Went online to CHW claims page, answered the questions. Repair dude called to confirm, showed up, checked it out, ordered parts and put it back so it was as good as it was when he started. All in a few hours. Easy peasy!

My washing machine broke, but the parts to fix it cost more than they wanted to pay. They offered to just buy me another new one. Great, I thought. My washer cost me over $800, and they offered me a Lowes gift card to get a new one. They told me that the value of the gift card would be $343. I called and complained because you can't even buy a similar washer for twice that amount. One of the managers finally called me and after complaining to her, she told me that all they will do is $497. She would not budge off of that number. So if I am going to get the same or a similar washer, I will have to fork out $200 - $300 for a washer with the same features. Needless to say I am not happy.

Needs physical help getting around at night. Seems as a choice employee she didn't care that problem could lead to a medical emergency Over all tech service was outstanding

Where to start... Let's go with the AC units. I have two units for my house and the first one broke down in the summer of 2017 (Phoenix, AZ). Choice did not cover the unit despite AC being in the contract. Come July 2019, my second unit broke down. This time their claim was that there was dirt around the unit. Last time I checked most AC units are located outside of the home where they are exposed to the elements. At this point I knew they were making something up so they wouldn't cover the unit. After about a week of back and forth mickey mouse games they finally denied my claim and gave me a $300 check as a courtesy. When all is said and done the unit cost $6,000 to replace. That covered 5% of that. Is that courteous? I would say more like unscrupulous. Fast Forward to earlier this year where I had a clog in the main plumbing drain. They sent some buffoon who took my service fee and told Choice that I did not have ground level cleanouts. (Choice will only cover main plumbing issues when ground level cleanouts are accessible). As a result Choice denied my claim because of this incorrect analysis. I hired a competent plumber who was able to find the ground level cleanouts and perform the work. It cost me just under $400. I came back with this to Choice and asked that they reimburse me for the work. The first representative heard my story and agreed that Choice should reimburse me for the misdiagnosis. A few days went by and another representative was put on the case to replace the first representative. This time they sang a different tune and declined my claim without giving me reason. If I could give this company no stars I would. Before you sign up for this home warranty, you need to ask yourself if you like getting ripped off. If the answer is no, then avoid these shysters like the Covid.

Had to pay for 2 service calls on the same appliance because the tech that they sent out didn’t communicate with CHW and I was not aware that if after 30 days the claim is not completed, it will close. The tech was out multiple times. So why am I being penalized when their tech & their communication is severely lacking? I will not recommend CHW to anyone. My realtor and also, good friend had potential customers as she was getting ready to close and was looking for a home warranty. She said she will make sure not to suggest CHW especially if they cannot come through and reimburse the 2nd service call. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Hello Choice Home, I really appreciate the care and concern for welcoming new Customers. However, representative do not have the right to call my phone number and use tactics such as addressing the potential customer by his or her first name! It’s rude and very unwelcoming, especially when you’re selling a service!

My experience has been very poor. I had to use twice. In both situations, my issues were not solved. In the first time (Oct 2021), I was asked to reschedule 7 times. Then, I gave up waiting and chose an independent service provider, paying for it. In the 2nd time, this week, the service provider identified the issue, but was not able to fix it because of the need of a professional water/air pressure needed to unclog the pipes. But Choice said it would not pay for it. So, Unfortunately, I am not satisfied at all, and already decided to switch to another Home Maintenance company. And I will not be an advocate for Choice for friends and colleagues unfortunately. Good luck, LOT to improve in Customer Service.

I bought my home August 2022. Inspection report advised condenser should be cleaned because the drain pan was rusted. I submitted an invoice for this cleaning August 2022. September 2022, my evaporator coil broke & my AC wouldnt cool. 9.5.22 I submitted a claim because this is a very expensive fix. Everyday they asked for more information, which took a day to get another tech to come back, a day to review, and another day to get in touch for an answer. Everytime this happened, they asked for another item. I had to harass my HVAC tech they sent to write a letter saying a drain pan was rusted and it wasn't the problem of why the coil broke. I ended up spending $300 for each tech to come out, $220 for a NEW DRAIN PAIN? And I'm on day 11 waiting to get my claim approved. It's 95 degrees where I live in Texas. Both techs that were sent stated, I'm not sure why the warranty company needs you to get a new drain pan when it has nothing to do with the coil broken. 11 days. No AC. Why did I pay $500 to a warranty company that won't help me when a part to my AC breaks 30 days after I purchased my home built 6 years ago?

