Personalized by Your DNA

Every workout, meal, and recovery strategy is designed to match what works best with your body..

  • Fat loss efficiency through cardio vs. strength training based on your genetic response
  • Macronutrient needs tailored to your metabolism of carbs, fats, and protein
  • Inflammation and recovery tendencies, reducing your risk of overtraining
  • Stress and anxiety resilience, informing your “work in” vs. “work out” balance
  • Motivation traits, so your plan matches your psychological wiring
  • Bone density and injury risk, guiding safer, more effective movement strategies

Through a simple at-home cheek swab, your DNA is analyzed to reveal how your body is wired to perform, recover, and respond to different types of exercise and nutrition.

Real Time Adaptation

Alter’s workouts aren’t one-size-fits-all. Based on your DNA and real-time biometrics, your program evolves daily—balancing strength, cardio, stress management, and recovery.

  • Smart Wearables: The AlterMe Ring tracks sleep, heart rate, HRV, stress, mood, activity, SpO₂, respiratory rate, and skin temperature variation—24/7 and during workouts
  • Daily Readiness Score: Your plan updates automatically based on how well you’ve recovered and how stressed your system is
  • Adaptive Workouts: Training sessions scale up or down based on your real-time data, so you get the right challenge at the right time
  • Smarter Over Time: The system learns from your trends and habits to improve personalization the longer you use it

Good for Beginners or Seasoned Veterans

AlterMe is a strong fit for both beginners and experienced athletes thanks to its intuitive setup and smart adaptability. The system is easy to use—everything runs through a streamlined app, and the wearables handle tracking automatically in the background. Whether you’re squeezing in a 20-minute session between meetings or following a structured program, AlterMe adjusts to your schedule and energy levels without requiring a major lifestyle overhaul. It’s a practical, efficient solution for anyone who wants to make progress without complexity or burnout.

A Focus On Recovery

AlterMe stands out for integrating mental wellness and recovery into its core programming—something most fitness platforms overlook. Beyond tracking your physical performance, the system recognizes that stress, sleep, and emotional state directly impact your progress. With daily biometric insights and built-in tools to help manage stress, AlterMe makes mental health a priority, not an afterthought.

  • HRV and stress tracking via the AlterMe Ring to monitor nervous system balance and recovery readiness
  • Mood check-ins within the app to help identify emotional patterns tied to physical performance
  • Sleep quality insights with nightly tracking of heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, and sleep duration
  • Daily Readiness Score that factors in stress, recovery, and sleep to guide your effort levels
  • Workouts + “Work-ins”: Includes restorative sessions like breathwork, stretching, and zone-based cardio to help reduce cortisol and support recovery
  • Smart programming that pulls back on intensity when your data signals you’re overstressed or under-recovered

DNA Based Nutrition

AlterMe’s nutrition system is built around the premise that individuals respond differently to food based on their genetic makeup. For users aiming to lose weight or build muscle, AlterMe offers a unique approach: combining DNA analysis with daily biometric feedback to tailor calorie and macronutrient recommendations.

Upon setup, users select a primary goal—such as fat loss or muscle gain—and AlterMe configures a nutrition strategy accordingly. Unlike standard macro calculators, this one draws on genetic insights related to metabolism, fat utilization, carbohydrate sensitivity, and more.

Key Features:

  • Goal-Driven Optimization: Users choose between fat loss or muscle gain, and the app adjusts calorie targets, macro splits, and nutritional timing to support that outcome.
  • DNA-Based Macro Recommendations: AlterMe analyzes genetic markers to determine how efficiently a person processes protein, carbs, and fats—informing a more personalized dietary approach.
  • Dynamic Caloric Targets: Calorie goals are updated based on biometric signals such as recovery, energy output, and training load.
  • Female-Specific Adjustments: For women, the platform can integrate cycle-based nutritional shifts, aligning food strategies with hormonal phases for better energy and recovery.
  • Food Sensitivity Considerations: DNA results may also flag potential inflammatory or digestion-related responses to certain foods, allowing users to refine their choices further.

