Choice Home Warranty Cost

Choice Home Warranty offers some of the most affordable prices in the industry:

  • Choice Home Warranty monthly cost: $45–$55
  • Choice Home Warranty annual cost: $530–$690
  • Add-on coverage cost: $40–$180

Your premium cost will be dependent on the coverage plan that you choose. If you add optional coverage to your plan, you will be charged an additional cost for each item. You can also opt to make one annual payment instead of a monthly payment, which could save you some money in the long run.

Most Choice Home Warranty plans have a flat service fee of $85 per claim, covering the cost of having a contractor/technician come to your home to diagnose and repair your broken appliance or system.

Choice Home Warranty offers the first month of service free with the purchase of any of its single-payment and one-year warranty plans. The company also runs frequent promotions that allow homeowners to win new kitchen appliances when they apply for a quote on a home warranty plan.

On BestCompany.com, Choice Home Warranty reviews* frequently mention plan pricing and 70 percent of those rate-specific reviews highlight how affordable and competitive the company’s prices are — many customers indicate that they chose Choice Home Warranty because of its low prices in comparison to other companies.

Customer Review: Keith from Snellville, Georgia

"I chose Choice Home Warranty because of the price and the amount of appliances they cover. It is definitely worth the money. The heater in the house went out and they scheduled a technician to come out early the next day to correct the situation."

Choice Home Warranty Plans

Choice Home Warranty offers extensive coverage similar to other top companies in the home warranty industry. Choice Home Warranty offers two coverage plan options:

  • Basic Warranty Plan — Covers basic home appliances, such as a water heater, a garage door opener, and a built-in dishwasher.
  • Total Warranty Plan — Covers all appliances in the Basic Plan, as well as additional major appliance and system options, such as air conditioner systems and refrigerators.
Covered Items Basic Plan Total Plan
Air conditioning
Heating system
Electrical system
Plumbing system/plumbing stoppage
Water heater
Whirlpool bathtub
Refrigerator
Oven/range/stove/cooktop
Dishwasher
Built-in microwave
Garbage disposal
Clothes washer and dryer
Ductwork
Garage door opener
Ceiling and exhaust fans

Conditions may apply, but either plan should cover most homeowner appliance or home system needs. It is also worth noting that Choice Home Warranty covers appliances and systems no matter the age, but they must be properly maintained and in good working condition.

Choice Home Warranty Optional Coverage

Choice Home Warranty offers a variety of optional coverage options which can be added to either the Basic Plan or Total Plan for an additional cost:

  • Pool/spa
  • Well pump
  • Sump pump
  • Central vacuum
  • Limited roof leak
  • Septic system
  • Second refrigerator
  • Stand alone freezer
  • Septic tank pumping

Choice Home Warranty Claims Process

The Choice Home Warranty claim process is as follows:

  1. Make a claim by phone or online through your customer portal account.
  2. Choice Home Warranty will begin contacting service providers upon receiving your claim. Within 48 hours you should receive the name and contact information of a contractor, as well as a confirmed appointment time.
  3. The contractor will come and perform the requested service. You will pay the $85 service fee.

If you need assistance beyond making a claim, Choice Home Warranty's call center is available 24/7. The company’s website also has a simple contact form that is easy to fill out and is sent to them immediately.

It is also worth noting that if an appliance or system breaks after a repair, you are guaranteed a free repair within 90 days of the original repair appointment.

No Home Inspection Required

Unlike some home warranty companies, Choice Home Warranty does not require customers to have their home inspected in order to obtain a contract, which enables a more seamless transaction process for those signing up for warranty plans.

This feature also allows customers to save money at the beginning by avoiding the cost of a home inspection.

Choice Home Warranty Customer Service

With many home warranty companies, the claims process is not very personable, and service requests are assigned to a clerk in a large department. However, customers who choose to purchase a Choice Home Warranty will work with a knowledgeable, dedicated team of two or three representatives that will service their covered home repair needs quickly and efficiently.