I only give 1 star because I can’t give less. We submitted a claim in July for our air conditioning unit and it still isn’t fixed. The communication is terrible! They failed to get back to us with questions we had, and then they told us our claim expired!!! We reopened it and have yet to get resolution. They keep making excuses that it is summer and everyone is busy. It is now September; I don’t believe the HVAC people are that busy! I think they don’t want to pay the technicians and no one wants to work with them. Avoid this company! We have a 2 year home warranty we purchased with them; I am so disappointed by the service we have received so far. Our case manager is terrible; she never responds. I wish we would chosen another company.

I am not satisfied with the outcome of this claim, process, or experience. I put in a claim back in June and CHW couldn't get a tech out to resolve the matter for a week plus. I had to get my property management company to fix the AC by adding coolant and adding a diagnosis, I was told a receipt and diagnosis wouldn't work and I needed pictures. Now after waiting the entirety of August to get CHW to assign a technician. I'm told by HMB (the technicians) that all they can do is add coolant and make a diagnosis before they can fix the issue as they know what is wrong but CHW will not give permission to fix it. Not sure why I've been given the run around through this process but I will encourage everyone I know not to do business with CHW, I'm very dissatisfied with this company and how I've been treated. When I reach them I get canned responses on answers which are targeted to one issue and not the overall problem. This has been the worst experience and I advise you to stay away, nothing is going to change the way I feel, or what I or experienced with CHW and its service providers through this entire process, spanning two claims and three and a half months.

My overall experience has been less than mediocre. When they say they replace an appliance, they mean at wholesale prices, which does NOT cover a new appliance price. Many repairmen say they hate working with warranty companies and this is evident when Choice can not find someone to come out. We have to find our own repairman & pay out of pocket. They worst part is you have to get approval to do the repair BEFORE the repair is done, which the repairman has to return!!

I was basically a guaranteed customer, was a customer 10 years ago when I was a home owner, but the sales agent in the phone with me drove me nuts. He was reading a script trying to “save me money” by spending $2100 vs $525 per year. When I would try to interrupt him to day no, stop trying to do this, he wouldn’t listen. Then I finally said to charge my CC for the $525, all of a sudden it became 4 payments in 4 months of $525. I finally told him to cancel this policy and return my money asap. Took him another 15 minutes to stop taking and refund me. Think I’m going to go with another warranty company now.

If you call 2 times on the same subject, you WILL get 2 completely different answers. I was given misinformation from them that caused them to deny me of over $800 for reimbursement for my pool pump (which is covered) and even though they know it’s their fault, they refuse to reimburse any of it. They have no service providers for pool/spa so definitely don’t waste your money on that. Their plumbers are either incompetent or just no call/no show you. That cost me another $100+ for a leak that should’ve been covered. I had to call over 2 dozen times and some of the reps are extremely and unbelievably rude and unprofessional. This is not my first home or my first home warranty plan. This has been a year I regret and I wish I could have a do over in home warranty choice. Should be called “Bad Choice Home Warranty”.

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!! - unless you want to WASTE your money and triple your stress level. I signed up with Choice Home Warranty after 2 years with American Home Shield. 6 weeks into my 6 year contract with CHW - a compressor on my 17 year old AC unit failed. Initially CHW told me it failed due to a power surge. I had to appeal 2 times to supervisors but finally proved to them my house had a whole home surge protector installed - and it was impossible it failed due to a power surge. Throughout this process, no one knew what page anyone else was on and without question - the poor quality of employees was highly evident. After a 3rd appeal - they told me it failed due to normal wear and tear and that the contract does not cover pre-existing conditions. Choice Home Warranty is THE WORST service company I have ever encountered - even worse than HughesNet Satelite (who could have thought that was even possible). I am cancelling Choice and returning to American Home Shield - who NEVER told me something failed due to normal wear and tear and would not be covered.

