The “customer service” personnel do not hear their clients or callers. Soon after signing up, I changed my mind but was unable to get the company to cancel my policy. A year later, when I had a need, they had no service providers in my area (East Texas). I had to find my own repair company. The time the tech had to wait for a warranty coverage decision cost me an extra $125 for a claim that was denied because the part was not specifically mentioned in the covered list. Fast forward only a few months, I had another claim. I spoke to a manager who said he would ensure improved service. I got permission to preemptively purchase the part (again they had no service provider in my area). I directed, I called the manager directly when the tech had confirmed the need to the part to be installed. He was unavailable. To avoid the extra charge for the tech to wait or cone back, I had him do the work. Select denied my claim because they didn’t pre-approve the work. No concern in their part that they aren’t available to pre-approve work. No concern that the added cost of their unavailability is borne by the policyholder, Save your money for future repairs. These companies are a rip off. Always finding ways to deny rather than approve claims. Not only are you wasting money with Select, you are increasing your blood pressure and frustration.

The worst home warranty ever! Don’t waste your money. I have been having different home warranty companies. Select home warranty is the worst one I had! I had to replace a breaker, which is absolutely covered, they made me to pay for the labor plus the service fee. I had a plumbing issue which was denied all together. With the other companies, I just paid the service fee. They are absolutely worthless, the customer service is in Philippine and is very hard to understand . Horrible experience.

When we needed them, the fellow who called on us was absolutely terrific and he knew what he was doing. He was courteous and professional. We needed it on a dishwasher. The fellow came out on time and he checked the whole system in case it was an interior panel that was going bad. He did his job and above his job and was extremely professional and polite. They've done everything they promised to do.

They provide service on time to the company and I don't have any complaints about them. What I needed they actually provided me. They fulfilled what my needs were. One time it was my dishwasher, one was a breaker issue, and one time it was my washing machine. Whatever issue it is, they always fixed it for me. The customer service people are cooperative.

Select home warranty is by far the WORST home warranty company to deal with. Their primary purpose of existence is deny your claim. I have had several claims with them over the years and 1 of of 8 claims got resolved, they never cover A/C claims. They have the nerve to request 3 years of maintenance history for the A/C. If you're thinking about signing up with select, run the other direction.

We signed on with Select Home Warranty in August of 2023. We have since then tried 3 different times to have a tech come to our home. They have given us fake companies. The phone numbers do not work for the companies provided, the addresses for the companies are either an empty lot or they do not even have a business address. The phone numbers for these companies are fake, one says to text only and the other rings and goes no where not even a voicemail. In addition, they will tell you the technicians in your area are “tied up” and cannot service you. We were told to find our own people but after finding out they too are terrible with paying claims we avoided that as we know our tech would never get paid. I’d also make note that they have had multiple lawsuits since 2020 and they have not paid any of their judgments. Even their employees on LinkedIn are fraudulent. One profile on LinkedIn was using a woman’s picture from her Facebook but she has not ever worked for SHW and lives in TX. Very sketchy profile for the COO and the CEO is non existent. Even better, once googling the multiple locations for this business, most of locations are again lots, for rent or no sign of their company around. All of this to say, this is a SCAM, I am not even sure how they are still in business.

I purchased this warranty in Nov of 23. I never received a policy. When I needed to use it I only had my cc stmnt to verify the company and phone. I nerver received anything from SHW, I called on Sun 7/28 10:51am to have an A/C repaired. I got a recording saying No one was available and would be contacted within 24 hrs. I then contacted a repair man. I had guests in the condo and it was 97 degrees outside. The repair man repaired the unit. It needed a new blower motor. SHW called me at 11:28am telling me someoe was schedueled to come out on 7/31. I informed them I had already had the repair done. I was told to submit the receipt and it would be reviewed. I received a call today denying the claim. Reason; it had not been approved. No one was around to answer a call nor was I informed it needed to be approved as I had no policy and no one answered their 24 hr claim dept.