In addition to being thoroughly involved in the claim, Choice Home Warranty has representatives that are available to answer any questions that may arise. Anytime delays take place, Choice Home Warranty requires their technicians to immediately provide the customer with an estimated completion date. Customers will appreciate being kept in the loop about when the warranty service will be completed.

Customer Service: Melanie from San Antonio, Texas

"Choice Home Warranty is a better value than the home warranty company that I was previously with. They've been great. They have good customer service who answer your questions and help solve your problems. Anytime I've contacted them, they have satisfied me. I recently used the warranty because the ceiling fan in my living room quit working. When I contacted them online, they were right there saying a company was going to be coming over. That company never came so they dispatched another."

On BestCompany.com, Choice Home Warranty reviews* frequently mention customer service. Of these specific reviews, 63 percent of customers highlight good experiences with customer service, including timely response times and helpful reps.

On the other hand, 37 percent of reviews indicate poor customer service experiences.

Real Estate Agent Packages

Choice Home Warranty offers a number of coverage options specifically geared towards real estate agents. Because home warranties provide a valuable safeguard on the home's covered major systems and appliances, both buyers and sellers will receive peace of mind.

Additionally, including a home warranty with the purchase of a house provides a competitive edge that makes buying and selling homes more enjoyable. Choice Home Warranty also understands the addition of home warranty service has the opportunity to help close a deal, which ultimately has the opportunity to make the seller and the buyer more pleased with the settlement.

Transferable Service Contract

With Choice Home Warranty, coverage begins 30 days after enrollment and continues for 365 days from the start date. However, if a customer can provide proof of prior coverage through another warranty provider showing no lapse of warranty coverage, Choice Home Warranty will start new coverage as soon as the old warranty contract ends.

Any warranty contract can be renewed each year and is 100 percent transferable.

Choice Home Warranty Reviews

A majority of Choice Home Warranty reviews on BestCompany.com are positive. Praise in these reviews includes quick responses and fast repair services, good communication, reasonable pricing, and easy claims process.

Reviewers also rate companies when they leave reviews. The Choice Home Warranty rating on BestCompany.com is competitive with the average score for the home warranty industry.

These responses from Choice Home Warranty customers emphasize that the company is a trusted warranty provider.

The Bad

  • High Service Call Fee
  • Choice Home Warranty Coverage Limits
  • No Coverage for Pre-existing Conditions
  • Negative Choice Home Warranty Reviews

High Service Call Fee

Choice Home Warranty's service fee is $85 which is higher than the industry average fee of $75. However, Choice Home Warranty's service fee is a flat fee that won't change no matter the claim. Other home warranty companies may have a fluctuating service fee or different cost ranges based on the repair service that you order.

Choice Home Warranty Coverage Limits

The majority of appliances and systems covered by Choice Home Warranty have a $3,000 coverage cap, although there are some exceptions.

However, some systems have a lower cap of $500. The following systems fall into this category:

  • Ductwork
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical

If a service or repair exceeds either $3,000 or $500, depending on the appliance or system, you will be required to cover the remaining cost.

No Coverage for Pre-existing Conditions

Choice Home Warranty does not cover known or unknown pre-existing conditions for any covered appliances or systems. This isn't uncommon in the industry, but some home warranty companies do offer coverage for some pre-existing conditions.

Negative Choice Home Warranty Reviews

While a majority of Choice Home Warranty reviews on BestCompany.com are positive, a significant number are 1 star. Complaints include claims denial, trouble getting repairs completed, and delays with claims process and reimbursements.

It’s been 3.5 weeks with no AC. I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do and your rules just keep me without AC. The unit took a long time to come in. Once it was in it was damaged. I was told to wait 24-48 hours and someone would call me. No one called. You should have just had the damn thing overnighted to me but nope here I sit in Texas with no AC. You’re definitely not customer first at all. I complained to the rep and they said they are the highest there. They can’t do anything. I went online and filled out contact info and still no call. I’ve paid until 2026 and I’m sorry I did.

