Lumber Liquidators was founded in 1993 in Stoughton, Massachusetts by building contractor Tom Sullivan. The company has grown and relocated over the years, and now the headquarters is in Virginia and has stores in 46 states. The company has one of the largest inventories of prefinished and unfinished hardwood floors in the industry and continues to grow.

The Good

  • One-Stop Shop
  • Unbeatable Best Price Guarantee

One-Stop Shop

Lumber Liquidators has a very large inventory when it comes to flooring products, but it also offers a variety of other products that will compliment your flooring. The company has a large selection of cleaning and maintenance products, flooring underlayment, and moldings and trims. The large inventory allows you to find everything you need at one place instead of having to expand to other stores.

Unbeatable Best Price Guarantee

Lumber Liquidators claims they have the lowest flooring prices, so much so that they will match the price if you find the same floor at another company for cheaper. Although they will match the price, you do only have seven days to find a company that offers your purchased floor for cheaper.

The Bad

  • Confusing Website
  • Five-Year Warranty

Confusing Website

The Lumber Liquidators website is cluttered and overwhelming, making it difficult to navigate. The difficult website makes it easy to miss important information regarding products or warranties. Lumber Liquidators would benefit from updating their website to be more user-friendly.

Five-Year Warranty

Lumber Liquidators offers a five year warranty on some of their products, which makes it difficult to commit to their flooring. If anything happens to the flooring after five years, their is no fixing it unless you want to pay to replace it. Other companies have warranties that range on average from 20 years to a lifetime.

The Bottom Line

Lumber Liquidators has a large inventory, making it a good company to find everything you are looking for. The company does have a poor warranty though, and their website is hard to navigate. If you have Lumber Liquidator stores in your area, then we would recommend going to the store to work with an expert before making any flooring decisions.
