Generally such repairs are needed immediately (e.g, leaking water, no hot water, no heat or AC). Sears seems to have very few if any service vendors contracted to handle HVAC or Plumbing issues. This may depend on where you live, but in Chattanooga TN, there are none of either. They then try to find vendors in other nearby and distant cities to arrange service which takes days to get scheduled, if they even are successful in finding one. Customer service in the interim is abysmal, and is largely supported by off shore representative all over the world it seemed. I suggest doing deep homework on the their available service providers before signing up if for some reason you particularly prefer Sears. If good consistent US based customer service matters, look elsewhere. If you're looking to purchase good peace of mind to help immediately with emergency repairs, look elsewhere. In two out three instances of needed repairs, I ended up arranging service locally and paying out of pocket because Sears simply would not engage with a timely reasonable solution. I had two Sears service contracts covering two separate properties and I cancelled them both today. I would never consider Sears Home Warranty Services ever again, and would share the same with anyone who asked me.

Do not get SEARS APPLIANCES WARRANTY!! I canceled on 2/12/2020 due to a fire that displaced my family from a home we were renting. We got the warranty because the washer/dryer unit needed to be repaired last year and the service tech said it would be good to get and that it would cover up to 10 appliances. So we got it paying $49 a month. What they failed to tell us that if we cancel that the fees from the parts used in the repairs last year will be applied because they waived those fees since we signed up for the warranty. Today, I called 3 times to pay the cancellation fee and was told 3 different amounts in two hours. Once I was told $99, then $25, then finally $131.24. Ridiculous!!!! It’s not worth getting!! The warranty would have expired next month but because we have moved and it’s not our home I wanted to closed this warranty but believe me, I will never refer Sears or used them again!! SCAM!!! I say that because when you don’t fully disclose the details until you cancel, you are then hiding very key facts from your customer!! Never again!!

I have sears home warranty i pay 49.99 every month,I called for service and automated system made appointment only for range ,i was made to pay $75 to the technician who said for washer and dryer you will have to call again and the $75 is only one time it will last for 90 days , the next day came the technician for washer dryer but he refused to check the dryer as he said the service is only for washer i said the sutomated appointment maker on the phone has no option for multiple appliance service ,he made me pay another $75 and said call Sears home warranty for your refund,I called Sears there was Jeffery on phone he said we cant help you as you have already paid the technician and as you made appointment on phone .... all crap excuses ,they are a fraud company that tell you something and when i asked for his supervisor as Jefferry said we will have to pay another $75 again for the dryer service, bunch of corporate crooks ,the supervisor never came on line after Jeffery made us wait for 35 minutes ,he told us my supervisor will call you.Horrible experience after taking our money every month and giving fake excuse for charging us $75 every time they come though in a week though they lie that the $75 is good for 90 days.

Unfortunately I have been scammed by this company. The Sears guy came to fix my refrigerator and ended up selling me this policy saying everything would be covered with no problem. I took out this policy a year ago and a week ago, my a/c went out needing a new compressor for the outside unit. The tech came out two times, the second time to get a check for $100 deductible and to take pics of everything for them to send to a “round table” to decide if they were gonna cover it and someone was supposed to call me to let me know. I finally called today only to be told it was denied due to inadequate maintenance. Please don’t get scammed like me.

Cancelled my warranty today. EVERY time you place a claim they come to your house and then the technician orders a part to be sent to your house. When you receive the part you have to make another appointment for them to come back which is typically another 2-3 weeks later. I needed my dryer fixed and after a week they told me they HAD NO IDEA when I would receive my part because it was back ordered. On top of all of this Sears has outsourced the call center out of this country and no one can barely speak english and they are VERY VERY RUDE. DO NOT sign up for this warranty !!!! You are wasting a lot of your life with them. They deserve NO stars.