You guys are terrible as a company. I am starting to believe others, friends, neighbors, and loved ones that Choice Home Warranty is a scam, a horrible company. to be a customer with and that you scam and lie to get out of covering what is stated in your policy. Well I have to believe them. I had your company send someone to my home when I made complaints about the furnace/ac unit not working properly and the heat not heating the upstairs properly. Your company sent someone in an unmarked vehicle that only had a screwdriver with him. He looked at the unit and found minor things that a 2nd grader would find. When I call is company back to find out the findings they answered as a house cleaning company. A HOUSE CLEANING COMPANY! Yes you read that right that it was A HOUSE CLEANING COMPANY! I had 3 different HVAC companies and each one said that there was an issue with my system and with my duct work. I had to hire a company to repair, replace and install new duct work, vents and returns. This is coming out of my pockets, I am going to contact my lawyers and take legal actions against your company. I will show them my policy, what is supposed to be covered under the policy that I am paying for each year. You pulled a scam and now you are costing me more money. I am disabled and may even contact the American Disability Act to tell them what you are pulling on disabled people and most like senior citizens. would don't know better and trusted your company.

I have paid for my policy for almost 2 years or more. I went with Chioce because you covered Hot Tubs. First, the first company never showed up for the appointment and stated they had let the Choice know many times they don't service hot tubs. The second company came out once, but never returned calls and never came out. The third and latest, Gimenez Pool Services, came out and said they can't work on it until it is determined if the issue is in the breaker or the spa. I contacted an electrician to check that and he did a full diagnostic on the spa. He told Gimenez what was needed, but I still had to pay Gimenez the $85 when someone else (that I also had to pay) did the diagnostic. And now you're telling me the thing isn't covered!?!? What the heck!! I will be canceling my contract pronto.

Customer Service is terrible. Took 4 months to fix my refrigerator. Replaced a water heater at full price when I could have had it done sooner by contacting a local service and having them do the work. Your Company has gone from good to terrible. No willingness to help the Customer. I would not recommend to anyone and will not renew my contract. On top of that, if you talk to Customer Service, you get the run around when trying to talk to a Manager, there is no one available and on top of that no return calls, no follow up. The only thing you guys care about is signing up a Customer for a new contact and then you do nothing to honor your contract. Worst program ever. I know I won’t hear from anyone, but whoever manages your Sales and Customer Service should get involved and rebuild your reputation or be fired!!!

1.The service was slow (take some time to find the right contractor) and we forced to pay twice we were supposed to pay due to that. 2.They are only responsible for the builder's grade parts. Therefore you will see your systems are downgrading. 3.Their response system automatically and by default passes the job and the follow up to your side as far as it can. 4.You need to follow up yourself, otherwise not enough care is offered. BYW, I experienced that in some occasions they respond by phone promptly, which was a good sign but not enough. One must expect that CHW resolve the problem with slowness and to the minimum.

I terminated Choice Home Warranty because of (1) terrible customer service, (2) failure of CHW to live up to the specific terms of the contract, (3) its attempts to force acceptance of completely inadequate reimbursement.

I was told if we CHOICe hace to send a second tech because sears has failed , the service fee would be WAIVED well really since I had already paid for a call why would I pay for a second call and nothing had been fixed.

I spent two months in the middle of Texas summer without air conditioning. Choice kept making excuses not to cover the unit for so long that I ended up replacing EVERYTHING on my own. Cost me a small fortune Very poor level of customer service. I was calling in almost every day to get the latest excuse. I will always believe that Choicc owes me a lot of money and an apology to me and my wife for living through 105 degrees every day without air conditioning. Impossible to reach supervisor also. I could go on and on about what Choice put me through, but I am trying to get over it

Every time I have a claim it takes about a month to get it fixed by the time you find a technician and they come to look at it and then have to come back because they don’t have the part needed with them. We are still waiting to get our dryer fixed because the technician hasn’t come back to fix it after they didn’t have the part. We had to pay to get our AC fixed last summer ourselves because we weren’t going without it for a month when it was 100 degrees outside.