I was so happy that they took so much information from me over the phone so they can get it right the first time. Very happy with the service and will Definitely recommend to my friends and family.

This is the second year I've had Select Warranty. The first and second year both the reps were great! The first year the rep quoted me 1 extra month for free and he waived the 30 day waiting period. The problem being is they never send you any information on what you're getting! Had to use the warranty before 30 days and after many phone calls an arguments they came! This year ... they still haven't sent me anything saying what I get. I've left messages and the rep said he would send me the info! I have nothing stating he gave me 2 extra months for a lesser fee for fixing stuff . Getting ready to cancel if I don't get something in writing!

In general, I believe all home warranty companies, including Select Home Warranty, have clauses built into policies that a written in a way that makes it hard for consumers to know what is a "covered repair". These clauses are then used to disqualify a repair request. With respect to Select Home Warranty, I was particularly disappointed when I requested the company send a repair person to verify if the problem was what they told me would not be covered so I could at least get it fixed. I was told they do not send technicians to investigate uncovered repairs, but if I had another company fix the problem I could request reimbursement if they determined the problem to be covered by policy..

I only used them one time, but everybody seemed to be on the ball and a repair person was here quickly. I had an upstairs AC unit that wasn't working and they came and checked it out and thankfully it only turned out to be a thermostat issue.

They sold me the plan knowing that I live in the west and they do not provide coverage they don't provide true coverage for people on the west they only operate on east coast time and if you have a claim that you're trying to fill and you want to do it in the afternoon even if it's early afternoon you're going to, you have the strong possibility of running into a case for you can't get your claim approved and they're also not open on the weekends so it's incredibly difficult to get a claim approved and get service like this. Again their availability is really poor for people on the west and there aren't very clear about that when you sign up with them but they are friendly enough you know is there decent customer service.

The service is good. They got right back to me as soon as they could and got everything taken care of. It's a lot cheaper than going through a repairman and I'm on a fixed budget. I did have to have them come back when I had a circuit breaker problem because they didn't fix it complete but they did come back and redo and it's now working fine.

It is affordable. I did have some issues, but customer service was able to rectify them. They give you the contact information for the people that are supposed to be the contractors for the service so make sure they are really contracted and the first people they sent me, I called and they were not contracted and wanted me to pay for the service but they second people that were contracted did a great job.

Customer support is wonderful, every time I call in, the people know what they are doing and they get right back to you as soon as they can. To get our vacuum system fixed for just forty five dollars was impressive.

I was happy with them for the most part though when my washing machine went out, they got somebody out within a day or two but then denied my claim and never let me know but it all worked out. When I used them for some electrical, they guy came out the same day and it was great. It didn't transfer with me when I moved, it would have nice if it transferred but everybody was not on the same page when I moved.

I had to recall one claim and they were very professional and very quick. The furnace stopped working and when I called, they had somebody out here the next day and they opened it up and went through it and replaced the thermostat I believe. They preformed what they said they would do and when they said they would do it.

Our past situations, there have been some good ones and some bad ones. I didn't take the time to read my contract so I discovered that my air conditioning wasn't going to be covered. Though another time I called about it, they came and fixed it. The people are receptive and respond to me timely and were professional. I think the price is appropriate.

We were traveling and our AC broke. The very next morning I called and I think that afternoon it got looked at. The repair person called select warranty to get approval and replaced it and so we were back up and running by early evening that day service within twenty four hours everything was fixed. In Texas that makes a big difference.

They were able to send a plumber in a couple days when I called to report a problem. I think the customer service is excellent. They actually understand my problem quickly and try to give me a resolution as soon as possible. The contractors they hire have the same attention to detail. I do think they should give freedom to contractors for them to do their job instead of calling for approval.