What’s Coming: AI-Powered Meal Tracking (2025)

One of the most anticipated updates is AlterMe’s AI-powered Nutrition Tracker, slated for release in 2025. This feature will allow users to take a photo of their meal using their phone’s camera.

Core Features:

  • No tedious macro input: Snap a photo, and AlterMe's AI analyzes it for users to provide estimated calorie count, and macro breakdown.
  • DNA-Informed Nutrition: The platform uses genetic data to personalize the ratios of protein, fat, and carbs users should consume—depending on your own personal goal.
  • Responsive to Daily Biometrics: Nutrition plans shift in response to real-time recovery and exertion data collected from AlterMe wearables, helping users stay aligned with what their body actually needs.

Nutrition Tracker is expected to drastically simplify the meal tracking game. Snap a picture, get the macro count, and keep macros within your DNA-powered split—and achieve your goals.

The Bottom Line

AlterMe is the world’s first at-home fitness system that combines your DNA and biometrics with state-of-the-art technology, allowing you to personalize your fitness, health, and wellness goals to your specific biological makeup. The AlterMe team is made up of an elite group of professionals that provide expert insight on human performance, sports psychology, sports medicine, and more.

The AlterMe System is built around a single, powerful wearable: the AlterMe Ring. Unlike traditional fitness trackers, the ring offers 24/7 biometric monitoring designed to adapt to your body—not the other way around. It continuously tracks heart rate, HRV, sleep, stress, activity, and more, feeding that data into a dynamic platform that adjusts your workouts and nutrition in real time.

Every system begins with a DNA Fitness & Health Report, using a quick cheek swab to analyze 15 key genetic traits tied to fat loss, muscle gain, metabolism, and recovery. This genetic insight forms the foundation of your personalized program.

What sets AlterMe apart is how everything connects. The AlterMe Ring and your DNA results sync through the AlterMe App, where you’ll receive daily, goal-specific recommendations. Whether you're focused on weight loss, strength, or recovery, the system evolves with your progress—automatically adjusting based on your biometrics and performance.

The membership includes full access to adaptive workouts, DNA-based nutrition, readiness tracking, and upcoming features like the AI Nutrition Tracker (launching in 2025), which will estimate calories, protein, and carbs from photos of your meals. It’s a personalized, science-backed approach for people who are done guessing—and ready for real, sustainable results.

The upfront cost for the Alter System may be a large investment, but AlterPay offers financing to help make the system more affordable for more customers. If you’re looking for a new and personalized system to help you reach your fitness, health, and wellness goals, AlterMe could be a good option for you. Taronn T Fitzgerald

I recently returned the Alter Mirror after realizing it’s still in a beta/development phase. Unfortunately, the system did not meet my expectations. What Didn’t Work: The Alter Band never worked, even after trying two different ones. It also failed to track my sleep. In fact, I lost more sleep waking up to check if the app was working—it wasn’t. The Alter Mirror is really just a mirror with an avatar demonstrating exercises. Nothing revolutionary. The Alter App felt underdeveloped and unimpressive. Everything is clearly still in beta. The DNA Kit Results seemed too generic. I even found another user’s results online (a male) that were nearly identical to mine. What Did Work: Customer Service & Coach Tyler – Both were great! I’d recommend them any day. The Cost Issue: I paid a $399 down payment using my HSA card, but because of the 10% restocking fee of the Alter Mirror (which I missed in the fine print), I'm only getting $99 back. Honestly, that’s about what the system should actually cost in its current state. Oh I was able to keep the yoga mat, bands, and yoga bricks all which I already had in my inventory. I’ll be sharing some real test photos since you won’t find them anywhere else. If this review gets removed, well—screenshots exist for a reason. Bottom line: I do not recommend the Alter system. Maybe in the future when they get their act together, but not right now.