Terrible customer service, disgraceful claim handling and lack of responsiveness from Management. We purchased our Sears Home Warranty (Cross Country, Cinch) in March 2019. Our dishwasher broke on January 26, 2020 and we contacted Sears for a repair. On January 27, 2020 we received an email stating our request was sent to a service provider who would be in contact with us to set a date to look at the problem. The Service provider came and told us what was wrong and would order the parts to fix the problem. This is when the nightmare started. After several weeks of not hearing from the Contractor I contacted him only to find out he was still waiting on the parts (8 of them). I then found out that Sears and Cinch Home Service are the same company, and they are only a call center. Everything is done by National Service Alliance? Another player. I have called Sears, Cinch, numerous times again to find out their service representative is only reading from a monitor and really unable to provide any real information or solution. Many times they said Management would call me. If they did or when they did call they didn’t have any real information, again they could only give me information off the screen. I found out that they also have to contact National Services Alliance, but they can only do so via email. This is what our Contractor also stated that the only way he can get in touch with National Service Alliance is via email. The Contractor has informed me that he has received 4 out of the 7 parts needed to repair our unit and he has been told by National Service Alliance that the parts were either shipped, or incorrect parts were shipped etc. I found out that National Service Alliance orders parts from other suppliers, therefore they are the middle man also! It appears there are a lot of Indians and no Chiefs!!! As of this date March 7, 2020 our dishwasher is still not fixed, but once again I am told the parts are on the way. This process of fixing a dishwasher should be a very simple one. Diagnose the problem, order the parts then fix the unit.

Don't buy this Home Warranty. This is a scam. They came to my house to fix the refrigerator, and at the same time they sold me this home warranty which as I was told it covered everything , and also if they couldn't fix it they will replace the refrigerator. Well, they have changed the condensation line three times in three months, , and the refrigerator is still not cooling at all. When I talked to a representative, she explained that they are not going to replace the refrigerator and they are going to send the technician again to change the condensation line for the fourth time, even though they know that this is not going to solve the problem. Bottom line of this: they are not able to fix the refrigerator but they are not going to replace it either , even though their Welcome letter states that if they can't repair the product, they'll replace it, Don't believe them, please. This is just another way for Sears to get your money and your time. Don't play fool as I did.

Awful. We have had this coverage for years and are zero for two with having them actually honor the coverage. First time, they took the position that while the washer clearly had a bad bearing causing significant grinding noise, it still worked so they would not repair it. Second time they cancelled the appointment two hours after they were supposed to show up saying they were "over booked". Disgraceful insurance scam. This company simply takes the aggravation of having an appliance break and adds a new problem and aggravation dealing with a company who has no intention of honoring its obligations.

AVOID PURCHASING THIS WARRANTY!! First of all, know they keep your credit card on file and AUTOMATICALLY RENEW YOUR POLICY a month before the expiration date (apparently somewhere in the "fine print"). They said they mailed a reminder but I never saw one. My first experience with this company was driving in rush hour traffic in the rain (2 hrs) to meet a refrigerator repair person at our rental property. After I finally get there, I get a text saying repair person can't make it and they need to reschedule. Only after I bitterly complain do they give me a $50 certificate to use at Sears. The next time we tried to use our warranty, the repair person was late. I called Sears 800# and was told "he was running behind schedule." "He" never came and when I called the local company who was doing the work, they said they had no knowledge they were scheduled to fix our garage door. They also said this was a common occurrence with Sears Home Warranty: Sears reportedly sets the appointments but do not always coordinate with the contractor. When our HVAC unit stopped working (while we had weekly renters in the blistering heat of summer), I scheduled the repairs ASAP; maybe within a day of my call. I then received a confirmation text with a date further out than I had scheduled. I called a non-Sears HVAC company to fix the unit. This non-Sears contractor said my unit was pretty dirty, so I called Sears and scheduled a maintenance visit to have it serviced. The contractor was knowledgeable and friendly; however he told us that in his experience, Sears would never replace this unit if it couldn't be repaired. He stated he would be required to take pictures, say it hadn't been maintained, etc. Last, when I called customer service to get a refund for the automatic renewal I did not authorize, the representative said it had all been refunded except $25.00. She had no explanation for this mistake; just said she was refunding the $25.00. This company is good at signing you up and getting your money; however I found them to be very unreliable and disorganized-they don't even have Virginia listed as a state!

This has to be the worse company I have ever dealt with. I've had two other conpanies in other parts of the country I've lived in. Their premiums were cheaper, their service calls were half the price and they actually covered and or replaced what was broken. Not only did Sears charge more per month, their service calls were double and I had to find my own technician. When the technician tried calling them over twelve times to get pre authorization to replace my water heater he couldn't reach anyone. Finally after 6 months and having to leave the house due to no hot water, (I have a child and an 82 year old ill mother living with me) we had to replace it. After several calls to reach a supervisor I finally reached someone only for them to deny coverage because we didn't get preauthorized. I have paid into this for two years, filed three claims and they didn't cover anything. They have caused me so much stress for an extra insurance plan I chose to take out. When I contacted the company they pretty much said took bad. I sent an email and several phone calls demanding my premiums back and no one has had the decency to get back to me. I am beyond unhappy. No wonder sears went out of business. When I call its a different company that answers. I believe they deal with a secondary out of the country company. DO NOT TAKE OUT COVERAGE WITH THIS COMPANY

I have made 5 attempts to have someone come and look at my refrigerator which has been out for 6 days. The first appointment, no one called. The second, someone called 3 hours earlier than arrival time and when arrived claimed no one was home (not true). The third and fourth appointments, I was told we cancelled (also not true). 5th appointment is scheduled. When I attempt to express my frustration regarding missed appointments, I get a representative (different each time) that says I will reschedule. They do not care that I have had problems with service people showing up. I am beyond frustrated! And, I am DONE with Sears Home Warranty.