I had my first claim experience with this company and it related to an over the range microwave. This microwave was a nonstandard 36" system over a 36" range, not your typical 30" system over a 30" range. It was deemed unrepairable and instead of repairing or replacing, Choice invoked their 'gift card clause' that is in their contracts and it would only give me $190 Lowes gift card to use towards replacement, when the model that died is an over $600 model. I requested a phone call, and when I got the call the rep was sympathetic but insisted that $190 was all they could offer based on their system review of the features, and that I 'agreed to the contract stating they would offer $ at their cost to replace, which may be less than what it costs the consumer to replace.'. I asked to escalate again to a manager because I did not feel their computers were taking into account that this was a non-standard model that was more expensive, but was told that she was the 'escalation.' I the end I've been forced to accept the $190 gift card to Lowe's (that will come in 1 month or less, which is another joke if you are trying to replace something NOW). Totally unimpressed with this experience and feel like what they market to get you to buy is world's apart from the real experience. Right now I'd say this company's goal is to screw the consumer as much as they can get away with.

I have had this warranty coverage for a couple of years. The only reason that I left Amazon was that the sales guy was very adamant about our air conditioner being covered by this warranty. Now I find that my claim was denied stating the reason for corrosion and being plugged. First off, the unit is 20 years old. Even an automobile will rust after 20 years! I went to the BBB website (which I should have done before signing with you) and found that SEVERAL people are having issues with you fulfilling warranty replacements. The only reason that I gave one star was that the person that I talked to was polite and the technician was professional and polite. I will go through the "case manager" route for resolution, but I am also prepared to go further to seek resolution.

I have had choice warranty for more than two years now and the circuit breaker of my master bedroom tripped and I have no power to the room. A tech was assigned who came and checked the wall units and said this will be a long job as he has to check where the short circuit was. He informed me that Choice Warranty will most likely reject this claim as it would take a few hours. And just as he said, I got an email that the claim was being rejected as this was ‘Not normal wear and tear’. I think that is a ridiculous and a easy way to take responsibility for the repairs. There apparently is a short circuit and since I have valid warranty, it should be covered. This sort of ridiculous language and irresponsibility is why you guys have such bad reputations. I’m actually considering discontinuing my warranty simply cos it doesn’t make sense anymore. Why have warranty when you guys are going to find ways to reject claims?! Totally frustrating!

JUST CHECK BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!! Don't waste your time!!! I signed up for choice home warranty over a year ago and everything was great in the beginning. I signed up for the 5 year plan and all was well. The first year they were on point, always getting back to me and getting the job done. Now I don't know what is going on there. My shower faucet needed to be changed and I called choice, they sent someone who took my set fee of $65 and said home warranty won't cover it. I figured it was my first problem with the company so I let it go. Then my water heater started leaking, I called choice home warranty and they sent someone out. I paid the $65 just to be told they don't have the part needed to fix my water heater and there would be a delay in getting it. I spoke with choice and they told me to get a plumber on my own and they'd reimburse me. The total was $350. This was almost 8 months ago and they still haven't paid me back. Everytime I call I am sent from person to person. I have been told a bunch of times that they sent the check out but it's been returned. Now I don't know much about USPS but come on!!! 2 times I have verified my address with them. Numerous times they have told me" we sent your check out, it should be there in 2-4 weeks." I have been treated like crap from their "manager." Nothing but the run around from these people. Don't waste your time with these thieves!!!!

The technicians aren’t all vetted by Choice, they use a giant pool of companies. This means that any fly by night can come to your house, or in my case turn in a claim without even coming. Also, Choice has to give approval for every little part of each repair. This means that the tech has to come out multiple times for a repair and you het to take off work and wait all day each time for them to show up. My next appt. Has a 9a.m.-8 p.m. window when they will show up. I think an 12 hr. Window is ridiculous! BEWARE OF THE FINE PRINT AND LOOPHOLES & exclusions of repairs. On air conditioning work, they won’t cover FREON which is necessary for most ac work. It will cost you out of pocket around $500 for Freon. Nor will they pay for any part that uses r22 Freon on older systems. They force you to replace your entire system by saying it’s a state requirement and you get to pay out of pocket. Shame on you Choice! They also only communicate through email and tell you when the appointment day and time is at. You never get a choice. It’s chosen for you! Bad bad customer service! Choice sucks and I’m a first time customer and this will be my last. My repair has been a nightmare., has been going on for a month now and nothing is fixed. Not happy about living with no air conditioning in these record breaking temps!! DON’T USE THIS COMPANY EVER!