They do a great job selling their warranty service and fail miserably at finding contractors and providing the necessary work approvals when the work is finally close to being completed. I have spent way too much time arguing with them about providing service. I would not recommend Choice and cannot wait until my contract expires so I can return to my previous warranty company.

The company is pathetic. I've been denied a couple claims already. The latest is a simple straightforward request to repair a ceiling fan/wiring issue (the unit just stopped working) I asked for about mid-December. They asked us, MANY times, to replace the remote; the electrician and I told them over and over the remote was working. When they finally were convinced, they then denied the claim for another stupid reason that didn't make sense. This is weeks into the process, now. I appealed and the officer okayed payment for about 1/3 of the estimated cost. HOWEVER, the electrician won't move forward with my job UNTIL he's paid by Choice got at least 2 other jobs he's had with them, completed since early January! THEY just wont pay him. They told him about 1 1/2 weeks ago he'd be "paid by Friday". That was over a week ago and nothing. In the meantime, my project isn't done. He and I have both contacted them MULTIPLE times. Everyone blames the Vendor Group who handles payment, and it's nearly impossible to talk to a live person there. The appeals officer has been nice BUT he still hasn't move anything forward. Disgusting. I will NEVER, EVER recommend this company. DON'T PURCHASE A HOME WARRANTY FROM CHOICE!

My light fixture is still not fixed. Electrician first showed up on January 22 and diagnosed the problem as a bad transformer. Choice approved the repair and electrician ordered the part and returned January 30 to replace the transformer but it was the wrong size. Electrician reordered the correct size and returned on February 6 to install the new part. The new transformer did not fix the problem and the electrician determined the problem was the light socket which requires replacement of the entire light fixture. Electrician said he needed to obtain approval from Choice to replace the light fixture. Contacted the Electrician on February 14 for an update and was told he was still awaiting approval from Choice.

I am new to Choice HW after being frustrated with American Home Shield. Unfortunately, my experience is worse. I called about my oven and a technician came a a couple of days later on January 29th and said it needed a new igniter. However, the appointment for fixing the oven was set at February 9th, almost two weeks later. After a long wait, Zach's Appliance Repair in Oceanside was supposed to come between 11 and 3 PM. I tried to get an earlier appointment but was met with no call backs and full email boxes. On the day of the appointment, no one showed all day long. Attempts to let Zach's know by phone, text and email were in vain. Now two more working days later (February 13) no one has yet called to explain their absence or set up a new appointment. To boot, I had to pay $85 for the upcoming service in advance but nothing has been done. I truly do not understand why the service is so awful. I don't know if this complaint will be quickly heard by CHoice, so I plan on calling them tomorrow.

The day I claimed my claim was 3 weeks ago. Today is 3 weeks, and still, they are just going back and forth between them and the technician who is supposed to fix the problem. There is a group that authorizes the technician to go ahead and fix the problem. That group doesn't authorize the work. The whole process is very bad. They are allocated technicians, but the technician doesn't have a permit to fix the problem. He has to do every step of the areas to get permission from them. To cut the hole in the wall, they get permission from them. How do you diagnose the problem? There's a leak behind the wall, you cut the hole in the wall to see the leak, right? They were, but they didn't have permission to cut it.

This company in my opinion is beyond shady. They fraudulently took one payment out of my account, let me explain. I was looking for a new home warranty plan. I am currently with American Home Shield and their prices have gone up across the board. I was online looking and I got a call from Choice. I was in the process of signing up and my payment would not go through so I cancelled and hung up. Two days later I looked at my bank and he, the representative, had apparently saved my debit card information and charged my card anyway even though I told him to cancel. He tried to call me back many times and was working and could not answer. I am beyond furious and when I called for a solution, their solution was one free month and a $5 per month discount. This was of course not enough for me since they had already committed fraud on me. PLEASE, PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. In my opinion they are beyond shady. One free month is nothing since it cannot even be used for 30 days. I simply cannot get over this. I have never had this happen to me before with a company supposedly so highly rated.

