It is a very badly organized company A few days ago my alarm rang and the security guards arrived 20 minutes or 25 minutes later What can you expect from them? Actually in that time you allow them to do what they want to do in your house. ADT not Recommended at all

If I could rate ADT at 0 I would. ADT is overpriced and overrated. I could monitoring for our home system at 1/3 of the cost of ADT and we are finding the new service responds faster. ADT has been hounding us with calls to “come back” since we terminated. They also require 30 days notice so even if you sell your home you’ll be paying for an extra month of service. Find a local company and you’ll save money and deal with a more reputable business.

Poor quality equipment. Poor quality instalation people. Poor quality customer service. Slick, dishonest sales team . You have 6 months to cancel, but they do everything possible to keep from cancelization .....not answering phone calls...to avoid the date. I was within the time frame, followed all procedures to cancel ...because the equipment didn’t work. Was told by adt corporate everything was canceled and I didn’t owe anything, then I was turned into collections.

I would not sign up with ADT. The sales reps are friendly and knowledgable enough, but you may get stuck in a contract you pay dearly to get out of. I incurred a $740 dollar early cancellation of contract when I moved to a different state. They also turned me my name into a collection agency and it showed up on my credit report. This is even though i contacted an ADT dealer in the new city (they said it wasn't the authorized ADT dealer. I was stupid. Don't be stupid. Go with a security company that doesn't rope you into long term contracts with no way to get out.

This is definitely the worst Security System company out there. The only thing they are good at is lying. When I purchased there system I was told I would receive a $100 gift card from Visa. They now say that they didn't install the system and I needed to deal with the installers. By the way, nobody seems to know who they are. If I new who to serve I would take them to small claims court. What a rip-off company.

From the first day ADT was installed I have had problems. Over the past six months or so we’ve had at least 4 installers come out and they never have the equipment needed to do the job. After I told them I wanted to cancel the service the told the would charge me close to $300 and if I didn’t pay it would ruin my credit. Even before this I tried to cancel and there representative started arguing with me . Customer service is bad and they lie. Service is expensive for what you get. The only positive thing is their app.

When I called to get a quote I was told by the resprenative that they will need my social security number. At that very moment, that was a turn off because I didn't even get a quote, but you want to do a hard pull !.

I am a retired elderly person. I am stuck paying ADT for 5 years and used their system for less then a week. I called BBB and ADT called me and reduced my bill by 10 dollars a month but would not let me out of their iron clad contract. I am still on the hook for 40 dollars a month for 5 years and have used their system for 1 week. The sales person, who is no longer with the company, totally conned me into a system that I hate. Call ADT and expected to get the price they put on the ad which is $27.99 per month. They asked alot of question and askex me to give my credit card information. They then charged me $48.99. They explain the reason and I totally fine with it. But I don't want to install with that high price and tell them to cancel my order. They throw me to a customer service line which kept me waiting for hours without a word or even no waiting music. Too bad for customer service.

We have a brand new home that come with smoke detectors per building code. ADT put in more smoke detectors! We have hurricane impact glass on our windows. ADT put in shatter glass detectors. Windows are shatter proof. The problem is not ADT it is the installation company they use. They sent us email and USPS mail with all these deals. We ended up paying over $2500. We asked them to remove system and we pay the installation/removal cost. They said no.

We had a coupon saying monthly fee was $27.99. I called and confirm the price. The agent verified my home and asked my cell phone and internet providers and confirmed monthly fee was $27.99. The agent charged my credit card for installtion. When the installer showed up and said the monthly fee was $49.99, not $27.99 because I don’t have home phone line. The installer said the phone agreement did not count!!!

I had a 3 year contract and had to move to be closer to Family.. Even though it was only 40 miles from where I had lived they refused to reinstall the original equipment that was only 1 and a half years old.. They installed the very same model equipment and charged me for the equipment.. And made me sign another 3 year contract or pay them over 700. To buy out the previous one..I’m 69 years old and live on a pension I can’t afford that kind of money for nothing..I would not recommend ADT to anyone especially seniors they are taking advantage of..

I guess it gave me some what of a secure feeling. Except the night someone broke in and ripped the witeless box off the wall. Activating the alarm and I never recieved a call nor did the police show up. Thankfully my family was left un harmed. And the kicker to this all, adt was going to charge me after being a diligent customer for 3 years, to have it reinstalled with new equipment. I let them keep their equipment and disconnected my services! I would never recommend this company!

The service and product seems fine. But now we’re selling the house and will be traveling in a motorhome, so services aren’t needed. I foolishly thought that if you sold the home that would automatically terminate the contract. Wrong! We’ll now be on the hook for $2000 of service that we’re not using. This is legal larceny. Other people have said other companies don’t do this - how is it that this company can justify that this is the right thing to do? I would seriously think twice before going with ADT.

We are on easy pay but we keep receiving past due notices every month for the past 3 months. Whenever I call they just say disregard the notice. We had somebody come to check on one of the doors which the panel says is open and we were charged $186 for him to come plus 1 pc of battery. The guy was nice but it's company policy. We have been with ADT for almost 7 years because we thought it was a great company. I guess the new owners just don't care and do not appreciate our business so we're moving on.

other services make it so easy to buy and install sensors and set up the system just how I want it. I gladly paid a $500 early termination fee to get away from ADT. By the way, more modern services don't lock you into long-term contracts with their termination fees at all.