I had home warranty policy from Select home warranty, and I recently requested a service to check on my home air conditioning. I was scheduled with a technician who seems to be an independent contractor. He scheduled a visit, but two days before the visit, he called and told me that he can come earlier if I pay in cash. Since I didn’t have cash with me that day, he refused to come. He came few days later and asked me to pay up front to look at the issue. After discussing the issue with Select home, the technician told me that the warrant doesn’t cover some aspect of the work, but he didn’t do anything else. The worst part is that I didn’t get any support from the customer service. When I decided to cancel the service, they wanted to help, and took a cancellation fee of $75 when I discontinued their service. Anyone looking for a home warranty service, run away from this company as they will not give you good service, but will take more money during the cancellation process.i would give them zero star if that was an option.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Select Home Warranty and feel compelled to share my ordeal to prevent others from falling into the same trap. Depreciated Value Reimbursement When one of my home appliances broke down, I was initially relieved to have a home warranty with Select Home Warranty. However, I quickly learned that their promises are far from reality. They refused to reimburse the full cost of fixing my broken appliance simply because it was considered old. Instead, they offered only the depreciated value, which was nowhere near the actual repair cost. This left me with a significant out-of-pocket expense. High Technician Fees Adding insult to injury, the technician they sent charged exorbitant fees. Despite these high fees, Select Home Warranty would not reimburse any part of the technician's charges. It felt like I was paying double: once for the service call and again for the repairs that weren't adequately covered by the warranty. I did not use their technician due to the high cost and paid for someone else which is a lot cheaper. Difficult Cancellation Process When I decided to cancel my service out of sheer frustration, the process was a nightmare. It took days of repeated calls to different representatives, each one giving me the runaround. This constant back-and-forth wasted my time and only added to my anger and frustration. Withheld Reimbursement To make matters worse, I had a reimbursement pending processing before I decided to cancel. Once I finally managed to cancel the policy, Select Home Warranty refused to process any reimbursements that were due to me before the cancellation. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a deliberate tactic to avoid paying out claims. Conclusion In summary, Select Home Warranty is a scam. They fail to provide the coverage they promise, their processes are convoluted and time-consuming, and they will go to great lengths to avoid reimbursing you. Do not use this company ever. Save yourself the headache and choose a more reliable home warranty provider.

Because the process of getting someone to fix something that is urgent is CRAZY! I had water coming thru my ceiling and they want you to wait 24-48 hours for them to find someone to fix it. If you call for service yourself, the amount of time you and your repair many have to be on the phone with them is nuts! They paid to have the plumber cut a hole in my wall to fix the leak, but wouldn't pay to have the wall repaired. When I asked them why, they said they don't pay for "access". They mistakenly paid for the plumber to cut the wall. WELL HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM??? I had a problem with my heating unit and they said since I couldn't give them 3 years of service records the limit I could get for heating and air repairs was $150. I got this warranty when I bought a new house. How am I expected to have 3 years of service records??? If you have an emergency situation and you pay for the repairs yourself, the time it takes to get reimbursed is about a month.

Right price for the services offered. Everything has always been resolved but depending on who you speak to in customer service, sometimes you get great responses or sometimes you don't. When I needed it for my water heater they came out and checked in replaced the thermostat.

It's more convenient if you have it. The few cases I have had, I got quick responses within forty eight hours and the technicians were quite knowledgeable. I think they could create an app or something for more easy access if you to report quickly, that is my suggestion on how they could improve.

I recently tried to process a claim and it took much longer then it should have. We had our washing machine break, they sent a tech out. The tech was great, he was very prompt and came out immediately and addressed my problems. It would have been 950-1000 dollars to fix it. We decided to buy a new one. It took a long time to get reimbursed for the new washer. It needs to be easier to process claim, nobody would follow up, I had to make all the phone calls.

I have experienced delays getting warranty work done because several contractors have refused to work with Select Homes Warranty company. Additionally, Select Homes Warranty didnt make clear what would be covered by my policies and there have bee several times were a claim was generated only to be notified after diagnosis that this problem would not be covered.

They are polite and prompt. I have a disagreement with them in the past, I actually forgot what is was but I am still with them. With me home apparently when it rains it pours, I'm glad they are there when needed.