We've had two claims in the last couple of years. The last one was great, but the one before that was, okay, but it wasn't what I expected. Our refrigerator went out and they came in and gave me a price for it. It was a $2,200 refrigerator. And they gave me a price of beginning like $900 to replace it. So I got them up to $1,100. And then I waited 30 days to get it because they don't just give you. They wait 30 days for some reason. I had another claim that was great. They came out here they fixed the problem. I paid my $65. Everything was great.

Not the best customer service. I had spent 3 $85 deductibles in a 45 day period on a dishwasher repair and still not completed. The review board said they will now give me $246 towards a new dishwasher. However, I spent $255 in deductibles. This should have been said from the 1st repair attempt. I told the review board to keep their $246, Service is more important than the money. I will be moving on from their future services.

Choice was not able to get a technician for two weeks I had to get someone out there after two weeks pay out of pocket and now wait for Choice to reimburse me. On top of that I still have a plumbing claim going on a month now and Choice can’t seem to get anyone out there Still waiting on that. Not happy to have paid for the premium package 3 year plan. They've never fulfilled their warranty agreement. They've been hard to reach. They haven't replaced the appliances according to their guarantee, if appliance is needed to be replaced, was supposed to be of like type and quality. They haven't done that, they haven't done it in a timely manner. They've been extremely difficult to deal with. They have supposedly been taken off of the Nevada Secretary of State's lists of companies even acceptable to do business in the state of Nevada. And they continue doing business in the state of Nevada when they're not even registered.

Choice Warranty will not replace an appliance like the one you have if they cannot repair it. They will only give you a low cash offer which they call in lieu of replacement . The customer has to take this cash offer only because Choice Warranty will not replace appliance with the same appliance. This is false advertising on their part which is why I will not renew my current warranty with them.

Now I have heat and just PAID THE $600.00 BILL MYSELF!!!! $125.00 Labor and $475.00 FOR THE PART. NO COVERAGE OR PAYMENT FROM CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!!!!! BETTER TO FIND MY OWN TECHNICIAN, THAN HAVE MY WHOLE FAMILY FREEZE!!!! I had spent over $2,500.00 for coverage by CHW no response to emails or calls. WILL NEVER USE CHW AGAIN;; HOPE AND PRAY NO-ONE ELSE DOES EITHER!!!!! TOTAL RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our recent service was not what we expected- the gentleman that came to fix our microwave was very nice! He indicated that a part needed to be ordered (simple solution to fix the control that you press for selection of minutes etc) our unit is a double appliance, microwave on top, oven on bottom. kitchen aid -high end unit- Choice wanted to replace whole unit or give us gift card $600 for Lowe’s ?!?! Our unit is 3 to 4 thousand! They wanted cheap solution- unacceptable!!! Ridiculous! We just needed a “part”. - sent over to case mgr. Just given a “take it or leave it “ answer. Bad customer service! Last year had similar situation with dishwasher- needed repair - said report didn’t say problem “due to wear and tear” therefore would not repair cause of wording( we ended up having to buy a new one out of our own pocket! So sorry years ago we bought a 4 yr contract with choice- be glad when it’s over!

When I reported a problem with my shower diverter, Choice agreed only to pay for a contractor grade diverter; this would have made my four part shower/bath component group look terrible, since the parts would not match. After much dialogue and explanation of the problem, Choice offered no other option. Additionally, when the plumber indicated that he had to replace the water pipe connection to put in the new part--and have it work, Choice would not pay him. This means that although Choice warranteed the part, they would not repair it in its entirety. I was very dissatisfied with this service and had to pay--out of pocket--for the majority of the repair. In another small job, Choice hired a felon as a handy-man who fraudulently cashed my check twice--and for hundreds of dollars over the visit fee. They would not reimburse me for the latter stolen money. On other repairs, I have gotten good service and prompt support from Choice.