Overall experience is sub-par. Definitely would neither renew nor recommend. Pricing is high and they keep raising rates even within the fixed contract period by at least 5% year on year (yes it is in the fine print). Console is not very user friendly and cancellation needs 30 days advance notification (Not to speak of the lock-in contract of 36 months)

ADT installed our home monitoring system which we had for approximately 4 years. We cancelled our service over the phone (which was allegedly monitored) and it was never cancelled. We wrote letters, spoke to corporate and still months went by without being able to cancel, even taking names of those we spoke to. The only option was to not pay bill, be sent to collections. In finding reviews we found others having the same difficulty with cancelling services.

Did not sign with them, they bought the contract from another firm without our okay. Immediately raised our rates, and claimed we now had a 2-year contract with them, and would have to pay $160 to cancel it. They were listening to our home 24-hours/day and triggered false alarms to the police 2 different times, which cost us an additional $120 dollars. Pulled all the wires myself to stop the intrusion, and cancel a service we never agreed to. They are listening to you and all your personal conversations!!!

bad customer service installed by 3rd party, not ADT, done improperly ended up having to buy new equipment they don't know what kind of equipment I have, so they can't tell me how to take out batteries to get it to turn off at 2 am when alarm goes off because "Equipment" thinks the basement is flooding, when it's dry takes forever during an emergency to get a live person they charge for everything... coming out to check the equipment, to change a battery, everything....

I have ADT at my house and I moved to another location. Because my orginal house did not sell, I was told that I needed a security system for both houses. When I told ADT that I wanted to reactivate it they said fine and when I asked If I cancelled the account would they be a charge they indicated that there would not be a charge because it would be considered a transfer. Now that I sold the first house, they are now attempting to charge me a cancellation fee of over 1,000. This is not what the representative said would occur. Please do not use ADT they do not back up anything they claim.

Scheduled the setup visit. Went well--30 days later ADT "corporate" called and said they had not hooked up the service and would be taking it over. They came in took the cool panel and left me with an old one--then hung me with 2 contracts. Just keep in mind-when you transfer services to another location, they start your contract over. Poor communication and poor service. Paid the $1,200 cancellation fee and will be checking to see they don't keep charging me. Don't trust them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ADT is the WORST company every to deal with. They don't seem to get that customer loyalty is won by good customer service. After paying for their service for nearly a decade they REQUIRED that I upgrade it costing me $$$. Then after I did this when I eventually needed to cancel they wanted 30 days of extra payments. The ONLY recourse they could suggest was that I write a letter to some invisible corporate entity.

ADT collected 3 years worth of payments from automated draft because their agent didn’t cancel my service after I called to do so. They only want to give me 1 year of reimbursement back even though I have proof that I had a new company and have been paying them for years. It’s a shame that a multi million dollar company would take advantage of a customer in this way. I work too hard to give away free money.

I had ADT for several years, then at the end of 2016 they jacked my bill up $5. When I called to cancel they quoted me $29.99. I told them that I could live with it, but I would need a written contract. Instead they billed me $32.46 without any contract. When I told them to cancel they said I had a "Verbal" Contract. After fighting with them for six months they sent it to collections. Of course there was no contract. This is the worse company I have dealt with in my life.

Repeated issues with billing when you change addresses, they start double billing you until you catch it and then explain 4 or 5 times by calling them again and again...to get the hard earned money that you pay for this service..it is absolutely a disaster.. I so want to be out of ADT's contract right now , bad customer experience, bad customer service..twice it has happened to me and then you have to explain to them to resolve the issue

I had ADT installed against my better judgement. They contract the work out and I never did get my $100. visa card. I have had nothing but trouble with the unit it has been disconnected from the outlet with me just paying the bill for insurance purposes. I do not remember a 3 year contract and asked for proof of that due to my moving and not needing service for sereral months, I have yet to receive a copy of that 3 year contract they said I signed. I would not reccomend them to anyone!

I had ADT for about 4 years and there service went down hill after 2 years. There equipment was shabby. the batteries didn't seem to last very long. The personnel that monitored the system must have been a sleep or very busy cause it took them more than it should have to answer the alarm. Had a motion detector installed in the living room and it kept alarming. So it was useless. I just bypassed it after 2 false alarms. I'm happy with the system that I have now and unless ADT has really improved there game, I'll stay with who I have now.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! ADT is the worst company out there. The liquidated damages clause, 30 days' notice, and 36-month contract are nothing short of unconscionable given that they don't actually provide the services to which they bind the customer. They immediately threatened turning my account over to a collection agency and impacting my credit score. It didn't matter that they on numerous occasions, in numerous ways, and for extended periods did not provide services.

ADT is the MOST dishonest company I have ever dealt with. I was quoted a price for monitoring service when I had the system installed. They changed the price of my monthly service and forged my signature on a new contract. I have been paying $10.00 more per month than I had agreed to. The customer service representatives that I have spoken to are incompetent and lack knowledge about the company they work for! I got a different answer each time I called. Asked to speak to a supervisor...even worse customer service. Not worth your time or money. Worse service imaginable!
