As a provider this company does not pay or take care of their providers. They do not care and will take forever to panel, pay or "escalation" claims. As a costumer, my dentist dropped me because and I quote "my mental health is more important than dealing with Aetna."

My family pays over $1500 a month in insurance to #aetna and these mofos denied a simple ct scan. Why am i paying insurance for #aetna. You guys suck. How is it you can say what that what my doctor ordered is not necessary? #aetna, what are you doctors too now.

It is absolute crap. I would not call it insurance. I switched from United Healthcare and never had a problem before. Aetna turns down prescribed medications over and over again. It takes 2-3 days to approve tests ordered by a physician.

HORRIBLE! They denied payment for an emergency room visit when I WAS UNCONSCIOUS and taken by ambulance. They denied payment for a one night stay in the hospital. Apparently they know more than doctors who spend more than 8 years in medical school. I have a medical condition that flares up from time to time rendering me unable to make decisions.

Unfortunately nothing good to say about Aetna. Their lack of admitting making a mistake and costing me a lot of money is shocking. And this 3 months after I'm not a member of theirs anymore! Happily not a member anymore and won't ever be!

When my husband’s union was with Blue Cross I never had to pay anything after the $250 deductible was met. Then they switched to Aetna, who decided my cardio echo bill exceeded the maximum Atena allows. Be prepared to pay for anything you have done as Aetna will only cover part of it.

My medicine went from $60 per month (before the manufacturer or GoodRx coupon) on my previous insurance to $324 with the manufacturer's coupon on Aetna. Their mental health coverage is unpleasantly distressing. That's ironic, isn't it? So, in summary, avoid this company. They are egregiously abysmal.

I have issues with claims not being processed and/or denied. It has been a nightmare with having to call multiple times. I do not have confidence in my health insurance for myself or my family. I have over 20 claims I am getting billed for and providers calling me to tell me there is a problem with my account. It is truly embarrassing.

Aetna has completely lost their way. Customer service and website are equally non-responsive. They used to be a good company. CVS has ruined their culture and their customer service effectiveness. I can't get a legitimate claim paid for the life of me.

I called Aetna today. What a disaster. Called twice and got 2 people who didn't speak good English and talked so fast I thought I was talking to someone in a foreign country. Ill switch to another company when this year is done.

While the plan and coverage were ok - customer service is just the worst I’ve experienced! All automated and when someone finally answers they have no idea of what’s going on.

with the monthly cost and the need to get over the out of pocket threshold before copay kicks in …It’s like Not having insurance at all…. Got saddled with this company as a result of a contract change to an “best shore” based company …wished there were more provider options other than the Obama care by a different name option….

Aetna refuses to allow your physicians to speak to someone state side. We are being forced to speak with someone in another country that does not speak proper English and has not idea what they are doing!!!! GO TO ANOTHER INSURANCE CARRIER AND MAKE SURE YOU CAN SPEAK WITH AN AMERICAN REPRESENTIVE.

Please dont choose Aetna. They are cheating. They did not put the effective date of coverage as date of my new born baby. I took high paid plan PPO but not useful. Hospital and pediatrician sent bills with full amount. They informed about this at last moment.

They may be great if you have a doctor in the area... BUT no doctors accepting patients in 97405 area. NONE!!! But Aetna will continue to charge for "excellent" services... sooo frustrating!! Pay doctors more, or recruit more doctors... soo sad...

I can't say enough bad things about Aetna. The coverage is almost non-existent and providers have even shared with me that "no one wants to take Aetna." Do whatever you can to stay away from this company. They will find ANY reason to deny your claims.

Worst experience ever. My husband's company switched to Aetna in order for me to get medication and they've done nothing but stonewall us. It's been 2 months now waiting on them to finalize our pre authorization. Everytime you call you get a different story. My doctor dropped me as a patient because of them.

Avoid Aetna. The services are skimpy. The website is slow, vague and hard to navigate. No one from member services works on the weekend. Trying to get care is impossible. Poor prescription drugs services. I could not find one positive thing about this coverage.

Customer service can't find a pcp in 2 cities most convenient for me. They pick a doctor and if it's 30 miles away well too bad for you!! Worst health care I've ever had!! 3 months and I still have no convenient location for a doctor. Save yourself the headache and find someone else...someone who cares. They get 0 stars but that's not an option!!

If I could give 0 star! After paying $600.00 per month and $800.00 deductible, I'm charged $30.00 for each visit to Doctor's office, Absolute rip off. And most of services are covered max to 80%. Please run away from this insurance company as fast as you can. Oh forgot to mention horrible horrible customer service.

So there is an issue with AETNA because their policy for beneficiaries is faulty. Even with proof that the insured wanted to change beneficiary AETNA gave the money to the ex-spouse instead of to the next of kin like MA law states when this situation arises in a sudden death.
