Based in Rockport, Maine, Seacoast Security is a family-owned business that’s provided residential and commercial security solutions in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont for over 45 years.

Unlike many alarm and security companies, Seacoast operates its own 24-hour monitoring facility in Rockport. The company offers a wide range of alarm systems, remote and wireless systems, motion-detector technologies, and video technologies.

The Good

  • Affordable Pricing Option
  • Compatible with Home Automation Products
  • Professional Monitoring Services
  • SeaNet Mesh Radio System

Affordable Pricing Option

Seacoast Security offers three pricing packages with the first starting at $199. Each plan includes the following equipment:

  • LYNX Touch wireless control panel
  • 3 door/window transmitters
  • 1 wireless keyfob
  • 1 wireless motion detector

The prices increase steeply as the other packages offer more robust services. However, the basic package provides the necessary elements to secure and monitor your home. It’s a great choice for anyone on a tight budget.

Compatible with Home Automation Products

Seacoast Security’s systems are compatible with home automation products. However, the website provides very little information on what third-party products (if any) its systems are compatible with. The site encourages potential customers to contact the company for more information about setting up a home automation system.

Professional Monitoring Services

Seacoast Security operates its own monitoring station. This is a huge benefit for customers. Most home security companies will partner with a monitoring company to provide their professional monitoring services. This can be very confusing for customers as they often don’t realize they’re working with multiple companies.

Seacoast Security customers don’t have to worry about calling the right company to get the help they need. The company’s monitoring center is based in Rockport, Maine and its dispatch team is directly connected to the communities it serves.

The only downside to this service is that Seacoast Security’s monthly monitoring fees are higher than the industry average, ranging between $33.95 and $44.95 depending on your security package.

SeaNet Mesh Radio System

In addition to traditional landline, wireless, and cellular monitoring, Seacoast Security uses a mesh radio system to monitor security systems. The benefits of this system include the following:

  • Alarm signals that are received in 2–4 seconds.
  • Operates even when landlines, internet, and cell signals are down.
  • The system doesn’t interfere with your phone use.
  • There are no network upgrades. It is virtually maintenance-free.

However, the SeaNet Mesh Radio System is not available with Seacoast Security’s basic package. If you’re interested in this monitoring system, you will need to pay for a more expensive security package.

The Bad

  • Limited Information on Equipment

Limited Information on Equipment

Seacoast Security’s website provides limited information on the type of equipment it uses. You can download the manual for the control panel the company uses, but there are no technical specifications for the door/window sensors or the motion detectors the company uses. You will have to contact a company representative if you’re interested in this information.

The Bottom Line

Seacoast Security is an appealing home security solution for residents of Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Its affordable package option makes it easier for customers on a tight budget to protect their home and loved ones. The fact that the company owns and operates its own professional monitoring center is extremely beneficial to the communities it serves.

As we do not currently have any Seacoast Security reviews, we recommend you compare its services to our other top-rated home security companies to ensure it's the right choice for your home.