This warranty is garbage. I initially needed a repair without a home warranty and called Sears. The technician who came lied to me twice but I still ordered a warranty because I didn’t have one and even tho that guy was a liar I thought Sears was a reputable company. However now that I need service, I can’t get an appointment! They outsource their customer service to another country and individuals who aren’t even sitting in the U.S. are not equipped with the resources to find a technician here. And they will lie and say you’ll get a call back same day but then you don’t. So, if you use Sears without a warranty, they will stand in your home and attempt to price gouge you. If you have a warranty (protecting you from the price gouging) they just won’t show up when you need them! Thank god it’s just a garage door and not my furnace! Sears is no longer a reliable company to do business with.

I have a 3 year old Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The compressor went bad. The part is covered under warranty, the labor is not. I was quoted $436.37 just for labor to install the compressor and 2 WEEKS! to get the part. The technician told me if they had to order the part overseas it would take even more time to get the part. I was told I had to decide right that moment because the part had to be ordered onsite. If I waited to discuss it with my wife and then decided later to move forward I would be charged another service fee because the technician would need to come out again to order the part. I called the Sears Home services number to ask if that was a normal fee and wait time and was transferred to 2 different people and on my way to the 3rd different person before I was tired of waiting and hung up. In my opinion, absolutely absurd.

My daughter has been paying for this "game"... for a long time, she has been having problems with her washing machine as it just runs water in the floor just like a "cascade", then she calls the company and they send this "serviceman" that says that if he does not see the water running he can't do anything... her flooring is being damaged because of this so there is nothing "Sears" can do without "seeing" the moment. I guess that guy should move to her house and wash the clothes until the moment happens... She've been visited by SHW 6 times since december 2019, There was one guy that said the rubber in the door should be replaced but as she called the wrong telephone number he can't do anything because she would have to pay for it... He was the one that really helped telling us there was another telephone number to call so it can be fixed, there is where this other guy wants to move in here to watch the moment the washer runs water... She will just stop this service that hasn't help her in any way

My refrigerator is covered by a sears home warranty appliance plan. I filed a claim to have a service technician fix a problem with the refrigerator and freezer - leaking, thawing, freezer door froze shut. Six months and 9 different technician visits later, I just spent another two hours on the phone being transferred from one number to another only to get an answer that they can send another technician out in three weeks. Meanwhile my freezer continues to periodically thaw and leak water all over my wood floor. It will then work for a week or two and this cycle continues. Each time I lose any food in the freezer. In addition to this, the extremely rude customer service supervisor that I finally talked to said that it is all their discretion if they can fix or replace the appliance. There is no guarantee of either. And there is no one to escalate this to and the only thing they can do is send another technician. When I inquired more, he said that they will keep sending technicians and have closed it out in their system saying it has been repaired. Which, it has not. I am extremely frustrated and feel that this business is not reputable. I would strongly encourage people to stay away from sears home warranty. Their claim of what good service and coverage means are misleading and not accurate based on my situation.

Called a week ago to report. My dishwasher was leaking again. Tech came out found the problem a vent seal was p leaking inside the door, this door was replace in 2017. Tech said he didn’t have the part, of course this is a given with sears home warranty, he did order the part which would not get here for another week. Tech came yesterday replaced the part in the door said dishwasher was ready to go paid the deductible. Later last night I load it up push the start button the locked light comes on and nothing else . It won’t start. Call them back it’s almost 10pm now and of course no one can help me had to call back this morning . Took three calls ,First I was told they couldn’t help because they didn’t Have the report from yesterday yet another person had just told me they did have it. I explained the problem again she put me on hold then told me someone would come out tomorrow between 8-12 . This has happened before it took almost a month to get it fixed the last time ..this is not an old dishwasher purchased in 2013! It never fails always have to wait another week to get a part. Same with the washer also purchased in 2013 sears used to have the best appliances not anymore. Im really thinking of changing warranty services after this dishwasher is fixed. I would not recommend sears to anyone.