This was the worst home warranty company EVER. They would literally send anyone out no matter their experience level. I had someone come to my home smelling of marijuana, I had someone lie and say they fixed something that they didn’t. I was double charged. The appliances in my home are on the higher end some of the techs just weren’t familiar and the time choice did a pay out it wasn’t even enough to pay shipping for the appliance I needed to replace. I had a pool tech come out, he was great. Other than that NOOOOOO DO NOT DO IT. Not to mention it took weeeeks in the middle of summer for them to have someone come out to address my air and I was pregnant. It was unbearable. When someone finally came out they said it was one thing wrong… then came out again and said it was something else. Oh and I had a guy hang up on me because he was late and when I asked what time he would be there he couldn’t handle it and had the worst attitude in the world. I have that one recorded. I really wish I could list my phone number and just go over every reason you shouldn’t pick this company but I can’t. Just take my word for it please!!! American home shield was better but my new home is over 10k square feet so they couldn’t cover it.

I am a Property Manager for several properties. My owners are out of California and I have worked with them quite a while. They have 100% faith in anything I recommend. Our experience with Choice Home Warranty this year, has been horrible. It's interesting, how different it is, to speak with the "Sales" people, that sell the policies as opposed to the representatives that handle the claims. The majority of the claims were denied and those representatives did nothing to try and help or process a claim. It's extremely obvious, Choice Home Warranty trains the representatives that process claims, to do whatever is possible to make sure a claim is denied. I've worked with Home Warranty Companies for over 15 years, I've never had claims denied, until this year, with Choice Home Warranty. Choice "sells" their policies by offering lower prices than most other Home Warranty companies/policies. I would advise people to know, why the Choice Home Warrany policies are cheaper. It's because they don't intend on processing most claims, they plan to deny as many as possible.

The amount of time it takes just to get a service technician out is ridiculous. Combine that with Choice Home Warranty's AWFUL customer service and their poor communication (twice now they've said a technician was scheduled only for me to find out the day of the appointment that no tech was actually scheduled), and this has been a hugely frustrating experience. I'm currently over two weeks into having a non-functioning kitchen faucet because CHW failed on the first appointment scheduling, had a tech come out to confirm the faucet needs replacing, and I'm still currently waiting for the tech to come back for the actual work to get done.

The appointment was 11-3pm, the tech arrived at 9pm. The diagnosis and feedback from Choice said the AC was to be fixed. Based on the diagnosis and age of the system, I agreed that the leak warranted an AC repair, either by replacing the air handler with a certified used or a type of patch that could be done with the coolant drained already. Instead, I waited all day and lost a day of work for a tech to simply refill the coolant without fixing the known leak. The previous fill lasted 3.2 months, so this will be an ongoing expense for Choice, why not make the fix more permanent? The system was installed in 2014, it's 10 years old.

Claim was filed. Rep stated it needed to be broken up into 3 claims so she canceled mine and submitted 3 separate claims. All 3 were approved. Company assigned the wrong type of technician to a claim which was 4 days after the emergency (sewage) was reported. Customer Service Rep stated I could get repair done and would be reimbursed because they had problems finding a service tech in a timely manner. I did so and the company refused to reimburse me stating "you did not follow the rules . You did not submit a claim, a claim was not approved, the repair person did not call us prior to fixing your problem therefore it is not covered." So my original claims were all APPROVED, but because the rep resubmitted, sent wrong person, canceled that claim and never entered another one to cover my emergency I was left with a bill in excess of $900 vs $75 service call fee. I requested over 5 times to speak with a person in management and have not been contacted.Deceitful, irresponsible and poor customer service. If you make a mistake own it, learn from it and move forward.

Water Heater stopped working so called choice to schedule a technician to come out. Choice sent out a technician who was approved by choice to swap out electrical breakers. The technician did it incorrectly and it caused an electrical panel fire to occur a few days later which could have killed my family and myself if I hadn't smelled the burning wires and ran into the garage to check. Called choice to have a new technician come out and fix, choice denied the claim saying they do not fix overloaded breakers even though they were the ones who sent the initial technician. I had to pay out of pocket $2500 for an electrician to come and replace the entire electrical panel.

