I called to question the cost of my ADT I have had for years because I pay too much for the service I get compared to others and they just raised my monthly fee. The woman told me why it went up then pretty much dismissed any of my concerns. She gave my the option to buy more equipment and pay more monthly. I pay $56 for a basic service. No mobile app or cameras. After talking to her Its time to check into other services

Getting ADT was the worst decision in a home security system that I could have ever made. They are over priced, their equipment constantly malfunctions, and they play this customer service game between them & the 3rd party installer Defender to make sure the issues are not addressed so they don't have to refund my money for a system that has never worked correctly.

From the misleading add, to the high pressure sales pitch, to the numerous calls for billing inquires, to nasty customer reps that you speak to, the hangups when you request a supervisor. 3 Year Contract. ADT is a good company their subcontractors are horrible. Do not use Defenders/Protect your Home for ADT Alarm Service. You will be sorry. I know I am.

Terrible company. We sold the home that had ADT Service, and closed the account. However ADT won't let go. It's been seven months, and they keep billing our card. We keep disputing the charges, and they keep denying that the account was ever closed, even though we've spoken to numerous people who have all promised that the account is closed, new representatives, keep insisting we never cancelled the contract. Even though we did numerous times. Corruption at it's core.

They installed the security system incorrectly. Alarm would go off and police would show up right away. We got charged thousands of dollars because of this idiot company. the police are in their pocket. Family worked for a security company and has mentioned what a money maker these are and they don't do anything that a dog would. Security companies are a great money maker for the police departments. Get yourselves good servalance and save your money.

Here in Central Arkansas Alert America was doing contracts for ADT. Alert American has left town and when they pulled out with our 4 year contract into the 8th month there was no way ADT was wiling to give us credit and wanted to bill us for the full amount. DO NOT use them. We have filed with Arkansas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Department.

I had ADT for three years and was NOT satisfied with the service or the equipment. The cheap window and door equipment started to fail within a month, The replacements cost $35.00. Within 6 month all the units failed. I called customer service and all they could tell me was I signed a 3 year contract and I was responsible for the replacement of the failed parts.

Beware. The installation was horrible. Big holes that they don't patch. Crazy expensive too. When I canceled the monitoring (because they never called for police twice when they should have) the equipment is proprietary. You can't self monitor. They control it and it will shut itself off after a week of ending the contract. You can't turn it back on with out them. Now they are relentless with phone calls and snail mail trying to get me to sign back up. No way will I even if it was free.. There is too many DIY wireless systems out there.

Installation and upfront charges are quite high, as is the monthly fees - in certain cities it can be as much as 60$. The 29$ monthly fees is only if you have your own landline for the system to communicate with monitoring company. I decided to cancel within trial period as it was just very expensive with no real benefit over other systems. This is where ADT showed their true colors. They didn't refund the money I paid for the equipment (325$) and their customer service would just stall and give excuses. Very dishonest company that I would not recommend to anyone.

Horrible installation. The technician who installed the system didn't know what he supposed to do. The camera was blocked by the flood light and the technician not even found out until I told him. No customer service. I complained to the local and corporate office. Nobody even responded to my email. Do not trust ADT. They are not professional. They are the worst. We will discontinue the service and refund the system. ADT is terrible.

RUN. FAST! Equipment does not work when you change your network information. You need it fixed but the tech will not allow the techs to do so. So you are stuck with equipment that does not work. You are on the phone for hours. Others are relaxing. Watching movies. You are dealing with the headache of adt. BEWARE THE CONTRACT CAN DUPE YOU.

Will give 0 star if there is an option. They did not mention anything about the 3-yr contract and try to keep you with lower rate but without any paperworks to prove what they said over the phone. Totally a scam and the customer service was not helpful and threaten you for lawsuit.

$4,000. system (Without one single camera) and it works like trash. Constantly calling them because stuff stops working!! Don't bother buying anything from them, it's definitely not worth the ridiculous amount of money they charge including the $300. for each blurry camera!!!!!

With so many security systems on the market today, for the money, ADT just isn't worth it. You can easily find a comparable home security system for a lot less. Not to mention contracts, installation fees and the surprise 30 day notice when cancelling.

Stay away. Once you sign up they treat you horribly. I needed to make changes to my existing system and they wanted to charge me more than i paid to install the entire system. A friend just installed what i was looking to do for 1/4 of what they want to charge me to upgrade a portion of existing environment.

Buyer beware. Things will be fine until you need to cancel service. Then, brace yourself for hours of harassment. Don’t go with them. Their are many other companies that will give you the same service at a better rate but more importantly, allow you to cancel. My experience was nightmare

ADT never provided any semblance of customer service. Since I ordered it disconnected, the alarm system pad on the bedroom wall continues to chirp (beep) randomly ... usually in the middle of the night. I despise this company.

Totally agree with these 1 star reviews. We signed up for a package costing $29 +/- per month. Installer came out and spent 2 hours up selling us on a higher cost system for 2x the original quote. Made me feel like a cheap skate if I didn’t go with higher cost system. Don’t like their sales pitch technique.

It's a trap! Be careful with the seller's promises! I give them 1 star for the technical help. Zero for the deals. Cause confusion and stuck with the plan which you have to pay more then they offered. I never go back to them after my contract end!

I was with protection one since 1997 and was very satisfied, but then they got bought out by ADT and they suck. Tried to cancel service and keep getting a past due bill ,don't have a home phone to monitor called to cancel five times.....run,run run!!!!!

Was told about the six month money back which seemed great as I was on deployment and would not be able to use it my self to see if I liked it. Once i was back from deployment the tell me that it was a 30 day trial and will not let me out of my contract as well as will not send me the phone call of the sales rep who told me i had six months

We had two alarms . At no time did we even get a call from ADT. We now have a billing dispute. ADT customer service person told me that many of the customer service reps lie and promise anything to either sell you an upgrade or to get you off the phone if you have a dispute, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

I regret wasting thousands of dollars on this useless system. The alarm constantly goes off in the middle of the night, stressing out the dogs. We have had ADT service people to our house on numerous occasions fixing faulty sensors on our windows. I used it for 2 months max. Now we are stuck with a huge penalty fee for breaking the contract.

They sell their package, installing their minimum set of devices for free, but do not mention that there is a 36months contract that you can not cancel. Moreover - they just increased the monthly payment which I am obliged to pay even though I've decided to stop using their service. Not a fair play.

misrepresented and lies from installer.stated out door cameras were on order,put indoor camera in and said when outdoor cameras come in one would be installed .i called to check and was told adt did not offer outdoor cameras.plus every one i talked to had a different price.some reps got nasty.i am tempted to cancel and let them chase me.

Read the fine print! They had me thinking I was getting a promotional offer when I was signing a contract unbeknownst to me for double!! Very shady and ADT says if you are not satisfied even after six month, they will let you out of the contract. Not true! They wouldn't budge. A bad company!!!

Horrible service since Protection 1 moved to ADT. They no longer call when the alarm goes off, only send out fire department each time. Too stupid to fix my alarm system so they charged me $561.00 for new equipment and told me there was no charge. Definitely cancelling my service with ADT after having been with Protection 1 for 7 years.

I have had this system for 2 years and absolutely hate it. Please don't waste your money on this system. Also you have to sign a 3 year contract, if you live in Texas and they can go up on your monthly fee. I have had so many false alarms that I don't even use my system.