Was misled from start, a scam in my opinion. Will not cover 100% if repair. Took 5 days and still no service call and I had to get someone out here and they did not pay difference of service fee plus they called it a reimbursement when they could not honor the 24-48 hour guarantee in contract. Will be cancelling after I receive my reimbursement check just to pay cost of a water heater replacement. Their so called hidden replacement cost guide that they pay for appliance repairs or replacement is not available to us to see...bunch of BS and finally their Customer service personnel can can't speak english well enough to understand, had to get to a case manager before I could clearly communicate with them. Took 5 days for them to get a tech iut for sump pump failure disregarding the water in my basement and would not allow me to get a local company out quickly or I would have ti pay the total cost.... Beware of this company total scam artists

Very slow and disorganized to resolve the claim on my front loader washer. Took a month to determine approval of a replacement. They were disingenuous when they sent an email offering the choice of a Lowe’s gift card for $547 or a replacement by Choice which could take longer than if I took the low value gift card and handled the replacement myself. When I searched the internet for prices of front loader washers, I determined that none of the leading manufacturers sold any of their appliances for less than $698 so I denied the gift card and asked to be assigned to a representative. I called the assigned claims representative to discuss Choice doing the replacement and was told that wasn’t really an option although that is how it is advertised because they don’t order or ship washers. I was told my only option was the $547 which wouldn’t cover a replacement. I asked how this was calculated based on my search. The representative said it was their wholesale cost which didn’t make sense since she just told me they don’t buy washers to satisfy claims. I told her that a bogus wholesale calculation wasn’t going to help me as a consumer paying retail. At the end, they wouldn’t listen to reason and only agreed to send a check instead of a gift card for $547. That would take another 30 days. Being without a washer for 60 days isn’t customer service . I filed a complaint with the BBB and will now have to buy a washer at retail out of pocket. Buyer Beware!

We are in our fifth week without our HVAC. It is so cold. It already was having problems with the cooling the last couple months of summer. They sent a tech he got it to run for two days. He said the unit needed replaced. We paid him his fee. They sent him again. Again he got it running. He told us to run it for 4-5 hours, then turn it off for 2 hours-repeat. He said that might last until he could get the claim through to replace the unit. We didn’t hear anything. Then the HVAC quit completely. They kept saying the tech did not get back to them. One rep said they were reassigning the ticket; they did not. After calling for several days, did finally reassign it. The new tech finally got. He told us the HVAC should have been shut down. It could have caught fire or exploded. He said the HVAC needed replaced; it was 30 years old. (The house is 22 years old). They were to come out today but canceled-weather. I called Choice Home Warranty. They said they could not do anything; I would have to go online to reschedule. Once online it wants you to agree to pay a $139 diagnostic fee. I’ve already paid two fees. It has been below freezing so much during this time. We have had snow. It is going down in the single digits tonight. We have bought 4space heaters to try to keep the temperature in the house above 60°. I filed complaints with the BBB, the FTC, the New Jersey Consumer Department and the Tennessee Consumer Department. We are at a loss. We are old (70 & 92) and we are cold.

Dislike them consistently denying covered repairs using any excuses they possibly can! You might as well not have coverage if you go with Choice. They are absolutely good for nothing!

I deeply regret buying this policy. They gave me a discount for 3 years on two of my homes. And I tried to get out of it. They won't let me out of it. So I'm sunk. And of course, I have no confidence in their ability to actually pay a claim. I think they are a bunch of frauds. I've made four claims and they have not honored any of them.

Not impressed. Their selling pitch didn't match the actual policy when all was said and done. Lost more than gained. Would not recommend. Be thorough with questions and detailed when applying, especially in plumbing and heating issues. Would not recommend this company. The last rep sent to my house was a scammer. BE AWARE!
